On a rainy Saturday night I stopped by this Mellow Mushroom in Ocala. There are some great things going here. There is a full bar, wine options, great craft beer and great service. The place stayed packed with folks still coming and going. There was a snafoo with our pizza, but the beer was great and we weren't too hungry, so not harm no foul. The pizza was fresh with great ingredients so there is that. Had a great time here and would return.

Philly cheesesteak calzone. Oh my goodness this was good.

Quite a nice place. I enjoyed watching the bartender mixing drinks. He has an eye for pouring and mixing drinks. I was impressed by his skills!! I didn't even order a drink and left him a tip just for watching. Then I ordered a Philly cheese steak calzone!! Oh my wow!! I suggest the creamy pesto sauce for dipping. That sauce is amazing!!!

Walking into Mellow Mushroom we were greeted by a sweet hostess who asked if we wanted to sit outside, inside at a table or at the bar. The outside seemed very comfortable but we decided to go in and eat at a table and relax comfortably. This was a party of three for lunch and we were eating light. The first thing that I took not of was the decor! It was so relaxed and I guess you can call it eclectic or Hippie-ish with its vibrant colors and very playful whimsical theme. Then we sat and ordered two medium pies to share and they were both wonderfully addicting to me. The pepperoni was typical of a pepperoni pizza a little thicker than New York style but delicious and the other we ordered was my favorite indeed. This was called Holy Shiitake"olive oil and garlic base, roasted shiitake, portobello mushrooms, caramelized onions, mozzarella, aged white cheddar, fresh chives, garlic aioli, and black truffle oil. Soooo delicious honestly! Mellow Mushroom has so much to offer from pizzas of various kinds including build your own. They also have calzones, wings, salads, burgers & hoagies, plant based options and certified Gluten free pizza and brownie! Not to forget munchies if you don't prefer a meal ! If you haven't stopped picky eaters and are in need of variety I think we have the spot right here. If you haven't stopped by please do and enjoy a walk around the quaint fun little downtown Ocala it's a very nice place to be!

I came here for dinner while visiting my niece in Ocala. The place is super on brand and trippy. The menu has something for everyone. The pizza was okay. I found it too doughy even though I asked for it really crispy. It really didn't hit the spot for me but I will say the place was packed. I wouldn't go back though.

    Holy Shiitake Pie

Ordered the holy shiitake pie which was phenomenal. Only drawback was that the sauce was overly sweet which did not mesh well in my opinion, but quite literally that was the only downside of this pie. The other pie was a butter chicken pie special and was so disgusting that with two people we could only finish one slice. The chicken tasted like the precooked meat you buy in a bag and honestly just talking about this pie makes me lose my appetite all over again. Will definitely be more cautious when ordering their specialty pies again

A very cool and popular spot here in Ocala! We have one close to our place in Central Florida, so the name rung a bell. We decided to eat here last minute because the game was on. Saturday night and it was crowded. Our wait, however, was less than 15 minutes when expected to be 45-hour. We sat at the bar, looking to get a drink but the bar tender only served ONE of our drinks until it was time to head to our table. We cashed out. Our server was really nice but service was slow. We shared a calzone and the wings. The calzone was nothing to talk about (other than how huge it was), but the wings were the star of the show. Mild heat, garlic parmesan -- and lots of it! Finally got to try their Moscow Mule and it was a bit on the sweeter side. I don't think we'd return to the chain unless it was in Ocala. The location is in a good spot downtown.

What a nice after school treat! We arrived about 3pm, were seated quickly and on the outdoor patio. The waitress came over very quickly & took our drink order. We then ordered our pizza. We got a large. The crust is yummy! Overall we had a great experience and would definitely return. The outdoor patio is dog friendly and there is a parking lot right across the way. Overall the place was clean and we had great food.

    All dirty tables

There was about probably four tables full at the restaurant when we walked in. It took us about 15 minutes to get our pizza which is totally normal however, we did order an appetizer and never got it. Our waiter never acknowledged it until we were halfway done with our pizza and we just asked for it to be canceled. We were never checked up on. We had to wait at least 10 minutes for a box for our food. When we walked in, there was no clean tables. They cleaned off one table for us and the entire time we sat there all the tables around us remained dirty. Our food was great but the service here is absolutely TERRIBLE and that alone is enough to turn anyone away. The table next to us was also upset.

Glad to see Mellow Mushroom finally open! Such a fun atmosphere and a great place to eat! Because it is a new place, folks are flocking here and it can cause extended wait times for a table and food! Thank goodness for a full bar! We came on a Saturday afternoon before the dinner rush and were seated immediately. Our server Nathan got our drinks and took our order right away. The small Funky Q Chicken Pizza and the medium Great White Pizza came out about twenty minutes later. The food was good and enough to take home for leftovers! When we got up from the table the entrance was filled with people so it looked like they were gearing up for a busy night! It was nice to see so many people walking around town and the Mellow Mushroom is a great reason for people to come downtown!

