I was in the area with a friend and his daughter. We visited Silver Springs and were ready for lunch. His daughter said she wanted a burger and we found this spot. There are a few tables outside, right by the door. There are signs that make it clear they are non smoking tables. We decided to eat inside, were seated right away and our server came quickly. She told us what some of the popular burgers were and we made our selections based on that. I had the Jamaican burger cooked medium. This burger was cooked perfectly, had good flavor, was topped with a sweet and spicy jerk sauce. It was everything that I expected. My friend had the Brie burger and his daughter had the smash burger and they both said those burgers were very good as well. Our server was attentive to our needs throughout our meal. We showed up tonight to celebrate my birthday (today), my hubby's (Monday) and our daughter in law's (this past Thursday). Couldn't think of a better place to eat, drink and be merry at! Tonight was "trivia night", which, while we didn't play, we did enjoy trying to guess the answers. Our grand daughter's face was a big "O" of amazement when realizing the upper tables were enjoying roasting their marshmallows at their table...when she was told they were making s'mores...she went nuts! She's so excited to get tableside s'mores! My wings were even better than they were last time since there was an addition of seasonings sprinkled on them along with the dill pickles, but unfortunately, our cheeseburger pizza suffered from not having enough mustard and ketchup base to it, the tomatoes were enormous chunks and so were red onions. It made it very difficult to eat without things falling all over your clothing since they were such huge chunks on top of the tiny pieces of pizza. My husband got the steak bomb sub, son got a pepperoni Stromboli, daughter in law got the Sharon's Brie burger, grand daughter the child's cheeseburger and fries. Our apps were the garlic knots, mild wings (10) and fried cheese curds with sriracha ranch dipping sauce. Everything was okay, except that it took forever for everything to come out, compared to our first visit. Even our s'mores seemed to take forever. The quickest part of the whole visit was the bill . The fella that waited on us the first time was on point. Not saying that the young lady waiting on us was rude or anything, but I think she was trying to do too many things at once and some things just fell by the wayside. Last visit we came in on a Saturday as well, but perhaps some people are just better at multitasking? I don't know. This time, our bill was over $200 with tip, but we still brought home food again. Not a lot compared to the last time, only 2 little pickle wings (I still can't get enough of those darn things!) and maybe 4 slices of pizza. My husband's loaded tots weren't to his liking, so there's something even for the dog tomorrow We may stay away for awhile and see if they manage to work out some kinks. If anything, the best rule is consistency. If the food preparation is not consistent every time you go to eat there, there's a problem. There should be NO deviation just because someone else is cooking it. All recipes should be the same. Twice we've ordered the same items and they've been different. This was an incredible find, we were checking out our future RV Site in Silver Springs S.P. and afterwards decided to visit a local establishment for lunch before leaving the area and heading back to our campground in Astor - Brooklyn's Backyard was exactly what we're hoping to find, once the hostess seated us our absolutely exceptional server Jessi greeted us and the fun began, not only does she represent this restaurant well she is a true professional and extremely friendly and attentive, she didn't miss a thing. We explored the menu while Jessi got our drink order and returned after only a minute or so to take our lunch order, everything we order came with an accurate description and she made sure everything coming from the kitchen would be to our liking. We ordered a cheese burger and 10 wings with blackened seasoning. The burger was amazing, so fresh and well constructed we chose fries which were served hot and crispy. The wings were perfectly cooked fried crispy as requested, they were hot from the fryer and dusted with the perfect coating of blackened seasoning with a side of ranch (delicious). There is nothing I didn't like about this place including the reasonable prices and especially the 4% discount for paying with cash no need to pay a credit card company a fee when they don't contribute a thing - do like I did and leave your server the extra 4% on top of a generous tip especially when they put the extra effort in like Jessi definitely did. Stopped here on a little weekend adventure and glad I did. My best friend and I came in about mid day on Friday. The place is really cute inside! We were greeted and sat really fast. We got cheese curds to start and I got a burger with tater tots. The cheese curds were really creamy with nice breading - I was really happy with them. My burger was delicious. I love that they do a brisket/ground mix. Service was great and our drinks were never empty. I would definitely come back. read more

