One thing you have to try in Canada is poutine. It's what they are known for. I've had it at home but you have to try it from this place. Showed up in the middle of the night 9 pm and a nice lady put my philly cheese poutine together. Very flavorful and I'm sold. I will only have poutine in Canada. I will not be lied to again in the US. The cheese, fries, gravy all comes together in this dish. The only regret I made was I took it back home so it was a wee bit soggy, but it was still darn good. I love this place. Yeah, they're straight up frozen Costco fries, but I love the batter on them because they get really crispy. It's tasty and filling comfort food that's reasonably priced. I would give it 5 stars but the service is hit or miss. It's great when you get one of the owners (older couple), but if you get one of the young ladies you get attitude and cold fries. One girl in particular would always have already cooked fries which were cold when you got them, and if you complained she would say, "Well it's cold outside!" Uhh, no, you just left them sitting and they got cold. Or she would re-cook them and you get burned gross fries. I've learned to politely ask if I can get freshly cooked fries if she serves me, and let her know I don't mind waiting. She will give you attitude about it but at least she will do it. read more

The food was decent, but the service was terrible. We had a order of 15 items in two separate orders. I understood they work in a small area, we ordered A LOT, and there are only two workers running place, but patience can only go so far. They didn't write down our orders or our names that they asked for. Each time they gave us an item they just stared at us and ask "you're done right?". We had to constantly remind them what orders we still needed. When we asked for boxes and bags, they had to question us saying like (to my brother) "he is a big guy he can eat it right here and now". It didn't help that constantly argued with each other while cooking our food. I'd say we waited for no longer than 30-45 minutes. My fiancee was super excited to eat here and I wanted to try some poutine in Canada and after initial approval from both of us, our experience quickly went south. My fiancee ordered the Zen Dog and the Chili Cheese Dog in hopes of getting a better hot dog than the one at Javier's in Seattle. This was our first stop in Vancouver! Recommended by our hotel. Anyways, the food is decently priced for how much you get. Around $10-15 for poutine and $6-13 for a hotdog. I got the Southwestern poutine. I recommend it 100%. My friends got the fried chicken poutine. Maybe because we're American we expected actual fried chicken? Not the weird buffalo baked chicken provided. Anyways, it tasted alright. Glad I got the delicious southwestern. Lady is kind of unfriendly. But food was freshly prepared. (fries freshly cooked and crispy, topping are pre-made and set up in containers for heat.) All covered and sanitary looking. It is a walk up with NO seating. Okay I have gone back a few times after my initial review. The fries themselves still reign supreme over Fritz and other poutineries. One time I tried a friend chicken poutine, and it was delicious! However since the gravy is still on the salty side, I wasn't able to finish the whole thing. As mentioned before, ask for a little less gravy, it goes a long way. Another note, I have walked past here several times during the late morning hours, afternoon, evening, and late night...and it seems like the same guy is still working! Does he ever get tired? Haha. It was basically fries, cheese curds, gravy, and fried chicken on top. I really enjoyed it as it was something different that my palate was not use to. I've had all types of fries before but never really with gravy and cheese curds. The cheese was super stringy and cheesy. Overall, I enjoyed it a lot as it was a good quick snack to have. Now I don't know any better since I haven't tried it before, but I thought it was damn good! The fries were actually pretty crispy and there was a good ratio of gravy to fries. The cheese curds became a little melty due to the heat. Is that supposed to happen? I don't know.
