Stopped in to Uncle Cheesecakes on Valentine's Day to pick up something sweet for my wife and I. Greeted by Uncle cheesecake himself, I was a bit alarmed to walk in to an almost empty cooler, but he quickly assured me he had plenty of fresh cakes in the back getting cut up and put in containers. He was very friendly, and quick to offer me their valentines specials, but I was on a mission and knew what I wanted. Knowing what my wife likes, and what I like, it was quick, to pick, a slice of peanut butter cup (not pictured) for her and a slice of Oreo cheesecake for me. Both looked fantastic, and after dinner, I was able to confirm they were even better tasting than they looked, creamy with the perfect amount of sweetness. Great visit, both my wife and I were happy with the sweet desert, easy to see how he made it on the Food Network's show Chopped! We'll be back, no doubt!

My wife and I were looking for a sweet to finish the Sunday (5:45 pm) and found Uncle Cheesecake trought Yelp. When we arrive we were greeted by the actual Uncle Cheesecake! He was so nice and in that moment prepare a blueberry cream for my wife, the options in the cooler were not her favorites. The slice was great and service excellent! We will come back for sure.

This is the place that made me like cheesecake again. I know what you are thinking... what kind of monster doesn't like cheesecake, and why is he in charge of Yelp in the Triad? Very simple. Every cheesecake I've had in my life was extremely rich, very dense, and mostly just in one very plain traditional flavor. The cheesecake at Uncle Cheesecake is different, and to me, in the best way. His cheesecake not only comes in a huge variety of flavors, but the cheesecake is more airy and light, it makes it so that a small spoonful isn't going to overpower you, I really enjoy it, though I am sure it is personal preference. My favorite is the Reese's cup cheesecake, which is no surprise, chocolate and peanut butter were meant to be together. Following that, it's the strawberry shortcake for me, which he says is his signature item. I can see why. It is so well balanced. This would be one I could order a whole cake, no problem. His store is mainly designed for take out, but there are a few tables inside and out. It's a great place to have dessert if you are dining at one of the many good restaurants in this area. Go see Unc!

Really good cheesecake! The prices have gone up, but again, really good cheesecake ! We got to meet the " Uncle " himself, very friendly and conversational. The cabinet was pretty bare, but we were there end of day, they still had our favorites, Oreo and Reese's slices, so we were happy customers.

I came here because a friend recommended it and I'm glad they did. For my first time there I ordered the Turtle Cheesecake and Bread Pudding. Both were delicious but I'll say my favorite was the Bread Pudding since I was in the mood for a warm dessert. Both desserts flavors were delicious. The Bread Pudding was moist and they poured caramel sauce on it when I bought it. The sauce it soaked in was perfect. The Turtle Cheesecake had a good Oreo crust to cheesecake ratio. I ordered my desserts early on a Saturday morning as I was close by. Thanks to the time I went there wasn't a line. I also ordered my desserts to go as I was out running errands. They do have indoor seating if you want to eat indoors. I plan on going back to try their other desserts and I'd recommend you try this place

This cheesecakery was recently featured in Our State magazine, so I immediately added it to my list of places to visit. The cheesecake itself is fluffy and creamy, and there are several flavors to choose from: Oreo, turtle, Reese's, strawberry shortcake, and many more. Uncle Cheesecake can also create custom cakes for a special occasion! COVID-19 measures: dining room is closed for in-room eating. Staff members are wearing masks.

(3.5 stars) Greensboro firefighter Daniel Gray and his wife set up shop in this spot off Hickswood Road a few years back and have attracted quite a following since. If nothing else, the assortment justifies the hype. Uncle Cheesecake offers cheesecakes (including keto-friendly), cupcakes, bites, brownies, cake pops, dessert tacos (!!), lemonades, and slushies in a variety of flavors, several of which (such brownie bottom choco strawberry cheesecake and cherry Cheerwine cupcakes) are rarely found elsewhere. Anyone with a sweet tooth may have a hard time making decisions here. The cheesecake here is on the tangy side, which may surprise those expecting something sweeter. This actually allows the flavors of the toppings to shine, and in most cases the combinations work well. The cupcakes are more of a hit (the aforementioned Cheerwine) or miss (strawberry daiquiri - it sounds better on paper) affair, but the weekly BOGO nights are conducive to trying out different flavors. Inside, the bakery has little ambiance to speak of, which is hardly an issue given the amount of takeout business during a pandemic. Of a potentially greater concern: the number of maskless folks (owner included) you may encounter in a smallish space (though in fairness, this may not have been reflective of their norm). Alex Amoroso continues to hold the Triad's cheesecake crown, but Uncle Cheesecake should not be overlooked as an alternative. A multitude of fun flavors and dessert options make it worth a visit.

