They have nice seating indoor and patio seating . I was greeted by MJ ( one of the owners ) so friendly and personable . He suggested a variety of their dishes on the menu .... Lots of choices from their delicious Kalbi, fish jun , meat jun and delicious Korean noodle soups . BBQ chicken , bbq meat , lots of choices . I know the controversy between the name of this place and the one across the street in the original location however, I ate at both during this trip and the one across the street and the original location has far better food. The noodles,galbi, the Mac salad and the kimchi were all better at the location across the street. There is always a line at this place! I tried #36, Kalbi bbq and chicken katsu. The kalbi is well seasoned. Wasn't really a fan of the chicken katsu, it tasted as if it has been sitting out for a while. I also got the macaroni salad and broccoli as my sides. Macaroni salad was meh, no taste. The Hawaiian restaurants in LA is much better. Overall, if there is no line, go for it. But I wouldn't wait for it. If I am craving only kalbi bbq, then for sure I'll be back for a #1. This place is right down from the hotel we stay at and it is a good little spot for fast and pretty good Hawaiian breakfasts and Korean food. I ordered just the Hawaiian breakfast of Portuguese Sausage with over easy eggs and rice. For $7 it was great. Everything well well cooked and prepared. After ordering it though I think I missed the boat. Their Korean food looked amazing and although my breakfast was good, their Korean style meats and kimchi looked even better. The prices are great for their location and there is usually a line at night that goes quickly. I think this place is a good place for a fast to go meal. read more

Rude service, but food is so good. They are Korean owned and super authentic, but with that...you get a poor attitude. The woman behind the counter didn't greet us at all and she didn't make any eye contact. At one point, I saw her rudely yell at another customer that requested sauce. The woman specifically told the customer, "this is not spicy sauce! It is for katsu not for Kalbi!" They have signs that sauces are extra charge but she didn't even offer the customer to pay for it. Luckily they are fast and I didn't have to watch her rudely yell at others for long. The food was really good. Meats were marinated well and the mac salad was seasoned. But, the winner was the kimchi! Both the cabbage and cucumber kimchi was *chef's kiss*! Best kimchi I've ever had. It was my first day in Waikiki and this seemed like a good lunch spot. It was empty when I arrived and I checked out the menu and it seemed pretty good. I ordered the bbq chicken which came with rice and you had the chance to pick 4 sides. I choose brócoli and 3 other types of salads. I waited about 10minutes for my food to be ready which was reasonable. I took the food back to my hotel room and enjoyed it there. It was amazing. Got a side of gochujang to add a little spice and definitely recommended. Sides: Got the potatoes, spicy cucumber, japchae, and Mac salad. Mac salads a 4/5, rest are fine but not outstanding. Potatoes were a bit too sweet for my taste. Japchae was a bit bland and spicy cucumber needed to be chilled and was lukewarm so not as tasty. Still, they all were collectively tasty and went great with the meal even though individually they weren't stand outs. Sunny combo special with meat jun, bbq chicken and Galbi: Favorite was the galbi. Meat jun was good but a bit chewy so could have been more tender. BBQ chicken was great. Me and my friends call this place The Pink Place. All order comes with 4 sides (banchan) of your choice and two scoops of rice. I got the number #4 chicken katsu. To be honest the taste was pretty bland and everything were below average. But the people were nice and very generous with their servings, so it's not good for foodie but perfect for cheapskates.
