My go to spot for viet food in north seattle area. Prices are fair + the food is always consistent. Their pho, BBH, and bun rieu are bangahzzz. This time I just got two different non-soup dishes. Now I did mean to order one vermicelli + one rice dish... but got two noodles... but shoot I ain't hating hahahaha. Everything's good here!!

Pho Ga, how I like to eat it... before mixing

Located on a desolate stretch of Aurora Ave, this place could easily be passed by without a thought. If you choose to venture inside you will find a simple and friendly environment with, in my opinion, the best Pho soup in Seattle. The fast friendly service is welcoming and the quickness of Pho to your table after ordering is impressive. There are several other Vietnamese staples on the menu but I always order the Pho Ga, because it's one of the best Pho soup bowls I've had and I just can't stray from it. The pre-pho plate of Thai basil leaves, sprouts, limes and jalapeños are always fresh and abundant. The broth is a beautiful light brown and not overrun by fatty clumps, instead offering a deep satisfying flavor that once properly seasoned to taste with Sriracha and Hoisin, is heavenly to sip. The pulled strips of tender chicken are just the right texture and provide a hearty balance to the cooked onions and noodles. The noodles are always made to perfection, a firmness that makes them feel substantial but also a silkiness that almost melts in your mouth. The combination of the crunch of the sprouts, the aroma of the basil, the tender chewiness of the chicken and the softness of the noodles, all swimming in that delightful golden brown broth is simply beautiful. I am now craving a bowl and will be heading out shortly. I've gone to Mekong Village many times now and the most impressive thing to me is that it is ALWAYS great. I have not once had a dud experience. I really can't say that about most places.

Good authentic viet food! Came here because my partner was craving bun rieu and this place cane up a few times when looking for a good bun rieu and bbh spot. I got the banh xeo and my partner got the bun rieu. We also shared a nem nuong spring roll and viet coffee. Spring rolls - nem nuong was tasty Banh xeo- batter was super crispy and there were full pieces of shrimp inside Bun rieu- I didn't try but my partner said it was good Would come here again! I wanna try some other things on the menu. Reasonable prices, friendly staff, and a parking lot :)

My friend & I came here for the first time & enjoyed the experience. Outside is nothing spectacular (but at least they have a parking lot!), but inside is nice. Nice Asian décor which I always like. Was expecting a lot from the food due to the reviews written but neither my friend nor myself were super impressed. I would be happy to come back here, but wouldn't drive out of my way for the food. We both had an entrée and an appetizer. I had the fresh shrimp spring rolls for my app and it tasted good and didn't fall apart. For my entrée I had to noodles with beef and vegetables. The entrée is large portion so I was able to take home leftovers which is always nice. The service was great, we had a very sweet waitress who was helpful and went out of her way to take care of us.

Bun rieu

I was craving bun rieu and we happened to stumble on this place which had a whole variety of Vietnamese food! The interior doesn't really give Mekong haha but i guess it was a tad village-y. The service was super nice and quick. I ordered a bun rieu (ofc) and it was fire . It felt like the soup was punching me with all the crabby umami tomatoy flavor. The rieu itself was so good too. My only small qualm was that it was super oily. But otherwise... I'm so coming back for more bun rieu. Yes the area does feel a bit odd and a tiny bit sketch but so worth!

So this spot will clean out your soul and all the alcohol in your system with just a couple of spoonfuls. The bun rieu honestly beats anything my own viet mama ever made (please no one tell her). Ohh and the rice dishes esp the pork chop my god had me licking the plate. I've learned the sketchier the neighborhood the better the food bulk approved.

Bo bun hue , pig blood ,pig knuckle and sausage! That and a 33 beer !! Excellent !!

I would easily say Mekong is top three Vietnamese places to eat in WA. I've been to A LOT of Vietnamese places in order to find a few really good spots that my significant other and I can keep going back to and this place is one we always go to if we're nearby. I've taken a lot of other friends here and they all love it. It's one of the few places that remind me of Việt Nam. The only thing missing are outdoor tables and chairs that are so low to the ground you might as well be sitting on the floor while you're listening to the motorcycle honks and sweating from the heat and humidity! The service is nice, the food is good, the wait isn't too long. Truly such a great place to always come back to. It's not the most extravagantly decorated place but a lot of phenomenal Vietnamese restaurants are very homey and comfortable versus upscale. I personally love the decor and the vibe, but it might not be everyone's cup of tea if you want something fancier. I really recommend people to try Mekong if you already haven't. They have a fantastic selection and it's always so good!

