Absolutely one of my favorite coffee shops in the area. Union coffee sits downtown adjacent-close enough for a drink if you're in the downtown area, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. It's next to a barbershop on the corner directly across from Elon's law school. I really enjoy the positive upbeat atmosphere of Union coffee. There's always good music playing-a good mix of new and old music from different genres. The staff is always happy to help and positive. The natural light is amazing for a good pick me up. Now to the coffee-I absolutely love their different blends and brews. This is a coffee shop that has excellent coffee. There's a rotating variety and I've always tried something new and have never been disappointed. They give a good breakdown of what the flavor notes are in the coffee and they're always spot on. On my most recent visit, I tried the Pickle Back-espresso, pickle, juice, and tonic water. It was reasonably priced. (about $4), refreshing, and tasty. Words, I never thought I would utter with such a crazy combination. It's definitely worth a visit, stop by and try something new!
Union Coffee serves up a robust smooth cup of cappuccino. Coffee beans sourced from Night Swim Roastery (my favorite roast of Charlotte). In my short stay in Greensboro, this cafe struck me as inviting and the spot for locals to get comfortable over coffee.
Union Coffee is a cool little spot with plenty of space to chill and maybe even get some work done. Their espresso coffee is outstanding and they have plenty of good options. It's nice inside, and it's got the right amount of cozy notes. Service is solid.
Revisited Union coffee after yoga today and our experience was just as good as the last. Make sure to sign up to receive points. I was able to use mine to get a $1 off my coffee today. They were finishing up run club when we arrived, so check them out on Sunday mornings if you're interested. Loved sitting by the window and people watching as we were sipping our coffees. They're also dog friendly so we got some pup pets in as well. Always a solid experience!
This was my first time trying Union Coffee. I am not a coffee drinker so I wasn't sure I'd find something. My coworker said let's go. I went and found the most amazing drink. The watermelon cucumber mint lemonade is amazing. It is seasonal so go soon. The service is phenomenal everyone is so friendly and helpful. This is a cute coffee shop that is a great place to hang out, read, people watch, or work. I really liked this experience. I also had the strawberry muffin and it was delicious. I can't wait to go back!!
Such a cute place with the nicest staff! The coffee was exactly what I needed to start my day, and the spinach parmesan bagel was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend if you're looking for a great local spot!
Wanted to say thanks to the owner, Daniel, for replying to my last review and addressing my concerns. I happened to be passing through GSO and after messaging with Daniel, I decided to give Union coffee another chance. I'm so glad I did, because the coffee tasted even better than I remembered, the latte art was beautiful, and the employees were so sweet and helpful. I also loved the cute messages on the cups - I don't remember that from the last time I was here - but they made me smile. I take back what I said before, I 100% will come back again and again!
Came to visit my fav employee Michael K! He did a great job at convincing me to get a few delicious treats to try such as the strawberry muffin! I had both their Greenlight seasonal drink, as well as the ambitious Pickleback seasonal drink. Safe to say pickle and expresso taste kinda good?? Overall great enviroment, nice bathrooms. And free wifi. I love the music that they play in here, and will be back soon :)
In our daily quest for great coffee served in a comfortable atmosphere and inviting vibe we decided to swing by Union Coffee in downtown. If you have not been here it is right next to Elon Law School on Friendly. I had a large hot latte (6$) and it was beautifully presented and has a rich creamy taste. Very satisfying. My wife had a lavender latte ($5) with oat milk ($1). It too was very neatly presented and was delicious. As fellow reviewers have noted they do charge an extra dollar for alternative milk. That is a bit off putting; however if you know that going in I want to judge Union for what they served and whether we feel it is a value. It is in my view. Perhaps the proprietor can think of a better way to manage the alternative milk addition better. It's like paying for a carryon on some airlines when other airlines simply fold in the overall costs in to the price of the ticket. That just feels less egregious. All in all a great coffee experience.
Ok, so we didn't go for the coffee, we went to support some of our local DJs during a day party on Sunday afternoon. The music was awesome, Union Coffee shop even had some alcohol choices. But then we smelled fresh brewed coffee and you know, it immediately makes you want some. So I ordered a Mocha Latte (almond milk) ...that was THE END of me ever getting coffee anywhere else ! That drink was so perfect, my bf drank half of it and we had to get another, no matter how late we stay up- we were sipping Union Coffee at 7pm mmmmm. And we danced haha. Definitely will go back for coffee (we live 32 minutes away) and most definitely will go back for the Groove Lab Sunday dance parties. It's a small interior but the door was open and we could hear the music as we walked up.
Did not actually go to the store, but we had them bring out a coffee station at work! They provided standard options such americano, lattee, espresso and had oat/whole milk. And ofcourse they had a hot chocolate option as well. It was a great experience getting coffee from them. The two servers they sent out were very cheerful and chatty and made the coffee cart experience pretty good. This experience definitely encouraged me to go out and check out the ambience of their store in Greensboro!
We stopped into Union coffee on our way out of the GEO parade for a pick me up and I'm so glad we did! If you know me you know I love a good drink special and the white chocolate molasses off of the seasonal menu was amazing! So unique and just the right beverage to keep me moving right along with my day. I love that they sell pastries from easy peasy - we got a cookie and banana bread to take home and both were sooo tasty! The space was clean and inviting and the staff were friendly and so helpful. I'll definitely be visiting this coffee shop again when I'm in the downtown area!
Great little coffee shop that's light and bright with minimal decor. The service was friendly and they offer quality coffee options. I got the not just PSL latte and my wife got the apple chider. Sadly my latte didn't have a coffee flavor and very light pumpkin flavor. My wife's drink tasted much better and it was like an apple pie. This is a great place to get some work done or just hang out as the environment is inviting. Hopefully they can work on tuning their latte flavors to have a better balance with espresso. Would recommend if you're in the area and looking for quality coffee!
The cutest coffee shop located in downtown Greensboro! I stopped in for a quick pick-me-up and it was perfect. I ordered the cookie butter iced latte and I HAVE NOT stopped talking about it! I normally don't like cinnamon in my coffee, but they did it perfectly. The service was great, and the menu was easy to read. I didn't have a long wait time at all, especially for a weekday. The ambiance felt perfect for getting some work done or chatting with a friend. I cannot wait to go back! 1000/10 recommend. read more
Today Union Coffee came to my work and of course this was after I came to work with a Starbucks latte. My coworkers had such cute drinks that I got a hot chocolate. The "latte art" on my hot chocolate was gorgeous! The drink was delicious! I loved it. The barista was so so kind! He was positive, friendly, and when he handed me my drink said "have a beautiful day." Really thankful my work paid for this fun treat for everyone in the office today. It was appreciated! read more
Likely the friendliest coffee shop in town. They have the typical selection of coffee drinks, some bagels and pasties and now some of their cold coffee drinks prepackaged and ready for grab and go. A great downtown coffee shop that has become a go to for me. You should give them a try! read more

