My movers brought stuff down. Then they decided that I couldn't have the truck. They told me that it was only for moving in. They could have told me this at the time I reserved it, before I committed to movers, or any other time. They started smiveling about how instead of trusting them "I should have read the fine print." That is how much they care about customer service and keeping their word. I was out $350 to the movers. The "regional manager" was in the office and was fully aware of what was happening, and agreed that they should not keep their word, that I should have read the fine print instead of taking their word for it when they went through all the motions of providing the truck. This is a nice facility and a good location for me, but If you care about honesty and integrity, stay away, they are liars and snivelers.

Owners not to be trusted. Without my knowledge they got…read moreinto my storage area, cut out a wall and installed a second door to my storage area. (This was done to an entire group of storage areas.) This meant moving some of my stored and neatly arranged items out of the storage area while they were working and then moving them back into the storage area wherever they fit as some of the space was taken up by the new door. I was only called after it was all done to get a key for another lock. I questioned whether there could have been theft or items broken during this remodel. The owner didn't care. I asked why I wasn't notified about what they were going to do. He said they had the right to do the remodel without my knowledge. Another time they didn't have a digital copy of my rent agreement so they locked me out of my storage area until they got a digital agreement signed from me, even though I was paid up and had the hard copy I originally signed. I also second all reviews about frequent and 10% + rent increases. Oh and don't forget to give them a timely copy of your rental insurance agreement each year as they will slap a fee on for insurance without any second warning. This is not a criticism of the staff which I didn't have any problems with. In summary, you and your possessions are beholden to storage areas, who can raise rents and do whatever they want. They more or less hold your precious possessions for ransom.

But this place is GREAT! Very clean, fairly new, temperature-controlled, safe & secure, two large entrances & several large & well-lit walkways making it easy to access each unit (there's even a place to drive your car inside, which is a nice feature in bad or cold weather), dry & weather-proof (no worrying about the floors getting wet from slush or snow, even with the drive-up area), reasonably priced, very nice staff. Kevin is very helpful. Also, I'm a MAJOR bug-aphobe, and finding a storage place that didn't have creepy crawlies was important to me (especially when we were planning to store a couch and several boxes of clothes that didn't have the best lids). In the 3 months we've used Scott Co Mini Storage, we've only seen one dead bug, and I can't even be sure we didn't bring it with us on the U-haul. Highly recommend this place for your storage needs!

There is great security here and I never felt like my possessions were in danger of being damaged by weather or being taken by thieves. Not only do you need a code (that you set yourself) to get in the gate, you also need a different one to get in the building itself where I had my things stored. The customer service here is outstanding and very professional. I never had any issues with trying to get in touch with someone on the rare occasion that I needed to. The storage areas are clean and very well lit and maintained, and it's one of the more reasonably priced facilities that I was able to find. Would highly recommend these folks if you are in need!

What a fantastic storage facility! I had a large unit there for about two and a half years. During…read morethat whole time, they never raised my rent! Due to the top-notch security system, I never had any problems getting access to my unit. No one ever broke into it either. The system is set up where you have to input a unique personal code to even enter the property. Nice little protective measure, right there at the street. Then you drive to your unit, which can be either indoors or outdoors. Mine was inside, because I wanted a warmer, drive-up space for all my stuff. Having the car parked inside--right next to the unit--is very convenient. There are other features that keep everything secure. For example, the doors to the building housing the indoor units will not open unless a valid personal code has been input at the entrance gate. Also, the unique personal codes are linked to specific storage units. So you have to unlock and enter your unit, or else the system will alert an on-site employee. Translation: anyone who is not authorized to enter the property will be unable to gain access to any storage units. Even the people who have legitimate units can only enter their own particular storage spaces. Speaking of security, there are surveillance cameras around the property and inside the buildings. A little redundancy there, but additional layers of security and protection are always reassuring. And you can use your own lock, whatever you prefer. One unusual feature is that the buildings are tucked into a carved-out area of a hillside. That shields everything from the prevailing weather patterns coming out of the north, northwest and west. This makes for warmer conditions. Even during winter visits to my storage units, the 'icebergs' in the wheel wells of my car would start melting and fall off. This facility is situated right on the edge of a large commercial area that contains just about every type of store or restaurant you might need to visit. Closeness to Costco (~ 1 mile away) was helpful to me, because I was able to purchase some inexpensive shelving that helped me get my unit better organized. There's also a Salvation Army Thrift Store nearby. They accepted all my donations of furniture and other salable items when the time came to let go of certain possessions (yes it happens!) and get myself moved out of state on short notice. Finally, the people who work for North Star are very professional, honest and downright helpful. My thanks to you two--Alec and Albert--for the positive difference that you made in my life!

I picked up the chairs the next day. It was a little more than $5 to rent two chairs for three days. They had another guy bring them out to my car for me. The chairs were sturdy and not terribly uncomfortable. Returning the chairs was just as quick and easy as getting them. Will be back if I need to rent some chairs or other items that they carry. They've got a lot of stuff, so if you're having an event, this might be your source!

They told me I would need to come back later (I did not have time to return--it was a 20 minute drive to get there) and they refused to refund the $24 charge. The worst part was that they lied to me and told me that my contract said that I couldn't pick things up until noon. Nowhere on the contract did it say that. In fact the hours were prominently stated in more than one spot as 7:30 AM - 5 PM. I checked the website too and did not find that statement anywhere. If you are going to stick me for a $24 charge at least don't lie about it and blame me for the problem. You could admit your mistake and just tell me tough luck on the charge. What a terrible way to run a business!

Rented a DeWalt impact wrench from them. Called earlier if they had one in stock to rent and they…read moretold me they had a corded DeWalt one available with "345ft lb of torque". Pick it up from them, (35$ for a full day!), and the condition of it was awful. I inspected it visually before renting and gave them the benefit of doubt that it just looks a little beat up as it is a rental. But I get home, plug it into the wall and this "beauty" produces half of the torque my handheld, battery, compact DeWalt impact does. Not to mention that Pin Detent on the anvil of the corded impact was completely pressed in so you couldn't even properly lock an impact socket on the dang thing first and last time I'll be coming here, wish I took pics and vids of the tool performance because it was hilarious. No idea why they rent tools that don't perform as they should and leave it to the customer to find out after spending money renting the equipment!
