Update: 4 stars to 3 These busses are bouncy as f**. It's seriously becoming a problem. Can't focus on reading or doing work; my laptop gets airborne from my lap every 20 seconds. Bus is rickety as I don't know what. Writing this from the bus. Baltimore to Boston and Back. Honestly nothing is terribly wrong. Buses have been on time both ways. Drivers are pleasant minus this lady driver who kept bullying people on the road by not letting them cut in front of her - - AT ALL. (This was kind of sad and scary) My biggest complaint, and thus fair warning to all, is that these busses are suuuuuuper sensitive to road conditions (bumps, dips, potholes etc..) there were a few times where I almost got projected out of my seat due to bumps and dips so make sure you wear your seatbelt. read more

Megabus has the best hours between the DMV and Baltimore, however, service tends to suck. The vinyl covers on the reserved seats make them slippery. Therefore the ride is uncomfortable. The buses tend to be late but God forbid you do not show up before the recommended grace period, there will be an issue. They oversell seats. My last trip, the driver was tired, swerving and almost careened into objects and other vehicles on the road. We barely made it to the Chesapeake rest stop where he went to purchase coffee and probably cat nap for about 30 minutes. There is always an issue. The service doesn't match the increased prices and "improvements" made. read more

This bus is NEVER on time. Then it always stops a million times on the way there! If you call the customer support line people never give you a decent answer on where your bus is. Why can't you put a tracker on your buses ? I'm tired of getting mad at this company and then Loosing my tempter at the employees who doesn't deserve it. read more

As I right this my daughter is on a Megabus from Boston to NYC. The bus stopped about an hour outside NYC because the driver could not work overtime. So driver just pulled over on the side of the road and now they are waiting for a new driver to come. It's been 40 minutes of just waiting on the side of the road. They will not pay drivers overtime for a scheduled drive?!?!! Ridiculous. read more

Sitting on Megabus now. Waiting for another driver because this one had met her maximum amount of hours to drive today. Did she not know how many hours it takes to get from NYC to Washington D.C.? My nephew was on the exact same bus last night with a different driver. SAME THING HAPPENED TO HIM. So now we are 1 hour from union station but won't get there for 2 hours at best. UNBELIEVABLE. This is truly a case of getting what you pay for. Beware of using Megabus. Greyhound would not have this issue. In addition...it was 30 degrees in NYC and the bus did not arrive until 5:56 for a 6 pm departure. So we stood outside on the sidewalk and froze! Again...the greyhound terminal is warm!!! Guess what I'll be using next time I have to take a bus? read more

Booked 2 weeks ago for june18 trip got cancelled for seating reasons..... went to reschedule for another bus leaving that date.. none available now Mega bus telling me a refund cannot be issued.. We took the 4:20 am bus from Balt. To NYC yesterday and I have some serious concerns with the driver of that bus. I was awake the whole ride, and the driver swayed often, riding off and on the rumble strips. I wondered if perhaps it was wind so I watched the semi's, they seemed to be driving fine. I was pretty concerned! t one point we were next to a semi and the semi honked loudly at our driver, who in return "honked back". Then when we were in a slow speed near Secaucus , traffic was tight and there was quite a bit of stop& go. Our driver squeezed past a semi and hit the Semi's side mirror! The semi honked and at no point did our driver stop . The sound was loud! We were SO glad to be off that bus! Coming home our driver (7:30pm from NYC to Balt) was a very good driver. He was cautious and paid close attention to construction warnings and moved over for police who had pulled cars over. He , however, had the air conditioning at full blast the entire ride. It was a miserable time! Everyone had coats and hats on, still very cold. Someone asked the driver twice to please turn it off and he nicely said he had adjusted it, it was freezing the entire trip. My phone said 47 degrees. I am not sure if it wasn't working or if the driver didn't know how to use it, it was the least of my worry after the awful morning ride. We've ridden the megabus before but it's been years, we had no issues then so megabus was the first choice this time. Next time we will look around before choosing, the morning driver really gave me serious worries!!! I also wasn't sure why on the website you had to pay extra to sit in certain seats when everyone sat wherever they wanted and probably only paid the $1 . No one mentioned upon boarding the bus that if you have a reserved seat to check your seats or whatever. We ourselves had to tell people. I would like to say though that both drivers were on time. Which is very much appreciated. read more

