A few days ago, I ordered two steak bowls and dessert from D&K taqueria. It was my first time ordering from this place. The unique thing about all the food I ordered today--at least from what I could taste--is that they cook with lard, which gives it a completely different and authentic flavor compared to other Mexican food in the area. The bowl had plenty of meat (enough for two people), Mexican rice, pinto beans, avocado, sour cream, pico de gallo, lettuce and guacamole. Everything was delicious. Personally, I prefer ordering this type of dish and making the tacos at home because when you order tacos to-go, they can arrive a bit soggy and the tortillas might break. For dessert, I ordered a delicious Tres leches cake; you could tell it was freshly made today, and it was amazing. All the ingredients in the steak dish were fresh, high quality, and very tasty. My friends and I got together yesterday at my friend's new place in Lodi and decided to order in. We're all taco lovers, so it only made sense to get tacos. We went with the $50 platter of 25 tacos, which lets you choose three proteins. We picked chicken, steak, and al pastor. It was more than enough for the four of us, and we even had leftovers. The platter came with sides like fries, onion, cilantro, cucumber, radish, lime, pineapple, salsa verde, and salsa roja. The tacos were all really good, but my favorites were definitely the steak and al pastor. Even when I reheated them the next day, they were still delicious. Service was great too. I have been here previously. my first experience with taqueria D&K was at their stand in the meadowlands flea market. I was blown away by how good their tacos were and knew i had to go back to their main location to see what's the word in flavortown. Tacos Al Pastor (9.4/10) - HOLY SHITTTT. This is arguably one of the best al pastor tacos i've had in my life (like top 10). The meat was reallyy juicy, the flavors were seeping out of that marinated meat. The pineapples were really well paired, cooked in a way that went beautifully with the pork. The tortilla, which happened to be different from the last time i got them, was still solidd. Overall all together this taco was formed elegantly and was so good i didn't even consider the sauces at first. (the sauces were buss af tho don't get me wrong). Birria Pizza (8.4/10) - The first time I got this pizza pizza, it came with a cute little mexican flag in the center. I was a little sad that it did not come with it this time :( The box came with a lovely abundant amount of limes, radishes, and cucumbers. It was all in a little baggie, I only wish the cucumbers were separated, they tasted sour because of the limes. The pizza was cut in 8 fairly sized slices, and did not hold back on the meats, but was just a little light on the cheese for my liking (I like cheese a lot). The tortllla was pretty decent and held its weight, I wish it had a little more of a bite to it, but that might just be on me for ordering a little too early (10 minutos). The meat was pretty good, nothing too crazy and about what i expect from eating birria meats. The cheese, although not plentiful, still was good and i love me some cheese (a cheese pull would've been so buss istg). These ingredients alone made for a fairly good experience, BUT what really brought it to the next level was the combination of each slice with a healthy fixing of radishes, lime juice, consome, and green sauce specifically. Consome (8.5/10) - For sure one of the better consomes i've had, it gave a very much needed moisture to the pizza pizza. They were so kind to give us not one but DOS CONSOMES CTM. The soup itself had its own great level of flavor, just the right amount of oiliness, meatiness, saltiness, and love. I was so happy to find that there was meat in the bottom of the cup, which slurped up oh so nice in my mouth ;) You know that shit when you could drink it by itself and not feel like your mouth is covered in salt crystals. Green sauce (7.6/10) - When you're used to green salsas being heavy on flavor and lighter on potency, it throws you off when you get a green sauce that flips the script! This sauce was still good and paired well with the tacos and even better with the pizza. On its own though you don't taste the typical green flavor immediately, you are met some spice at first ironically enough. Still a good sauce overall but I can definitely see it being better. Red Sauce (5.1/10) - Honestly I kinda tasted this one and put it away, I didn't really notice the flavors of it with or without the food, and only got a higher taste of spice than the green sauce. But also less flavor than the green one weirdly enough. (Esto si que es). Nopale (6/10) - The flavor was mild but alright, it had a nice crunch to it though. It didn't really pair with the tacos in my humble opinion, but i could see it pairing nicely with other dishes that have a rice and bean base. Green onion (7/10) - found it in my al pastor box, it was good, enough said. Overall in total I enjoyed my experience here once again, I would like to point out that the red sauce was different from the last times i've gotten, which was disappointing to find out because that og was fucking buss. But it did not take away from this meal, i enjoyed the tacos and pizza pizza a lot. The people are very generous with their serving sizes, additives, and maybe attitudes (we didn't really talk to the workers). I will be coming back for sure, next time i'm gonna try the burritos and get to the bottom of why people keep shitting on it, it's got me curious i gotta be deadass flavortown. I would recommend getting the Burria tacos- they seem to be the most popular dish ordered here per the waiter and it did not disappoint. Happy to finally have a decent taco place nearby that has everything I want. Many flavors of tacos including birria, burritos, great desserts, horchata and more. The sauce/veggie bar is a nice touch. Ordered food on their website and picked it up inside. Parking is easy and it's a pretty spacious restaurant. They made sure to give us lots of extra sauce and included veggies from the sauce bar too. I ordered the quesa birria tacos, which were very good. I ended up drinking all of the consomme. I had a bite of the delicious and hefty burrito. The regular tacos looked really good too, which I need to go back and try. All of the desserts were excellent - tres leches, flan, and strawberry churros. My favorite is always flan with tres leches close 2nd. Enjoyed the horchata too. This is a casual, small, quick, and cheap option for Mexican food (dine in or take out). The food was just okay. We tried a burrito bowl and burrito (both with chicken) and they were pretty similar. The chicken did not take like it was very fresh and was heavily