My girlfriend and I stopped in before a flight, which in hindsight was a mistake. We ordered around 12:30 PM (niku beef udon, garlic pork udon, and chicken karaage), and it took nearly an hour to receive everything. The karaage came out first after about 40 minutes, then one udon about 10 minutes later, and the final dish close to an hour after ordering. Because of this, we weren't able to eat together unless one of us let our food go cold. On top of that, the restaurant itself was uncomfortably cold, which made the long wait feel even worse. It also seemed like many other tables were experiencing similar issues--orders coming out at different times or missing entirely, with customers having to repeatedly follow up. What stood out most was the lack of communication. There was no acknowledgment of the delays, no check-ins, and no apology--not when the food was dropped off, and not even when we left. Given that we had to pay upfront and the price point was $20+ per bowl, it made the experience feel even more disappointing. While the portions were decent and the noodles seemed handmade, the food itself didn't feel particularly special to justify the wait or cost. I truly hope this feedback is helpful. With better timing, communication, and overall service, I think the experience could be much better.

Luckily I was able to snag reservations, but you do sit pretty close to the tables around you. We didn't mind since we had a corner table. To share, we ordered the chicken curry nasi lemak, sayap ayam pedas, and kaya toast. All three dishes were phenomenal, each with its own distinct flavor. The sayap ayam pedas was a huge portion for just 2 people, but we couldn't stop eating. The combination of soy sauce and fish sauce was not overpowering at all and the chicken itself was so juicy. The chicken curry in the nasi lemak was delicious with the coconut rice. Along with the anchovies, egg, peanuts, and sambal, it was a choose-your-own-adventure kind of bite. The kaya toast was the perfectly sweet dish to balance out all the flavors. I especially loved dipping it in the poached egg for a satisfyingly runny bite. I left feeling so full, but so motivated to come back and try more dishes. Highly recommend!

The roti jala is an always-order, and great for sharing. The laksa is really good, and a great option for vegetarians. I personally like the nasi lemak, but just be careful not to add all of the chilis they provide you, as that can really overwhelm the flavor of the dish. The nasi biryani is good -- the beef rendang is wonderfully flavorful but not the most tender rendang I've had. Portions are satisfying, thankfully, since all the entrees are about $20 and up. This place is a true gem, serving satisfying, delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere at an affordable price. The restaurant looks small from the front, but space is used efficiently and they manage to fit quite a bit of seating into not that large of a dining room. Tables are mostly four tops, quite spacious at that, and surrounded by sturdy wooden chairs. I came for dinner on a Friday evening and there were a few other tables at any given time. Service was quick and our water never ran empty. We had the wontons in hot oil, topped with peanuts, I had the beef chow fun, and my dinner buddy had the pork with hot sauce noodles. The wontons are very very good, stuffed with flavorful pork and swimming in a sauce that sits in that perfect spot at the intersection of hot and sour. The peanuts and scallions add a delightful crunch. Their beef chow fun satisfies every bit of childhood nostalgia I have for this dish, with lots of wok hei, bouncy noodles, and the most tender of beef. I think my favorite beef chow fun in the city still lives at A+ Hong Kong Kitchen, but this is a close second. The portion here is also huge. I am a human vacuum and I actually brought leftovers home, which is rare for me. The pork with hot sauce noodles is seemingly a fusion of zha jiang mian and dan dan noodles. My friend really enjoyed it and actually finished the whole thing, which is saying something given that she doesn't usually eat that much. There are so many other items on the menu that I'm eager to try, so I will definitely be back.

I did get a chance to sample the delicate pork pieces and the flavorful rice. The slightly crispy rice at the bottom of the pot were so delicious. I had the Singapore style fried noodles.
