Wow! A great small restaurant nestle downtown Hackensack! Authentic and oh so good Mexican food! The chips and salsa started this amazing culinary journey. Homemade and very good! The tortilla soup is the best I've ever had. Rich and hearty! I had the beef taco salad! It was fresh and filling! I did ask for beans because it didn't come with it! Wonderful experience and GREAT food! Muy bueno!!

Mi Rancho Mexican Restaurant in Hackensack, NJ. This local Hackensack Mexican spot is serving some amazing fajitas! The star of the show was the Molcajete-a skirt of grilled steak, chicken, chorizo, jumbo shrimp and cactus served on a piping hot Large Molcajete is super impressive! @miranchonj is BYOB and the service is amazing! Would definitely recommend! insta: @thehungrysw Calamares Fritos-Fresh Breaded Calamari Served With Chipotle-Mayonnaise. Tacos De Birria

Went to have a quick dinner with family. My order was birria tacos. I will start with the consomé. It was good, not the best but good. It was very very liquidy, which I'm not used to seeing; I've seen textures that are half liquid half solid (not sure the word for it). The taco itself was okay. The meat was juicy but flavorless. I feel like the consomé didn't help with adding flavor to the taco. The shell was good but soggy by the time I got it. Would I go back? Yes, it seemed like the restaurant had better food when looking around. Would I order this plate again? No, I have had better nearby that I would rather get birria tacos from.

Friendly staff made us feel comfortable. The space is nice with cool decorations, but nothing extraordinary. The food is good and freshly made (7/10).

I was visiting family for Mother's Day weekend and really wanted some Mexican food and decided to order from here. I feel like this was the best and freshest and tastiest salsa I ever had. The guacamole was really good too! The Carne Asada was amazing! Very tender and well seasoned. The rice and beans were also good. Next time I'm back I'm going to the restaurant. It was so good!

I have driven by this restaurant so many times in my way to and from work and for reasons I don't know we never tried it until the other day. And wow what I was missing! The food was fresh and so wonderfully prepared. The guacamole was yummy. Fresh with a perfect balance of lime juice, cilantro, and onion. The chicken fajitas were delicious. The vegetables were not overcooked. They were plenty of them, and the meat was nicely, grilled with char marks on the edges. The star of the evening for me with the taco salad. You wouldn't think this, but it's very hard lately to find a good taco salad in the crispy taco shell. I found one here. What was particularly nice is even if you're able to find one the best you get is sour cream and salsa with it. This one had a delicious creamy cilantro dressing as well. It was such a delight. I can't wait to go back just for that. We will definitely be returning here. Particularly because Mexican food travel so well for takeout.

Opened in March 2008, this family-run establishment has the goal of offering authentic Mexican food and is located in downtown Hackensack. As a lunch break from jury duty today, I ventured to Mi Rancho Mexican Restaurant on Main Street, just a block from the courthouse, as a first-timer. Upon entering this small, well-decorated, and clean interior, I was welcomed by the staff and promptly sat at a table. The menu is pretty standard, with a few unique choices, including combo platters, for $11. I decided on the lunch menu with two crispy meat tacos accompanied by rice and beans. To wash it down with Aqua de Jamaica (hibiscus tea), a complimentary chip and salsa began my meal. Everything was fresh, served hot, tasted good, and was authentic. The portion was generous. The service was friendly and fast. The price point was perfect, so I can recommend this place.

Placed a to-go order and every item was very good. I appreciated the secure packaging and always appreciate when restaurants repeat my order, before ending our calls. Each item was fresh, large portions, and enjoyed the spiciness of the Tortilla Soup. I even ordered their California Burrito, to enjoy for Monday's lunch. You will not go wrong with ordering from Mi Rancho and they will provide a very satisfying meal.

Mi Rancho is a restaurant I have gone to a LOT over the years, and it is a great spot for a quick dinner or local takeout and delivery. We hadn't been there in a while because the last time there was an issue with service, but our server this time was someone we hadn't seen before and she was great... VERY attentive and pleasant. The food is fresh and somewhat authentic (not Michelin star level) but definitely a cut above the chains, and the prices are very fair. The decor is nicer than you would find in a place that thrives on mainly takeout, which is good for the lunch crowds they must get from all the local municipalities. A BYOB that's a short walk from the Hackensack courthouse, and you get complimentary chips and salsa after you're seated.

Food was great with very generous portions. Highly recommend the fiesta platter if you want to try different things.