Sucks, sucks, sucks, left Union Station 8:00 am. Headed to NY. No AC on bus. It is broke. It works if we are out of gear. How bad is this, terrible. Never again. Ever. read more

NEVER AGAIN. MegaBus makes it very clear on their website that you MUST park in the *West* lot at White Marsh MTA Park and Ride - any other location and you're subject to being towed. It's spelled out on their site - you MUST park in the West lot ONLY. What they don't tell you is that there's not NEARLY enough parking available there for their customers' use. DO NOT plan to park at the MTA White Marsh lot on a weekend. When we arrived, before 8:15am on a Saturday (so - ahead of MANY travelers on later buses), ALL of the marked spots were full, and cars were already parked in the middle of the lanes, blocking traffic. We had to do a three point turn in one aisle because we couldn't get through. We were not alone - the lot was full of people looking for spots, and wondering what to do since there weren't any. After looping the lot three or four times, we realized we had no other options - we couldn't park in the other park-and-ride lots or we'd get towed... that's made VERY clear on the Megabus site..... can't park in adjacent mall parking overnight or we'd get towed (there are signs that make that clear, too)... and we can't look any farther away for somewhere safe to leave the vehicle or we'd have to walk back... and be later than the 15-min-early rule, which is also very clearly enforced! So I found a spot in a wedge-shaped area between lanes that would allow me to leave my car in the West lot without blocking traffic. I diligently put the Megabus sign with our departure/arrival times in the window (which to me screams "I won't be back 'til much later - go ahead, break in!") and spent the weekend worrying that it would be towed since it wasn't in a marked spot. When I came back, thankfully my car was still there - but it was ticketed... twice... once by Baltimore Co Police, then again by MTA Police. TWO separate tickets for the SAME single overnight period. Many of the other cars parked at the curbs were ticketed similarly. That seems like quite a racket - MTA leases Megabus a lot, Megabus tells customers to park there - knowing perfectly well there's nowhere near enough parking and no other options... then MTA makes $25 per car that gets caught in this trap. And presumably Baltimore County has no interest in intervening in this scam as they're making $52/car off the same situation. And really, the idea that two DIFFERENT jurisdictions are making money off this scheme is absurd. One or the other should be enough fleecing, don't you think? In addition, regarding the actual ride: There's no bathroom-break stop in the middle, as you get with other bus lines... the driver never said a single word to us about anything, and the bus itself was a charter from Dillons, so: no wifi and no outlets - amenities that Megabus advertises will be available. So to recap: we didn't get what we paid for in the first place... and how big of stretch is it to wonder if there might be a kick-back to Megabus for their help in NOT informing customers adequately about the ACTUAL parking situation? My advice - and what I will do in the future - is to pick some other bus company... because by the time we pay these fines on top of the ticket price, we could have taken Amtrak. read more

At this point, I'm not even mad at Megabus. I'm mad at myself for giving them a chance when they f*** me over time and time again. The last FOUR times I've ridden Megabus from Baltimore to nyc, we have hour-long breakdowns, made multiple unannounced stops per trip, and been hours late to depart and arrive. If you paid me to ride a Megabus again, I wouldn't do it. I write this on my last Megabus ride ever, 30mins out of NYC. We have made two unannounced stops. I will be late once again. Alas, I am ecstatic. Once i step off this bus for the last time, my life will be immeasurably better. I challenge anyone to find a more shambolic organization. read more

I've been in the States for 10 months now, and have been using the Megabus service for 5 times so far. The Megabus was late 4 out of 5 times. 2 rides in Florida, and 2 rides from Baltimore to NYC and back. The late times were between 30 minutes to an hour. No one to complain to. Last ride I booked from Baltimore to NYC was on time at 08:15 AM, unfortunately I was late by 2 minutes and I could actually see the bus leaving and it didn't stop although we beeped at it. Customer service was really not helpful and they wouldn't even refund those $7 in case you booked a reserved seat. I did get on the next bus at 09:15 AM which came on time, sat down on a non reserved seat of course. Megabus is better than Greyhound, but is definitely far from being perfect and needs to work on its service. read more

