Went with my colleagues for a quick lunch. The menu was self explanatory it has a variety of food, but I found it strange that some of us received our food right away and others had to wait. The soup and sandwiches took long to arrive. I got the Thai rice bowl with chicken. I found it to be flavorful, but a little watery. The protein to ratio wasn't great. I ate all the chicken and only a quarter of everything else. I wasn't impressed! read more

I discovered this place by chance during a walk. The menu was enticing for its light and healthy offerings. This location (there are a few) is in a white, airy building lobby, up a few stairs (I couldn't see a ramp for wheelchair/stroller access). You can see all of the lovely food displayed as you order the components of your meal. I got a Nourishing Bowl which had greens, brown rice and a choice of two sides, of which I tried beet salad and grilled Brussels sprouts. You can also add a protein, and I chose tofu. The spouse got a turkey chili which came with grilled bread. All of the food was fresh, delicious and fast. Service is helpful and polite as they compose and ring up your order. This is a great fast casual concept! read more

Highly recommend Tractor for a healthier lunch option! They have a good variety of pre-made salads and they all have real, nutritious ingredients. It's quick counter service but is fresh and tasty. The lemon kale salad is my go-to and they also do grilled avocado as an add on, which is really good and not common to see on a menu! Great for takeout but also a nice lunch spot to eat in. #ContestEntry read more

Perfect for what I needed. Some sustenance. I started my travels at 1am pacific time and finally dropped luggage at the hotel desk at 12:30. I wanted something quick, semi-healthy and tasty. This power bowl with brown rice, kimchi, tuna, greens abs some beans hit the spot. Just what I needed and it was pretty and fast too. read more

After wandering around the city trying to find vegan breakfast to no avail (long lines for one diner and sad or non-existent options everywhere else), we came here. There are several baked goods that are vegan and clearly labeled. We were looking for a more substantial, hot breakfast. They had avocado toast. You get two pieces of hot delicious homemade bread with avo, arugula, and seeds. Yum! We ordered a vegan breakfast wrap (curried tofu, sweet potatoes, greens, and black beans). Lastly, we ordered the blueberry parfait with chia and coconut yogurt. We split everything and it was so delicious. Prices are excellent too. Toast was $7, parfait $5, wrap $6. Food was so good and gobbled up before photos could be taken. UPDATE: came back the next day for more breakfast goodies and added photos. read more

Stopped in here for the first time after a flight. Everything on the menu looked so good, it was hard to choose! The guy behind the counter was SO nice and offered to make food suggestions. I ended up with a nourish bowl with curried cauliflower, lemon kale and roasted chicken. It was DELICIOUS! And the portion was very generous. The place itself is modern, clean and classy. I'd eat here every day if I worked nearby. I would definitely eat here again. read more

Delicious food! I ordered the bowl with all greens, beet and pear side and whole tofu for protein.

Healthy and yummy! Like a healthier Chipotle. The differentiation of "sides"and "market sides" was not clear, and the menu at the entrance only showed "sides". This made our order process very confusing. It took 4, 5 tries to come to mutual understanding with the staff and to get our orders right. But next time this won't be an issue. Chicken was colder than expected, but the entire bowl was flavourful. read more

Visited: June 27, 2019 My colleagues and I wanted to grab a quick bite for lunch. We were looking for something healthy/clean tasting but also a place where we can sit down and chat. We came here at around 11:30am on a weekday and we definitely beat the lunch crowd! It's a quick service restaurant; where you order, pay and collect your food at the same time. I decided to order the short rib bowl (around $14) and I was given a choice of either brown rice or mixed greens. The server recommended that I should do 1/2 rice and mixed green and I went with that. I also get to choose 2 sides and I decided on the curried cauliflower and kale salad. Lastly, they scooped the already prepared short rib from a giant pot (with ample tomato sauce) on top of the bowl. There's a self serve water station on the side, along with cutlery and bottles of chipotle (?) hot sauce if you want to add some heat to your food. (Note: the hot sauce is HOT IMHO, use sparingly ;) I dug into my bowl and I made sure I got a bite of everything. The beef was super tender and I just loved the sauce that got mixed into the salad and rice. It was delicious and made a very satisfying meal. Everything tasted clean and fresh, exactly what I was looking for. The bowl was so substantial that I had leftovers for another day. Will definitely come back here again next time. read more

I got the Turkey - Turkey thigh, smoked gouda, alfalfa sprouts, arugula, pesto aioli, house pickled cucumbers, sourdough bread. Have to say when I first unwrapped it, it was oily but I guess its from the smoked gouda. Well this is sure one very healthy sandwich. I personally liked it. Probably because it was the smoked gouda that made it taste good. the sourdough was a bit very chewy especially when it is the crust part. The sandwich did come nicely wrapped in a black colored paper. and kept wrapped by a sticker with the Tractor logo on it. Nice! read more

