First time here, ask the young lady what would she recommended to add to my cup of java. Told her I like lavender and some strawberry cold form. And they deliver! Even had a message love on top, such a sweet and cute touch! Parking is located in the back and side. The space was super cozy and welcoming. They decorated and even sell other goodies. Like candles, hats, tshirts and sweets. They had many theme drinks also. The drink is amazing! I will definitely be back for sure. Love finding hidden gems like this locally and to support local businesses. While you are waiting feel free to check out all the goodies they have or just sit back, relax while the drink is getting made. Thank you for my lovely drink!
If you've ever wanted a bucket of coffee, you've come to the right place! As a parent who can never get enough coffee, this is place is my dream. The brown sugar oat milk latte I had is very smooth. And my kids and I had a muffin big enough to share between the three of us. There is ample space inside for working, studying, or socializing, and there is some cute seating outside. I believe this place is also pet-friendly. Local Roots is off the beaten path/a few blocks away from Main Street, and there is plenty of parking in the back. Definitely worth a stop on your next trip to Kernersville!
We've been visiting Kernersville more and more lately so I'm trying to find all the coffee shops! This time I tried Local Roots and it's such a cute spot! It's in a little cottage right up the road from the downtown area. There is parking in the back which is nice and the decor inside is fitting for the space and decorated seasonally. I ordered the red velvet latte off of their seasonal menu and it was good, not great. I definitely think I want to try something different next time, but I will be back!
Thee cutest little coffee shop. Plenty of places to sit, reflect or knock out some work. Good variety of coffee drinks. I picked the cinnamon bun latta and an apple turnover. Both were perfect, full of flavor and the turnover was super crusty. Perfect breakfast outside on the porch in the morning sunshine
An adorable local coffee shop. They have a $2 off special Monday- Friday from 1-3! The barista was incredibly friendly and recommended the coco toffee cold brew. The drink was delicious.
Great selection of drinks (coffee, refreshers, smoothies)! They have a fridge filled with goodies, bites, & other drinks as well. The rooms are kinda chopped up, has a children's playroom in the very back. Parking is a slight hassle but worth it!
My daughter and I both work remotely. Her company had a big event and she needed fast, reliable internet ASAP. We checked with Yelp and Local Roots popped up! I ordered the Chai Tea and she ordered some fancy coffee! Sine I am not a coffee drinker I have to take her word that her drink was AMAZING! My Chai Tea was excellent! Lots of Chai spices blended perfectly. After adding a kiss of honey, my drink was glorious to the last drop. We sat in the front room with two other ladies. One melted into a chair and wrapped herself in a blanket while she read her book. The other typing away on her computer. Several people with dogs came in while we worked. You could tell they were regulars by their reception. The seats outside were kept full the entire time we worked. You have to be doing something right to be that continually busy! If you are in the area, treat yourself to some great drinks and a relaxing atmosphere! There is plenty of parking off the street in the back so plan to stay a while! Most Sincerely!
This place is the cutest small town coffee shop- it feels almost fictional! Love that they're dog friendly, and saw several cute pups! The coffees were fantastic, and the baristas were super friendly and kind! There are several gluten free and healthy food options, like protein bars, drinks, etc. They also have quiche, cinnamon rolls, etc., as shown in the photos. I didn't try any this time, but def will next time! This would be the perfect spot to settle down and get work done in one of their many cute rooms. Free WiFi, too. The parking situation isn't my favorite, but it's not awful- You can enter on either side of the building- parking is in the back. I recommend entering on the right of the building because it's easier to get through to the back that way.
There are many rooms to study or read and it is pretty quiet. I have tried both the iced strawberry pancake latte and cookies and cream frappe and they are amazing! I have also tried the strawberry açaí refresher and it was made with edible glitter!!! Very friendly employees!
Great staff, super adorable shop and great coffee. The atmosphere is cozy and nice, certainly my absolute favorite go-to spot as a local. I've had many of their different coffee drinks and every single cup of coffee hits the spot. It's really hard for me to pick a favorite because I've enjoyed them all. If you are having a hard time choosing they also offer coffee flights which look beautiful and seem to be very popular to share with a friend. Besides drinks local roots also sells bagged coffee from local roasters, jewelry and crafts from local artists and wonderful neighbor hood pastries to go with your coffee- I'm absolutely addicted to the Bee Healthy bars at the counter- I buy them 2 at a time. So for a wonderful coffee experience skip the Bucks and go local at Local Roots.
Still highly recommend this wonderful place! I enjoyed the coconut cream cold brew on their front porch, great relaxing way to start the day with a tasty coffee!
Awesome little local spot! Many choices! The inside is cozy with many little places to sit with friends or just enjoy the peace! I ordered a basic iced mocha latte because I couldn't decide! I will have to try the raspberry chai latte next time. That one has peaked my interest!! I recommend this place. Shop local!!
Such an epic coffee spot. A great place to work remote, chill and read a book, or play some board games with friends. There were tons of drink flavors as well as snack options. Parking at the rear of the building. Staff was very informative and helpful. Wish we had one back home in Asheville!
Welcome back, Local Roots! New owners, new location (about a mile from previous) right next to Ciener Botanical and close by the Kernersville Farmer's Market. And a new trailer setup with outdoor chairs and tables. Some umbrellas would be nice but my friend & I just moved chairs to the shade of a tree, no problem. I do want to taste my way through their summer menu (particularly the blueberry French toast, which is a coffee drink with blueberry cold foam), but I actually asked for something off-menu, a lavender frappe with vanilla base -- if you've seen my cheers about Bitty & Beau's (miss having them right downtown WS), that's the one they named for me. They made it in no time flat (seriously, never had a beverage whipped up so quickly) and it tasted just like home. read more
This is a charming little coffee shop that I like to frequent after the gym if I have some extra time! They have multiple options of coffees, teas, smoothies, and lemonades. Though I've never gotten food, there is a refrigerated area with sandwiches. The seating inside is very homey, with couches and separate rooms with tables and chairs. There are also options for purchasing local handmade items such as candles. My coffee here is always good and my daughter loved the strawberry frappe yesterday (caffeine free of course) and enjoyed the front porch sitting area. We were lucky enough to see the train pass by while we had our drinks! The staff are very friendly and chat personably with their customers while they prepare drinks! Parking is behind the building, so don't miss it!! read more