Well truely saying if I had option than I will never get the service from megabus. Reason: 1. They have no waiting room and you need to face all the cold under the open sky. 2. If you arrive early before one hour of your departure, and there is a bus for same destination, they will ask you for $5 extra to get into that bus. But if anytime their bus delays 30 mins or an hour, they will never offer $5 refund. So true. 3. The ticket checker isn't a cool guy and he will lie. Like if you refuse to give $5 extra and ask if he can let you go now instead of your actual time as it is freezing cold outside; He lied by saying bus is full, even though it was half empty. I recommend to take greyhound instead of megabus for baltimore to new york if you have option. Grey hound is way better than megabus. read more

I reserved a seat for an 11:30 pm bus and it did not come until after 12:30 pm (I expected it to be late). The bus was extremely hot so we drove for 30 minutes and was told that we will stop at a rest stop to switch buses due to improper AC. We had to wait at the rest stop for 30 minutes for the next bus to come. Once we've gotten on the new bus (which was just as hot), the driver left some of the passengers at the rest stop and we had to wait an additional 30 minutes for the first bus to drive to us and drop them off. A 3 hour and 20 minute bus ride turned out to be a 5 hour bus ride. When I called customer service, no one could answer the phone for hours, so I emailed them with the complaint. They ignored the fact the bus was extremely hot and leaving passengers at the rest stop and responded saying weather and traffic is out of their control, which has nothing to do with what I said. Horrible experience overall, the cheap ticket was definitely not worth it. read more

December 23rd and the only departure time from Philadelphia to Maryland is 530pm waited in the pouring rain, since there are no actual covered bus stops designated for megabus passengers and without prior notice the departure time changed to 7pm, no refunds or explanations! Today I intended to travel from Philadelphia to Washington DC. My bus was an hour late in arriving and as we stood there in the queue waiting the staff said nothing to reassure us and when asked whether our bus was on its way said "they didn't know". When the bus finally arrived, credit to the driver he drove as fast as he possibly could to make up time, however that resulted in the radiator in the bus to give off a large amount of smoke! We are currently waiting outside Baltimore for another bus to collect us in 45minutes to an hour. If I don't get my money back I can safely say that this was the worst travel experience I have encountered. read more

Awful.... Currently sitting at a stop in Baltimore waiting on a 1pm bus that is already an hour late. I've called customer service twice and they have NO ANSWERS except that a "substitute bus" is being sent for ours at an unknown time. She said if the bus didn't come for 20 more minutes, then call back again. By that time, the next bus is scheduled to be here anyway... What the heck. They sure do their best to get you off the phone as fast as possible with as little information as possible. I'm pretty sure this bus was cancelled and they didn't inform anyone because when I searched for the status online, the only times I was able to search were for 11:55am and then 2:30pm. There was not even a 1:00pm bus listed. The 2:30 bus is probably going to get us and this "substitute bus" is a hoax. Awful customer service by Megabus. Completely ridiculous leaving their customers in the dark like this. All passengers for the 1pm bus should be refunded. This is a complete waste of time. We can't even leave the stop because no estimated time was given. I will definitely be thinking twice before using Megabus again. UPDATE - I called back after 20 more minutes as requested, and this time she said the bus left at 1pm. THERE ARE 20 PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN SITTING HERE SINCE 12:45. A BUS DID NOT LEAVE AT 1PM. She kept repeating that she couldn't help me because the bus left at 1pm and that I could purchase a new ticket for a bus. You've got to be kidding me. This keeps getting worse. read more

I've taken them before and they are fine. However, I bought a ticket by accident and they said "we have no refund policy". They wont allow me to refund the trip, now I need to be stuck 20miles from my house. That is a stupid policy, they just stole my money. read more

I used Megabus long time ago. It was not very organized when the bus stop was located near Pen Station in NYC. Recently, I tried it again, and it was a lot better and improved. I reserved the seat, so it was very comfortable. I enjoyed the view for the three hour trip. The price is still much more inexpensive than other buses even though paying for reservations. The bus started and arrived on time. I really liked Megabus. read more