We were excited to see a place in Vancouver with healthy, affordable options we could go to for lunch. Sadly the food was just OK. Three of us got different items and most were pretty bland with no real flavor. The restaurant was also really dirty, from the kitchen area to the dining area. Kinda makes you worry about what you can't see. While its so nice to see a place with healthy options, it just wasn't all that great. read more

Food: amazing Ambiance: hip, modern, clean Price: for salad, it's too much, but in my opinion it's worth it. I am never disappointed by Tractor. It's slightly too expensive, but I don't care because all the market sides are so so tasty, their chicken is always moist and flavourful, and their lemonade is on point. This specific location doesn't have any handicap access, so my friend and I had to carry her stroller up the stairs. read more

Their opinions were so convincing i could not ignore them. I went had the Thai stew with prawns, Brussels sprouts/apricot/radicchio salad and the kale/quinoa/pomegranate salad, they were fresh, healthy and tasty. The guys working convinced me to try their cookie and i have to say it was the most delicious gluten free cookie I've tasted in a looooong time. Stopped by to try their breakfast today. It's an open, cafeteria-style place with no visible menu posted which is somewhat confusing for a newcomer. There was a sign listing the prices for adding bacon or avocado to a breakfast sandwich, however, so I ordered a breakfast sandwich with both. No idea what to expect! I took a seat and after a few minutes a server brought out the sandwich on a plate. A breakfast sandwich appears to be scrambled eggs, cheese, and arugula with some garlic (?) aioli, grilled on sourdough bread. It was tasty, good though not "omg wow" good. I was fairly unimpressed by the presentation and service, they are definitely trying to recreate "high school cafeteria" feel here and they succeed. Plate dumped directly onto table, arugula hanging off the sides to wipe over the table top, no napkins or cutlery offered (get your own from a side station, and if you forget to pick them up, you'll just have to go back). Still, it was a good sandwich, would eat there again if hungry and nearby, but probably wouldn't go out of my way to return. read more

Came here because of their impressive menu-- healthy options and in small portions! I don't have to order a $10 salad, I can get a small tub for $4. I was confused when their website says they open from 7-10 for breakfast, but they actually open at 11, so I had to come back. Decent place for lunch! Sandwiches little pricey at $9 each though. read more

Health food meets flavour mania at Tractor. This spot will quickly become your not-so guilty pleasure, with classics like avocado toast, muesli and fresh berry compote and Greek yogurt for breakfast, delectable sandwiches with just enough arugula to balance out the ooey-gooey cheese for lunch, and don't even get me started on their salad game.... So, among family members and lucky friends, I have become known as the salad chef extraordinaire. Don't get me wrong, I am no chef, I just always hook up the trimmings : the nuts, goat cheese, seeds or berries that distinguish a great salad from an average one. Tractor has matched my salad enthusiasm, with every salad so scrumptious you actually crave them more than a sandwich... And there's around 10 fresh made salads at all times. And they use seasonal local produce. And organic whenever feasible. Tractor, I love everything you do. Keep killing it. read more

If you like gourmet salad bars, this is it! So many choices, yes, you can get a salad anywhere/ make it yourself, but Tractor's salads are fairly complex and pretty good. From beet salads, kale, truffled mushroom salad ( which I got and was delicious!!), even a Kim Chi salad. I got the albacore tuna ( 2 or 4 oz) and that was very filling. The place is spacious and airy, I love the colors and gold geometric deigns . They also serve 49th parallel coffee for $2.50( yay!) , great place for a brunch/lunch! One of my FAV lunch spots, wether it's "to go" or "dine in". I can spend $3.50 or I can spend $16 on my meal, up to me all their market salads are delicious and for only $3.50 each you can easily make yourself a light meal of two and still spend under budget! I love to add a half grilled avocado to my meal, or a piece of albacore tuna. The options and combos are endless and everything is delicious! Whenever I feel like I need a yummy treat, but still want to stay healthy, tractor is the way to go. Everything is satiating and delicious! The lines go quick, and I really like that all the to go containers are compostable! They have everything, including beer and a full service coffee bar, to power bowls and homemade stews. I suggest trying the ditalini, mushroom and ricotta pasta salad, the curried cauliflower salad and the lemon kale... such a yummy place, I'm obsessed read more

Atmosphere: contemporary with plenty of tables and booths for seating. Clean. Grilled avocado with greens as a base and 2 mains (brussel sprouts and beets). $13 Service: attentive and knowledgeable on sourcing of ingredients. Washrooms: were clean well lit. I love this big space. We came for dinner and was told it totally fills up at lunch time. I studied here for a bit after dinner and loved the space and the vibe. There are even outlets. Overall: the food was undoubtedly flavorful. The citrus dressing was great. The cost however for basically a giant salad is a bit steep but worth it. If the cost was lowered it'd get 5 stars. read more

Was looking for a new healthy lunch place and decided to give this a whirl. Settled for one of their salads and added a grilled chicken breast. Total came to about $9.50. Was shocked when they handed me the bowl at the end and it was barely half full. The food was really tasty but I don't think the value corresponded to what you were getting. They should definitely invest in some smaller containers as I felt pretty wasteful carting this container out of the store. The service was very friendly and they do have a great selection of salads. Long lines, slow staff, overpriced food. No way, lots of better choices in Vancouver.

