Great place, I am a huge fan of Breakfast foods. I enjoy the bang for my buck at the Metro but found the only thing lacking was flavor. I had to do all the seasoning but that's fine when they give you so much to work with! read more

One of the good diners in town. The service is fast. Food is average diner quality by friendly staff. Portion size good. The thing I don't like is the wait. Got to wait every time I go. That does tell it's popular but after 1-2 visits and waiting, makes you turn to another place. The place is not exceptional. You know what I mean. Every town had 1-2 diners which are popular with the city but overall the same. read more

Had the fried pork sandwich and wow was it great! It's a large breaded and fried pork steak on thick grilled bread with a lot of different toppings. The best part, besides the meat and bread was the fried jalapeno peppers. They just really add that something extra. The fries were merely ok, but the sandwich more than made up for that. read more

Great service from the minute we walked in. Manager on duty greeted us with a smile and checked in several times. The pancake was delicious and my husband liked his as well. read more

Everything from the breakfast menu that I've ever ordered from here has been phenomenal with pretty regular wait times and decent service. The food is great at every location I've been to. read more

Their chicken and waffles are the best. Their home made goods made in house are amazing including their homemade biscuits and strawberry butter (for the chicken and waffles). A dang feast. read more

Great Service and Food was Top Knotch

Bacon, egg and cheese croissant sandwich is great. The service is good and it's not an expensive place. Great for a quick breakfast or brunch and they always have specials of the day that are more creative takes on some of their average menu items read more

Rolled into town and found the Metro Dinner on Yelp. I don't need to write any review, just trust all the good ones I read, they are all true. read more

Very good and unique breakfast options! Really good chipped beef and croissant French toast.

Food is your average diner food but they have a alot of cool specials and interesting options. Wait is always way too long just because it is one of the only diners in Gainesville. Waiters are always so nice and helpful! Great place overall read more

We got the eggs Benedict, breakfast pizza, and croissant french toast. All three were delicious, especially the breakfast pizza. The food is pricey but worth it for an occasional treat or for special occasions. read more

Metro Diner - Diners Near Me - Gainesville, Florida

Awesome food and service! Portions are big, but they have some light choices. From the moment we stepped into this place the service was attentive. We are from California and they don't have these diners there, so it was a pleasant treat. read more

Metro Diner is definitely one of the best diners this northern transplant has ever been to. The staff is very welcoming, extremely knowledgeable of the menu items, and your food is delivered in a timely manner. There is a huge selection of dishes to choose from on the menu and everything taste delicious. In my opinion, the best part of Metro Diner is the portion size! You absolutely will get your money's worth! Oh- and the prices are very reasonable! Win-Win!! read more

I went here for lunch -after being stuffed from my breakfast, so I decided to pick something small. I got a cup of chicken noodle soup and it was absolutely delicious. They even gave me complementary crackers! I definitely recommend this diner as a place to eat at for breakfast, lunch, or brunch! I especially recommend the cup of chicken noodle soup. It is small and low on calories. Not to mention it is delicious! It even comes in a bigger size; instead of getting a cup of chicken noodle soup, which is what I got, you can get chicken noodle soup in a BOWL!!! read more

Wow is all I can say!!! What an awesome experience with food to match. It is without a doubt the best breakfast in Gainesville! The choices are endless and they are very accommodating in substituting items. They offer a different flavored coffee every day and your cup is never empty. Of particular note is the wonderful service provided by Casey W. She is attentive, knowledge and extremely pleasant. Don't leave Gainesville without having breakfast at this gem of a restaurant! read more

Random stop after a day in Payne's Prairie. The yo hala lives up to the hype!! It was fantastic! The chicken and waffles were delicious and the club sandwich was massive! You won't leave hungry. Server was great and really attentive. read more

Went for breakfast and had a good meal! Got the breakfast pizza and it was delicious. Very creative with how they prep it. I would change the hollandaise to either pesto or gravy. Also, my partner ordered some eggs and sausages, did not turn out good. Eggs were supposed to be medium and came out extremely easy. read more

This diner was my absolute favorite place for breakfast or brunch back home! I'm so happy that they opened a new diner here in Gainesville! The food is incredible - I definitely suggest the Bissell Breakfast. If you choose to go on a weekend, be sure to get there at an early time as lines can get long around noon. But, that just goes to show how great the food and service here is. read more

By far the best place for breakfast in Gainesville. Great service, great menu, and everything I've eaten there was delicious. I'll definitely be back soon! read more

The country fried (NY strip) steak is awesome. The home fries are just the added touch needed to complete the meal.