Horrible experience. Waiting for 45 minutes this morning. The attendant nor the 800 Customer service could say when the bus was coming. After an hour, gave up and went home. I read some of the other reviews, and have to admit, I was a little nervous about my first experience. And listening to some of the frequent travelers in line with me talk about their bad experiences, I was even more nervous. But overall, this was not a bad trip. My niece and I were booked for a day trip to NYC, leaving White Marsh in Baltimore at 7:30am. We arrived about 6:45, had no trouble finding a place to park, and just killed some time in the car while we were waiting for the bus. Around 7:10, we walked up to the stop, which wasn't too crowded, and were told the bus was going to be about 10 minutes late. OK.....10 minutes isn't so bad. But listening to the woman in front of me, I was worried that our 10 minutes would expand (it didn't). The bus arrived, we got on board, and were on our way with little difficulty. My only issue once on board was the woman behind me who would NOT shut up, who only had one volume (LOUD), and who had a very annoying habit of snorting when she laughed....and she thought she was hilarious, so she snorted a LOT. When she told her seat mate, "I think I should take a nap", I couldn't stop myself, and said aloud "Please!". He apparently heard me, and told her, "Yeah, I think that's a good idea", and the rest of the ride was in peaceful silence. Note to self: Next time, take headphones or earplugs. We had one odd occurrence, once we were in NJ, the drivier unexplainedly stopped at a service area, got out of the bus, locked all of us in, and disappeared for about 15 minutes. I can only assume that he really had to go to the bathroom, but it would have been nice to have an explanation for why we were stopping and it REALLY would have been nice to not have been locked in the bus. But moving on....... We arrived in NYC, enjoyed our day, and made our way to the pickup location. The bus departed on time, and the only issue we had there was with a woman behind us in line who complained that she thought someone else was cutting into the line ahead, so she took it upon herself to cut in front of them. And the Megabus employee saw this and allowed her to do it......irritating, yes. But not enough to get my blood pressure up over it. I'll let my voodoo doll take care of her instead......... Overall, it was a good experience and I'll definitely do it again. read more

We took the Megabus out of Baltimore to NYC and back. The White Marsh pickup location is kind of inconvenient unless you live north of Baltimore. It's right off of Honeygo at the Park & Ride lot. Make sure you park in the WEST parking lot and printout the Megabus display and fil out the dates and your license plate number, this needs to be displayed in your windshield. The Megabus website says you must do these things or your car may get towed while you are gone. The bus pickup was near the entrance to the Park and Ride. You must walk from the parking lot to the pickup, it is not far. When the bus came, they looked at the printout of the reservation; MAKE SURE you have your reservation # with you. The bus was on time, not very populated and well airconditioned. It was a comfortable ride and no complaints except that you are not allowed to eat or drink on the bus (some snuck it though). It's about a 3.5 hour drive, a verrry borrring drive of just trees until you get to NYC. The dropoff is in the middle of Manhattan, the location of the dropoff is on the website. The ride from NYC to Baltimore was not that great. It was PACKED and the bus was 1/2 hour late. The 2nd tier of the bus was HOT...the ceiling windows didn't help as the sun beat down on us, plus hot air rises so...should have known better, we were pretty hot. The back of the bus windows had no visibility b/c of the Megabus sign that covered it so we couldn't see. Get there early as the line was very long to get onto the bus. The pickup location in Manhattan is also on their website. Overall it's a great deal for the money. However the ride back was uncomfortable since it was so packed. This was in the middle of the summer mind you, so may not be so bad other times of the year. And bring entertainment for yourself, they have wifi and electrical outlets! read more

Megabus is pretty rough. It will get you from one place to another in one piece but it won't be pleasant or stress free. Most people don't like riding coach buses to begin with. At least mega bus offers electric outlets and wifi at every seat, that forces me to give them a 3rd star. My biggest qualm with megabus is that the drivers seem completely unphased about getting riders anywhere on time. The last two trips I have been on have had departure delays of over 30 minutes and the time does not get made up. The seats are pretty tight and the bus drivers go very slow. I will pay an extra 60 dollars and take Amtrak next time. read more

if you can afford to spend a little more for a train or plane, do it. I traveled from Whitemarsh, MD to Boston. They were a little late picking us up. Left half hour late. On trip home from Boston, we left 3 hours late, driver stopped to pick up a stranded bus and held us up even more, then waited through a weigh station for 20 min for no reason. Half the stuff in bus like outlets and wifi don't work either. If you do go sit on top level so you won't have to smell the bathroom read more

