Stop along the way home. Craving a cold sandwich and their hoagie sounded really good. Seat yourself. Large menu. Service was pretty good. Got water right when we sat down. Server seemed a little short but got the job done. The hoagie was piled high and tasted pretty good. Had some wings that were cooked well and good flavors but a little chewy. Michelle is the owner and is very friendly. Food was fresh and cooked to order. I loved my breakfast. Can't wait to order a Philly. Marielle the waitress said the bread is shipped in from Philly all the time. Everything here is done the right way, the only way. I am catering lunch from here this week and can't wait to see all the food. This is in a small strip mall or commercial building with like 5 businesses. Citra is just north of Ocala, FL and it's worth the drive up. Michelle is awesome and very proud of her food. She loves food, sports and people. I will post pictures of my lunch during my next visit. I tried to go there for lunch today. There was only one server and I don't know how many people were in the kitchen. The place got packed and we sat for an hour and a half and never got our food. There's no excuse for that. We could've at least been told that it was gonna take a while, but that was never addressed. I was so disappointed. We drove 40 miles to get there for lunch right before 12 noon today. I found the waitress gave her money for our drinks which she tried to give back but, I insisted that she take it and told her that I was tired of waiting after an hour and a half. We left. This is a smaller restaurant that has some great flavors. We had heard about their authentic cheese steak so my Pennsylvania born hubs decided to try it. The first time we tried it? Closed because of a mechanical issue. The 2nd time? It was a Monday! Third time was the charm. He ordered the cheese steak and I got the Italian hoagie. Really wanted to love this place. There were 12 of us. We regularly go to restaurants. We are a motorcycle group. I called ahead one week prior to let them know we would be coming. While the service was friendly enough, it took way, way too long to get our orders. A third of us were done eating while the other two thirds were still waiting. It took me almost an hour to get my cheesesteak. While the food was decent, and the server friendly, it is doubtful that we will be returning. read more

We visited Flyers on 12/22/24 at 230, hoping for breakfast- but that ended at 11. . So we're pivoting to a light lunch. The waitress is efficient and good natured. There are 5 booths, 6 tables and two highboys. It's got a bit of a sports bar vibe (duh Philly Flyers), but with a very Florida vibe. Gator, shrimp, smoked meatloaf, Philly cheese -ok not Florida. Because I was looking for a light meal, I ordered a BLT (which includes their special mayo). It was excellent!! The service was prompt, good natured and piping hot. We shall return! read more

Three of went in around 2:00 pm Sunday. We were seated pretty promptly but then we waited forever before anyone even brought us menus. The server took our coffee orders. Dropping them at our table, she said she would come back to take our orders. Three more times she walked past our table, each time telling us she would be back to take our orders. At a friends recommendation, I went to Flyers Café today to check it out. I was quickly greeted by a friendly staff and offered any seat that was available. I tried the Philly cheesesteak at my friends recommendation. The owner has the Philly rolls flown in fresh, which I found very nice and very well suited for a Philly. The sandwich was filled with white cheddar cheese, onions, and very flavorful steak. All their sandwiches come with a side of fries. Overall great experience, and good value. An absolute hidden gem of a restaurant. I can't overstate how amazing the food is. Virtually everything served is made from scratch by the owner, and you can really taste the effort and attention to detail. Their homemade "Slap Shot Sauce" is to die for and must be had with the shrimp platter. The clam chowder (also made from scratch) is the best I've had since Maine. The food was great! Great staff - Melinda treated us very well. Stephen the chef who was working when we came is an AMAZING chef - I strongly recommend trying any specials he is having. The service was awful, it took an hour and a half to get our food, extremely unpleasant and frustrating experience. The food was decent but it took unbelievably long to get it and the server said "it's not my fault". We sat down at 11:10 on a Sunday morning and were told we could not order from the breakfast menu so we ordered lunch even though we wanted breakfast and there was still breakfast being delivered to other tables. We did not get our food until 12:45. At one point the server said there was a delay because they were switching over to lunch service although we were not warned of that when we arrived. The server was inattentive, avoidant, unapologetic, and unconcerned about our experience. We 100% would have chosen to go elsewhere if we had any clue about how absurdly long it would take to get our food. The few times that we could get our server's attention she claimed that our food was "next up" which was just not true. Again, if there had been any communication about the extremely long wait we would have understood and adjusted our plans. When our food finally arrived we had to take it to-go because of the extremely long wait. Three other tables that arrived after us walked out without their food just as we left. read more