We stopped by this place while out and about and decided to pop in for a quick bite. Both of us ordered their smash burger--my son had his plain, and I went with the standard version. Unfortunately, mine came without the sautéed onions as listed. I tried to flag down our waitress, but by the time I got her attention, my son had already finished eating. That said, she was friendly and courteous throughout our visit. The burgers themselves were excellent--cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The atmosphere has a laid-back sports bar vibe, which we enjoyed. Taking two stars off for the order mishap and the wait to get it addressed. Ok so here it goes so we have been going to this establishment for many years we don't go regularly due to we travel ALOT!! It's been a couple of years I believe since the last time I came and this time I was so disappointed!!!! You see I came in with a party of 7 5 adults 2 children now my biggest pet peeve is to serve one person food while the rest of the table has to sit and watch you eat especially when there are kids that don't have there food. So yes it's Friday the restaurant was not slow but was not packed either the was ALWAYS a couple of empty tables in fact there were 4 or 5 empty that just had not been cleaned yet because this place doesn't seem to think you should be in a hurry to serve your customers!!! Now we came in and was disappointed that they changed the menu that's ok I can always find something but I could not believe they removed all the salads but a small side salad Disappointed still but ok! Now the service was a little slow but we finally got our order in that was even slower getting some kind of food on our table!! I happened to order some garlic knots and fried cheese I was going to nibble on then take some home to the hubby but this is where the problem started they brought them out and I was the only one who had food on the table and 2 toddlers that were hungry so I shared because now we are still waiting for any other type of food to be put on the table next out was my calzone still no other food put out they others in my party ordered salads and they still hadn't received anything not even their salad I had to ask for them so the babies could have some thing to eat!!! I at that time explained to the server that is a very uncomfortable situation for the whole table and the anger set it about that time as we watch the table that came in after us had received their food and we still had no food but mine on the table they finally brought out a slice of pizza for one of the babies that I am sure was a frozen pizza that they sliced and cooked as hard as a rock and the cheese was overcooked how do you expect a 2 years old to eat a slice of cardboard!!! Now at this time I am still the only one with food and a hamburger finally came out but Still no food for the rest of the table WHO DOES THAT!!!! And we are still watching other tables still receiving food before us!! Now the frustration sets in and we are now asking for to go containers for what food we have and to put the rest to go because as we were trying to express our concerns to our server she decided to stomp off in mid conversation!!! OK I AM DONE NOW!!! MANAGER PLEASE!!! I am assuming that the manager doesn't like being disturbed by its customers because she came out with an attitude!! FYI I have worked in customer service for over 20 years and have traveled all over this country and ate at restaurants all over and NEVER have I seen a server stomp off or a manager be soooo rude to its customers because of their mistakes!!!! Yes she discounted the tickets and she even comped the calzone I ordered to go but I am sure she did that because I had canceled that order by then and wasn't going to pay for it either way!!! Hopefully someone will read this and take these 3 words and implement it in their training process 1 accountability. 2 apology 3 empathy!!! These words can save your business if you learn them and use them wisely!!! I noticed that you choose to reduce your menu because your business was struggling according to some of your previous reviews well I think if you work on your customer service that may just help out a lot more than just minimizing you menu!!! For our server if you read this I am a good tipper I start with 20% when I walk in the door it can go up or down that all depends on you!!! We went yesterday. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our server was friendly. We both had tap beers for beverages. As for the food. I ordered a signature burger and it was over cooked as well as my fries. The overall taste of the burger was good. My wife had the Philly cheesesteak with Mac and Cheese which were ok. When they first opened food was great . Continued to decline the few times we continued to give it a chance . Tonight was unforgiving as the French dip was ;( The way they got away with "shaved beef" was overcooking till crumbly and what I thought was cheese was always fat (don't know how it didn't disintegrate from overcooking and the ""au jus" was literally just beef broth prolly out of a can. Great Thursday special of $1 wings. You can do 5 wings per flavor and I believe you have to order increments of 10. We were in town for an appointment and went with family. This hole-in-the-wall restaurant hidden in a shopping plaza is just what the doctor didn't order, but it's just what we needed for an enjoyable, filling meal. The staff was amazing and welcoming to this group wandering in to a backyard themed restaurant with a menu which had a variety of options. We started with an order of pierogi's as we're originally from Pittsburgh and it would be a sin not to if they're on the menu. These appeared to be handmade and had some sautéed onions and sour cream so they know what they're doing! Yinz will love 'em. Everyone else at the table orders some kind of burger and they all enjoyed them immensely. I opted for a Calzone as that's one of my old favorites and it was an excellent and large version of one. I was starving and this did the job for sure. I wasn't planning on getting a beer, but they had one of my favorites, Allagash White, on draft. It was refreshing and a good way to kick off the meal. Wow! Who would have thought that little Ocala, Fl would have such a fun and tasty place to eat! The outside does not even do justice to cute space inside. You feel like you are on someone's front porch with a cute bar area. And the food - wow so good. I ordered the Angry Chicken flatbread and it was so delicious. Made with their Angry Orchard compote, Brie cheese and blackened chicken - it was not to be missed. They have a wonderful selection of local craft beer and the Luna Lemonade does not disappoint. I only wish I had had