Great protein options for brunch after a workout! I was so hungry I forgot to take pics. I love that there is outside seating options, and while we were there they put on the bubble machine. It was whimsical outdoor brunch. It did take while to get service but it was busy that day. read more

We came here on a Monday morning before work. There was one other party aside from ours. There were a couple of people that came in for to-go orders though. They do validate parking here so make sure you do that before you're seated at the restaurant. I had the famous toastery bowl with French toast. It was really good. I loved the pork sausage and the Hollandaise sauce. The breakfast potatoes and eggs were also tasty. Because of the sauce I didn't feel as if I needed to add any salt or pepper. The French toast was very tasty as well. The waiter was attentive and prompt. I'd definitely come here again next time I'm in Winston-Salem. read more

Great breakfast for a Wednesday morning. Staff are super nice and had solid recommendations. We got the Huevos Rancheros and French Toast and both were very good! This is my second time at this location and I'll always come back. The space has a great vibe and the art makes for a feast for the eyes. read more

The Famous Toastery is a place I tried years ago and just haven't had the opportunity to come back but today was the day. It has a very artsy vibe inside and has a large patio area if you would like to sit outside. There is tons of neat artwork all in the inside which provides a really good touch to the place. The service was good they are very prompt with everything and very accommodating if you want to make any substitutions to your meal. I went with a mimosa with strawberry and mango which was pretty good! A western omelet which was ok I'm not a big fan of craft square slices as the choice of cheese in my omelet so that threw me off a tad but other than that it was I couldn't complain. Finished everything off with a bowl of fruit. Will definitely be back since I have moved back to this area but I'll try something different next go round! read more

Really enjoyed this place! Seating was plentiful and comfortable. parking was super easy with the 3 hours of validated parking. I didn't try the fresh-squeezed OJ but almost everyone around us had it and it looked so good. I got the huevos rancheros. The chorizo on it was super flavorful but not too spicy. I loved the tortilla strips instead of chips. Great flavor and texture overall. Each plate was the perfect portion, not too much and not too little. Service was quick, and I like that you just pay at the front when you're done. Definitely a spot we'd come back to! read more

I had a great experience! I loved the atmosphere! And my waiter Josh brought great vibes to us!

Great place to come with friends and have late breakfast with mimosas!! Service was great everyone was friendly and food service came pretty quick for the amount of people we came with (10 guests). The potatoes were good but i loved the pesto salad and the sandwiches. Mimosas were the best. I was able to try every flavor and the cranberry was my favorite. Cant wait to come try out their other drinks. read more

This is a great brunch place to sit and chat with friends and enjoy a drink or come for a lunch gathering. The only reason I am giving this 4/5 is that the service is always a bit off. I can't really think of a time that I've gone to Famous Toastery where I felt like the staff was happy to have new guests or really even happy to be at work. They just sort of go through the motions but there's no welcoming vibe. The food however is almost always AMAZING! This past time I got the Brie & Turkey Sandwich and it was super good! I'll for sure be ordering that again. The drinks (cocktails and specialty drinks like coffee) are pretty good as well! A great way to improve any dining experience here. Sit outside or inside - the service will be the same either way and you usually get your pick of inside or outside, even if there's a wait. NOTE: take a picture of your license plate to fill out the parking validation to avoid the crazy tickets from the city. There's a QR code on a paper inside the door. DO NOT FORGET!!! read more

A table of 10 and all the food was hot and very good. The staff were all pleasant from the hostess to our server, took great care of us. We sat outside and it was a little windy but that didn't take away from the cleanliness which was outstanding. read more

Had the pleasure of trying this restaurant yesterday and the food was delicious. I had the fall pancakes (pumpkin spice) and turkey bacon. I sampled my friend's food, the smokes sausage was good. It's a small restaurant but big on flavor. read more

