On a High Point food crawl we decided to start our day at The Biscuit Factory and it was the PERFECT place to begin! I'll start by saying the prices are super affordable. You can get full here for $10 bucks or less. They also run like a well oiled machine at the counter. We ordered and got our food super quick. Definitely one of my local favorites. I actually got something different this time, ham, egg and cheese. My normal go-to is either a chicken biscuit or smoked sausage and cheese. I went through the drive-thru and they did end up leaving off the egg and went back in and they fixed it without a problem. The lady who helped me was absolutely amazing and ended up giving me fresh fries as well. I will say the one thing I witnessed when I went inside to get my meal corrected, I saw through the window that allows you to see into the kitchen was one of the cooks had the blue gloves on while cooking. I would like an explanation as to why the staff of this establishment decided to have a full on conversation about whether a to-go order customer had "sugar in his tank" after he walked out not realizing I, another customer was sitting in a booth eating my breakfast. Four staff members were included in this conversation, three women and one man. I was in High Point (from Winston-Salem) frequently during a new car search and drove past The Biscuit Factory multiple times. When I was finally ready to visit, it was late in the afternoon and they were closed. :( So I trekked back a week later for lunch. It was an early lunch and I definitely beat the crowd. The interior is pretty standard - booths around the restaurant, dark wood. Not exactly contemporary but we're hear for the throwback. The women behind the counter were funny, and kind, and patient as I worked through all of the things that I wanted to order. I ended up with a hot dog with chili, mustard, and slaw, a chicken biscuit, and an order of fries. The hot dog was really tasty with a little spicy kick in the chili. The magic happened where the chili, mustard, and slaw all basic merge into a single condiment. Glorious. Chicken biscuit was good but not great. That sucker needed some spicy to it. This spot was recommended by a local coworker. Hubs jus brought me my first biscuit. I got a fried chicken biscuit with egg and cheese. It was very very good. The biscuit is a good size (larger than my palm) and has a piece of fried chicken larger than the biscuit nestled in with some mayo, sliced tomato (yes!!), lettuce, cheese and scrambled egg. Excellent flavor. Nice soft buttery biscuit. I'm unsure on service because the food was brought to me. This place is always busy when I drive by on lunch break which says something. Calling all Midwesterners. This is the nearest thing to the BPT Holy Grail in NC. Their breaded pork tenderloin, while not as big as a hubcap, is tender and delicious. With 25% more hog production than IL, NC just has no clue what they are missing out on. Bless their hearts! For the uninitiated, try the tenderloin sandwich with extra pickles and onions and then generous amounts of mustard. I will never stop at another restaurant in the High Point area from now on! They also have a very efficient drive thru and plenty of staff to get your hot sandwich to you very quickly. Set in an iconic 1978 setting, you know you've reached anti-corporate food heaven as soon as you walk in. It is a typical "first name to claim food" establishment, except they accept credit cards. I have always heard of this place, but never been, so I stopped by this morning. I ordered a tenderloin sandwich with Mayo and pickles and a hash brown. It was a little over $7. The hash brown was certainly fresh, but they hadn't drained it because it was literally swimming in grease, bottom of the bag covered. The tenderloin was breaded (not my preference, but that's ok) and while it was a very large piece, it was way over cooked and so salty I took only a few bites. I had read in a few other reviews the food has become really salty. I agree with that. The service was fast and no one was rude, so that's a plus, but I won't return based on the quality of the food. read more

I would give this place 0 stars if I could, but I cannot, and 1 star is being too kind. Honestly, I have no problem w the food, I've been eating at the High Point, NC location for decades and have always been satisfied with the food. However, it's the service AND the staff that has made me decide that I will never return. I went up there today to get some lunch, when I pulled up to the window, I got a very blunt and rude "what would you like?', then all throughout my order the girl keeps saying "is that it, is that it" over and over and I had to keep saying "no, I also need". Finally, she allowed me to finish my order, and I pulled around. She opened the window and just stuck her hand out, didn't even tell me how much I owed but just expected me to hand her my card. I asked her how much it was, and she rolled her eyes, turned around to look at the register and then turned back around and told me. I handed her my card and she snapped it out of my hand, all the while having this completely inappropriate conversation w A MANAGER about their personal feelings about having to do their jobs. I heard things such as "I ain't gonna be the only f'ing one to be doing any work around here, those mf'ers back there best be getting up here" then the manager lady says " girl, they ain't gonna do sh!t, I'm tierd of this sh!t around here" then the girl that took my card had another customer at the speaker come up and I clearly hear her say "d@mn, I wish this b!tch would hurry up, people like this that don't know what they want get on my d@mn nerves" then the manager laughs and says "I know you right, girl, I hate that sh!t too, I wish they would stay their a$$es at home" and on and on and on. I was wanting to add some grits to my order but I didn't dare. I just went on to Biscuitville down the street, where they were friendly, courteous, smiling and acted happy to see me. I tend to have issues when employees at an establishment treat me like I'm an inconvenience to them, cuss and have inappropriate conversations in front of me while I'm sitting there. When I heard that girl at the window cuss about the lady at the speaker, all I could think of was what they were saying about me when I was there. A person shouldn't spend their hard-earned money at a place that treats them like trash and w such disrespect.., especially when the management is in on it. If I knew how to get ahold of the home office, then I would. I have NEVER had such a horrible experience at a fast-food place in my entire life (and that's really saying something considering that ghetto Popeye's