This location will do so well. If they keep up with the quality freshness and service that they launched with then this will be busy all the time. Fun atmosphere. Great location in DT Ocala. The bar area is wide open to the outside, the kitchen is visible to the restaurant, decor is always great and here is better. Food awesome. Choices lots. Pizza and crust is better than anticipated. I love the Cloud 9 wings. Baked not fried. Fall off the bone. So good. We will be regulars for EVER!!!

They just didn't have any of their own beer. Maybe they are brewing, but if they are not, they should change the brewery in their name to brew pub because the name is definitely misleading. It is really awkward making this review, because I really did not get the full experience. I walked in, looked around, checked out the beer menu, asked if they had any of their own beers. Stella's continues to impress with fresh ingredients and absolutely incredible bread. I wasn't sure since it being 2 years since I was here if they would have the breakfast I had last time. I was surprised they did have it so I ordered the Spanish Egg Breakfast, which came with arugula, chorizo, heirloom tomatoes, ciabatta toast, and a preserve. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the chorizo added a great smoky-spicy kick, and the heirloom tomatoes were sweet and juicy. The arugula balanced everything out with a slight peppery bite, and the ciabatta toast was just amazing--crispy on the outside, soft inside, and perfect with the preserve. I also had the Jamón Serrano Sandwich & split it with my bf. It was just as good as it sounds. The jamón serrano, manchego, and basil pesto were a perfect combination--savory, nutty, and herby--all sandwiched between that same incredible ciabatta. Every bite was fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere is cozy, and the service was friendly, though the wait was a little longer than expected. Still, the quality of the food made up for it. Definitely won't wait as long to return next time!

It looks like a store from the outside but I did see someone sitting inside sipping wine so I was intrigued. As you walk in, there is a spacious seating area at the front of the store. Then it kind of transitions into a market store. There is a counter you order food at and pay for items. There is a small bar with seating next to that as well. We browsed the market items and picked up a couple of items. We went to the counter to pay and that is when I realized you can order food and drinks. If you order something that takes time to prepare, it is brought to you at a table. Since I ordered a glass of wine, I just waited there for it and went to sit. Hubs retrieved a beer from the fridge. The owner was the individual we interacted with and he was very pleasant. There was constant traffic the entire time we were there so I hope that means they will remain in business. The prices were not too crazy and it is a perfect place to have a drink and/ or gourmet snacks. I definitely want to return and try other items on the menu.

When we walked in the door there were no customers but a couple of employees at the counter putting together orders. We walked up to the counter to browse the menu. We could tell there must have been some large orders come in as the employees seemed very busy working with their backs to us. Apparently so busy that they didn't think to say, "Hi", or "Welcome in!"- literally said nothing to us. I asked my wife loud enough for the workers to hear, "Are we ready to order? and she replied "Yes" for them loud enough to hear. Still, that wasn't enough to get the workers to stop what they were doing to help us with our orders, so we walked over to the self-serve kiosk to get our orders in. We considered dining in but weren't sure how long it would take, so we ordered as Take out to be on the safe side. I clicked the button for a printed receipt but couldn't figure out where it printed after I did that. We decided to go sit down. At this point we had been there about 10 minutes with zero acknowledgement from the employees working. I've worked in the service industry before (and continue to do so in a corporate environment), so I understand what a rush is like but I also understand that you're to make customers/clients feel welcome and heard- neither of which we felt at The (Not) Great Greek Mediterranean Grill. As we waited, other customers were coming in. Seemed like some regulars and others didn't seem to have as much trouble getting the employees to communicate with them. Another 10 mins or so go by and I started to notice about 4 different people receiving their orders who had come in after us, so I went to the counter to ask the status on ours. The female employee seemed irritated that my question pulled her away from what she was doing but she looked up our orders anyway. Said ours would be up in a few mins, so I said thanks and I let her know that I clicked "Print receipt" on the kiosk but wasn't sure where I was supposed to get it. She pointed to where it was supposed to come out but it wasn't there and shrugged. I said ok, and sat back down with my wife to wait for our food. At this point, I was irritated with the service and didn't want to dine in anymore. We got our food and left. I received a text to share my experience, and I shared what I'm writing here with the restaurant mgr or owner. I received a text back that they were sorry that my wife and I didn't feel welcomed or acknowledged during our visit. The mgr or owner mentioned it was disappointing that the kiosk and service didn't meet our expectations. They did say they appreciated the feedback, so they could improve and would love the chance to provide better care that we deserve in the future. Maybe I'm being too critical/out of line but if that was my business, I would offer a free lunch or something of value to try and make it right. I let them know that too. We go to restaurants for good food, good service, and good people. When someone has a bad experience, I'd be doing whatever I could to earn that business back. This is not a place we are planning on going back to.

