I love supporting local businesses and this is my favorite when it comes to coffee! I always go for the same yummy drink- the brown sugar latte with almond milk. It's a perfect mix of coffee and sweetness without being overwhelmingly sweet. I still feel like I'm drinking coffee and not an"fru-fru" drink, as I call them. The inside of DeBeen is super cute and comfy. It's a perfect place to meet up with a friend for a cup and conversation. My only suggestion would be to expand the snacks. I absolutely adore this place. It has it's own hippie charm about it. The people that work there are just as interesting. I don't deviate a lot in what I order, which is relatively boring. I drink Iced Coffee with some random 1 pump of flavor, with a shot of espresso. They have a lovely array of coffee, espresso beverages, teas, and blended drinks. On occasion, I'll enjoy an iced tea. They are really great about brewed coffee. They always offer at least 4 or 5 different types every day. They aren't always piping hot, but nonetheless delicious. They also sell baked goods for every type of person. (Gluten free, sugar-filled, vegan, and a few in between) I personally love their homemade granola bars. Probably my favorite thing about this place is that they support local artists, and vendors. They feature an artist of the week and sell their art throughout the week. DeBeen is the best place I have found in High Point to get consistently good drip coffee with a great variety every morning. The fact that it's a local business makes it all the better. The drips seem to rotate with some frequency (Cinnamon Twist being my personal favorite), while some of the daily regulars stay in place (House Blend, Unburnt from Seattle, etc). I have not tried any of the specialty drinks or baked goods because I'm a pretty boring black coffee kind of guy, but they do look amazing, and I would not hesitate to give them a try if you like to use lots of adjectives when ordering your coffee. Also, consider joining the rewards program if you even think you may visit with some frequency because it is one of the more generous coffee shop programs. Extra discounts and free stuff just for drinking the nectar of the gods we all need to not murder people early in the morning, am I right?! There is not a better coffee shop in the area in my opinion then DeBeen. Skip the sugary Starbucks and come here! You actually know what's going into your drink here. And they'll do whatever you want. If you want sugar great! But if not they don't sneak it in with odd ingredients and syrups you don't know about. There whole been coffee is also great. The reason I am not giving this place 5 stars is because I did not purchase anything, so I am not sure about the taste in their drinks or snacks. However, the unique business layout and decor definitely have earned a 5. I had a brief meeting here for work and really enjoyed the ambiance. What a neat place! A lounge, coffee tables, a water fountain with real Koi fish and even a separate yoga room ($10/class) all in one location. DeBeen is a great place to study or get some work done. I was looking for a place to get some work done while in High Point and went to Yelp for some suggestions. The inside of this place looked pretty big from the pictures and it looked like it had plenty of seating. The Yelp pictures did not mislead me. There are multiple two toppers and some larger tables as well. There is a bar type area where you can pull up a bar stool, and there are also some arm chairs and a couch area. This place has such a quirky and fun atmosphere. There is so much for your eyes to take in that you will never get tired of just perusing the place. The ceiling is made up of coffee bags, the walls are lined with local photography and art, and in the middle of the shop is a rather large fountain that is stocked with koi. The place has a nice relaxing vibe and it is not too loud, so you can probably get some work done without headphones, but it is not deathly quiet like a library. The wifi is fast and free. The only thing that I've tried from the beverage department is an iced black coffee, but that was very good. I would love to come back in and try some of their sweet treats and other coffee selections. Remember: If you check in on Yelp, you get a free 12 oz. coffee with the purchase of a sweet treat. Let me start off by saying that I really want to like this coffee shop. It's just down the road from me, it's local, it's unique, etc. But there are things that need to change in order for me to update my review. First of all, our recent Groupon purchase was a total cluster. When we brought in the paper copy the cashier didn't know how to handle it. I was under the assumption I was going to get a gift card for the full Groupon amount and use it over time. Instead, the terms were $5 each use. Her solution to the lack of a gift card (or any other option) was to hand write 5 small boxes on my paper copy and have me carry it around. DeBeen would initial and date each time I used it. Wow, high tech. Risk of losing paper these days? Huge. Additionally, it's a "use it or lose it" proposition; meaning, if you didn't spend $5 on your visit, the rest vaporized. Dumb. And depending on who was the cashier that day impacted how things were handled. Until they fix this my suggestion is to avoid any sort of Groupon deal. Finally, the staff, overall, just isn't super friendly. I got the vague impression each of my 12 visits that I was bothering them by doing business there. Perhaps it's an age thing or something, but in retail you need to make it clear that you're excited someone is forking over nearly $5 for a coffee drink. I've seen only stoic faces when I interact. No small talk, no "how is your day going?" nada. The positive things I have to say are: 1) The brown sugar latte is really tasty 2) The owner seemed nice and interesting to speak to on the rare occasion I saw her. 3) The inside is unique (albeit weird IMO). I just feel like the "heart" of DeBeen is missing. The passion of small business ownership seems low and the hired help seems disinterested in clientele and what they're doing in general. If DeBeen doesn't fix these issues it may have to change names to HasBeen. I'd be happy to update this review if things change in the future. read more

I love ambiance of this place! It's a cozy, quaint little coffee shop. Their ceiling is covered in coffee bean bags and they have a fountain in the middle of their sitting area. They even have a side room where they offer yoga. Customer service has always been fantastic. If you like peanut butter, I highly recommend the Newman. It's a cold frappe containing white chocolate and peanut butter. My ONLY con would be a couple muffins I have tried there were dry but overall it's a great spot to hangout & relax. read more

Stopped in for the first time and the place was cute! It's on the corner of the intersection, so don't miss your turn to get into their driveway. The people that work there are beyond nice and willing to answer any of your questions. Their cold brew drip coffee is pretty good! My boyfriend got their Kumbucha. It's almost double the price for a bottle compared to places that sell it in Orlando, which seems kind of crazy, but it tasted pretty darn good! The place is very inviting and cute. I've been coming to Debeen for the past 3 years for the best coffee in High Point. The shop is small but there's always somewhere to sit to do homework, talk with a friend or just enjoy a cup of coffee. The store gives off a warm and inviting feeling and the coffee is delicious. The menu is extensive and there are always about 25 flavored syrups so I can try something new every time I come to Debeen. They offer four drink sizes which I find to be very convenient. Debeen also offers some snacks such as homemade oat bars, muffins, cookies and chocolate-covered espresso beans. The espresso beans are my personal go-to snack. The service is quick and easy and if you're getting a coffee to go, you can be in and out within 5 minutes. I highly recommend Debeen to any coffee connoisseurs or anyone looking for a relaxing hangout location. read more

OK so I really like this place. I stoped by tonight for a cuppa coffee and I got a white mocha and even though they were closed the The worker rob! who I think might be the owner was very nice and said come on in I'll get you a cuppa coffee. The price was great but the coffee was even better thank you for your wonderful service I will be stopping by again very soon for a cuppa coffee. "How long do you pull them? "1.5 ounces." "Long please. Do you only have paper cups?" There were tall stacks everywhere. "No, we have porcelain." "I'll take one of those, please." More surprise. And yeah, I know it's about grind and bean, and machine and all of that, but they seriously pulled it just like I like it, with enough cream and in an appropriately-sized cup (warmed with hot water before they dropped a shot into it- nice touch).