This is a authentic Mexican Restaurant. The food is amazing and the taste is delightful!! We have been coming here for years, every Tuesday " for tacos". The atmosphere and staff are great. Especially , María José, is very nice, friendly and kind. I strongly recommend this place if you want to have a great time with friends or family. The best are the BYOB!!

Cool little spot on Main St. My cousin and I went in for a late lunch, early dinner after shopping this week. I started off with tortilla soup which was nice and warm. We had tacos and wings. Nothing out of this world but just perfect and hit the spot. I look forward to returning with my hubby who loves fajitas! I didn't notice if they sell alcoholic beverages which is a must for me when it comes to Mexican! LOL

Service has been nothing but kind, helpful, and attentive every time we've gone. On our last visit, we were jonesing for happy hour and asked for the drink menu, only to discover they don't serve alcohol but they're BYOB. "And there's a wine and liquor store only two blocks away," our smiling server whispered conspiratorially. It was a genius idea. While we waited on our order, my husband jetted out for a 6-pack of Modelos and got back just as our chicken salad was being set down on the table. We asked for it to be timed as an appetizer, and I'd say the serving size might be closer to an appetizer than an entree. But the chicken pieces were well-marinated and delicious, making the salad a meaty entry point into our shared steak fajitas. These fajitas are a winner winner chicken - er, steak - dinner. Since we got it done medium well (my preferred doneness - feel free to judge me for it), I was worried about the steak being tough but these were tender enough for both my husband and I to emit a simultaneous "wow" at first bites. The sauce on them was also incredible, so much that we asked our server about it when he checked on us mid-meal. He crossed his heart and demurred, "It's a secret, so I can't really tell you," but when we pressed for more information, he admitted the main base was "lots of tomatoes". Well, whatever's in that magic sauce was good enough for us to drag our spoons against the near-empty fajita plate, trying to get every last drop of it. My husband and I have visited twice now, and our order has ranged from good to excellent (with those steak fajitas being the high winner thus far). There are a few parking spots in the front lot but being that this is in a quiet, residential area, there's plenty of parking to be found on the side streets if necessary.

Without us asking, the staff noticed and asked if it is ok to warm up the place. That really helped enhance the dining experience. Now the food, we shared the chicken fajita and the enchilada mi bandiera. The chicken fajita was so tasty, the chicken is made w chicken thigh. Some might not like that. We enjoyed it tremendously. The chicken and the veggies were very flavorful and grilled perfectly. They were a little stingy w only 3 tortillas but it's ok. The enchilada was also good. Good flavor but it was Luke warm. Would've been better if it was hotter. I very much enjoyed the home made hot sauce and their signature mole sauce. A good dining experience. Left satiated.

I will copy and paste this review across the Park Ridge and Mahwah locations so emphasize my appreciate for their consistency in providing great Mexican food. If you are consistently performing, Linguini will take care of you. Like I've taken care of many others. I will bring you to the top with me. If you backstab me. Oh if you come for me at the top, you will reach an abyss so deep you may end up digging to China. Don't test me. I'm not that guy. Anyways, I've tried a lot from Azteca. Most of what they've got is a 4/4.5 out of 5 but I'm rounding up for the full experience. Phenomenal price point. Variety of food that all comes out well. Performs well in restaurant and when the food travels. Friendly staff. And local business of which I support. I suffer from GGS - Good Guy Syndrome, sorry not sorry. My motha, bless her soul. I legit mean bless her soul. Be nice. Pray. Bow down to her. She doesn't eat much food but she even loved the taco salad here so much that she asked to go again. So much protein, so well seasoned. Just as their other options showcase as well. My personal favs are the Kash Burrito and the, what I'd call "trademark" Cod Burrito. Never have seen it elsewhere like this. The wrap is toasted wonderfully, great rice, great salsa. I mean this place just does it real well. I've had tacos, appetizers, desserts. Never let down. El Azteca is consistently good. Constantly pushing out quality product. Is it the best Mexican I've had? No. But it's the most underrated. Being a consistent 4, makes you a five in my books. It's like that girl that's occasionally a 6 or occasionally an 9... you can't bring her home. But that girl that's consistently a 7 or an 8? You let her meet the fam. I don't where I'm going with this one. All I'll say is STOP. Stop going to Chipotle, Bubbakoo's, etc. when you could be supporting a better quality and friendlier priced location in El Azteca. Thank you in advance. I will be watching - LB.
