Just wanted to update my post with the fact that Megabus refunded our money. Wow....wasn't expecting that. May roll the dice and try again someday. read more

It was just not good. The seats were uncomfortable and after a four hour drive it starts to hurt. The seats were also made out of like a leather material which I get wanting to keep things clean but you end up hurting even more from holding yourself up. The seat belts and outlets didn't work that well it was a full day of arm workouts just to get your seatbelt fastened but then you had to feed the excess of the seat belt back into where it's supposed to be. So I would not recommend this bus ever to anybody. read more

First time riding Megabus today, from NYC to Baltimore. Fare was inexpensive, less than $35, and it was easy to find the loading area. The folks at the loading area were helpful and courteous. Trip took about 3 hours - much more relaxing than driving myself. read more

This is the WORST transport I've ever experienced. Everytime I try to give it another shot, it disappoints once again. The first time I used Megabus, it broke down ON THE HIGHWAY, not on the side of the road IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. The driver said it's because "someone forgot to check his battery" before we left. On arrival, The Megabus attendant at the station was so rude and aggressive to a young girl walking nearby, I felt like reporting him to the police. The second time I took Megabus, it was over an HOUR late because they had to do a "driver switch" one hour into the trip. Of course the replacement driver was late showing up so it delayed us further. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $8-$9 on Boltbus. They are waaaay more efficient and professional. read more

If it wasn't for the fact that my sister who picks me up lives near White Marsh, I would never take Megabus. It's always more expensive than greyhound, you have to wait outside, the wifi never works, and the customer service is terrible. Changing a reservation really shouldn't be hard but somehow it is for Megabus. You would think since nothing else about this company is better than Greyhound, they would at least have good customer service. The actual bus is fine though, and is the only reason I give it even 2 stars. read more

Definitely skeptical, from reading reviews, but heard personally from others that Megabus was good, so we gave it a try. White Marsh, MD to NYC. Left Saturday at 8am - there was no parking, but they instructed us where to park and that we'd be fine, as long as we were back before the workday. Left at exactly 8am and arrived at our destination on schedule, at 11:20am. Pleasantly surprised. Wifi worked; little spotty and slow sometimes, but wasn't a huge concern. Both journeys - we were lucky enough to apparently travel with nice, courteous passengers. No one was loud, obnoxious -- nothing. Also, the bus on both legs of the trip were clean. Return trip on Monday morning left 10 minutes late; we made one stop, I guess because this bus was continuing onto DC, so we arrived about 20 minutes past schedule. I've arrived 4 hours late from flying, and an hour late from the train - so no complaints here. In NYC, your drop off and pick up places are different - but well marked and the employees were there to guide you to the correct line. Overall, our experience was a pleasant surprise, considering the experiences others had. We would definitely use this again. read more

Both bus rides from Baltimore to New York City and back were a great value. The bus left exactly on time and arrived on time. It was comfortable, with free wifi and an electrical outlet for each seat. The boarding process was handled in a very orderly manner. The waiting area was well marked so that a line could form for the bus without confusion. The staff were polite. And, the nice thing was that everyone was guiet on the trip, so you could read or rest without disturbance. That is not under the control of Megabus of course, but it was nice to experience. read more

I've taken Megabus from Baltimore (White Marsh) to NYC twice with no problems. It's punctual, comfortable, and extremely affordable. The most recent trip on 3/20/14, we had the nicest driver imaginable. She made a clear and helpful announcement at the start of the trip, took us to a nice rest stop about 1/2 through with clean bathrooms and plenty of food choices, gave us 15 minutes there which was plenty, and got us in to NYC on time. The bus leaves and arrives on time. Other customers are curteous and quiet. I always worry about finding parking at White Marsh, but I was fine both times. Was not able to use the wifi but didn't really need it. Was able to charge my phone, which was great. Its true, there is no shelter at the pick up points in Baltimore or NYC. It is true you need to be there at least 15 min early (more if you want a good seat). Don't sit too near the bathroom (bottom level, back of the bus) if the occastional bathroom smell will bother you. You really can't beat the price (I got to NYC for $23 round trip), and for what you're paying I'd say the experience more than meets my expectations. Hassle-free, nice staff, what more could I ask? read more

Seriously, people giving Megabus one star need to remember YOU'RE TAKING A BUS. Seriously, bargain transportation isn't going to get any better than this. Don't believe me? Go take yourself a ride on an MTA bus, or head up to New York on a Chinese bus. Hope the wheels don't fall off. Seriously though, the Megabus has you wait outside, but that means cheaper fairs, and they run late sometimes, but remember, they're traveling on a little road a few people might have heard about called I-95. Get a grip, complainers. The Megabus is a steal. Parking is free and fairly safe at the White Marsh lot, and that's also a location that gets them right onto I-95 and out of Baltimore fast. read more