Nothing spectacular. For a place that calls themselves a diner, a 8pm close time is surprising. You can expect all your diner favorites. If you plan to go for breakfast, get there EARLY and expect to wait. read more

Great chicken & waffles! Great breakfast pizza! And the fried grit cakes were delicious.

OMG the best and biggest serving of chicken and waffles I have ever seen or tasted. I could not eat it all. They were crazy busy for a weekday morning. All the other diners portions looked huge. You get your monies worth. Service was ok. Food was great. Not your typical diner at all. read more

We come in every Sunday and sometimes once during the week. Every time we're there we sit at the counter, and the staff is always very nice to us. The wait and kitchen staff is always happy to see us and they take great care of us. DJ, the manager, greets us with a smile and shakes our hands. Also, the food is amazing, we've tried everything on the menu at least twice. read more

Great breakfast. My husband and I stopped in by chance and were lucky enough to be seated at one of Jordan's tables. Personable and knowledgeable she guided us around the menu recommending this or that, chatting just enough so we felt like long-time customers not the first-timers we were. We shared a bowl of fruit and sipped coffee while we waited for our eggs. The fruit was freshly cut and chilled. Delicious. The coffee was hot, fresh and way better than Starbucks or Dunkin'. Our eggs came out hot and steamy as we finished the fruit. I had the eggs Benny w avocado & tomato and hubby had eggs and bacon. Bacon was perfectly done: nice and crisp and not burned! (Wahooo). The hollandaise sauce was smooth and delish complimenting the perfectly poached eggs. The food was a 4-4.5 stars but the service makes this place a 5! We'll be back! read more

I was so happy when Metro Diner came to Gainesville! I struggle making a decision every time. I've never had a bad meal! Love this place!

Took my girlfriend here great service excellent food and pretty quick! Love this place

Don't know what all the hype is about this place. Oh, yeah, Gainesville, FL has the worst restaurants so this one would be considered above average. It wasn't bad (which is good) but it is nothing to rave about either. read more

This place is amazing! Food is great, serving sizes are gigantic, and the price is really fair, especially for the amount of food you get.

Big portions, big flavors, and friendly staff in a classic diner setting. We had the ohala, croissant French toast and blueberry stuffed waffle. Everything was delicious - with the croissant French toast as the real star. Bring a big appetite. read more

A fabulous brunch for our first time here. Oh-my-goodness-that's-yummy strawberry butter topped a great plate of nicely non-greasy chicken and waffles. Also on our table were a down home plate of turkey and mashed potatoes, steak and eggs, omelettes and a well made croissant breakfast sandwich. Big portions, pleasantly non-salty diner food, pleasant staff. Will go back again and probably change it to a 4-star. read more

Came in at 2 pm, somewhat busy but past the lunch rush. Had the daily special which was fish and chips. It was four pieces of white fish. The breading was light but bland. This surprised me since I don't like spicy food. However it was cooked well. The fries came out cold hard and old. The slaw was good, not too much mayonnaise. Ice tea was nice and strong. Waitstaff friendly. While this is the only meal I've had, if you want fish and chips, go to Cedar River. read more

Quick service, prompt food delivery. That being said, food quality is mediocre and underseasoned. Portions are huge if you're looking for a good bang for your buck read more

It was yummy. Portions where HUGE. very busy but staff was nice. I'd like a place that isn't so loud you can't have a conversation. Not a fan of chains in general so not sure if if be back for that reason. Its one of those you try it, it was good but there are others.. read more

Always always always a good experience here. Today was especially great, our server, Francia was amazing! attentive & kind & we had an all around great experience. read more

To start off with one word, WOW. Not only are the employees here rather accommodating, they are extremely polite and attentive. They made me me feel as if I was a part of their family. You are completely welcomed with open arms. And on top of that, the food is severely filling and you will usually have something to take home. And surprisingly it is rather affordable. read more

I have been here several times and as busy as it get's it is still worth the wait. Kind of always lean to the meatloaf and the sandwiches. They can be a little funky at times. If you sit at the counter, you get a great prospective of the chaotic system they have to push out the food. Enjoy! read more

Delicious food with huge portions but it's extremely busy and loud during breakfast. Great atmosphere
