I was driving back to Arkansas from Dallas and this placed popped up on Yelp when I started looking for a place to grab dinner. It's a little out of the way and most would probably drive past the unassuming building, located in a residential neighborhood, not knowing what they were missing. The decor on the inside makes up for the outside and If you are a car buff this is the place to go in Sherman, TX. I ordered the Hot Rod Ford burger and while I waited checked out the immense collection of classic car memorabilia on display literally from floor to ceiling. The Hot Rod Ford burger was amazing (not too spicy) and the fries were good (a little greasy though). Overall the food was excellent and the service couldn't be beat! I can't wait until I pass through this area again as I know where I will be stopping. read more

We have been in the past and it was good. They have moved just down the block. The new location is really nice. The even use trophies with a number for your order number. It is decorated like a malt shop/ garage setting. They play 50's and 60's classic car show type music. If you are in the area or want a break from the chain restaurant this is definitely a place to try. read more

My husband and I went to MG's for the first time yesterday. We enjoyed our dining experience and would probably go back again. I would give the atmosphere and service a five, the onion rings a five, my husband would give their french fries about a 4 1/2, but we would give their hamburgers about a three or his maybe a 3 1/2. We also had a dessert, a piece of their Italian Cream Cake and I would give it a five on being moist, a five on their icing, but for me personally, a three as far as taste because I don't like almond extract. However, if you like almond extract in your desserts, you might give it a five. To me, their hamburgers were better than a fast food restaurant, however, I was wanting something that was really savory. I will say they had some of the best onion rings I've ever eaten and my husband and I did enjoy our dining time there. My Wife Ate a Buick! And I ate a Cadillac. I like how each sandwich is uniquely named - 57 Chevy has Heinz 57 sauce on it; T-Bird is a turkey burger ... The woman who took my order asked if we wanted 2 individual orders of fries or one we could split. This is the first time anyone had the foresight to ask this question. Brilliant because my wife, Cindy, never finishes her fries. Thank you, MG! In addition to the appropriately appointed and named hood ornaments attached to the ceiling, MG's serves Texoma's best burgers, fresh cut fries, perfected onion rings, free refills and take-away drinks. My only regret is that we're moving to OKC, but we know where we will eat when in Sherman. read more

This a great nostalgic burger joint in a residential part of Sherman. Taillights and vintage automobile parts/memorabilia decorate the walls and ceiling. It's a pretty small place. They isn't much room to wait in line to order before it goes out the front door. Luckily, we visited when it was slow, but I'm wondering what they do when there is inclement weather with a line out the door. The menu and music is 50's theme. Lots of burgers to choose from named after old cars. They are pretty much your "run of the mill" built burgers- nothing off the wall or unusual. I decided on the Hot Rod Ford with an order of French fries. Bun was fresh and made at the sister bakery a few doors down. Burger was a burger. Good choice using the Oklahoma based bbq sauce Head Country. Fries were pretty much your standard fresh-cut fries, but very greasy- which I kinda expected they would be. They offer AYCE burgers on Saturdays and AYCE CFS on Sunday I believe. Prices are competitive, and AYCE prices are extremely reasonable. They have been here for decades and the building shows the wear and tear, but don't let that deter you from giving them a shot. FYI, if you have a person in a wheelchair, they are not very handicapped compliant. They are probably grandfathered in. Overall experience, it was a decent burger for the price. The bun totally made it worth revisiting. Atmosphere is cool if you like the oldies. The fried foods are just your stand fare for burger joints. It was good, but I wouldn't drive an hour to have it. read more

Saturday is all you can eat burgers and fries for $5.99! Thick juicy burgers, homemade buns! The place is packed on Saturday around lunch and dinner, but service is quick. The waitresses come around and ask if you want a "refill" ;) Sunday all you can eat is chicken fried steak ... though I haven't tried it yet. read more

MG's! Yes, gimme some of that delicious burger! MG's offers one of the best dining experiences in the Sherman area, in my opinion. The burgers hearty and flavorful (and all you can eat on some days). The fries are really tasty, the ambiance is unique and entertaining, and this joint is always crowded (but it's worth the wait). If you live in Sherman and haven't been to MG's, you are truly missing out. If you live near Sherman and you haven't been to MG's, now you have an excuse to go up there. If you live nowhere near Sherman, but drive through there from time to time, it's worth hopping off 75 and stopping for a quick lunch or dinner on your way to wherever. Enjoy! read more

Last time I was in Dallas a friend recommended to me the best burger in town. I was unable to make it that time but had the chance today. The burger was good (mostly home made ingredients), the shake was made from dirt cheap ingredients, and the fries were soggy and greasy. If I was in town, I would stop again but it's not worth more than a 20 minute drive. Honestly, I've had better burger based meals from In & Out and Whataburger. read more

I hate to be the one to break the Yelp lovefest for this place, but we were really disappointed in MG's. We were test-driving a car and decided to road trip north...the stellar reviews prompted us to come here for lunch. MG's is a great restaurant, aesthetically. It's that 50s/60s decor which is really fun...we enjoyed the old timey "American vs. Japanese auto fuel economy" poster...boy have times changed! Great music from a vintage jukebox. We ordered the Ford and Studebaker burgers, with a side of onion rings and then took seats in one of the booths. From the time we sat down until our food came we were asked not once, not twice, not three times, but FOUR times if the order in that particular server's hands was ours. All four times, not ours. I'm not sure why they don't have a numbering system but...it is what it is. Our burgers, once we got them, were really underwhelming. After looking at the photos here, I can definitively say what we got looked nothing like what you guys got. Your burgers were thick! Ours were thin, no seasoning on the patties to speak of, and they were dry. And the onion rings...a yucky, greasy mess. We got a basket of what could best be described as the "dregs" of batter with a smattering of actual pieces of onion. We ate a few pieces and then quit because my stomach was starting to get gurgly. Maybe it was an off day and I swear I'm not a burger snob, but I have to review based on my experience. This is not a reflection on the niceness of the owners or their contributions to the community and BELIEVE ME, I want to support local businesses whenever possible.
