Cheeseburger and loaded tots
Stacey A.

Holy cow! Yelp never lets me down. Burger and loaded tots were exactly what i needed today. This Depot Park area is super cute. (Wish the beer garden was open, but it is only 3pm on a Wednesday so i get it). Weather is perfect today so that adds to the "ambiance"

Came here after watching Gators vs Hurricanes baseball game. (Go Canes, 13-6) and I'll say I enjoyed my cheeseburger very much. The interior was pretty cool. Food came out pretty quickly considering there seemed to be only two employees working. So here come my two complaints, like I said once we ordered food, it came out quickly but it still took a good minute to place your order as cashier kept going to the back to help out. They seem to need more employees. My only other complaint was my daughter's chicken tenders were crazy overcooked and kinda burnt, I only realized after she was almost done and I took a bite out of one of them. So all that being said when I'm up in the area again I would totally come back.

I was on my way to Tallahassee and decided to stop at a fun place in Gainesville for lunch. The Depot Park has a wine/beer restaurant, and a burger restaurant. Since the beer and wine place was closed for a private event, I decided to give Goldies a try. I ordered the 4 piece chicken tenders at the counter, and a can of diet Coke. I sat at a table on the porch and a couple minutes later, the tenders came. It came pretty hot and juicy with a side of the requested ranch sauce. The tenders were good and had an ample amount of breading, but found the seasoning was a bit salty. I found the ranch sauce was vegan, but it did have a decent flavor and was creamy. However, for 6.25 for 4 small pieces, I found it to be a bit expensive. The counter service was very friendly. The attendant was a bit busy at the back, but acknowledged me. After a minute, he was at the front and greeted me. My tenders were served to my table once it was ready. He asked if I needed anything else, but all were available at the counter. The dining area is pretty small with about 4-5 tables in an open aired porch. At least it was covered and had fans. There was a TV playing an animated movie, and they had a Florida gator kiddie ride for 50 cents. The kiddie ride was generously long (about 2-3 minutes) and gentle adults are also welcome to ride. The beer and wine place was next door, as well as a convenience store. At the park, there is a big playground and water area for the kids, and a pond with a fountain. The pond has real alligators relaxing there. There is a walking trail, but beware of the alligators, snakes, and biting bugs. Parking is free at the park, but can be cramped. Instead, you can park across the street and walk to the depot. Goldies is a nice burger joint at the Depot, and the kids seem to enjoy it as well. Next time, I will try the burgers, but I wish they had other burger meats other than beef. The service is friendly and while the dining area is small, the atmosphere looks cool. It's close to the university so it is a good place for the gators to chillax and enjoy.

i waited in line forever and started to get nervous cuz it looked like they were understaffed or maybe didn't know what they were doing back there but the burger and fries were so fire. i sat outside and people watched in the park, so perfect

I've never had an actual meal here, but I got their onions rings and they were to die for! The atmosphere is super cute and it's very convenient if you're at the park and need a snack/meal. The service is decently quick. I got the Goldie's sauce with onion rings as well and it was amazing!

Ok my husband is a burger SNOB. He was obsessed with this burger and for good reason it was delicious. I am so glad we picked this for my birthday lunch after we went to the natural history museum. We both got the double cheese burgers and my husband added bacon to his. The fries were also really good and whatever seasoning was on it was a perfect blend of sweet/hint of spice. The prices were reasonable and I appreciated the birthday note! Highly recommend if you're in the area!!!

While I was in Gainesville for a doctor's appointment, I was getting hunger and was thinking burger. The hamburger gods separated the clouds on a sunny day and spoketh, make thine burger golden, BOOM! Goldie Burgers I went. On the grounds of the beautiful Depot Park, a great places for families to have a great burger n fries. There is a big, kids park and I mean big! So he brought the food out in a classic lunch brown paper bag, first sign of great food. The burger was wrapped in cafeteria aluminum foil, second sign the food is great. From first to last bite, fresh, hot n juicy. Not one bite was disappointing. If your in Gainesville, why haven't you been here yet? If your passing through Gainesville, stop by, your appetite will thank you. And after that great burger and fries, walk it off around the beautiful Depot Park.

This place is located right in Depot Park and is built into an old train car. Really cool ambiance due to this construction. The restaurant is counter service. You order and then pick it up. They're known for their burgers and patty melts. They have assorted fried potatoes like fries and tots. I ordered the double and a side of tots. It was very good. The tots were crispy and the double was fresh and tasty. I'd recommend trying this place out.