We visited on the Sat before Mother's Day, so some of the things we ordered were special menu items. Everything was delicious and our server ... Cai was fabulous! My mom told her she was diabetic and Cai thought of everything. She made sure there was Splenda for her coffee, and brought sugar free syrup. The place was packed and the only issue I had was that the front door stayed open more than it stayed closed. It was pretty chilly and we were cold the entire meal. BUT, after a few mimosas from my flight, I was fine . Highly recommend if you are looking for a good breakfast!! read more

My son took me to Famous Toastery for Mother's Day today. After a short wait, we were seated on the covered patio and our waiter brought our coffee and iced tea very timely. As usual for Mother's Day, l ordered the classic EggsBenedict. When our food arrived, l was surprised and sad to find that the poached eggs were tiny and perched on a slice of Canadian Bacon about 1/2 the thickness that Canadian Bacon should be, smaller in circumference than normal, and therefore overcooked. Also, the eggs were not covered in Hollandaise sauce like usual presentations and, therefore, the amount of Hollandaise sauce was sorely lacking. Service was fine and l enjoyed watching the bubble machine, but it seems that Eggs Benedict has suffered from shrinkflation, a major disappointment. read more

Happy to have found this welcoming spot for a quick and laidback lunch (or breakfast). I guess it's a chain but whatever...the food came out fresh and hearty and our server was super friendly. My Daybreak Burrito - although kinda bland - really hit the spot (also, I did not come across even one tomato inside) and the casual vibe was a good fit - outdoor patio if you want, as well. Good portions, reasonable prices and a cool neighborhood for this location, too. If you need no frills but fresh no-nonsense grub, this seems like a good choice. Bloody Mary's and Mimosas served as well, so day drinkers can get their groove on. read more

2.5 - 3 stars. We were a party of 5 and there was a 30 minute wait. The place was busy however the food was sub-par, especially for 5 people, for breakfast it was over $110. We ordered lattes. When they arrived, the waitress accidentally spilled one of our cups on the table, she stated she was going to bring us another cup but never did. The lattes were super small & luke warm. For the main meal, I ordered the french toast combo with eggs & potatoes. I also ordered a side of bacon for $4. My husband got the Huevos rancheros where the chorizo & his toast was also extra. We had to ask multiple times for water & my side of bacon. My meal was also cold & I wasn't a fan of the flavor of the french toast but we were so hungry we let it go and ate our food. The rest of my family ordered an egg burrito, the southwestern omelette & quesadillas. Everyone left indifferent for the food. Nothing special. read more

Delicious cute breakfast place. The batter of my coconut flapjack's were yummy. I opted for turkey sausage which was very good. My son got waffle with chorizo as his side meat which came in a small bowl of crumbles, so he regretted that decision. My friend got a southwestern burger which he said was great and another friend got French toast with fruit. The heater in the restaurant was down today but they had a floor heater. Service was excellent. I'm giving it 4 stars for great service and pancake batter ..but the price was just too high all around. I can get the same breakfast items just as good for a few dollars less a plate. read more

Food was ok. Just your average all American breakfast. The pancakes are HUGE but I feel like the density was more cake-like which made it difficult to eat. Service was pretty good no complaints. Ambiance outside was great perfect for fall! read more

We went for brunch. We all ordered different things. The huevos rancheros was the best from everything we ordered. The French toast was just alright. The egg burrito was not worth it. The southwest omelet was good. The place was nice. It was busy. Did have to wait 20 minutes. Our server seemed new. The corn bread that is placed on every table wasn't brought out to us, we had to ask for it. She spilled the latte and said she would bring more because she spilled it and never did. We ordered a side of bacon which also never came and we had to remind her. It still wasn't brought out and we were almost finished with our French toast, we had to ask for it again and then it finally came out. I asked for a cappuccino and asked for it to be very hot, it was just warm when they brought it out to me. read more

My roommate and I visited this past Sunday morning and were seated at a two-top by the window. Our waitress, who had blonde hair and blue eyes (unfortunately, I didn't catch her name), took our order but never returned to check on us. Another server with locs and glasses brought our food and, at the same time, handed us the check--without asking if we wanted separate checks. Throughout our meal, no one checked in to see if the food was okay, and the service overall was poor. When it was time to pay, the manager had to step in, and when I mentioned that our waitress never returned, the manager seemed indifferent. As waitresses ourselves, my roommate and I understand the usual service routine, and it felt like we were assumed to be non-tippers. Despite the poor service, I still left a decent tip. This experience was disappointing, and I hope to see improvements in both attentiveness and customer care in the future. read more

Very friendly staff. Ben is a great waiter. Prepared food to our special needs. Everything tasted great.