Such a cute spot in an old house in kernersville. I've wanted to try this spot for a while but it's a drive from my house. The coffee was pretty good and I love that they had a fun seasonal menu. They also had some food options to choose from if you need a snack or breakfast with your coffee! read more

This place continues to impress me. The odd layout of the building is because it was a house. I love sitting in a room and wondering what it was: a sitting room? A master bedroom? They converted a closet to a quiet work space which is awesome. The seating is well thought out which prevents this place from being overly noisy. There are 3 rooms each with unique seating areas. Again, the noise level is so much better compared to other coffee places I have studied or worked in. There's also plenty of front porch seating as well. I have had the pumpkin mocha (hot) 2 days in a row. I have yet to ask them to make the coffee less sweet. It's always perfect. The large comes with plenty of coffee, 4 shots! This means you are drinking coffee and not milk. The coffee is smooth and flavorful. I'll have to try some coffee without any flavoring. I stopped by Kernersville bagel (the bagels LR carry) first and grabbed breakfast before coming over. See that review too. read more

I'm always on the hunt for iced coffee in the area and try to support local businesses when I can, so when I heard about Local Roots I knew I had to stop by. Local Roots has transformed a home into a cozy and eclectic coffee shop. With the bones of the home still in place including a fireplace and separate rooms, it's difficult not to feel 'at home' here. Each room has its own seating and decor. It's a great environment for coffee with friends or even working remotely for a bit. I also noticed that they sell items like art and candles from what seem to be local vendors. Now to the coffee. To my pleasant surprise, I stopped by during a time that they were doing coffee flights. You could get 4 separate lattes to try on the flight and each were a pretty good size. Knowing that the baristias probably know best, I asked them to choose the latter flavors, 2 with regular milk and 2 with oat milk. They agreed and were super nice about it. All of the coffee was good but the Honeybee made with oat milk and honey was delicious. read more

Lovely small cafe in a warm and welcoming spot. Not an expansive menu but I was more than pleased with my mocha latte and blueberry muffin. Slow down so you don't miss the entrance to the parking lot which is around the back of the building. read more