This was a surprise treat for me, making it all the more sweeter! But I honestly did enjoy these cakes, especially the turtle brownie. The cheesecake was also nice, and I'd like to try other offerings from this place.

Cute cheesecake shop in high point. They also have cupcakes & cake pops. I'm not a HUGE cheesecake person, but these were very good. Really flavorful & creamy. Not overly sweet either. The space was clean the only thing was no one was at the front of house when I walked in but a nice young man came out to assist me. I think I will try the cupcakes next time I'm in the area.

    Strawberry shortcake was Devine!!

I'm not sure if they do consignment style shops within the gift shop, or if it's all under the same business, but it's arranged in a bunch of mini sections that all kind of have a different aesthetic. It was a bit maze-like, but I have no doubt they sell something in here for everyone. Like the gift shop, the bakery had huge variety. Who knew there were so many types of cake? I ended up getting a carrot cake latte and a heart shaped macaron. It was only after I had ordered my latte with oat milk, checked out (including paying the up-charge for oat milk), and waited several minutes that they told me they were out of oat milk. This was disappointing, as I paid my extra for the oat milk, yes, but also because I don't really want a latte in general without it. Regardless, it was too late, so I just told them to do it with 2%. The latte was okay but I didn't love it. It mostly tasted sweet and like cinnamon. Which I guess is more or less what carrot cake tastes like? The menu said it came with a cream cheese cold foam or whipped cream (I don't remember which) but it came out with plain whipped cream. The espresso was a little bitter - maybe burnt or shocked. The macaron was gorgeous, but didn't have a macaron taste or texture. It was hard like cookie. A macaron should be light and airy, and the shell should almost collapse under a bite. I had to chomp through this one. I am not sure if it was stale, a bad batch, or if their "macarons" are just "macaron shaped cookies" by design.

But, I do need to advise anyone who is unwaveringly accustomed to the Italian and Portuguese bakeries of New England (at least in the 1980s), and similar places, the pastries here aren't quite at that level. The pastries I tried were a little dense and shriveled, with a slight sour taste (which could've also been due to some uneven baking, erring on the overbaked side). In an apple filled item, the small amount of apples weren't quite soft and sweet enough, as well. Overall, the pastries were nearer to those of a very talented home baker than the polished work of a traditional professional pastry shop. Of course, for this specific region, this will be an enjoyable stop. With that in mind, I'm not surprised there are long lines; it must be very exciting to encounter a shop like this for the first time. There are very few other bakeries making pastries of this type, much less good ones. It's very, very hard to make excellent pastries. But, if you come from a land rich with bakeries, just set your expectations appropriately. Plus, there is the critical difference between New England and North Carolina bakeries: Would you rather have pastries that are sensational from sullen and unpredictably snappish people? ...or pastries that are decent and charming from laid-back and friendly people?

I was pretty taken aback by how many dessert options they had. Not only did they have a plethora of types of desserts, but they had sooo many flavors/varieties of each one. A dozen different variations of cheesecakes, several cupcake varieties, a dozen different kinds of macarons, several different cakes, tiramisu, tres leches, banana pudding, edible cookie dough, more cookies than I could name, brownies, eclairs, and more that I'm sure I have forgotten. If you can name it, I'm sure they have it. I've been looking for somewhere nearby to get a proper macaron (as opposed to a hard, macaron shaped cookie without the traditional texture) at a reasonable price point. This definitely met those criteria, so of course we tried a flower shaped macaron. It had the perfect, delicate cookie and that classic, light almondy flavor. We also had a brownie batter cookie, which was delicious and reminds me of something I would have saved on Pinterest a decade ago but never gotten around to making, much less as well as they do. Though there was a line inside, we were served super quickly by friendly staff, and found a nice seat outside in the sun. They also had abundant indoor seating. I sent pictures of what we wanted, and she was very accommodating. Being nearly 2500 miles away, I was very nervous about this order and contacted Oossie a lot, and she never made me feel like I was bothering her. Fast forward to the day of the event, and unfortunately her delivery driver was hit while headed to our drop-off. Causing irreparable damage to a portion of our order. The bakery called us immediately, and then went into action and in a flash worked furiously to remake as many of the cookies as possible in order to fulfill as much of our order as they could. The cookies that arrived were gorgeous, tasted delicious and although it was less than we had expected, they were amazing!