I DoorDashed this and picked it up. This meal was absolutely delicious. I asked for a soft poach and the yolk was perfectly runny. Their house made Benedict sauce was very delicious! It appears to me like a total of half an avocado was used for the two eggs...they didn't skimp! I love cholula so I added that & truly found this to be so delicious. The ambiance looked nice and relaxing when I went at 10am on a Sunday, but I'm sure it can pick up later in the morning. Food-wise, I will definitely be back. read more

Ohh the food was fantastic.. when I lived in Winston I always DoorDash. while traveling I decided to have breakfast I had the stuff French toast strawberry and cream cheese.. with eggs and bacon.. the food was fantastic.. then why did I give it a low score.. The service.. when I walked in, both of the hostesses looked like are you kidding me. One lady said we close at 3:00.. I said you are going to kick us out, no but we stop serving.. I said ok.. she took the order with a bad attitude. Before I got the food she threw the tab on the table. It was not 3:00.. when the food came. she disappeared no refills or thank you.. and it was. Not 3:00 read more

As Famous Toastery continues to raise their prices, they are also decreasing the quality. I used to eat Famous Toastery often, especially their Cobb salad. Lately, their salads have been awful. The lettuce was wilted and bitter, the eggs had raw yolks, and the chicken was tough with lots of fat. The wait staff used to be very friendly and helpful, but the new people they hired are rude and dismissive. I called and asked for the manager and got the run around until I simply hung up. I expect better quality and service and I will not eat there EVER again. read more

When we arrived there was about a 25 minute wait for our party of 4 at 1PM on Labor Day. Service was decent, though the chairs and tables were definitely sticky (read: syrup). My spouse and I ate breakfast. Here are our thoughts: Food: one of us got the Toastery bowl; the other one got a western omelet with breakfast potatoes. The bowl was good...solid 4 on a scale to 5. The western omelet was maybe as high as 3.5/5, but the potatoes with it were more like a 2/5 (cold, hard). So, one of us liked the food, the other felt like it was 'meh' at best. Atmosphere/Service: well...we caught them on a bad day...the heat was out and they were doing their best with space heaters...but it was cold in the dining area. One of us ate with their coat on. Service was adequate. Suggestion: tell people immediately if there is a problem with your dining room, maybe offer a discount, free coffee...do something. I am sure it is nearly impossible to make everyone happy with the thermostat, but no central heat when it's in the 20s is an obvious problem that needs proactive action. Value: Low. Not a fan of over $40 (total) for two people to have a bowl, an omelet, and 2 coffees in a cold dining room. Here's the thing - there are a lot of lower priced restaurants and cafes that offer decent to very good breakfast food and a much better experience for less. Recommend?: Based on our experience, I do not think we will return and could not recommend. read more

We attended brunch at famous toastery and it was amazing! They had the most perfectly balanced mimosas I have had to date! My husband and I opted for sandwiches (Turkey and Brie melt & left coast blt). Both were unique spins on the classic and the sides of pasta salad and breakfast potatoes were perfection. We topped the meal off with cream cheese and strawberry stuffed French toast and it was the perfect combo of tang from the cheese/fruit and sweetness from the toast/syrup. We definitely recommend famous toastery for a nice brunch on the patio! read more

