It was my go to spot for some warm poutine after a night of drinking. They are located on Granville street, right where all the bars and clubs are. It is a grab and go spot, don't have seating area. I kept it simple and just got their classic poutine but holy moly it was so good!! I don't know what they do to make it so delicious. The fries were super crispy yet thick, there was enough gravy on everything so that it perfectly melted the cheese. For some reason, their gravy does not make the fries soggy. We had just arrived in Vancouver from Seattle and needed to find poutine. This little shop was just opening up, so we were first in line. The fries were hot and freshly cut and fried just for us. The gravy was the perfect blend of salty and savory and meaty. The cheese wasn't quit melted when we got our food, but after a couple of minutes it was stringy. There was enough cheese so that each bite of fires had some cheese to go with it. You've got to be looking for this little shop or else you'll miss it. It's located right on the main street, but doesn't have a traditional restaurant feel. They have a window you order from and then you wait on the sidewalk for your food to be ready. If you plan to eat on the sidewalk, they have a ledge (no seating) for you to set your food on while you eat. Maybe don't look at the menu online before you show up- they were sold out of quite a few major items when we were there (anything having hotdogs or mac n cheese and some other items I cant remember). This is by far the best poutine I have ever had, including poutine places in Montreal and Toronto. I think the key is that the fries are fried fresh on the spot, and they are judicious with their gravy so that the fries aren't soggy or smothered in sauce and thus overpowered. We got the mean supreme ($10), which includes brown gravy, cheese curds, beef, bacon, sautéed mushrooms, and grilled onions and peppers, and a healthy sprinkling of green onions on top that added freshness and crunch. The meat was savory and cooked well and the toppings were plentiful. Only downside is that it is basically a food truck so no seating and you have to find a place nearby to eat your poutine while the fries are still hot and crispy! read more
