I recently stopped here for a lunch after few years. The size of this restaurant has gotten smaller than before. Kitchen has gotten smaller too, but food hasn't changed much. I got Butter Chicken feast for $14.99 it came in a big bowl with salads. Food didn't take long to arrive. It was freshly made with soft rice with big tender pieces of chicken. Sauce was so tasty and dreamy! Food was too big for me so I packed half portion home for work lunch. Staff were so helpful she offered me a bag and a takeout box. It was still delish even after few days have passed. I gotta go back next time when I'm within this vicinity.

We had just finished our yoga class across the street and were looking for a place to grab a quick bite. Caveman Cafe was pretty empty so we decided to go there. They had a lot of pastries and cold sandwiches to go as well as a mediterranean brunch/lunch menu. The space is pretty big and our servers were very friendly! Best part about this cafe was their pricing, we got their shakshuka brunch for $12.99!! Their risotto meal was $9.99! It is very difficult to find such good brunch pricing given the portion size. Their food was subpar overall. I really liked their shakshuka and empress kabobs which came with rice, grilled tomato, and pickled onions. Their risotto was rather bland and their mocha iced coffee felt like water. I think their mediterranean food is pretty good in general! Service was good overall, pretty fast! I would come here again to try some of their other mediterranean menu options :)

Caveman Cafe used to be a go-to for me when I was hunting for a cheap eat in my (even) younger days. The portions are great, but it's really the quality of the meat that kept me coming back. Quite literally every meat looks fantastic and juicy, and they just disintegrate in your mouth, in the best possible way. I love the veggies and rice they use in their burritos (my order of choice). I have no preference of protein here -- I've had them all and they're all good for different moods.

Keto Caveman Bakery specializes in keto, paleo and vegan dishes. They're located right outside the International Village Mall (next to the McDonalds) and have two other locations (Vegan Cave and Keto Caveman Cafe). The inside is small with a couple tables and booths but you walk up to the counter to order and pay. The menu consists of burrito/burger/sandwiches, pizza, soups/salads/platters and pasta/plates. They have a large selection of keto and gluten free baked goods and carry several flavours of Tality Kombucha. Big jump in price though (the old location had entrees starting at $10.39). Trip #1 We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon (around 2:30pm) and it wasn't too busy. - Lamburgini - we upgraded to the cassava ($2.00). We opted for the sauce, which was tasty, but made the cassava very soft. Patty had a good texture. - Vegan lasagna ($14.99) - good flavour but the portion isn't the most filling. In a nutshell, it's a vegetarian lasagna without any carbs. Trip #2 We dropped in on a Thursday evening (around 9:45pm). - Beef burrito ($7.99) - this was one of their limited time offers. B upgraded to a gluten free wrap ($2.00 extra) and went with the avocado sauce. Burrito is stuffed with rice, shredded beef, bell peppers, tomato, cucumber, red onion and lettuce. The meat really needed more sauce. There's not much flavour going on but it tastes healthy. - Traditional platter ($12.99) - I opted for the roasted jalapeño garlic sauce which added a nice kick. Couldn't tell the difference between the spiced rice; tasted like normal rice to me. The dollop of hummus was a nice touch. Salad was healthy but plain. Lamb patties were decent but not gamey enough. If you're looking for healthy, alternative options, KCB will do.

Went out for sushi dinner and decided to grab some desserts from caveman cafe which was just across the street. Man on the counter was so grumpy! Maybe he was having a difficult day but no smile or even eye contact! We decided to go for chocolate cake and matcha cake and then in 2 mins also decided to add tiramisu to our order to go. He wasn't happy with the last minute addition and asked us "are you sure that will be all" ummmm sorry for being confused and greedy when I'm surrounded by such yummy looking deserts! Coming to the taste test, the tiramisu was amazing. Matcha cake was good and the chocolate cake was strictly okay. We were ofcourse not expecting sweet baked goods but the chocolate cake was so dense that we didn't enjoy it. Food: 3/5 Ambiance:3/5 Service:2.5/5 Overall: 3/5

I've been kind of curious about this place for a while, finally tried it and it left a very good impression on me. At first, I thought it was just a keto restaurant, but there are also non-keto options and plenty of choices for vegan and GF diets. I don't follow any of these diets, but the person taking my order made sure that I was aware of everything in my order in case I needed to know. He was super friendly! I went back and forth on whether I wanted hummus in my platter and apologized for being indecisive, and he just laughed it off with me. I had a Tandoori Jackfruit Feast Platter. The feast platters are very customizable: you can choose your protein, sauces, type of rice (basmati or cauliflower), the veggies you want in your salad, and if you want to add any hummus and/or tzatziki dip. I was super happy with the platter I built! The tandoori sauce was as flavourful as I hoped for (and pretty spicy, but that might've just been the jalapeños I added) and the cooling tzatziki went really well with it. It was also very filling! For dessert, I tried the Keto New York Cheesecake. Mixed experience with this. The cheesecake had a very light texture similar to some no-bake cheesecakes, but with the full-bodied tangy flavour of a baked cheesecake, and I really liked how unique it was. But I think it was frozen in the middle and the biscuit crust was a little dry in a freezer-burnt way. There was a dollop of what looked like whipped cream on top but tasted like and had the thickness of butter, which I had to discard because it was too rich for me and didn't have any flavour to contribute. I asked about decaf coffee/espresso when I ordered, and they don't carry it, but tea was suggested as an alternative, so I ordered a green tea. The bag wasn't labelled but it tasted like a sencha which is one of my favourites. Order and pay at the counter and the food is brought to your table. Space is a little tight in the cafe but it's kind of cozy and I found the atmosphere to be welcoming.