This place was the perfect brunch spot for us before heading back home. Arrived a bit before 10am and attempted to order the mimosa flight but had to wait for 10am. I ordered the Rumosa, and it was very good. I ended up ordering the Strawberry Stuffed French Toast and my partner ordered the 2 eggs with a side of bacon. The portion sizes were big enough that we were able to share our meals with one another. I couldn't get enough of the strawberry stuffed french toast, it was so tasty. The eggs and bacon were cooked to our liking. Staff was friendly and polite to us. It appeared to be very well maintained and clean inside. Parking in validated when you enter the building. There's a tablet in the front where you enter you tag number and have 2 hours to enjoy yourself. It's also the table that holds their condiments for to go orders. read more

Location and parking was very easy getting to this location. We came on Sunday for brunch and it wasn't too bad of a wait. They originally told us 20 minutes and it did take closer to 40 as guest were leaving, but it was what I was excepting for a Sunday. We waited outside and the host done a great job checking everyone in. Once we got seated we were introduced to the daily menu. Great options to choose from! I got the famous Hash.. and it honestly wasn't as great as I thought it could be. I expected more corn beef and less hash brown in the mix. Kind of gave it too much of a mushy taste. The Apple butter and biscuits were very good! Tasty very homemade! My sunrise mimosa was perfect! read more

The food wasn't bad however we were largely forgotten by our server, no silverware at the table, despite the pancakes advertised on the menu as "just add syrup" no syrup was at our table or given to us, until I asked a busser for some. Our server never came to check on us (no "how's your food? Need a refill on your drinks?"), we called him over from walking back from another table to ask for a refill and syrup, which he never brought, which is why we had to ask a busser who promptly brought some. Maybe with a different server it would have been better, but we won't be back because of that. read more

Food was ok, waitress spilled our coffee and then charged us for it anyways without bringing us a new cup. My wife's food and coffee were cold when they were brought to the table. Outstanding service, presentation abd flavor. Clean, prompt and delicious. Best breakfast in the state so far.

Good food, good service. Don't forget to validate parking. A nice outdoor seating for warmer weather.

This little breakfast place is such a cute little place, it's convently located next to some of Winston-Salem's best spots to hang out and they will even validate your parking for up to three hours. The inside of the restaurant features tons of natural light and beautiful art pieces, the outside is shaded with fans to help beat the heat as well as some cute little plants to liven up the outdoor dining area. The food was super good, my husband and I both got omelettes which were well seasoned and fluffy. I would definitely recommend their wild berry mimosa as it was tasty and refreshing. The wait staff was also amazing and continued to check on us to ensure our dinning experience was going well, I definitely recommend trying this restaurant and we will be going back with the rest of the family. read more

From afar it seems like they have a rooftop, but it's not theirs... at least they have a nice patio though! Visited the Famous Toastery for brunch on a Saturday morning and was met with a very blah vibe, but no worries. Our server was super cool and fun, and made tons of suggestions for us. I had a Bloody Mary but it was ok, and my roommate got a mimosa pitcher which I had some of and loved. You can pick from a few different flavors, or mix them, and we got mango/peach... yum! We came for a celebratory brunch, a little under 30 of us. They put in the back room which was nice. I'm guessing it's an overflow/large party room. Casual and chill spot. Our server was great. She was very nice and patient, and communicated well. She had some help from the other servers but it was mostly her. She took our orders in 5's so not overwhelm the kitchen, which is smart. So we we're getting our food in waves which wasn't a big deal. We were enjoying each other's company. She made sure to check in with us and refile drinks. Or other servers helped with this. Food: I ordered the breakfast biscuit with a side of breakst potatoes and a la carte order of French toast. I loved the biscuit. Delicious! The breakfast potatoes are a no for me. Not saying they're bad but I didn't care for taste. Others in my party who did order them, liked them though. The French toast was just okay. They were good but nothing to rave about. I also got a vanilla latte with added Kalhua. It was good. Overall good experience, good food. I wish we could do 4.5 rating. The only reason I don't say 5 is because the food was just ok. I'd come back. I've had their shrimp and grits like 5 years ago and remembering like those. read more
