We came here on a Monday morning before work. There was one other party aside from ours. There were a couple of people that came in for to-go orders though. They do validate parking here so make sure you do that before you're seated at the restaurant. I had the famous toastery bowl with French toast. It was really good. I loved the pork sausage and the Hollandaise sauce. The breakfast potatoes and eggs were also tasty. Because of the sauce I didn't feel as if I needed to add any salt or pepper. The Famous Toastery is a place I tried years ago and just haven't had the opportunity to come back but today was the day. It has a very artsy vibe inside and has a large patio area if you would like to sit outside. There is tons of neat artwork all in the inside which provides a really good touch to the place. The service was good they are very prompt with everything and very accommodating if you want to make any substitutions to your meal. I went with a mimosa with strawberry and mango which was pretty good! A western omelet which was ok I'm not a big fan of craft square slices as the choice of cheese in my omelet so that threw me off a tad but other than that it was I couldn't complain. Finished everything off with a bowl of fruit. Will definitely be back since I have moved back to this area but I'll try something different next go round! read more

Really enjoyed this place! Seating was plentiful and comfortable. parking was super easy with the 3 hours of validated parking. I didn't try the fresh-squeezed OJ but almost everyone around us had it and it looked so good. I got the huevos rancheros. The chorizo on it was super flavorful but not too spicy. I loved the tortilla strips instead of chips. Great flavor and texture overall. Each plate was the perfect portion, not too much and not too little. Service was quick, and I like that you just pay at the front when you're done. Definitely a spot we'd come back to! read more

My son took me to Famous Toastery for Mother's Day today. After a short wait, we were seated on the covered patio and our waiter brought our coffee and iced tea very timely. As usual for Mother's Day, l ordered the classic EggsBenedict. When our food arrived, l was surprised and sad to find that the poached eggs were tiny and perched on a slice of Canadian Bacon about 1/2 the thickness that Canadian Bacon should be, smaller in circumference than normal, and therefore overcooked. Also, the eggs were not covered in Hollandaise sauce like usual presentations and, therefore, the amount of Hollandaise sauce was sorely lacking. Service was fine and l enjoyed watching the bubble machine, but it seems that Eggs Benedict has suffered from shrinkflation, a major disappointment. read more

This is a great brunch place to sit and chat with friends and enjoy a drink or come for a lunch gathering. The only reason I am giving this 4/5 is that the service is always a bit off. I can't really think of a time that I've gone to Famous Toastery where I felt like the staff was happy to have new guests or really even happy to be at work. They just sort of go through the motions but there's no welcoming vibe. The food however is almost always AMAZING! This past time I got the Brie & Turkey Sandwich and it was super good! I'll for sure be ordering that again. The drinks (cocktails and specialty drinks like coffee) are pretty good as well! A great way to improve any dining experience here. Sit outside or inside - the service will be the same either way and you usually get your pick of inside or outside, even if there's a wait. We visited on the Sat before Mother's Day, so some of the things we ordered were special menu items. Everything was delicious and our server ... Cai was fabulous! My mom told her she was diabetic and Cai thought of everything. She made sure there was Splenda for her coffee, and brought sugar free syrup. The place was packed and the only issue I had was that the front door stayed open more than it stayed closed. It was pretty chilly and we were cold the entire meal. Happy to have found this welcoming spot for a quick and laidback lunch (or breakfast). I guess it's a chain but whatever...the food came out fresh and hearty and our server was super friendly. My Daybreak Burrito - although kinda bland - really hit the spot (also, I did not come across even one tomato inside) and the casual vibe was a good fit - outdoor patio if you want, as well. Good portions, reasonable prices and a cool neighborhood for this location, too. If you need no frills but fresh no-nonsense grub, this seems like a good choice. My roommate and I visited this past Sunday morning and were seated at a two-top by the window. Our waitress, who had blonde hair and blue eyes (unfortunately, I didn't catch her name), took our order but never returned to check on us. Another server with locs and glasses brought our food and, at the same time, handed us the check--without asking if we wanted separate checks. Throughout our meal, no one checked in to see if the food was okay, and the service overall was poor. When it was time to pay, the manager had to step in, and when I mentioned that our waitress never returned, the manager seemed indifferent. As waitresses ourselves, my roommate and I understand the usual service routine, and it felt like we were assumed to be non-tippers. Despite the poor service, I still left a decent tip. This experience was disappointing, and I hope to see improvements in both attentiveness and customer care in the future. read more