As much as I love the food here, particular the Kale-bean-cranberry salad and Wild Mushroom pasta salad, I am extremely disappointed and angry with the service. The highly restricted menu hours are so inflexible that even when the salads are clearly prepared and waiting to be served out, you cannot order them until precisely 11am. This is the finanacial business district downtown. People start work at 5 - 7am range. Do you think they want a 2nd breakfast at 10:35am? No, we want LUNCH. This inflexibility and piss-poor service is keeping me from returning as a paying customer. I need to use up my gift card and be done with this place. When your salads are clearly prepared and ready at 10:30am, SERVE THEM. ----- I had also ordered my meals over the phone a few weeks ago and sent an employee to pick them up for me, using my gift card. Upon first transaction, a gratuity was automatically added on to my bill. What's this all about? I've never encountered this before in my life! The charges were reversed and a new bill presented without the gratuity. Very odd and unsettling. read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. Lets start with the good. GRILLED AVOCADOS. I will forever thank Tractor for introducing me to this amazing treat. Life. Changed. $2.50 for a half? Pretty high, but I will continue to pay it due to its extreme deliciousness. I am part of the problem, not the solution. As far as everything else goes, it's pretty ok? 3 salads for $10... they have a lot of choices, some vegetarian, some vegan - which is lovely. The veggie sandwich is ok too but spendy for a half. The service has always been very kind and quick. I like what they are doing in theory - healthy fast food.... but the bang for my buck really doesn't seem to be happening. But the majority of the downtown core seems to disagree with me... if you hit this place at normie lunch hour, say good bye to a large portion of your life. And you will be late back to the office. And you will look like just another zombie in a long line of zombies deep into their phones. read more

Took two clients for lunch. Ordered soups and sandwiches. Seemed pretty simple but the cashier was so confused she missed multiple items. When I let her know what had been missed, she let me know it was my fault because I was talking too much to the other people I was with. Finally sat and waited for the food to arrive. When it came a soup was missing. Same cashier argued with me about whether I ordered the soup. Didn't offer to cover the missed drinks or soup. I asked for a Manager who turned out to be standing right there. When asked what he though, he agreed that our order had been "confusing" and didn't offer anything. The food itself is just OK. seafood chowder was essentially Campbell vegetable soup with some canned muscles thrown in. Chicken sandwich had obviously been made hours before as the lettuce had the consistency of creamed spinach. Can't comment on the lemonade as it never arrived. This place is aptly named as the food and experience made me feel like I had been dragged through the mud and served something from a highway diner. read more

This place has turned into my "go to" for lunch or dinner lately. I normally cook all my meals but life is getting a tad chaotic and i'm getting a bit lazy on that front. A coworker told me about the 3 salads for $10 and i was sold. I'm a salad junky. I know, it's weird. throw me some greens please! I've been back about 4 times in the past 2 weeks and have pretty much had the same thing...kale and apple + kimchi cabbage + beets or quinoa. love all of these. fresh and tasty and cooked well (read kale isn't a lumpy mess). today i subbed the last one for a broccoli asparagus. blech. no likey. but generally great salads. so why 3 stars you ask? the service. i feel like i am a thorn in the side of all service staff there. no smiles, no friendliness and today..for about 5 minutes...no one at the cash to take my money. i was literally waiting there looking at the 3 other service people DO NOTHING but stare at the line of NO ONE just to avoid eye contact. i'm assuming they have no till privileges but then the guy who served my salads came over. so what gives Tractor? is it the whole pretentiousness of it all? i can imagine serving lunchtime downtown workers gourmet salads and sandwiches is akin to poking your eyeballs out but jeezus h. i mean i've been there. you don't have to love it, but you can at least try to make a good time of it! oh also, don't EVER show up between 12-1.30. the line up is madness. read more

Similar in concept to their W 4th location that I have been at some times while going to the record store on the same block. This was is more in the business financial district downtown, therefore, you get a lot of corporate rushed people rather than the chill hipster type. Lots of salad and soup collections. Nothing that will fill you but a lot of low cal "clean" eating if you're on a dietary restriction of some sort. Customer service was good. Prices were moderate high, however, you're paying market value on some of the stuff. Over use of the olive oil on the salad and barely tasted any of the champagne vinaigrette. The butternut squash soup was actually good and well seasoned. read more

I like the concept and healthy food options are increasingly more popular and important but if you can't eat cilantro, don't come here. Cilantro is mixed in with the brown rice and most of the sides.