over salted. The bowl was swimming in watery lettuce which made every bite taste like it was mixed with water. I was looking to pick up some Mexican food for lunch at a place where burritos did not cost $17+. That's when my search landed me on Taqueria D&K. I called to order for pick up on a Saturday at around 12:30 and was quoted a 20 minute wait time. I ordered two California burritos - one with al pastor, one campechano, and and order of quesabirria tacos. I liked that they ask you if you want red or green sauce inside the burritos. You also get to choose if you want pineapples with your al pastor (get them). The al pastor burrito was probably my favorite of the bunch. It is well-filled and well-wrapped. The ingredients are distributed evenly, all the way to the ends of the burrito. So you won't have one bite that's just beans and rice, and another with just meat. It may be the best burrito I've had in a while and for $12?! That is a steal! I didn't like the campechano as much because there was some spice in there that was a little too overpowering (cinnamon?). Quesabirria tacos were also only okay but I don't like the beef in birria tacos in general because it's usually dry and bland, but I love the cheese, griddled tortilla, and consommé part. I wish they could somehow make the al pastor into quesabirria. Or maybe next time, I'll just order a quesadilla and get a side of the consommé. They use to be great, But after ordering only 6 beef burritos like I do every other week or so. sometime even twice a week. Either way the burritos used to take two hand to hold and food came dripping out. Now I gotten a burrito half the size!? Inflation is high I know but this is just sad! This place was surprisingly good ! The quesadilla Al Pastor had amazing flavor and authentic oaxaca cheese. The campechano tacos(beef & Chorizo) were firee. They give you also sauteed nopales and grilled green onion for extra flavor... not many places do this. Green sauce also was thick and had a great flavor. Tucked away in the corner of an obscure strip mall adjacent to a Dunkin' where many businesses have opened and closed after short stints, Taqueria D&K is a business that does NOT deserve to suffer that same fate. This particular storefront has been home to a gyro shop and multiple other types of eateries over the past 5 years (including different pizzerias), but they have not lasted very long at all. After seeing an ad in a local mailer, I decided to give it a try and it was WELL worth the price for the quality, value and taste. Got two burritos (steak and spicy pork) for myself and a chicken quesadilla for my son. He was pleased with the quesadilla, but after taking a sizable bite of each of my burritos -- He and I both decided they were the stars of the show. The flavor of the burritos REALLY popped, and the meat on both was tender and delicious. The woman at the counter was very pleasant and helpful about the menu, but didn't know about Yelp. I didn't know until now that anyone can set up a business on Yelp, so I am happy to (try to) help them get started here. Check their hours before going because I just noticed (while gathering the info to do this) that they are closed on Mondays. I look forward to returning, also trying some of their other menu items (psyched that they have nopales!), and will post pictures of those meals as well. I know the saying "location, location, location", and how important that IS to a business, and this location is historically not the best by far. I'm changing my rating from a 4 to a 2... Went back with the family super excited as I had been craving their tacos for so long, and was disappointed. Ordered 3 carnita tacos, 2 chorizo tacos. You can never go wrong with the sausage one. But the carnitas, was lacking in flavor and the all the tortillas on the tacos were cold. My girls all order chicken quesadillas, and they were ok with them, one complained that they were super wet! Guacamole was ok, the chips provided were obviously so stale and super old that I opted to have it with cucumbers. My main course was a carnitas burrito bowl. It was so wet!!!! And when my girls told me their quesadillas were wet I thought they were exaggerating and they weren't. Maybe a salad spinner would help this issue. We had one more dish called I think picadas and they were good. In total our meal was $118 and sucks because the food wasn't up to par as before. read more

Absolutely one of the worse experience ever!!! Be careful with the carnita tacos. Which is completely a false advertisement item that's on the menu. I ordered carnita taquitos, which is my main dish I always go to at all Mexican restaurants. I opened up my container and noticed chunks of meat, I called immediately thinking they gave me the wrong dish and also that they forgot to give me my Bowl, which I know happens. The gentleman on the phone said yes your bowl is here and "no that's the way we make our carnita taquitos it's all body parts of the pig! Ears, intestines, tongue" etc... you name it it's in there according to Hugo the employee there. I told him that was completely wrong on every level that they do not list each body part of the pig that's in their Carnita tacos on the menu. According to a the woman that works there, she also states that's how they do carnita tacos in Mexico!!!! I will be reporting them to the health department and also consumer affairs.. I explained to them I have never eaten at a Mexican restaurant including authentic to a mom and pop shop have I ever been served carnita tacos this way!!!! The woman that came out was extremely unprofessional, condescending, and ghetto. And wrong on every level!!!! Placed a pickup order for some quesabirria, which was $14 for 4 tacos and the consome. The tacos had a lot of meat and cheese, but the meat wasn't the most flavorful or tender. The tortillas also could have been more crispy. However, the consome and the amount of cheese in them made up for this. The consome was very flavorful. The way they packaged everything was excellent and done to ensure that the consome wouldn't spill and cause a mess. They also included a generous amount of sliced lime, cucumber, and raddish in a separate baggie. The cilantro and onions were also on the side of the tacos instead of on top, which is great if you don't like that. Overall, I think it was a good value, and I enjoyed the tacos. A plate that has been bought multiple times at the same price with no problem, suddenly was charged an extra $3 for no reason and without saying anything. My spouse overheard another lady with the same issue. I called them about it and they just kept denying it and coming up with excuses trying to come up with the extra $3 charge that was not asked for and was never out on there before.