If I could give 0 stars.. I WOULD. Wow. Talk about a nightmare... For starters, the bus driver was completely UNSAFE.. talking on her cell phone for practically an hour.. (DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY LIVES YOU HAVE IN DANGER WHILE YOU'RE RANTING TO YOUR BABY DADDY ABOUT PERSONAL ISSUES.. NO ONE CARES GET OFF YOUR PHONE!!!) She hit the rumble strips while driving approximately two times... She yelled at folks several times to get off their cell phones because it was causing a glare(um maybe you should wipe off your dirty freaken front window) I am contemplating calling for a refund although I have heard that their lackluster customer service is a waste of time. Mega Bus is a MEGA NO!!!! for 280 dollars for a few people I'd expect better customer service.! read more

It's convenient and well priced. Quick trip to NYC from Baltimore. Outlets are nice to charge your phone and wifi, when it works, is also nice. They say you can't eat on the bus, but everyone does anyway. Make sure you get there early at White Marsh so you can get on and find a seat. Check in with the person at the stop and they'll give you a number and that's the order you get to board the bus. read more

Megabus canceled our bus at 9:20 on Christmas without sending an email to let us know. Maybe there weren't enough reservations on our bus, but they're not giving an explanation. I planned a girls trip to see the Rockettes for Nov 15, 2018 to New York. We also had a 5 and 8 year old with us. The trip was fine going to NYC. However, when we came out of the show, it had started to snow, not heavy, but enough to cover the ground. We headed over to board our bus only to find over a hundred people waiting in line for buses to open their doors. Yes open the doors!!! The buses were there but as you approached the bus, you saw there were no drivers!!!! I then walked a little further to a bus loaded with passengers, again no driver. The passengers told me they'd been waiting on the bus for two hours for someone to drive them to DC. I later saw the driver coming back to that bus to grab his bags. When I approached him, he told me he lived in New York and he was going home!!!! I watched this driver walk away from the passengers on the bus! I then saw a megabus car, I asked the supervisor what was going on, and where was our bus to Baltimore. She told me she didn't know, and wasn't even aware of my bus! Huh???? Then she starts calling drivers, of course no answer. She ended up saying, "I don't know what to tell you" and rolled the window up! We walked and walked looking for a hotel to stay in, since it was obvious we had no ride. I called megabus to get a ride out in the morning. We were told it would be an additional $68 plus a $12 transfer fee. My sister paid for her and her children so they could get back home in the morning. But guess what? After getting her children up at 4am to walk in the rain Megabus never showed!!! They stood in the rain for 2 hours waiting for a bus that still never showed. She ended up begging a driver who was going to DC to please let them ride on his bus. He obliged and although she doesn't live in DC, it was a little easier for her to get back home. I chose to pay $86 on Amtrak to assure that I would get home. I will NEVER ride Megabus again!! The customer service was unbelievably poor. Even if the drivers were afraid to drive in the weather, the nerve of them to just walk away, offer no assistance, and leave passengers stranded! read more

I don't know where to begin with this company. For a first-timer, this company really put a bad taste in my mouth. Let me start from the beginning: On Friday, December 8, 2017, my mother and I purchased tickets to see "CATS" on Broadway. Because we didn't exactly want to drive, we took the Megabus, which was $171 to and fro. We decided to take the 3:00 bus because we were informed that we would get to our destination by 7:15, which was enough time to get to get some food and get to the theatre. NEGATIVE! That is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what happened! En route, we run into not one, not two, but THREE accidents on the beltway and traffic. Now, I understand the accidents because things happen, due to people not knowing how to DRIVE. But, as for time and as the company, you need to be more consistent with your time. Don't have listed on your website, "Megabus from DC to New York: 3:00 - 7:15" if that is not the time you are going to arrive at the destination. The show was 8:00 and the bus arrived at New York at 8:40, causing me to would have missed the show, considering that my mom and I would've had to take a 20 minute Uber ride to the theatre, which would've meant only seeing like 50-something minutes of the show. Believe me when I saw that I was CRUSHED. I want to make something very clear: If you're going to have designated times on the website, BE PRECISE AND BE CLEAR AND BE ACCURATE! Don't lie about it and have passengers thinking they're going to get somewhere on time, only for that not to happen! And another thing; if you're going to be a mediocre company, just go out of business! At least Greyhound has some sort of decency to communicate with their passengers on whether or not they're going to be late to their destination. Final Note: GET IT TOGETHER OR GET OUT OF BUSINESS! read more

