Kindred Coffee & Kitchen was okay, to say the least. I can't really speak to the ambiance since I was in and out, and there was also a Yelp event going on (yay for Yelp Elites!). I'm sure the atmosphere is nice, but I didn't get the chance to experience it. Unfortunately, I'm fairly certain the coffee made me ill. I ordered a simple iced latte with oat milk. I'm not sure if the oat milk had gone bad or if the coffee was old, but I ended up with what felt like food poisoning later on. I'm assuming it was just a one-off experience, which is why I still gave three stars. However, I probably won't be returning. read more

This place gets pretty high marks from me. A great thing about this place is the parking and the seating are plentiful. The service was great and so was the food and drinks. I personally got the Lavender scone and a hot chai latte, both of which hit the mark. I found this place from a Yelp Event and loved it. The venue is great. Easy parking, spacious interior, and an amazing back patio. The staff is also super nice and willing to go out of their way to help and make you feel appreciated. I tried the Avocado toast and it was by far one of the best avocado toasts I've had. I always ask for suggestions and this one was a really good one. I asked what flavors of Matcha they had and when she said lavender, I knew that I was going to try that one. Then she said that some people will do lavender vanilla Matcha, and that was really good! Great vibe in a quiet setting with plenty of seating and space to separate and enjoy your time. Second time visiting this gem today and it was just as great as the first visit! The decor is super cute with a community table concept and individual tables as well! The same gentleman working the first time was here today as well. They were super busy the first visit and very quiet today, but the service was just as friendly! I love how they will bring your food and drinks to your table! The food is amazing! First visit I got the pimento cheese and bacon! Today I tried the Farmer's toast! Kindred is a coffee shop in Jamestown and they have a few breakfast food options as well! I got their chai latte and their avocado toast with microgreens. The avocado toast had a lot of flavor just based off the lemon garnish they had on too and other seasoning. The microgreens also added to the flavor! This is a small hidden coffee shop in Jamestown that is just adorable. It has a rustic farmhouse look and feel. The drinks are served quickly while the food takes longer but it is one of the few coffee shops that offer savory food with your coffee. The avocado toast is the sole reason we went back. It's DELICIOUS!!!!! The avocado mouse they make in house and the flavor with the added toppings including the lemon is on point. Next time I'll ask to add some blistered tomatoes if possible though. Make it heartier! My American coffee though was terrible. I couldn't tell if it was a hard miss because of the flavored syrups they use, as it had no flavor, or because the beans were burnt. Either way I brought it home and added my own flavored creamer and was able to drink it then. The chai latte my partner had was delicious! That avocado toast and the blueberry muffin are showstoppers in my opinion! Servicenow is always impeccable as the owners are incredible humans. Casual coffee shop. I don't recommend working from there though as the seating is hard wood and not comfortable for remote working. But go get breakfast! read more

It's #ThankYouThursday and today I wanted to focus on a business that has become a favorite of mine, that I originally discovered as part of a Yelp Event. Yes! Believe it or not, I discover new loves through my own Yelp events all the time, and Kindred Coffee has really become my spot. Whenever I need a pick me up, especially paired with a healthy and fresh bite, I love going over to Kindred in the heart of Jamestown. The Main st. setting, particularly on a nice day, just has that vibe everyone wants to find in their coffee shop. The coffee is made by true coffee aficionados, I can't tell you how many conversations I've had with the owner, Greg, where he dives deep into his vast knowledge of the subject, and I just have to stand by and admire. I'm kind of a coffee rookie, it's not something I drank at all until a couple years ago, but through social and professional need, it's become something I like to have on occasion. Speaking of things I didn't know I was missing, the avocado toast here is simply on a different level. I admit, I consider avocado toast pretty humorous normally. Sure, healthy and delicious, but also... can I not just do this myself? The answer is yes, but, not at the level they are doing it at Kindred. There is a very specific