On two occasions within 3 months I have had very slow - like 3 weeks to a month - delivery to people living in the same zip code as the post office. In both cases these contained checks for services such as yard work. In both cases I dropped off the letters in the mail slot INSIDE the building. In both cases I had to hand deliver new checks to the individuals as they needed to be paid. Also we frequently get mis delivered mail at our house. I do not feel I can rely on USPS anymore.

It also seems as if there are regulars they see often as one employee was having a personal convo with one of the customers, which is super nice to see in these spaces. Then They tried to charge me $250 to package and ship out, and said that shipping alone would cost $170! I opted out of their service and went straight to the ups store, and got my package delivered for $70. I know that this is a third party service, but a price difference that is TRIPLE the price of what it actually costs is pretty ridiculous to me. Other than that, the people working there were friendly.

There are loooong lines of confused people with the wrong amount of postage or are missing mail or can't pay their rent or have traveled an hour to pick up a package. The clerks are usually the grumpiest people you will encounter all day. Nothing is pleasant or convenient... but not at this post office! The lines might be 4-6 deep but are speedy and not full of negative people. The clerks are always cheerful, helpful and generally positive. The parking lot has the entrance/exit aligned with the drive-up mail boxes that sends me directly to the stoplight for Central Ave. Very convenient!!! And every time I visit I spend $14 on pretty stamps.

There's still room for them to sell greeting cards. What kind of greetings do USPS cards offer? I think you're a first class person? There is no street space for drive up mail boxes but there is an outside drop as well as inside as soon as entering.

The location is small but does the job. There's room enough for one employee at the desk at a time and if there had been a line, I can imagine the wait being a little long. I had been putting off sending the package because I didn't have tape, so I went in and asked if they had tape I could use. There's a certain kind of tape they'll let you use for free if you send your package priority and if you don't send priority they have a bunch of packing supplies you can purchase. Not only did I not have tape, but I also hadn't written an address on the package. No problem, he had an address sticker and pen for me. So great. I've never been so unorganized at a postal service counter, but he was very patient with me. I wish I remembered his name, but the man who helped me was SO helpful and kind. On my receipt it says he's Clerk 15. Not once did I feel like I was an inconvenience, and it took maybe 5 minutes. Thanks again Clerk 15!
