Since then, I have visited several times and have had a positive experience each time. Cheney Brothers is food distributor headquartered at this location in Ocala, FL. This location appears to not only house a warehouse for the food distribution, but there are also corporate offices and a retail store. The store is open to the public, and is where I have visited when coming to this location. There is a private parking lot that has direct access to both the loading area and the retail store. When pulling into the parking lot, security will greet you at the entrance. As long as you tell them you are visiting the store, they will let you right through. They will also likely check your receipt when you are exiting. But, you do not need any special type of ID or verification to enter and park, though it may appear that way at first. The entrance to the store is right near the loading ramp, and there are steps and a ramp to be able to enter that space. It has recently been remodeled within the past year or so, so it is clean and modern. The selection in the store includes items that the company sells for its food distribution business. For whatever reason, they have some available to the public to buy at great prices. There are food service supplies, non-perishable items, fridge and freezer items, and more. The selection, especially for the food items, is always rotating and different. I have seen fresh produce, different meats, and other varieties of food available in the freezers and fridges. It simply depends on their stock and what gets put out. Some of it is more of a bulk purchase, but other items can be bought individually or in lower quantities. The staff in here is friendly and always helpful. If you buy a larger quantity of items, they will bring it out on a lift to your vehicle. I have personally never had a bad experience here with any of the staff. The retail store at Cheney Brothers is a unique opportunity to get high-quality items at very great prices. It is fun to stop in and see what unique items they have on their shelves that day. I do not think it would be a great place to do all of your grocery shopping. However, it would be either a great supplement to your shopping, or if you had to buy in more of a bulk. If you are in the area, and have the means to store a larger amount of food, I would recommend stopping!