mix of spices and citrus notes happening on their version that I don't know that I could replicate. It is far and away the best avo-toast I've had, and only one of two that I would bother to order. It seems crazy to me that this place is the only coffee shop adorning a brilliant stretch of small town charm on Main street, but I am so glad it's here. I am a sucker for an affagato and I can't find them at very many places here in the Triad, so I jumped at the opportunity to check out this new coffee shop! This morning I had the pleasure of meeting Greg, one of the owners of Kindred Coffee. One of my favorite things about this place is that it is a family owned small business. I love supporting small businesses. Another happens to be the nice outdoor patio they have, it's a great big space! Greg was super helpful and willing to make me my favorite coffee drink though it was not on the menu. He also explained how they make most of their pastries in house daily except they partner with a bakery for their cruffins which are also brought in daily. Fantastic coffee made professionally. Real deal. I was here for a Yelp event, but ended up lingering for a while and buying extra food/coffee. I had an iced americano and they executed on it well. It was strong and I could tell that the coffee product quality was high. I also had a lemon cruffin and coffee cake muffin. Both were delish, but I really liked the cruffin. It was flakey and the lemon filling was perfectly tart. The coffee cake muffin was super filling. I ended up sharing half of it with others because there was so much. Not a complaint tho. Complaining about too much delicious pastry would be unhinged. This would be a nice place to work on your laptop or have a coffee date. It seemed to be attracting the post- yoga class crowd. This coffee shop in Jamestown has an absolutely wonderful ambiance. It's clean, inviting, relaxed, and with plenty of space. The person working the day we came was friendly and very helpful picking items off the menu when we were feeling indecisive. Most importantly for a coffee shop, our drinks were delicious. We had a Cortado and an Iced Caramel Latte, both came fast and tasted great. Importantly for me, they were forward with high quality coffee and not hiding behind a ton of syrup like many coffee shops try to do. Some of us truly enjoy a quality coffee and not syrup! The food options were on another level. We got the Bacon Pimento Cheese Toast which was on high quality bread and was balanced between salty, savory, and a bit of tang from the balsamic glaze. We also had the Nutella Toast with fresh fruit which was sweet, flavorful, and yet not overpowering on the sugar at the same time. Both were very filling portions. I'm loving this cute coffee shop. I was introduced to Kindred Coffee through a Yelp event, and had a very good experience. It's a decent size, very clean, quiet space with, what I believe, is a jazzy LoFi music playing in the background. There's also a spacious deck with plenty of outdoor seating. You can easily sit and lose track of time because of the very chill vibe. The only thing I dislike is that it closes at 2pm. I would love to stop by here after work. Instead, I would have to wait until the weekend. The server was very friendly and helpful when I was deciding on a toast to compliment my Affagato. The Nutella Toast was it. I was able to swap out bananas for blueberries. The bread was the perfect level of toasted. The right amount of crisp. I was able to eat it without feeling like I was tearing it up or destroying it because it was crunchy. The fruit was fresh, and there was enough to actually cover the toast. I also got the Avocado Toasts to go. This one comes with two toasts. That one is sooo savory. An interesting combination of house avocado mousse, feta cheese, honey, lemon, greens, and red pepper flakes. It surprised me completely because I did not expect it to blend so well. I would never expect a coffee shop to have food this delicious. I stopped into kindred, coffee and kitchen when I was in Jamestown this past week, and Man, have I been missing out. I grabbed a lavender Matcha latte, which was absolutely delightful. I also got the bacon pimento cheese toast, which was incredible. I ordered a cruffin (a croissant * muffin) and left it there and the staff was extremely nice and told me to come back anytime to get one since I didn't live in the area. Kindred Coffee is a cute, quaint little place with a home town feel. The greeting upon entering was great. I had a lovely conversation on which food I was thinking about ordering. Ordering was simple and they bring your food out to you when it's ready. I was between the chicken salad and the bacon pimento cheese toast. With Kindred's