Shrimp Po'Boy Goldie's Burgers at The Depot Station

While at Depot Park, I was surprised to find Goldies Burger located at The Depot Station; I didn't know I would like fries at the park this much. I immediately loved the open atmosphere, lunch food options, perfect for a day date, visiting the Cade Museum, or just at Depot Park (a.k.a Dog-friendly). Order at the counter, the staff was quiet yet very friendly when asked questions. The menu is excellent for a variety of land, ocean, and farm. The Snacks are perfect for the location. The Food: Fast and fresh, overall fried goodness. We had the crunchy Buttermilk-Fried Chicken Tenders with Honey Mustard and tots and a Fried Shrimp Po'Boy with fries. Mask policy continues to be enforced for all, so bring your masks. :)

My friend and I met after we parked our bikes. She was sitting outside, and as I was locking my bike, less than a block away, she texted me. I just walked to her without responding, and with a smile and a hug, we walked in to look at the menu. The sandwiches have some very creative names that go along with their creative construction. I got a #10, which was a fusion of French dip and Philly cheese!! I wanna buy the person a beer, whoever thought of that one! Even though it was busy, we didn't wait long to order. Every sandwich comes in a paper bag, so you can take it out or stay and munch. We got a combo with chips and a drink, because how else do you eat a big sandwich like this?! There are board games to play, decor that is not typical and a big display of Guy Fieri, from the Food Network, that lets you know this place is on America's culinary map. After the sandwiches were done, I brought them out to my friend Kimberly, who was saving our table. We both were hungry, so out of the wrap and in with the teeth. Mine was full of flavor and the fact that all the sandwiches are heat-pressed, made the texture very satisfying. The au jus was thick and delicious and made me think someone took great time and effort to make it. It is a casual restaurant, great for a date or a group of friends, or a solo quick lunch, that can also be a dinner as well. The food is somewhat pricey, but it delivers as a good meal with a creative touch. They could have emptied the garbage can more quickly, as it was more than overflowing, when I went to throw the garbage away. Memorable food, and makes me want to come back to try at least two other sandwiches that I read about.

We also got a Pick Two combo: a strawberry banana smoothie (with oat milk, banana, strawberries, flax seeds, and agave) and the Thai Chicken Crunch salad (romaine, red cabbage, roasted chicken, carrots, celery, and wontons). Everything was decent and fresh, just nothing that really stood out flavor-wise. We took everything to go since we were busy getting her room set up, and it worked for what we needed--a quick, fairly healthy option. Located in midtown, this appears to a fast casual place that caters towards college students. They serve "Greek" street food, salads, quesadillas, burgers, and more. The food is relatively inexpensive. Service is fine, actually the people working there are friendly. Food is made to order and comes out quickly. There is some seating available inside (it's limited) but there are plenty of tables in the hall. I ordered the Street Chicken Souvlaki which included grilled chicken with tomato, onion, fries inside a pita, topped with ketchup and mustard. This was a very large portion. The pita was good, but pretty much fell apart the second I picked it up. While I liked the chicken, it was over seasoned and I didn't care for the "sauced" quality of it. I'm not sure if they marinated it or tossed it in some sauce, but it was too much. The fries were decent, but not super crispy. I felt that they were not necessarily and a little over-the-top. The tomato was fresh and but the red onion slices were very thick. The mustard and ketchup didn't work with the seasonings on the chicken. The dish was just all over the place and I couldn't even finish half of it before I started feeling sick. I ordered a side of onion rings as well. This was a large order and the size was great. But these onion rings were over-battered and were fresh, but not crispy at all. I bit into one and ended up pulling out the whole onion rings. Not good. Overall, I was very disappointed with my experience. The food was so heavy and overly salted I couldn't even eat half of it. I ended up giving it to a homeless person on the way out. The food left my stomach in shambles the rest of the day. Service is fine. But the food is not desirable. It is safe to say I will not be returning, which is unfortunate.

Nobody from the restaurant came out to help or apologize and it wasn't until dishes were almost toppling out of the bin that anyone took them away. Menu is pretty diverse - you can get some traditional items or more eclectic. We ordered the green goddess salad, croque mademoiselle (ham & cheese sandwich) on gluten free bread & okonomiyaki (japanese pancakes with cloud eggs). It took probably 30 min to get our food. The food presentation is really lovely & feels special when it's delivered. However, taste left something to be desired. The Japanese pancakes weren't good. The egg specifically looked really pretty all puffed up, but was so bad none of us were willing to have more than one bite. There were some other funky flavors going on there as well that detracted from enjoying it. The ham & cheese sandwich was okay, but the cheese is put on the outside, including a runny cheese, so it's a total mess to try and eat. Definitely do not order this one on a date! We ended up just eating the inside portion. It does come with a small green goddess type salad, which is nice. The entree green goddess appeared great when delivered. Loved the light, fresh dressing and ingredients. However, lots of the lettuce had sort of rotting tips, which made me worried to eat it especially since this isn't the cleanest place. Despite appreciating the quirkiness of the restaurant and the selection of fresh options they offer, we won't be returning.