Wow. Wish I lived closer. I'm not strictly keto but I've been aiming for a low sugar, low carb diet for a few years. Of course, the meat and seafood options are lovely but I really miss breads and pastries. When we drove past Keto Caveman Cafe & Bakery I couldn't believe me eyes! I started with a delicious brownie (even better when heated up a few seconds) and ended up bringing home a cooler full of cakes and brownies. Can this be real or is it like that Seinfeld episode about the nonfat frozen yogurt?

Ghetto looking (hipsterlike) but seriously delicious restaurant inside Tinseltown, next to McDonald's. Parking is available in the lot below the mall. This restaurant has the distinction of catering to both vegan and keto people. They even have paleo and gluten-free stuff. There really is something for everyone here. Staff were friendly and helpful. The food portions here are HUGE. I had the beef cheek platter feast ($11). Contains all food groups (if desired, as toppings are included but optional), and they didn't skimp out. The beef cheek was like moist pulled pork. I had basically loaded up on toppings when ordering, and all of the toppings made for one really delicious mix. The owner (I assume it's her) was even kind enough to give me a free cup of kombucha on the house to try. She recommended the ginger blast. She was not wrong. This drink really hit the spot. Super refreshing. Tangy but not too gingery, and best of all, not bitter. I will definitely be back, multiple times. We have a new winner. Recommended.

While on a down day, decided to go for a movie and dinner near downtown Vancouver. The movie did not happen, but stumbled upon this neat little quick service restaurant near the theatre. While not hungry a lot, we all decided to do a takeout. The menu consists of meat, paleo, vegan, gluten free and god what else (amazing) options. Ordered a pizza, a burrito, a chill, a lasagna. Zoodles and some dessert bars. The pizza was the most disappointing as the crust was a downer. The burrito, huge and filled to the brim. The extra hot sauce was mind blowing my hot. The vegan cheese a very good option in it. The lasagna was good. The zoodles is something we make it a lot, however this was different and good. Had so much fun eating and trying different stuff. Reasonably priced as well. Would definitely stop by the next time I am in DT Vancouver.

You have GOT to try this place! Don't let the decor scare you away because it definitely does not do the food justice! There's flower decor, dangling lights and couches and it might feel like you're walking into grandma's fairy tale fantasy but you've got to try the food. I got the lamb burger and true to their name, you can alter your order accordingly with your diet (ie. I got dairy free cheese). It's really great to see that there's actually something for everyone no matter the diet you're on! Perhaps it was due to the fact that this place is listed as vegetarian but felt like the burger patty itself could have used a little more seasoning; the bun got very soggy and I had to flip it around to balance out the wetness but the filings in the sandwich were on point! I don't rave about restaurants much after one experience and if I had a choice, my go-to carb is pasta and not breads but this place was so good that I couldn't stop telling my coworkers about it the next day. Would definitely love to come back to try the other menu items and for a downtown location to have such generous pricing, I think it's a no brainer for the taste buds and the wallet.

I've always wanted to try this local. My roommates have always raves about it and I have never been able to make the decision to go in and give it a go. What do ya do on a Friday night? Go an explore a new place to eat because life is too short to be eating at the same place all the time! are you on a special type of diet or do you have dietary requirements which means you can't eat a whole lot of types of foods, well what can I tell you... you've stopped at the perfect place to resolve your glorious challenging food needs. I for one definitely appreciated the ease of being able to order yummy delicious food which fit into what I was looking for and it's not just healthy but tasty! I ordered the beef cheek monster burrito... needless to say it was a feat to eat it. The beef cheek was so soft and well braised and think about all that protein you are getting in your body! Wowza. Highly recommend it if your wanting that perfect balance between health and tastiness!

There was only one family ahead of me when I entered, who was asking questions about bean recommendations. The person at the order counter was really helpful providing them with good information. When it was my turn to order, it was quick since I had already selected beans that I wanted to purchase, and my oat latte. Option was asked if I wanted to dine in or takeout, and I went with the latter. After I got my drink, I took a seat on one of the benches they have outside the store. There's also a decent amount of indoor seating and an outdoor patio section in front of the store. Not my first time trying Nemesis since I've been to Vancouver before, but definitely a reminder of why they are listed as one of the World's 100 Best Coffee Shops. If I wasn't so full from brunch, I would have also gotten one of their pastries. Seeing them all was very tempting.

My mom was asked to get up and wait in line, while another party was allowed to sit. It was embarrassing and poorly handled. When I pointed out the long wait, the response was essentially that they have "the best coffee in Vancouver". That kind of attitude only works if the coffee is actually exceptional -- and it wasn't. It was below average and not worth the wait or the attitude. Very overhyped. Nice-looking space, weak service, average coffee. Kafka next door is a better option for coffee and cookie.

The bartender couldn't even keep up with our drinks. Anyways other than the above. The event was a great event. I got the opportunity to try all four of their mocktails: - Blueberry Basil Lemonade - Mango Lavender Lemonade - Minty-Berry Sour - Pear Lavender Sour All their drinks were very fancy prepared and my favorite are the Minty-Berry Sour and the Blueberry Basil Lemonade. I also found that there is some inconsistency in the glass they serve it out of. The food was delicious as mentioned before. My favorite out of their finger foods were the grill cheese brisket. OMG that was really good. The other memorable items are the porkbelly and fried chicken. I think the fried chicken is one of their popular items on the menu served during brunch. The cheesecake at the end I got was very soft but flavorful. The cheeseburger slider was really good too. Overall I really enjoyed the food. The atmosphere and decor of the place was nice. The restaurant is very small. Because we were over 100 people, there was a wait for the 3 stalls in the bathroom. There was not enough tables and chairs for everyone to sit. I think the restaurant can comfortably maybe accommodate around 40 or 50 guests max. I will definitely be back again someday to try their brunch menu.
