I've been a fan of DeBeen since it first opened in HP as it was the perfect place to get a pick me up before going to work nearby. I've since moved to Greensboro, so it's been a while, but as soon as I walked through the door and caught a whiff of coffee and their delicious baked goods, I was reminded why this was my favorite coffee shop in HP. Debeen Espresso is a charming, female-owned local gem that combines the art of great coffee with delicious, in-house gluten free and vegan baked goods. From the moment you step inside, the inviting atmosphere and warm smiles from the baristas set the tone for a great experience. I had the pleasure of trying their banana walnut muffin, and let me just say--it was the moistest muffin I've ever tasted. The balance of banana, walnut, and spice was perfect, and it paired wonderfully with my almond milk latte. There's an array of gluten free and vegan muffin and cookie options as well as additional treats (overnight oats, carrots and hummus, etc) in the fridge. It's clear that Debeen Espresso takes pride in not just the quality of their coffee, but in everything they do. The service was fast and friendly and the shop itself is cozy, with plenty of comfortable seating both inside and out. We opted to sit on the outdoor patio, where additional seating provides a chance to enjoy the fresh air while sipping your favorite drink. I love love love coffee shops that open early and DeBeen opens early. 6am on weekdays and 7am on weekends. I was though the door and ordering my coffee at 6:15 this morning and starting my work day online. DeBeen is comfortable and eclectic with an assortment of tables and chairs and seating arrangements that are varied. I found a seat for me and my coffee and my laptop that was next to a power outlet. I loved the quaint seating inside and they have outdoor seating for patrons with pups too. Parking fills up in front quickly, it's great that there is additional parking alongside the store as well. This is a great, cozy little spot! It's got an indoor fountajn, some cozy couches, some good places to study and work quietly as well. My one recommendation is to add some small cushions and pillows to the wood seating for more comfort, and maybe some tabletop games to play as well. The drinks are made pretty well! I stopped in this morning for my coffee fix, and they were super nice and accommodating! I got a large iced butterscotch oatmilk latte, and it is delicious! They were fast, and I headed out quickly, but not before noticing the insanely cozy ambiance of the shop! The ceiling is coffee bean bags, and their front counter is supported by old syrup bottles. There's a whole fountain in the middle of the shop that reminds me of the show "Friends." DeBeen is the hometown coffee shop you'd see in a sitcom or movie- the coolest vibes and best coffee around!! Absolutely in love with this cute cafe nestled in High Point. Super comfy, cute and cozy. You feel welcomed as soon as you walk in and you wanna stay. They offer great coffees and tea choices. First trip I got the chai coffski which was super good. Of course with oat milk. It was perfectly chai but had that espresso for the zing! Second trip, they offered a Christmas in July special! I ordered the frosted candy cane which was white chocolate and peppermint. Iced and oat milk. I haven't yet tried any of their other treats but all baked good are vegan! And there's a huge variety. I recently stopped by DeBeen when looking for a good place to get some writing done and I remembered coming in the past for a Yelp Elite event. DeBeen was just starting out then, but now it seems like it's booming. In fact, I heard some of the staff talking familiarly to what must have been an elderly returning customer, so it's clear this company has found its place in the community. The interior is very relaxed and I found a comfy sofa where I could pull out my laptop and write. I was drinking water, but I chose to pick up a slice of strawberry brown sugar cake, and let me tell you, it was phenomenal. I loved the vibe at this cafe. This is my first visit and I was looking for a place that I could just sit and relax and feel comfortable. I suppose this was a serendipitous visit with my salad to this little cafe on the corner with ample space to sit and spread out. The large fountain with koi fish create a pleasant white noise that lets you be introspective instead of conscious of your surroundings. Music is also playing softly. The decor is eclectic and colorful. It's a well-lived in and comfortable space with art for sale on the walls. Service was great. My barista was super friendly and helpful. This was my first London Fog, though I've heard of them. She suggested some vanilla pumps for flavor. I had it prepared with Earl Gray tea, oat milk (which was foamed when I got my drink) and 1/2 a pump of vanilla syrup. I grabbed an Amish bar for a snack from the bakery items. All the baked goods look so good and they are made with quality ingredients and health in mind so I didn't mind indulging. The Amish bar was really good. The frosting gave it that extra special something. They also have gelato and ice cream, oh my!! This cafe is on Lexington just a few minutes down from the Main drag of Main Street in High Point. Parking is plentiful here. A cute little yoga studio is right next door. I hope to be back soon for more pleasant lunches. read more

