My mom, sister, and I went out for a girls day at the Tanger Outlets today and we decided to grab a light lunch at the Metro Diner. I ordered the avocado toast (because I'm trendy) and it was AMAZING! It comes with tomatoes and eggs but our waitress recommended crumbling some of the bacon off my moms meal onto my goat and it was to die for! 10 our of 10 recommend for service and food quality! This is our third visit to Metro Diner and we have yet to be unhappy. The staff is amazing, very flexible and they try hard to do things right. The food..... if you leave hungry you tried hard to do so. The amount of food you get will make anyone loosen a belt notch or two. I'm from Jacksonville where the original Metro Diner is and was looking forward to this one opening up. The service here was excellent, however, the food was only mediocre and did not compare to the original. I ordered the meatloaf and my husband ordered the Philly cheesesteak since it had Provel cheese from St Louis where he's from. Everything needed more salt including the sides except the gravy for the meatloaf had way too much! I am not a picky eater either. I never send anything back. I was just disappointed that this wasn't as good as the original diner. Dang it! read more

I keep forgetting to NOT order eggs benedict here! But I love eggs benedict. So, not thinking(remembering) I order it again only to be reminded that everytime I have ordered it here it comes cold because they let it sit up on the counter while they wait for the rest of the tables meal. On Sunday we went into Metro Diner, I told the hostess we had 13 and a high chair, she said has our reservation and it would be about fifteen minutes, we discussed we would sit anywhere. after 20-25 minutes we asked about our reservation as we did not see our name on the list, the hostess assured us we were and would be seated shortly, all the while tables of 7, 6 and fewer guests were seated. After an hour she said they were getting our table together. they sat a different party of 14, when we asked for the manager the owner came up and told us we needed to be understanding "It was a busy day." I have coming to this location for several months now. When I first started dining here, I was not to pleased with the service. The food was good, so I kept on coming back hoping something would change, well it did. Several months ago Jonathan, became Kitchen manager here. The food and service turned around and now this is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The attitude of the employees is great, food portions are good and service is great. If you haven't been, I suggest you give it a try. Ask for Jonathan and I'm sure he will take great care of any special requests you may have. read more

To make a long story short, metro diner as a brand will be my favorite and is still my favorite of any other Diner. I fell in love with it in Jacksonville and was excited to see it in Savannah. The food is always amazing, but the service has been horrible. The Metro Diner Savannah is poorly managed, horrible wait staff, rude, nobody cares about issues customers have.. they just offer you a coupon to come back to try and solve the problems. ( this might sound great to others, but for someone who cares for their brand a coupon means nothing to me). I'm the type of person who doesn't care for discounts or incentives, but I care for improving service and being treated with respect. That was not shown on this location. For people who have never eaten at Metro, I HIGHLY recommend any location in Florida, you won't regret it! However do NOT waste your time at the Pooler location near the mall!! Never thought I'd leave a bad review on this place but when something disappoints you more than 5 times, it's time to call it quits. read more

First and foremost I love this diner bc you can get breakfast all day and night!! Hardly any restaurant allows that option. For me that is a major bonus. The food and service is second to none. There is a gentleman who goes by the nickname CY and he is always checking on the guests and I don't think there is ever a missed table when he is there. He does everything down to greeting and bussing tables. We never realized that this "CY" was the managing partner, proprietor of this location. (Pooler, GA in with the Tanger outlets). That man is the type of worker that you don't see often these days. When we go to eat and he is there we always talk now and as he goes about his business it's hard to not watch him and his talent. It's refreshing to see. I recommend you find out for yourself and if you do ask if CY is there. BUT...if he is I can promise u won't have to ask bc you will just know!! I am absolutely enjoying myself and the food and service is outstanding! I had the chicken and waffles and I got a half order and I'm so glad I did! The half order was very filling I couldn't eat it all! The chicken is crunchy and delicious and that sauce that comes with it is delicious and that strawberry butter needs a patent because there were real strawberries in it and I've had strawberry butter that was mediocre but this butter was everything I imagined!!! For starters, their menu is HUGE. All day breakfast, lunch and dinner. Service was exceptional. Our waiter was very attentive and courteous, but not bothersome. I had the crab cakes Benedict, which was delicious and my boyfriend had fish and chips which were also really good. Reasonably priced, comparable to Applebee's or a similar restaurant. We decided to try the place out due to the race review & how good the one in Jacksonville was. Well it didn't leave quite a good first impresssion; 1st of I will say our waitress was wonderful & made sure our needs were met but that probably was the only thing good. My wife asked for coffee, but had a lipstick stain on it. Asked for another cup and that cup had lipstick in it as well. I decided to try the chicken & waffles, but my chicken was undercooked. Only the breast was cooked & it was too salty & greasy to consume. My wife got the blacked chicken tenders with a salad & fruit bowl. The bowl with the fruit in it had left over rigatoni & cheese in it from a previous meal. Her salad was bland & tenders were ok. I would've gave it 1 star but after I told management about our issues, they gave us a free meal voucher & offered to make me another breast but I declined so customer service is the reason I give at least 3 stars but food itself -1. We may try again on a not so busy day to give the place a chance. read more