Megabus is awful. They don't care about the passengers and they're extremely rude. Go with another service, at least you'll get to where you need to be on time. read more

Last week I was scheduled to leave for my trip to NY at 10:10 AM. I arrived at the station at about 9:50AM and got in line. The line seemed a little long but I thought nothing of it until another rider mentioned that the bus 9:15 bus had been delayed. At approximately 10:30, a bus showed up. The driver stepped out but did not communicate to any of the passengers in the line what was going on. He then drove off. Because I was concerned about the status of my trip I then contacted the 1-800 number for Megabus. The representative on the line was unaware of the situation unapologetic and showed no initiative in trying to rectify the problem. They told me they would contact their manager and that their manager would contact me with a solution. It's been a week since and I have heard nothing from Megabus. I'm completely disgusted and dissatisfied with the level of customer service that was shown. This is not how you treat patrons, I will never again ride Megabus and certainly will not recommend it to even my worst enemy. read more

Why is this bus stop so far from the city? And why can't I get on the bus when the bus is half-empty? So messed up. Looks like I'm sleeping at the mall tonight. read more

I've taken the megabus consistently for years. Their bus schedule has improved as far as I have experienced. However, my view is biased since I am also more aware of avoiding rush hours like Fri evening. I am disappointed at the prices tho... the 1$ catch worked for quite some time, but now tickets are 3-4X more. I think that is a rip off. I don't appreciate such an exponential growth in price with no significant betterment of the services provided. For someone who travels often as I do I'd advise exploring other deals. For a one time trip its would be ok considering the convenience of free parking. read more

I have not been impressed with my last two trips on Megabus from New York to Union Station in DC. While the price is fine and the drivers have been good, the wifi doesn't work and the outlet plugs don't work so not only can't you get wifi for your ipad you can't charge anything that does work, such as your phone. read more

Going to Baltimore from New York City, bus driver never made an announcement that the bus was at Baltimore station. I had to wait a whole hour for the next stop which was in Washington DC before he could let me out. I asked to exit before he entered the highway and he refused to let me off. The sound system on this bus does not work and I was on the upper level. I asked to be put off at a rest stop, at the tolls, on the side of the road. I called all numbers associated with this bus company and no one can do anything. This is my first and last time. I am so upset right now. My family member had to drive behind the bus for the entire trip bet Baltimore and Washington DC just to get me. The bus drivers response to all of this was o well I said the stop, you have to take a bus back. .. Never again! read more

I have been in a love-hate relationship with Megabus since 12/12/2008 when we first met... We've had our ups: -Getting to NYC remarkably quickly for a bus -Being dropped off right in Midtown -Scoring the elusive $1 fare! (more than once!) -Having a relatively comfortable ride -Wi-fi was handy and bathrooms were clean (by bus standards) -Getting VERY last minute tickets in a pinch -Great range of ticket times to choose from. -Safe (though crowded usually) FREE parking lot HOWEVER, we've also had our downs: -Once our driver actually got lost! Eek! -Bus has broken down on the 5am trip back home (these things can happen though) -Bus being late is a serious let down...Especially when is is over an hour late! -Does the Philly bus ever even come?! (both times I tried to take it, it was either extremely late -enough for my trip not to be worth it, or it never came!) -THE NEW DEPARTURE STOP IN NYC SUCKS! If you know New York, you know that 34th between 11th and 12th feels like no man's land compared to the rest of the city... The previous departure stops were all much better (closer to central Manhattan, with more places around where you can duck in and have a coffee if the bus is late). But at the end of the day, despite my issuse, I always come back to Mega. They are just too damn convenient!! MUCH cheaper than Amtrak and Greyhound, better time options and parking facilities than Bolt, less grimey than the "China"/AA/Apex buses.. So, until a better option exists.... Megabus is the bus for me... *sigh* read more