I like coming here because it's not a chain restaurant and there's usually a spot for me to sit and the lighting is great. Plus, it's a cozy environment. There is a variety in the customer demographic and that makes me feel comfortable. I've been here a few times and I usually order some vegan baked goods along with my beverage, but I stopped doing that. I'll just stick to the drinks going forward. Sometimes I am met with enthusiasm. Sometimes I am greeted with indifference, and sometimes I have to remind people that I'm there to order (usually when it's slow). The truly impressive selection includes the caffeinated and non-caffeinated alike, ranging from a simple cup to a nitro cold brew to any number of specialty drinks. I'm partial to the banana bread latte, but there are plenty of promising permutations. While I cannot speak to the baked goods, the coffee usually lives up to its promise. That said, while some find the interior, laden with artwork and merch, to be endearingly quirky, it can also be a bit visually overwhelming, and pre-COVID, DeBeen was often not a quiet or relaxing space. Baristas are personable more times than not though you may occasionally encounter one who seems put out by having to make a beverage. Lastly, if you do not snag a parking space in front, the side/back lot can be dicey. DeBeen Espresso is a five-star coffeehouse for High Point. It's been around since 1997. I was just starting high school then (Central) and one of my classmates (Lindsay) worked at DeBeen. She invited us in and that was probably one of my first experiences at an independent coffeehouse. I don't remember specifically, but I'm guessing I was probably overwhelmed by the variety of coffee drinks available and the artsy, "hipster" atmosphere (I don't think we used that term back then). Fast-forward 20 years later (and older) and I have a newfound appreciation for this place. I don't live in High Point anymore, but my parents still do. When I came to visit recently, I brought my coffee-and-yoga-loving girlfriend here (her first visit to High Point) and she immediately fell in love with the place as soon as we stepped through the doors. It spoke to her. DeBeen doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside, you'll find a fairly spacious and colorful coffee shop with eclectic decor featuring local artwork and a working fountain with several fish including a large koi. It's a hippie-styled cafe in a conservative, old money zip code. Kudos to owner Debbie for staying open in this spot for 20 years now. One thing that's neat and makes DeBeen unique is there is a yoga studio inside (Pure Light Yoga). The coffee shop sells a wide array of coffee and espresso-based drinks including self-serve varieties, drip coffee, macchiatos and cortados, and pour overs; teas like chai and green tea; smoothies and more. You can purchase blends and varietals by the pound (beans roasted in Greensboro). Food-wise, they sell snacks and treats like fresh muffins, brownies, oatmeal bars, and granola. They carry gelato and sorbet from nearby Sweet Josephine's. They also have various merchandise for sale such as DeBeen-branded bags, cups, mugs, and T-shirts. My girlfriend and I were headed to Winston and wanted some cold and yummy caffeinated beverages to take with us on the road. I got an iced breve (American variation of a latte) in their largest size, a "triple grande" (24 oz). "Grande" is 16 oz and "double grande" is 20 oz. The drink was made with three shots of espresso with half and half over ice. It cost $5.25. I added caramel and vanilla flavoring for $0.65 extra. They have over 36 flavors to choose from. My girlfriend got an iced latte, grande size ($4.50), made with soy milk (+$0.70) and added vanilla flavoring (+$0.65). The total for both drinks after tax (6.75%) and before tip was $11.10. The drinks were delicious. I especially enjoyed my breve which was sweet (but not too sweet), creamy, and refreshing. I can be sensitive to lots of caffeine and sugar, but I could barely feel the three shots of espresso in this drink. On our way out, I noticed some enticing seasonal drinks: frozen green tea, white chocolate rose mocha, peach vanilla cream Italian soda, and coconut latte. If I ever returned and had the chance, I'd like to try them. Service was great. I wish I'd gotten the name of our barista because I'd like to mention her in my review. She was really nice. If you want to sit outside, they've got some chairs underneath the awning (along the plant-decorated storefront) and a couple tables on the makeshift parking lot "patio." read more

We just moved to the Triad area 3 weeks ago. I'm definitely a coffee junkie and coming from NJ which is the land of Burnt Inconsistent Coffee from Dunkin Donuts (on every street corner), it's pleasantly surprising to see Starbuck's & Krispy Kreme everywhere down here. But, I do love coffee shops much more than chain places. They're artsy, much more comfy cozy and I feel good about supporting local businesses. After researching coffee shops in High Point, I decided to try Debeen Espresso first; my best friend (and fellow coffee snob-junkie) from Jersey is visiting this week and he was excited to try it too. This place rocks. Lots of coffee, tea and smoothie concoctions to choose from. This first visit (yesterday) we chose an iced organic brown sugar latte and a caramel caffe brevé. Both were absolutely perfect and the service from Jason was polite, friendly and hospitable. This place is pure happiness & zen for us. We're both pretty scientific photographers so it was lovely to see local artwork being displayed. New age lounge music, a beautiful fountain with koi fish, local pottery for sale, extremely friendly service and yummy baked goods like lemon blueberry walnut bread and homemade granola bars. Went to a Rocker's Baseball game and if the an opposing batter was struck out you can take your ticket to DeBeen for a free coffee. Walked in and the lady said she was sorry but it could only be used the day after the game. I wasn't aware of the details of the free coffee and then she proceeded to try to sell me a cup of coffee 'because it didn't cost that much.' She probably could have made me a happy customer if she was a little more flexible with their policy. Too many establishments have 'ducks' working for them rather than 'eagles.'
