Service is also both friendly and hyper-efficient, so while they keep busy, you won't be waiting for anything very long here. The PepperMill Café offers much of what you'd expect from a classic Greek-owned Southern diner, which means an appreciably large menu with a few Mediterranean-influenced dishes. From omelets and biscuits to pancakes, French toast, and waffles, they've got you covered. However, for those seeking something more novel, PepperMill also offers carrot cake pancakes and a kielbasa plate. I satisfied my craving with two bananas foster pancakes/eggs/sausage. The pancakes were large without being too dense, the bananas were nicely caramelized, and the cream cheese butter made for a nice finishing touch. All told, it was a very satisfying forkful. It's been a while since I've actually been inside the restaurant. I typically order from the Peppermill Cafe on UberEats, but I have to say I'm very impressed with them. They always get everything right in your order, and they never forget to add things like pepper and salt or jelly for toast. They package everything so well. It's almost better than Chick-Fil-A. I typically order the omelettes, which are so good. Very flavorful, very fresh. Sometimes I get a BLT from them, and it's delicious too. It's probably one of the best I've had actually. I went here for a quick lunch. I generally love Greek diners, but this place was just okay. I was impressed by their long and varied menu, and was excited to see so many Greek classics on the menu. I opted for the Spanikopita, which is a spinach pie with filo dough. It came with a hearty portion of tzatziki sauce. Unfortunately, the spinach was flavorless. It almost tasted as if it had been wet when cooked. I did like the crispness of the filo. The tzaziki was inedible to me because the garlic was so strong. I did try some else's fries and enjoyed those. I really wanted to love this place because I love Greek food. I was pleasantly surprised when I got 10% off for checking in while there. PepperMill Cafe is one of many jack-of-all trades family restaurants in the south High Point/Archdale area, and our experience was just fine. Nothing remarkable that would make us really want to come out of our way to visit again, but if we were in the area, we'd give it another shot. We came in on a Sunday for lunch around 1pm, and maybe that is why our food wasn't great, we didn't realize they close up at 2pm. Everything looked a lot better in the pics inside the menu than it did on our plates. Flavor was OK, but the portions were pretty sparse. See my pics for examples... but my steak and cheese sandwich was mostly bread, as was my wife's chicken parm sandwich (with a stingy amount of fries to boot). It wasn't particularly expensive, and it's not like I was expecting anything amazing, but it just seems like it was a down day around here. We'll give it a shot another time. read more

They didn't make me super confident in my meal but I enjoyed what I ordered and felt great afterwards. They were understanding and accommodating, making for a great experience. Food came out quickly after I ordered and tasted fresh. It wasn't a spectacular breakfast but it was good. One of the Saturday specials is chicken parmigiana, which includes the beverage and a salad. House salad was brought to the table quickly. Since my server told me the chicken parmigiana was a large portion, I had only a little of the salad. The server was attentive and asked if everything was ok with the salad since I didn't eat much of it. When I have ordered chicken parmigiana anywhere else, it is served as a chicken breast on top of spaghetti, sauce and cheese. Another Greek owned and operated restaurant in the Triad that serves good, if not spectacular, food with a healthy, mediterranean bent, as well as many of the usual diner/cafe items. Supposedly, part of the healthy aspect is they do not use fatback or bacon grease in any of their dishes, depending on olive oil. This place is bright and clean, and well maintained, inside and out. They serve all three meals, with breakfast and lunch being particularly well attended. Breakfast items include the usual plates - eggs, breakfast meats, pancakes, french toast, grits, biscuits, etc. The omelets are three egg beauties, with some different ones, like Greek Feta Cheese, Chicken Florentine, and an Hawaiian Chicken omelet with pineapple. There are also Breakfast Wraps, some with the same Greek influence as the omelets. Their lunch/dinner menu offers a wide array of choices - from meat & 2 or 3 daily specials, sandwiches, salads, burgers, hot dogs, pasta - many the usual suspects, but a twist or two - more wraps, and an offering of Pork Tenders which is very nice - they have Chicken Tenders, if you wish to be boring. The Hot Dog here is not one I recommend. Entrees will run into the $6.50 - $8 range. Portions are very nice, and the service is good. read more

Actually intended to review the Plaza Cafe, whose website says they are open, but they were closed. So I continued south and saw the Peppermill café. The exterior did not look promising, but I went inside anyway. And I enjoyed a pleasant breakfast. The eggs were perfect, the bacon was crispy and tasty, the sausage was also nicely flavored and excellent, the home fries were uniquely seasoned and delicious, and the coffee was wonderful. To me this was your average breakfast joint but the atmosphere is extremely pleasant because the staff was super nice and prompt on everything. I ordered loaded hash browns, poached eggs and a coffee. Potatoes were good but I had to take off the extra stuff on them (my fault that I ordered them like that). To me it was too much. My eggs were poached perfectly. You could tell it was your typical diner coffee. Nothing special about it. Our waitress was very nice and all of the staff walk around and help each other by getting refills and getting plates off the table.
