At first entrance so vibrant and lively artwork everywhere. Staff was friendly and helpful. Luckily I went for an early dinner so it wasn't crowded. Parking is located in the back. We pass by this Mexican spot all the time. It used to be called Al Toro so I guess they are recently under new management. I noticed a deal for all day $1 tacos on Monday/Tuesday (dine-in only), so hubby and I decided to come in on a Monday at around 5 to check it out. It was empty, since it was still pretty early. The deal is only for chicken and steak, so we each ordered two chicken and two steak. Both were good but nothing amazing. But for $1? You really can't beat that. I highly recommend their green salsa. We ended up ordering 5 more tacos in total after that but keep in mind - it's a four taco minimum. So even if you ordered a first round of four, and you just want another two, they won't let you do it. Note - they don't bring you water. You have to ask for it but make sure you just ask for tap water. Otherwise, they'll charge you for bottled water. My husband ordered a margarita (he said this was sickeningly sweet) and a beer, which was also a happy hour special. Yelp check in gets u a free order of Guacamole this was great & about as much as we could handle since we came here after dinner. Guacamole was very good, nice taste cute presentation. Came here on a whim for an early dinner on a Sunday. There is a parking lot that is around the building off of woodridge Ave. Only BYOB at this time, apparently going to have alcohol in the near future. If you bring tequila or wine, they'll make you margaritas or sangria. Started off with guacamole and salsa with chips and the guacamole was amazing. I am normally iffy on guac, but we finished every bit. For entrees, we got a shrimp and steak fajita and and chicken enchiladas. The chicken enchiladas was definitely more than I was expecting and it was so fresh and amazing, along with the beans and rice. The shrimp and steak fajita was outstanding as well, just wish the tails were off of the shrimp. The taco's were light and crispy. There were 2 hot sauces served with the meal, a verde and regular. Verde was outstanding and the regular has a nice kick (don't have this if you don't like spicy). For dessert we got the churros and it might have been the best churro ever. Crispy on the outside and it was light on the inside with some sort of filling that was surprising. It was also served with chocolate with whipped cream. Server was very attentive and wonderful. Menu on tablet was unreadable.Drinks were a scam-ordered regular house margaritas for what we thought were happy hour priced at $5, and got red plastic cups with a margarita with an upside down shot bottle and got charged $25 a drink,; asked for a spicy margarita and got the same margarita with about 20 slices of jalepeno in it (undrinkable) and no shot bottle, asked for it to be replaced and got a margarita drink with no shot for the same $25; signature birria tacos we just ok and came with no sides nothing but meat in a taco shell and overpriced at $20. We ordered 2 side plantains, 2 guacamole at $20 each, 2 shrimp enchilada at $22 each and an order of chicken tostadas and 5 regular margaritas and paid $420- for 4 people thats $105 per person. My friend and I were looking for a place that did Taco Tuesday specials, so we randomly found this restaurant. Sadly, they didn't have any specials, but we were surprised with the amazingly delicious tacos. Whoa! ***In a rush? Skip to the end for my tips.*** We were a bit hesitant at first because they didn't have any specials for Taco Tuesday and there were only 2 tables with customers. But since we were already there, we decided to give them a try and I'm so glad that we did. It's in such an unassuming location and would be easily missed as another simple local restaurant, but they put a lot of thought into the décor inside. There are beautiful, colorful pictures on the walls. And, the person who served us was super nice and helpful in answering our questions. There were so many choices of mouth-watering dishes, but we were determined to have our tacos. They even had 12 types of tacos to choose from, which was a challenge considering there was only 2 of us. Wish there were more of us so we could have ordered all the different types of tacos. I also got a horchata. It was super sweet, but still good. And, my friend got the piña drink from the fresh Mexican waters menu. And, she said it was super good - light, refreshing, and perfect amount of sweet. We got fish tacos and the al albañil tacos (steak with stir fried onions and mushrooms, fresh tomatoes, cilantro, and fresh jalapenos). Each taco dish had 4 tacos and EVERY very single bite was full of flavor and tasted even better with their hot sauce. And, the hot sauce they had kicked our butts. Whew! But so good! When we were done, we were sad that we had no more room for more tacos. But we still had room for dessert, of course! So, we ordered the churros and they were a decadent end to a delicious meal. With the churros came a side of perfectly dippable chocolate and some ice cream. And, the churros! They were fried, covered with sugar, AND they had seemed to have dulce de leche inside the churro. What?! Wow! So, so good! I am definitely going back to ty their other dishes, especially all the different tacos they have. And, definitely need to bring more people with me so that I could try even more dishes. Tips: - There is private parking with limited spots. If you are facing the restaurant, it's around the corner on the left, behind the restaurant. And there was also plenty of street parking nearby. - There is some outdoor seating in front of the restaurant. - It seems like a lot of people do pick-ups because there were constant people coming in to pick up food. And, Uber Eats and Grubhub does delivery. - It seems to be BYOB. - If you like spicy food, definitely ask for their hot sauce. The green hot sauce is good with a very slight kick, but the orange one is the silent kicker because it sneaks up on you and your mouth is suddenly on fire with a constant burn. My husband and I came here for dinner and we were pleasantly surprised. They have parking in the back which is nice. The one biggest downfall is that service was a bit slow. We didn't mind bc we weren't in a rush but if we were that would have been a bit of an issue. Drinks were top notch. The steak tacos were EXCELLENT, especially with their red & green salsas. Lastly, the enchiladas were so tasty & it came with so much food!