the room to order the tabletop S'mores that you can cook at your table - yum it looked delicious! I'm still a lil confused as to exactly the theme of this spot. The name made me think "New York", and the menu's pizza and pasta kinda goes along with that. But then there's a tiki bar...and a "St. Croix" burger that clearly is meant to be a different St. Croix than the island I grew up on - cream cheese and sweet chili sauce don't really evoke any thoughts of home... I realized maybe we are in the backyard of someone named Brooklyn - there is a mural that looks like a wooden fence and mismatched tables...overall a very homey and comfortable vibe. I'm going to start with the negative - I was not impressed by the Alfredo sauce. I was in between the burger and the Alfredo, and asked the waiter to confirm that the sauce was homemade like the menu stated. He assured me that it is was...but I'm not entirely convinced. The seasoning on the chicken saved the dish. The burger was excellent, and the fries were well seasoned and and had a delightfully crisp exterior. Love that you can scan the bill and pay from your phone, but the waiter called out to make sure that I had done so on my way out the door. Maybe it's a new feature and they aren't used to it? We were in town for a family outing and checked Yelp for local restaurants. This had great reviews. Yelp reviews are usually on point, but this time, they dropped the ball. My wife and I are originally from Brooklyn, NY, so the name kinda swayed us to stop in. Once we walked in, we put 2 and 2 together and realized someone was named Brooklyn. Definitely, nothing in here is Brooklyn. We had a pepperoni pizza, which right away we were like this ain't it. The dough tasted just like these typical pizza chains that people call pizza. The sauce has a distinguished taste, which might be an accidental creation, and they ran with it. Our children had their kids item, which wasn't too bad to them. Overall experience is definitely a no for us. Just because it's named Brooklyn backyard doesn't mean the food should taste as one's backyard. It's an establishment like this that gives new upcoming restaurants in this area a bad name. Please reinvent your establishment and find some cooks that have the love and passion to cook. read more

We ate here today with a group of about 30 of us that we sprung on the restaurant at about 3 PM (unintentionally as we had a miscommunication and thought the other had called ahead). They were super-gracious and got tables ready for us quickly, took all of our orders and got the food out hot and delicious. The food here is above average. I had the rice bowl with the barbecue pork, and it was absolutely out of this world. I was particularly impressed as I have an allergy to wheat and dairy and I'm very limited in terms of what I can eat, and this was literally what I would pick, even if I could eat anything else on the menu. This restaurant gets a star because I don't have an option for a half star or no star!!!!! My husband and I met some friends at Brooklyn's Backyard for dinner. We will never return to this restaurant. The menu has changed since I was there last. Not as many options are available and the food was mediocre at best. We paid too much for a greasy pizza and a cold dry chicken tender sandwich. Our friend had it worse. He ordered a burger with tater tots and his wife had wings. She received her wings and he received the tater tots. We received our meals and he still did not have his burger. Two different people came to the table and apologized and advised it would be out shortly. He was offered another side while he waited. We all finished our meal and were ready for the check before the burger ever arrived. I swear it was at least another half hour after they knew he did not have his food. Brooklyn's Backyard charged him for the entire meal and the complimentary side he was offered while waiting for the burger which arrived after everyone else finished their meal. I do not know what the excuse was for his burger not being brought to the table with our food, because the music was so loud in the restaurant we really couldn't hear each other at the same table. read more

We were visiting in Ocala and went to Brooklyn's on our SIL's recommendation. It looked busy but we were seated promptly. The decor was down home comfort and that was certainly the atmosphere. Our waiter, Dave, was great. He was friendly, attentive, and kept an eye on us to assure we were happy with the food and our drinks were refreshed. I had the rice bowl with shrimp. Every bite was a little different: pickle-y, spicy, sweet, savory,.... It was great and something I would order again but After I tried other menu items. Cheese pizza, wings, Angry Orchard burger, fire ball burger, and coconut fried scallops (OMG!) we're other ordered items and they were all great. Went there to try out their pizza ordered the cheese bites. And boy where they bland. Apparently you have to dip them and cover them and sauce and their sauce is spicy. I thought there was something wrong with me on the flavor so the wife tried it and she said Yep no flavor. They exchanged it for some garlic knots which were huge. I ordered the meat, lovers pizza, and those meats on there were very tasty. I think the pizza needed a little more sauce. It's a New York style. We tried some of her apple cobbler and that was pretty tasty as well. This isn't the best pizza I've had in Ocala but it's pretty good. I would go back just not order that cheese bites. Family and kids there. I saw a small bar. It looks like they have some specialty beers but I don't drink alcohol so I don't pay attention that much. Years ago I had some of their other food and it was pretty good but they used outdoor chairs as the theme of the restaurant and couple of them were uncomfortable so we didn't go back for a while. I chose the St. Croix with salad. Mark also took our server's recommendation for a draft beer and ended up ordering a second one.