We found this spot when I searched for Shrimp Po Boy lunch and it looked very interesting. We drove over which was only about 8 minutes away from the market so very convenient to the market. Lots of parking so it was pretty easy to find a spot despite it being very busy. 28 beers on tap! So you can definitely find something you will enjoy if you're a fan of beer. The menu is large with lots of options and reminds me of a higher class of bar food. We started with a larger soft fresh baked pretzel that was plenty to share with our group of 3, it came with a really good beer cheese and some honey mustard dipping sauce. Really liked the pretzel and the dipping sauces found myself eating and dipping as I sipped on my chocolate coffee stout in a fun 10oz glass that made it very refreshing. We ordered our entrees as the music started back up and while the music was good it was so loud we could no longer have a conversation at our table without shouting so it would have been great if the volume was a bit lower since this was Sunday lunch not Friday night beers. The food arrived in stages as it is served as it became ready from the kitchen. First out was the blackened fish tacos my mom ordered. She said they were good but not spectacular, she ate just the fish out of one and took the rest home. Next out was our friend's bang bang shrimp and they looked amazing. The presentation was very nice and he offered one of them for me to try. Very crunchy batter and delicious sauce however it overwhelmed the shrimp and you could not taste them, which depending on how much you like shrimp could be a good thing or not. Next out was my shrimp po boy and why it looked good the ratio of shrimp to bread was way off. 3 maybe four whole shrimp to a huge bun. The shrimp were the same style as the bang bang shrimp just a different sauce. While the sandwich was good I basically took a few bites to get the whole experience and then just ate the few small bits of shrimp and left the bun. Maybe if I had not eaten the pretzel I would have liked all the bread as it did taste good but definitely not enough shrimp for its size. The chickpea salad was definitely the star of the entree as it had so much flavor and was amazing. Service was great and they were very attentive and offered samples of the beers if we wanted to try them. Highly recommended for beers and snacks but not sure I would recommend the seafood. I would like to go back and try the pizza and a few more beers!

She then chose the chicken fried steak with mash potatoes & green beans. I had the braised short ribs Mirepoix, garlic mash potatoes & csteamed carrots with short rib reduction! We topped the night off with a delightful PRINCESS DIANA'S Taste of Ocala award winning Bruleed Bread Pudding w/ fresh berries & Amaretto , Almonds!! Btw, the Chicken fried steak is offered every Sunday. Our server, Joanne, was excellent and very knowledgeable!! The only downside was about 3 items unavailable due to heavy traffic on Valentine's Day on Saturday. The tables were candlelit, clean, and seating was comfortable. I wont mention our coke & tea, we just dont imbibe in alcoholic drinks. But it appeared they had a wide assortment of choices!! I recommend THE BRAISED ONION!!

We got sat right away and greeted by our server. Our server was nice and helpful with the menu. We ordered fish n chips, Hawaiian salad, pow pow chicken, and chicken picatta. The salad came out with fresh ingredients and the dressing was delicious. The rest of the food was not good. The pow pow chicken was mostly breading and no chicken. The few small pieces of chicken we did have were way over cooked. The fish and chips had the same problem - mostly breading and no fish. Also, they don't have tartar sauce. I've never been to a place that sells fish n chips that doesn't have tartar sauce. The dining area is an open concept. There were some plants spread around the place is clean. Over all, the server was nice but the food wasn't very good. I wouldn't recommend eating there. We will try someplace else next time we are in town.

Considering the place was pretty busy at 9am on a Sunday. We were told that there was usually a 15-20 minute wait with how they make the pancakes, but we were not in a rush anyway, and really needed coffee first to wake up after rushing due to an emergency phone call at 5am to get to the rehab center where my mom is at close by. Our food arrived in about 10 minutes, Oh, and these are not your granddad's pancakes. These are pancakes on steroids! Delicious and fresh these monsters are huge and more than enough to fill your belly. They have an all you can eat option too! That's nuts! I was ready to be rolled out of the place after my one serving. Our server was terrific, friendly, funny, and attentive. Filled our coffees a few times, brought us ice water, and made our morning a bit more cheerful under the circumstances. Our meals were prepared just right, but those pancakes are the stars here. We ordered the 2-2-2 combo - 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 strips of bacon or sausage, $15, and worth it. As the owners had more of a farm stand and eatery before moving to this spot they have kept that cozy and quaint vibe with the decor and assorted items and jellies for sale in racks by the entrance. Clean bathrooms. The dining area offers plenty of seating with booths and smaller tables, clean and bright. Many breakfast, brunch, and lunch items to choose from. Located in a corner spot at the end of a strip mall which has a Planet Fitness and near Walmart.