Terrible service - currently stuck at a weigh station off 95 after bus broke down. Have been waiting for nearly 2 hours in the cold and the drivers are far from apologetic or helpful. read more

This bus company may be an inexpensive way to travel but it sucks!!!! If I could I would give them zero stars! It never fails that every time I use this service the bus is late and the bus driver always run out of driving hours and need a replacement bus driver to drive the last 1hr of the trip. Just horrific!!! This time not only did we not find out that the bus driver could not drive the last hour for us to get to our destination but this time I have to wait an additional 10 mins for another bus to come with room and another 30mins before that bus took off to continue the trip, how's that for service . Not to mention the bus was almost a hour late departing. So you risk sitting in your reserve seats that you bought and possibly sitting with your friends. If you have a choice use Bolt, Peter Pan, or anything else for your travels!!!!! Mega bus should not be a choice when traveling read more

I was on that fated 9/22/12 ride from NYC to Baltimore (White Marsh) per T.W.'s review. I won't bore you with a reiteration of what T.W. wrote, but will say that I sent a complaint to MegaBus and was promptly replied to with a refund for the NYC to Baltimore leg as well as a comp r/t ticket for my next trip. I was going to just begin to use the train from now on, but with this level of service from MegaBus, I think I will give them another go! We'll see what happens. I only give a three because as T.W. and others have said, the electronics are not really the best on MegaBus. And because of the breakdown a lot of people were not able to recharge their phones to get rides from the White Marsh station. read more

So I am sitting on this not-so-awesome Megabus about to sweat to death cause the air conditioner isn't working. Not only is the AC not working, but the advertised 110v outlets and wi-fi are not working either. The driver keeps repeating she can't do anything about it but we just stopped in Baltimore to drop off some people....why did we not change buses? Things break, I understand! But if Megabus really cared that their passengers were sitting in an inferno for four hours they would have changed buses, especially when the bus was making an expected stop. read more

Day trip from Baltimore (White Marsh) to NYC. Much better than our experience with Boltbus. Free parking! Bus arrived/departed approximately on-time both ways. Our 9:10p return bus was making a rapid beeping noise on the upper level. I have no idea what the alarm was for, but the bus was running fine otherwise and the driver said he couldn't do anything about it other than call for a replacement bus (which the crowd declined). So instead of being able to rest during the ride home we had to suffer through 3.5 hours of CONSTANT RAPID BEEPING... (those DC passengers probably suffered 4.5 hours) The ride was torture and there is no reason why the bus' operator shouldn't have had the tools and/or training to deal with the alarm sound, since whatever problem it indicated had no affect on the bus' operation. read more

Just say no. This has got to be the worst form of transportation in america. Yes the rate looks fantastic but as the saying goes "you get what you pay for" instead of my usual driving from baltimore to Trenton then taking the NJ transit into NYC I decided to try the Megabus. it was cheap to book the night before and despite all the terrible reviews I thought I'd give it a shot. For starters The pickup isn't in Baltimore it's in White Marsh. and if you didn't print the parking permit you'll be fined and towed. There's barely enough space for all the megabus patrons cars to park. The bus showed up on time, but the driver was the rudest, meanest not taking any questions bastard I have ever encountered. He was throwing people's luggage in the storage area as if it was trash! and it didnt matter what any of us said he just continued to shovel our bags in there and he didnt care. we left right on time. get this - we're in august - and there was no a/c on the first floor of this bus!!! it wasn't working!!!! there was an elderly couple who asked about the a/c and douchbag driver raised his voice at them saying "if they don't like it he ll drop them off at the first rest stop on 95" are you kidding me????? we were completely shocked! we were lucky to find an understanding couple upstairs who switched w the elderly couple to help them out. the ride on this hell bus was shaky and wobbly and not comfortable at all. the bathroom door didn't lock so the door kept slamming. the outlets didn't work for our phones and there was no WiFi. when we got to ny it was only 10 minutes late. everyone on the bus told the driver well be making formal complaints. his arogant ass just laughed and said "go ahead - it won't do anything" the nerve of this asshole! and he made sure to remove his name tag! I'm leaving new York tonite and im not using my return ticket on mega bus. I'm going to buy a one way on Bolt Bus then find a way back to my jeep in parking. Seriously - everything typed here - this is no exageration. read the other reviews. Do not ride Mega Bus. read more