Went here for an event my friend had and it was such a great time. The ambiance was calm. The service was incredible. The lady that helped us, she was blond (I don't remember her name) she was so kind. She gave amazing suggestions based on what the people's taste were like. She was making sure everything remained cleaned at all times. Plus the drinks were incredible. I had an iced vanilla lavender latte. I also had one of their teas, and it was great! Would def visit again! read more

Great Small coffee shop in the Downtown Area. Simple menu and some unique pastries, such as the pop tarts which I have yet to try. The coffee is pleasant and tasteful. Great place to study, work or chill with some friends. The baristas were welcoming and friendly, making it a great coffee shop experience, definitely will be back. read more

I am so glad UC is now open on Sunday! Parking can be a challenge during the week, however metered parking is available just around the corner. Coffee is consistently yummy! Smooth, bold roast. I enjoyed a lavender latte, asked for 1/2 sweet since most coffee establishments make flavored lattes too sweet for my pallet. They nailed it! A hint of sweet that didn't over shadow the coffee taste. I should have gone 'extra hot' , will know better next time. Staff were friendly, quiet, low key and efficient. Lastly, I am not a fan of the all too common steep up-charge for alt. milks. They did not use $1 worth of oat milk in my small latte. With that said, we keep ordering therefore they keep charging! read more

I rarely get a chance to get out and visit the coffee shops in the city so I was excited that I finally visited this one. It was later in the day so I asked if they had decaf and was told that they can make pretty much anything decaf. The coffee had great flavor and was reasonably priced. They also had a complimentary water dispenser which I always appreciate. The decor was nice with a cute oxymoron of a wall statement that says "SLOW DOWN". Hard to do, amped up on coffee, unless you get decaf like I did, but I under the message! read more

I am a student at Elon Law, so I grab coffee from Union multiple times a week (the two are on the same block of downtown Greensboro). I love walking over to Union for a pick me up and a little fresh air, as well as a change of scenery! Union is one of my favorite coffee shops in Greensboro because the staff is so kind, the drinks are fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere inside is definitely my vibe. I love the sunlight and plants that surround me when I'm inside. It's a great place to do a little homework and the drinks are delicious! read more
This was a great spot downtown to grab a coffee. The customer service was great from walking in the front door. The drinks were great. I had never tried an orange creamsicle latte, beautifully executed. Give them a try, there's a smaller menu with syrup flavors and other drinks on it, you won't be disappointed. read more

This was our third visit to this coffee shop and they have always been welcomely. Their coffee is wonderful with a variety of filtered or pour overs, teas, and espresso drinks; my GF drank her entire latte within 10 minutes (not kidding). They also have a variety of pastries (ie muffins, croissants, and what looks to be homemade pop-tarts). In addition, they have seasonal crafted drinks that hit all tastes & flavors. Very chill spot and I like the vibe a lot. I wish we were more of early birds to make it there during the week before work. This place makes great coffee drinks. My oat milk cappuccino was excellent. It is definitely on a smaller size, especially for the price ($5.60), but it's a nice place to stop by downtown with friendly service. read more