Delicious cute breakfast place. The batter of my coconut flapjack's were yummy. I opted for turkey sausage which was very good. My son got waffle with chorizo as his side meat which came in a small bowl of crumbles, so he regretted that decision. My friend got a southwestern burger which he said was great and another friend got French toast with fruit. The heater in the restaurant was down today but they had a floor heater. Service was excellent. I'm giving it 4 stars for great service and pancake batter ..but the price was just too high all around. I DoorDashed this and picked it up. This meal was absolutely delicious. I asked for a soft poach and the yolk was perfectly runny. Their house made Benedict sauce was very delicious! It appears to me like a total of half an avocado was used for the two eggs...they didn't skimp! I love cholula so I added that & truly found this to be so delicious. The corn bread that is placed on every table wasn't brought out to us, we had to ask for it. She spilled the latte and said she would bring more because she spilled it and never did. We ordered a side of bacon which also never came and we had to remind her. It still wasn't brought out and we were almost finished with our French toast, we had to ask for it again and then it finally came out. As Famous Toastery continues to raise their prices, they are also decreasing the quality. I used to eat Famous Toastery often, especially their Cobb salad. Lately, their salads have been awful. The lettuce was wilted and bitter, the eggs had raw yolks, and the chicken was tough with lots of fat. The wait staff used to be very friendly and helpful, but the new people they hired are rude and dismissive. I called and asked for the manager and got the run around until I simply hung up. I expect better quality and service and I will not eat there EVER again. read more

The western omelet was maybe as high as 3.5/5, but the potatoes with it were more like a 2/5 (cold, hard). So, one of us liked the food, the other felt like it was 'meh' at best. Atmosphere/Service: well...we caught them on a bad day...the heat was out and they were doing their best with space heaters...but it was cold in the dining area. One of us ate with their coat on. Service was adequate. Suggestion: tell people immediately if there is a problem with your dining room, maybe offer a discount, free coffee...do something. I am sure it is nearly impossible to make everyone happy with the thermostat, but no central heat when it's in the 20s is an obvious problem that needs proactive action. Value: Low. Not a fan of over $40 (total) for two people to have a bowl, an omelet, and 2 coffees in a cold dining room. Here's the thing - there are a lot of lower priced restaurants and cafes that offer decent to very good breakfast food and a much better experience for less. Great place! It's clean and there's lots of seating. They have a balcony with outside seating for a nice day to sit and eat in the shade. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The food is great! We attended brunch at famous toastery and it was amazing! They had the most perfectly balanced mimosas I have had to date! My husband and I opted for sandwiches (Turkey and Brie melt & left coast blt). Both were unique spins on the classic and the sides of pasta salad and breakfast potatoes were perfection. This place was the perfect brunch spot for us before heading back home. Arrived a bit before 10am and attempted to order the mimosa flight but had to wait for 10am. I ordered the Rumosa, and it was very good. I ended up ordering the Strawberry Stuffed French Toast and my partner ordered the 2 eggs with a side of bacon. The portion sizes were big enough that we were able to share our meals with one another. I couldn't get enough of the strawberry stuffed french toast, it was so tasty. Location and parking was very easy getting to this location. We came on Sunday for brunch and it wasn't too bad of a wait. They originally told us 20 minutes and it did take closer to 40 as guest were leaving, but it was what I was excepting for a Sunday. We waited outside and the host done a great job checking everyone in. Once we got seated we were introduced to the daily menu. Great options to choose from! Need a refill on your drinks?"), we called him over from walking back from another table to ask for a refill and syrup, which he never brought, which is why we had to ask a busser who promptly brought some. This little breakfast place is such a cute little place, it's convently located next to some of Winston-Salem's best spots to hang out and they will even validate your parking for up to three hours. The inside of the restaurant features tons of natural light and beautiful art pieces, the outside is shaded with fans to help beat the heat as well as some cute little plants to liven up the outdoor dining area. The food was super good, my husband and I both got omelettes which were well seasoned and fluffy. I would definitely recommend their wild berry mimosa as it was tasty and refreshing. We came for a celebratory brunch, a little under 30 of us. They put in the back room which was nice. I'm guessing it's an overflow/large party room. Casual and chill spot. Our server was great. She was very nice and patient, and communicated well. She had some help from the other servers but it was mostly her. She took our orders in 5's so not overwhelm the kitchen, which is smart. So we we're getting our food in waves which wasn't a big deal. We were enjoying each other's company. She made sure to check in with us and refile drinks. Or other servers helped with this. Service is always sorta maybe ok. Our server today took the order and then disappeared. There were only two other tables of diners sitting indoors. There was an abundance of waitstaff standing around. But not available to us for someone reason. Someone else brought the food. Eventually we saw our server huddled with several others around the entrance table. We had to wave to get her attention to ask for coffee refills.