I booked a trip with Megabus for myself and my 9 year old daughter from White Marsh Maryland to New York City, leaving September 14th at 8:10 AM for New York arrival at 11:30 AM. I was unsatisfied with the service I received from your company. At approximately 10:30 AM on September 14th, the Megabus pulled into the Grover Cleveland rest stop in New Jersey. The driver departed the bus and did not come back. We had no communication from the driver or your company on the status of our trip. After approximately 30 minutes of sitting on the bus with no air conditioning, we departed the bus to seek information. We found the driver sitting by the luggage area. When I inquired as to the status of our trip, the driver indicated that the bus was not operational and he had no idea when another bus would arrive (perhaps in an hour but may be longer). He was not helpful. As we had an important event in New York that afternoon, we were forced to share a Lyft into the city with another couple on the bus, Mr. & Mrs. Smith. The cost of my share of the Lyft was $40.00. We arrived in New York 2 hours late and missed half of our important event. I contacted Megabus immediately on September 14th to complain about my experience. After being repeatedly told that I had to submit my concerns via email or "online", I repeatedly requested to speak with a Supervisor. I was eventually connected to a Supervisor (her name may have been Michelle), who refused to respond to my questions. There was no apology for the inconvenience and she was rude and unprofessional. My daughter was traumatized by the days events. I requested a refund for my return bus trip on Sunday, September 15th. Your representative hung up on me. With no other option available, I was forced to rent a car to drive home to Maryland on September 15th. I am most annoyed that I wasted money and time booking a trip with your company. I did not receive the service that I paid for, and did not arrive in New York at 11:30 AM on September 14th due to mechanical issues with your bus. In addition, the poor customer service your company provided resulted in my spending additional money for my trip. My impression of Megabus has been tarnished. I trust this is not the way Megabus wishes to conduct business with valued customers, especially those travelling with children. I have never encountered such treatment before. Be advised, this company refuses to offer the appropriate reimbursement for their poor service. I requested reimbursement of $40.00 paid for the Lyft from Grover Cleveland Rest Area in New Jersey to New York City on September 14th, and a full refund of $62.98 for my September 15th unused Megabus tickets from New York to White Marsh in Maryland. The total refund I am requesting is $102.98. I was contacted via email by Yvonne in Customer Service. I was offered to 3 discount codes (that cannot be combined) for the value of my one way ticket on Megabus for my September 14th travel. This is unacceptable. I will not utilize these services again let alone for 3 more trips. Save yourself the trouble and seek other transportation!!! read more

I have travelled by Mega Bus at least 100 times from Baltimore to NY. Yesterday I had a ticket for 1.50am . My brother and I were at the bus stop in White Marsh at 1.30 am. There were at least 5 other passengers waiting. We waited till 3am and bus never showed up. When I called customer service I was told that bus was there 1.55am and basically occused of being a liar. No one apologized, but instead they hung up on me. I will never travel by Mega bus again and will make sure that everyone knows about this incident. read more

Mixed feelings on Megabus...took it from White Marsh to NYC and back. Bus was on time and departed promptly both ways. Interior of the bus was neat and clean. Reps were helpful and efficient. On the return trip (oct 20th) the driver insisted on blasting the a/c the entire time. People bundled up the best they could. We asked him to turn it off but he refused saying the people downstairs were hot (they all had sweaters on too.) As evidence, I had a sandwich in my backpack (which I used to keep my legs warm) that I was too cold to eat-when I took it out during the car ride home, it was ice cold to the touch... read more

I wish I could give this less than one star. I am writing this while we are stranded in Baltimore, a location we were not even scheduled to travel to when traveling from NYC to DC. When asked what the problem was and why we are stopped for so long the driver replied "I ran out of time and I am waiting on my replacement driver." I have never seen something so Unprofessional and this is truly the last time I will ever use this company. It's not even worth the very cheap price. read more

I will never ever take Megabus again. I had to cancel a trip back in 2019 and I was given redemption codes to be used by June 2020. Due to the sudden happening of Covid-19, they first denied an extension to use those codes. After I had complained, they gave me new redemption codes good through March 2021, however, I am no longer able to use all 3 codes at once, only one code per reservation. I was able to use all 3 at once before. I contacted Megabus and they wouldn't do anything about it, I even talked to the supervisor, who by the way treated me horribly, and she wouldn't explain why I am not able to use the 3 codes at once anymore. All she said was that that was how the code was generated. Clever tactic to steal my money and to make me spend more money. I will no longer recommend Megabus nor take it from now on. And to the supervisor to talked to me that way, you should step down and give your position to someone who will treat their customers in a respectful way. I was nothing but respectful with my choice of words and tone. read more

If I could give them negative stars I would. First of all they have the most ridiculous rules. They can keep you in line for 3 hrs past departure time with no communication but if you try and call an hour before departure to move a trip you clearly can not make and you didn't know this three hours before, well that's unheard of and they will hang up on you or refuse to give you full names like supervisor Marie. I been switching between Amtrak and them for my travel needs but their unwillingness to work with me had me convinced to never use Megabus or refer them to anyone ever again. If I were you I would use greyhound or even the Chinatown buses before Megabus. read more

On 9/28/2016 their page online looked normal from my laptop and cell phone. Nothing was working on the page. I called the number at 877 462 6342. They answered immediately which was impressive. They said the site is being fixed. I recommended that they put up a notice when the site is not working right. The support agent said it would be too mucj trouble for them and to try again in 30 to 60 minutes. They dont have a way to track arrival times of their fleet. They dont care to let users know when there site is down. When things go well Megabus is great, but usually something is having difficulty and they dont care. read more

