Looking for a place to eat on the way to Williston and this place seemed to pop out on the left hand side of the road. Too be honest, it looked out of place in the middle of horse country, but upon entering, all it needed was for Jimmy Buffet to be playing and the smell of too much Coppertone to make it perfect! Outside patio seating was available, but there was inside seating and a long bar to make anyone feel at home. Separate rooms had pool tables and an internet jukebox played the tunes. We got there on a Saturday afternoon in October and the Gators were having their way with Vanderbilt on one of the many televisions in the room. We ordered an appetizer of the Tater tots with cheese sauce and this was a mistake! There were only two of us and this appetizer could have fed six! We looked over the menu, which is extensive. We settled on the French Dip and a Caprese Salad. There was nothing fancy about them, but they were good. This is about as bad as it gets when it comes to food. The taco meat had almost no flavor, barely any meat, and was mostly lettuce. The steak on my mom's salad was undercooked and so chewy it was nearly impossible to cut. The fries were soggy and dripping with grease. It would be hard to make food this disappointing if you tried. The only thing this place seems good for is cheap drinks and getting hammered, if that's your thing. I would never recommend coming here for the food. read more

The Cuban sandwich was good but had the wrong type of pickle on it. The onion rings were hot and not greasy. I was a bit underwhelmed with the beer selection for a full bar. I stopped in early afternoon for a meal since I was working in the area. For $10 I was served the best burger I've had except at home. Even better was the fries, planks of fresh potatoes cooked perfectly. Next time I visit I will order the old bay fries, they smelled so good as they passed by. I had heard some really good things about this place so decided to give it a try. My partner and I met a dear friend here for lunch... It is located pretty close to her home but a good little drive from I 75 and Ocala. Located in the heart of horse country, and close to the HITS horse show grounds, they call this place the beach because there is a large sandy area out front. There is a long porch across the front of the building for outdoor seating and the decor is appropriate for a place called The Beach. The indoor seating continues that theme. The place was not overly crowded but we were there for a late lunch so I'm not sure if this is typical for that time of day on a Thursday. My friend tells me this place can get pretty busy especially on the weekends and in the evenings. The menu was comprised of a variety of salads, burgers, and Paninis. My friend got the hotdog which she says is fabulous...grilled right out back. My partner got the Cuban and I got the margarita Panini. My partner said the Cuban was good but the pickles were a little too sweet. She preferred the pickle wedge that came with the sandwich...more of a kosher dill. My margarita Panini was great. It had tomato, basil, and fresh mozzarella. It was pressed perfectly and my only suggestion would be for them to melt the mozzarella a little before putting it on the sandwich and pressing. It was a big piece of mozzarella and it was not melted all the way through. Other than that, it was delicious and I ate it all. I also enjoyed the fresh-cut french fries which are cut right on site. I don't like french fries overly crispy so these were perfect for me. If you like them more crispy you might need to ask them to cook them longer. Overall, I would have to say my experience here was pretty positive. I forgot to mention that my partner and I got margaritas which were pretty good. They don't have a very extensive beer list but they have the basics and ditto for the wines. Full bar. So, based on this experience I would have to say that I would come back. read more

This was a very uncomfortable experience. The ambiance is also awful, the ambiance as in the people who go there. As soon as we arrived we got strange looks, I'm assuming it's because I'm Hispanic looking and this is a very country /small town? It's hard to tell sometimes. But we Walked inside same thing. We still sat down and gave it a try, took them 10 minutes to come assist us, no hostess so we had no idea where to go before we sat down. Then we waited another 10 minutes, just simply waiting for our water, the guy never came. So we just got up and left. This is my go-to place after a long day and I need to get some good food and a beer for really reasonable prices and I want to hang with friends in a relaxed atmosphere. It's a cool setup with a porch where dogs can hang out and the staff are super friendly and helpful even when it's crazy busy. While we have lived in the area for two years, we finally took the plunge and stopped at this little restaurant/bar just down from the HITS grounds. My wife and I each had the huge 1/2 pound Angus beef burger. What a huge burger for $10. The fries were slightly overcooked but had good flavor. The bartender, who doubled as our waitress, was very engaging and attentive. I'm surprised this location hasn't been added or rated before, but the place seems very nice and clean. read more

Drinks are always good. When the service is great (Ian) it's awesome, when it's not you are going to wait almost an hour for a cold panini. The owner seems very unfriendly. And the food is not as good as it used to be. The panini bread is not as good or it is being rushed out cold. I'll be back for drinks but will go elsewhere for dinner. read more

Fairly new to the area and thinking this was another typical bar/grill, I passed by for months with no immediate plans to visit. We agreed to meet some friends there for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised by many things: the food quantity (and quality), the atmosphere, cold beer, a full-service bar, and (fairly) friendly staff. We visited a second time in the evening and found the same quality of service and food. Reading some comments on regulars vs. outsiders, we did not experience this. The inside bar staff could have been a little friendlier, given you are in the service industry; but, meh, get over yourselves. Give them a second try and take into consideration that one or two staff employees on a random day/night doesn't necessitate a 1-star rating. I have not met the owner, so I cannot speak to their niceties (or lack thereof.) A note for the owner(s): The outside surf board benches are unique and well suited for the theme; but you must consider a proper foot rest either under the board or the table. May be a few miles off the interstate, but it's worth the quick drive!!! We got there a little before they opened, but was greeted warmly and was welcomed in!! I instantly fell in love with the atmosphere and the area. What a great local place!! I saw people walk in who were greeted by name, I was so impressed with the 'cheers' vibe. :) I ordered a Bloody Mary for starters, which was sensational!!! I ordered the Buffalo chicken panini..
