First time here, ask the young lady what would she recommended to add to my cup of java. Told her I like lavender and some strawberry cold form. And they deliver! Even had a message love on top, such a sweet and cute touch! Parking is located in the back and side. The space was super cozy and welcoming. They decorated and even sell other goodies. Like candles, hats, tshirts and sweets. They had many theme drinks also. The drink is amazing! I will definitely be back for sure. This is a charming little coffee shop that I like to frequent after the gym if I have some extra time! They have multiple options of coffees, teas, smoothies, and lemonades. Though I've never gotten food, there is a refrigerated area with sandwiches. The seating inside is very homey, with couches and separate rooms with tables and chairs. There are also options for purchasing local handmade items such as candles. My coffee here is always good and my daughter loved the strawberry frappe yesterday (caffeine free of course) and enjoyed the front porch sitting area. We were lucky enough to see the train pass by while we had our drinks! The staff are very friendly and chat personably with their customers while they prepare drinks! We've been visiting Kernersville more and more lately so I'm trying to find all the coffee shops! This time I tried Local Roots and it's such a cute spot! It's in a little cottage right up the road from the downtown area. There is parking in the back which is nice and the decor inside is fitting for the space and decorated seasonally. My daughter and I both work remotely. Her company had a big event and she needed fast, reliable internet ASAP. We checked with Yelp and Local Roots popped up! I ordered the Chai Tea and she ordered some fancy coffee! Sine I am not a coffee drinker I have to take her word that her drink was AMAZING! My Chai Tea was excellent! Lots of Chai spices blended perfectly. After adding a kiss of honey, my drink was glorious to the last drop. We sat in the front room with two other ladies. One melted into a chair and wrapped herself in a blanket while she read her book. The other typing away on her computer. Several people with dogs came in while we worked. You could tell they were regulars by their reception. The seats outside were kept full the entire time we worked. You have to be doing something right to be that continually busy! This place is the cutest small town coffee shop- it feels almost fictional! Love that they're dog friendly, and saw several cute pups! The coffees were fantastic, and the baristas were super friendly and kind! There are several gluten free and healthy food options, like protein bars, drinks, etc. They also have quiche, cinnamon rolls, etc., as shown in the photos. I didn't try any this time, but def will next time! This would be the perfect spot to settle down and get work done in one of their many cute rooms. Free WiFi, too. The parking situation isn't my favorite, but it's not awful- You can enter on either side of the building- parking is in the back. I recommend entering on the right of the building because it's easier to get through to the back that way. read more

Great staff,super adorable shop and great coffee. The atmosphere is cozy and nice, certainly my absolute favorite go-to spot as a local. I've had many of their different coffee drinks and every single cup of coffee hits the spot. It's really hard for me to pick a favorite because I've enjoyed them all. If you are having a hard time choosing they also offer coffee flights which look beautiful and seem to be very popular to share with a friend. Besides drinks local roots also sells bagged coffee from local roasters, jewelry and crafts from local artists and wonderful neighbor hood pastries to go with your coffee- I'm absolutely addicted to the Bee Healthy bars at the counter- I buy them 2 at a time. I really liked this place for the last two weeks of coming here.. Came in for a quick bite to eat today (killer GF oatmeal cups) and apparently one of the baristas was having a real bad day and let that determine how she talked to/treated me. All I can do/did is be patient and understanding and send love her way. Very sad; I get that that shit happens, but when you let that change the way you treat others, it's a slippery slope. This place continues to impress me. The odd layout of the building is because it was a house. I love sitting in a room and wondering what it was: a sitting room? A master bedroom? They converted a closet to a quiet work space which is awesome. The seating is well thought out which prevents this place from being overly noisy. There are 3 rooms each with unique seating areas. Again, the noise level is so much better compared to other coffee places I have studied or worked in. There's also plenty of front porch seating as well. I have had the pumpkin mocha (hot) 2 days in a row. I have yet to ask them to make the coffee less sweet. It's always perfect. The large comes with plenty of coffee, 4 shots! This means you are drinking coffee and not milk. The coffee is smooth and flavorful. I'll have to try some coffee without any flavoring. All things considered, this is a good coffee shop for the area. The inside is cute, but oddly laid out with not much seating. Their menu is pretty diverse, definitely an option for most. A few food items, but nothing super interesting. We got a bagel with cream cheese from a local bakery they carried; it was untoasted and had a side of cream cheese. I mean, I guess that *is* what we ordered, but not what we expected. We were excited to see the fall menu was out and ordered a pumpkin spice latte and a pumpkin cold brew. The PSL was not very good... Hopefully it was a bad bit of the batch because it was very burnt. The syrup taste did not mix well. The pumpkin cold brew was okay, but that was that. I'm always on the hunt for iced coffee in the area and try to support local businesses when I can, so when I heard about Local Roots I knew I had to stop by. Local Roots has transformed a home into a cozy and eclectic coffee shop. With the bones of the home still in place including a fireplace and separate rooms, it's difficult not to feel 'at home' here. Each room has its own seating and decor. It's a great environment for coffee with friends or even working remotely for a bit. I also noticed that they sell items like art and candles from what seem to be local vendors. Now to the coffee. To my pleasant surprise, I stopped by during a time that they were doing coffee flights. You could get 4 separate lattes to try on the flight and each were a pretty good size. Knowing that the baristias probably know best, I asked them to choose the latter flavors, 2 with regular milk and 2 with oat milk. They agreed and were super nice about it. All of the coffee was good but the Honeybee made with oat milk and honey was delicious. read more

Glad I stumbled upon this cute coffee shop while in Kernersville for an appointment! Located in an older house (built in either 1896 or 1928, according to the web), now transformed into a coffee shop, this place oozes warmth & charm. The baristas were friendly & made a great latte. Local goods are sold here (UpDog kombucha, Chad's Carolina Corn), & there is a sweet "need to brighten your day? take an uplifting note" (paraphrasing here) box beside the entrance in case you need an affirmation... I didn't take a note but wish I had just to see what it said! Wish I'd had more time to linger but next time I'm in town I will be back! Parking signage might be nice (if there was any, I did not see it) - I couldn't tell at first where to park & if I could circle around to more parking. Since the business is pretty new this (signage) may be something that's being worked out. I got an iced almond milk latte and it was great! They have a bunch of different syrups to sweeten coffee with, lavender is especially rare to see and intriguing.