I don't expect much from mehabus, I mean.. come on' ladies and gents its super cheap. I have never experienced a time when the bus hasnt departed or arrived on time, so that's always a plus. However this past weekend, I was a little disappointed with the service. Departed from White Marsh on a Saturday morning to NYC. The bus arrived and it was a commuter bus, not a double-decker megabus.. meaning no charging ports or Wi-Fi. Not to mention the bus was so hot that the passengers felt that we were in the Zahari Desert. People kept informing the bus driver that it was hot and he tried to turn it down but something was malfunctioning with the bus, therefore people literally were pouring sweat. After about 2 hours the bus driver pulled over and wound up taking the rooftop emergency windows off the bus and we continued to the city with them off. It was a little cold but way better than being hot. Now on the way home, Sunday morning around 6am.. I went to get on the bus with my "confirmation number", as that is what the website states is necessary to bring and the paper only said 1 passenger (although I paid for two), so I was required to buy another bus pass to get home. $30 later... and the attendants told me to call megabus and get refunded, that it wasnt their problem. So because they weren't prepared with the authorization/confirmation numbers (like that of the White Marsh Park and Ride) I had to purchase another ticket on the spot and barely found a seat on the bus. I'm sure I will use Megabus in the future because you cant go wrong with the price but I will most definitely will be well prepared, since the bus service isn't. read more

Tried the mega bus again. My bus was for 12 midnight and I got there at 11:30pm. At 12:50 the bus still hadn't gotten there so I call to find out where the bus was. They lady on the phone told me that the bus had gotten there at 12:30 and I said to here that's not possible because I've been sitting here since 11:30 and no bus ever came and there's about 15 other people waiting on the same bus. Her response was "well that's what it's saying in my system. Feel feel to write an email if your unhappy". Mind you I always take the same bus from Baltimore to New York so I know I wasn't at the wrong location. I waited until 2am and no bus came so I just left and took the Greyhound that morning. I should of never wasted my money on megabus. read more

I do not recommend this company for your transportation needs. Our bus broke down with no updates from the driver or customer service. We had to take alternate transportation to make it to our destination and Megabus would not give us a cash refund for our tickets, even though their website states they give refunds for situations in their control. Customer Service was very rude and hung up on us when we tried to ask why they were not providing refunds. Please consider using Bolt Bus instead. read more

The company didnt inform me that a bus that has DIFFERENT NAME AND LOGO is also used for megabus travel. My bus was was at 2:50, and there was a different bus at the terminal. At 3 a megabus rolls up and when I showed the ticket to the driver, he says I missed my bus and this bus will leave at 4:15, I can take that bus if I pay another $5! My mum goes over to speak to the attendent and she tells my mum she should have gotten out of the car and checked. A few minutes later I go over to talk and she asks me "if that lady spoke English and that she clearly told her everything". I'm always polite and understanding to service workers, but I have never been treated so rudely ever! She was there to answer customer's question not sit in the AC car and give flippant answers. I will not be using this service ever again. read more

Could have given it 4 stars, because I've ridden Megabus plenty of times before, always arriving on time to and from my destinations. The three stars is because of their reserved seat system is not guaranteed. If their buses are running late, which in this instance they were, someone else that has the same seat reserved is now sitting on your scheduled bus from the late or never arriving bus, and the bus driver nor the Megabus attendant want to solve the issue. Thankfully there was another empty reserved seat, but to have to go through the motions in getting the situation resolved from a seat you paid for is not the way to start the day. Another young lady experienced the same and was told she would have to put in for a refund. Megabus might want to put a disclaimer on their page "reserved seating not guaranteed". read more

This company is very disorganized and does not notify the passengers of any changes that will be made during the trip. A trip with megabus took about 5 hours that is usually a 3.5 hour drive. They do not notify you if the drivers need to change, and so you are delayed at least twenty minutes. And they add in stops without notifying you before you purchase your ticket. I wouldn't recommend megabus to anyone as a good means of transportation. read more