suggestion, I went with the bacon pimento cheese toast and was not disappointed. You eat with your eyes first and this dish was beautiful. I had no idea what a bacon rose was until this dish came out. The pimento cheese, on that toasted everything bread, with bacon, tomato and arugula topped with that balsamic glaze, LET ME TELL YOU! Simple yet AMAZING. I wanted one more piece but that's just me being greedy because the order comes with two pieces. I enjoy coming to local coffee spots. This is exactly the kind of place that Jamestown needed! A great little place to meet up for coffee, a lite meal, or Affogatos. A thing I never heard about from my Italian ancestors, they were apparently keeping secrets from us all those years. Anyway, the affogato hits the spot. A sweet treat with a blast of espresso! Yum! I didn't eat any of their other items but others around me did. I asked, they said the food was really good. There's good seating inside and ample seating outside, making this a great space to do a little coffee chat meeting with colleagues. Where do I start...okay left start from the start. Upon entering this establishment I was immediately in love. It's so cozy and neatly decorated. The staff was amazing explaining any and all questions that I had. We got a couple lattes and they were very good. We also got an affagato and it was Devine! My favorite item was the Honey Butter Cruffin though. I had to fight my kids for a part of it. It was flaky and light and so yummy. Imagine a croissant drizzled with honey butter and shaped like a muffin. It's like a warm flaky Kings Hawaiian roll. It was so good that I forgot to get a picture of it. Can't wait to come back to get another one and to try some other ice cream options. Kindred is a wonderful coffee shop. Although I have yet to try their food, this really is the perfect coffee spot. The outdoor seating is perfect during the warm seasons. Thought to try out a new to us coffee shop. It's been there for a couple of years...my bad. Nice counter with extensive wall menu. The coffee machine was of a rocket science sort. Don't know how it works but it makes a great cup of coffee. Very nice people, the owners, and pleasant conversation. Adorable coffee shop! The decor is sort of farmhouse-industrial chic. The affogato was yummy and my daughter enjoyed her matcha-lavender cold coffee drink. I tried it and was surprised at how tasty and refreshing it was. Some suggestions: stay open later! 2 pm is an early time to close. College kids , such as my daughter, like to go to coffee shops late in the evening. I recall there was a coffee shop in Jamestown (15ish years ago) where we would meet for evening book club. They are missing out on that business! My daughter told me about Kindred coffee shop when she tried to get a coffee late one afternoon - they were closed. Some soft/cozy chairs and soft couches would be appreciated. I do love the pillows that are at one table. There is a nice outdoor area too. It would benefit from some potted plants/flowers. It's a great study/work space the only downside is that they close at 2pm so make sure to come earlier. Short Review: Awesome service. Delicious. Clean. And affordable. Long Review: Amazing! They just got themselves a regular. I went in last week and ordered the seasonal tea (peppermint as of this review) and a cinnamon muffin. I wasn't expecting much, but boy was I in for a shock! The tea was excellent, the peppermint flavor was easy to taste throughout while not being overpowering (and the aroma was wonderful). The muffin was incredible! For one it's pretty large and two the surprise cinnamon filling inside was awesome. The server was polite and approachable, before handing me the tea he let me know how long to let it sit before drinking. The dining area was spotless! Also why are they closed on Mondays? Who doesn't want a coffee on Monday mornings to start off the first day of the week. It's about time that Jamestown got a coffee shop! I was so excited that this place opened up because I have been anxiously waiting for a quaint coffee to open up downtown. After my first visit, I was immediately struck by the kindness of the employees and friendly atmosphere. This place immediately felt like a familiar hometown coffee shop that is found in every small town across America, which I loved. The coffee itself was delicious and well brewed, which is enough to make me want to keep coming back. However, I was incredible surprised by the food! When I read the menu and saw "avocado toast", I figured it would be your typical avocado slides or spread on whole wheat toast-- but it was not! Not only was the presentation eye-catching but the dish came well-seasoned with lemon, greens, feta, and other garnishes.