we have down the street, where I've seen and heard all kinds of things, but NEVER been treated as I was at The Biscuit Factory). I cannot speak for anyone other than myself, but they need to fire everyone up there and attempt to start over. The Biscuit Factory is a High Point tradition. It's been around for as long as I can remember. Decades. Until recently, the last time I visited this shop was when I was a high school student at High Point Central. That was in the late 90s/2000. Since that time, a company called Yelp was founded and, at the time of writing this review, The Biscuit Factory has become one of the highest Yelp-rated restaurants in High Point with a stellar 4.5-star average rating after 57 reviews. I revisited a couple weeks ago and the place was pretty much as I remembered it. It's like a fast food joint with a drive-thru. We visited for Saturday lunch and the place was very busy, inside and out. This is a popular breakfast and lunch spot. They do not serve dinner. The Biscuit Factory offers 14 different kinds of biscuits (really, biscuit sandwiches) and a dozen types of "sandwiches" including hot dogs and burgers. Everything is affordably priced. A plain biscuit is only $1.29 and the most expensive biscuit is $3.89. The most expensive item on the entire menu is the bacon cheeseburger at $4.69. Fries ($2.15) and hashbrowns ($1.45) are served a la carte. There are no combos. We ordered five biscuits and fries. Here are the five biscuits we ordered and how I would rank them from my most favorite to least favorite: 1. Sausage biscuit ($2.55) 2. Tenderloin biscuit ($3.89) 3. Chicken biscuit ($3.89) 4. Grilled tenderloin biscuit ($3.69) 5. Country ham biscuit ($2.99) First, I should probably address the biscuits themselves. They are very big and very good. Are they the best biscuits I've ever had? Ehh... To be honest, I'm not sure. They're up there, though I've had biscuits from Bojangles' that I thought were amazing too (your mileage may vary). Regardless, The Biscuit Factory's biscuits are indeed delicious and worth a trip out if you've never tried them before. They're buttery (but not too buttery), soft, crumbly, and satisfying. They've become well-known locally for a reason. As for the different biscuit varieties, the sausage biscuit won hands down for me. I love sausage biscuits, especially the kind from McDonald's. The Biscuit Factory's version is at least as good, if not better. The sausage patty is savory and flavorful. The tenderloin biscuit can almost be mistaken as a chicken biscuit, but it's not. It's pork, fried pork. Both the tenderloin biscuit and the chicken biscuit were neck and neck for me. I recommend eating both with honey. You can grab packets of honey at the condiment counter. They taste great with honey. When it comes to chicken biscuits, Chick-fil-A chicken biscuits are sort of my measuring stick. I think Chick-fil-A versus The Biscuit Factory is a toss-up in this category. The chicken in The Biscuit Factory's chicken biscuit isn't as meaty, but the biscuit itself is superior. However, The Biscuit Factory's chicken is still fine and some may prefer it's softer and relatively less chewy texture. Like all food, it all comes down to personal preference. I can't say I'm a fan of either the grilled tenderloin or country ham biscuits. The grilled tenderloin lacked flavor and didn't have the most appetizing consistency. The country ham was simply too salty (almost inedibly salty for me). My girlfriend liked it though. The fries were tasty. They're very similar to McDonald's fries in terms of shape, size, and taste, but slightly less crispy and less salty. The Biscuit Factory's fries won some kind of award. The award certificate is on display with the company's other awards next to the counter. This is the type of restaurant where you order and pay upfront and wait for your name to be called when your order is ready. If dining in, your order is served on a tray. Biscuits are individually wrapped in paper that ends up getting nice and greasy. Seating is all at booths. Most, if not all, only fit about 4 people per booth. Parking can get tight during peak times (the drive-thru can compound matters), but there's usually no problem finding a space. Service is great. The employees are friendly and orders are filled relatively quick. read more

I am honestly ashamed that I have lived in High Point for almost two years and have never once visited The Biscuit Factory. Until yesterday. I was running errands when I felt a rumbly in my tumbly. I searched "breakfast & brunch" on Yelp, uncertain of why I was doing so, and fully expecting the same ol' usual suspects. But behold: there at the top of the results, like a shining beacon of hope, was The Biscuit Factory. Wait, that unassuming little place over by Harris Teeter that I have passed four thousand times without the slightest thought? THAT place? And what's that? Almost 5 stars out of a ton of reviews? We're going. I had a good feeling as soon as I pulled into the parking lot. It was 10:10am on a Tuesday morning and the parking lot was absolutely slammed (I took the last open spot) and the drive thru was spilling out into the street, blocking passersby and provoking my road rage a smidge. When you walk in, the inside has all the familiar symptoms of a place that ain't playin' around when it comes to serving delicious food. For example, everything looks old inside. Not the "Eww, this needs an update" kind of old, but the "Hey, that's my grandma in the back whoopin' up them biscuits," kind of old. Good old. Another sign: the lady at the counter was kinda grumpy. Not the rude, "I'm miserable at my job so I'm gonna make you miserable, too" kind of grumpy. More like the "We busy serving up this delicious ass food so I ain't got time to play," kind of grumpy (again, like grandma). I fully expected to get hit with a fly swatter if I didn't spit my order out fast enough. I went with the chicken biscuit and had them add cheese and mayo. I added the Texas Pete myself (it's behind the counter). It was mouth watering. The biscuit was nice and fluffy and the chicken was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. I didn't go with any sides - this was just a personal experience between the biscuit and myself. It was splendid. I sat there for another 5-10 minutes, finishing my drink, people watching, and wondering what to do with my life next. It was suddenly a lot less clear after eating that delicious chicken biscuit. If you're a High Point resident like me and haven't tried The Biscuit Factory yet, shame on you too. I look forward to visiting again and trying other biscuits, though it's gonna be awfully difficult not to order another chicken biscuit. read more