Took Megabus to NYC with my daughter as an inexpensive option to train or plane. On the whole, it was ok. Arrived in record time both coming and going. Bathrooms were gross (and I'm a dude, so that's saying something). But wifi was spotty and unreliable. Will look for an alternative next time. read more

0 stars!!!!I am writing this review from the middle of nowhere..!!!After freezing off for more then 3 hours because of improperly functioning AC Megabus NY-DC broke down! The driver just stopped and got out, without announcing anything. Waiting for another bus to come and pick us up for more then 3 hours...4 AM...Finally the next bus from NY-DC arrived to rescue!!! But: 1) there was no space for everybody, 2) as soon as we got in they said we need to get out because the driver's shift is over so the bus can not move anywhere!!!!Whaaaaaat???????4 AM!!!!50 people out there freezing and the driver's shift is over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Horrible management, incompetent drivers, the most irresponsible bus service I ever seen!!!Never ever ever again!!!Shut it down!!!!This kind of service and business can't exist!!Not safe!!!!Not safe!!!! read more

Horrible trip. Bus was 30 minutes late. 2 hours into the trip the driver had to leave. Stuck at a rest stop in New Jersey for an hour and a half. Waiting on a new driver. Will never be riding a Megabus again. read more

If you need to be somewhere on time, do not take this bus. They are almost always delayed for no apparent reason and never tell you so.

I am traveling to NYC with my wife and two sons and we only found seats scattered over the bus which was late. What we were not told until the driver would not let us off of the crowded bus (he actually closed the doors on us) was there was another empty bus that just pulled in behind us. GREAT customer service these people do not have. Find another company. read more

Our bus from New York City to Baltimore never showed up. My wife and I had to wait 1 1/2 hours in the freezing cold for another bus, as winds blew off the Hudson River. During this time, multiple, 1/2-filled buses departed to Philadelphia and Boston. Any one of these could have been diverted for the large crowd waiting for Baltimore/Washington transport, but management and staff were totally unresponsive to our plight. I have complained to Megabus and received a totally inadequate response. Megabus -- NEVER AGAIN! read more

The Megabus is probably the worst form of transportation available. People are outside in the cold standing in line. The bus is over two hours late. There is snow and sleet. The Megabus employees are in a van keeping warm. There is no one to provide us with an update. I will pay more to ride a more legitimate form of transportation next time. read more

Do not use Megabus!!! Awful ride, uncomfortable, no toilet paper in bathroom for a 4.5 hour trip to NY from Annapolis! Ride home was worse, driver was all over the road, barely went over 40mph the entire way from NY back to Annapolis. And when he did speed up, he was pushing cars off the road. Listening to inappropriate music as well- I guess to keep him awake??? And they say there is WiFi but it didn't work up or back from NY. So no movies no WiFi. Took over 5 hours to get home. Was supposed to be home at 10:50 at night and it was 11:40pm!!! Never again!! I had my two kids with me and the entire ride home was stressful! read more

I have been riding with MegaBus for some time now and the only great thing is their customer service and prices. But the ticket policy is a reason for a bad review and only 2 stars. I recently missed my bus and couldn't book another due to it already being 11pm at night so I contacted customer service and was told "the time and date of the ticket is your ticket and no refund available". After explaining the situation (which was pointless), I had to immediately booked with another bus line to get my ass home and I did so with Peter Pan and now arriving at my destination. As I looked up other bus lines including Peter Pan and OurBus, they work with their customers as far as crediting accounts immediately and will offer refunds on a case-by-case situation. They even have staff to work with you face-to-face that can handle the issues and concerns. MegaBus have done with me with on this one and ILL NEVER RIDE until i get a reply back. read more

Flat out terrible in every way: terrible customer service, the wifi never works (yet megabus keeps advertising their service as Free Wifi), the seats are uncomfortable and cramped. My first time using mega bus. Great easy web based ticketing. Not so easy instructions on where to park etc. The bus that came at 5:35 displaying the banner to Philly was not our bus and asking the viciously rude driver didn't help. Our bus was more than an hour late. The only way to find this out is to call the company. The people waiting for the 6:30 bus were just told to wait and that they couldn't get on the 5:35 bus that came at 6:35. It is cheap and you get what you pay for. read more

Never again. We were supposed to catch the 1:30AM bus, which for some reason departs from the White Marsh Plaza. We spent $45 on a cab to get out there just for a bus that never showed. We gave up around 2:15 and caught another one. They stop running the phone service after 1AM, so we couldn't find out when the bus was coming. We ended up on a 3AM bus, which apparently that bus was running late which is how we were able to catch it. Unless you want to hang out in a creepy parking lot at night and wait for a bus that will get there when it gets there, don't bother. Stay the night somewhere and go back the next day, leave earlier, don't go to Baltimore. Anything to avoid this stupid stop. read more
