I love that Tractor Foods had a calm ambiance right when I stepped in. It was great to come in with that environment as it was cold and rainy out. I immediately noticed how clean and tidy their space is. It's great for studying/working on your laptop. I ordered hot chocolate with almond milk. It was nice and warm, and not too sweet! Tractor Foods is a quick service healthy food spot in Vancouver. There are a few outlets in the Metro Vancouver area including a few downtown, North Vancouver and West Vancouver. Tractor Foods offers a variety of healthy, fresh and unique unique salads, soups, sandwiches and stews. They offer a variety of cafe beverages and pastries as well. Tractor foods in North Vancouver at Park Royal has a large dining area. There were booth seats and cafe tables as well. I liked the overall feel of the cafe and how relaxed it felt. There weren't any customers dining in on our visit but we're sure that they are bound to get busy on weekdays. When you enter the cafe you are greeted with all their food options for the day. I love how colourful everything looked but we were here for pastries this particular day. Beside the food service counter is the pastry case. They offer a variety of cookies, scones and muffins to choose from. The apricot power cookie is their version of a chewy fruit cookie. The cookie filled with healthy seeds and dried apricot. It was soft and chewy in texture, the perfect combination. We both liked the texture of the cookie but thought there could have been more apricots in it to add in fruity flavour. There was a strange taste about the cookie in the after-taste almost as though it was from the oil that was used to make it. It was alright but we wouldn't get it again. read more

I don't know why this place is called Tractor. I think that's kind of a weird title. Not quite a restaurant. Not quite a cafe. I will describe this place as an eatery. upon entering it is unclear at first glance what the theme of the food is. Is it Indian Food? Is it Thai food? Let's just say it's Asian cuisine. I came in just for a drink but I stayed for some food. The service was casual. There is many places to sit. Some of the tables had not been wiped down. The prices were average for the area. I had a Thai Curry. It was good. Not the best Thai curry I've had but the portion size was filling. Overall I would say it's pretty good. read more

This was my first time at Tractor as a midday health lunch option. I was a little surprised to see that a bowl of chicken salad was 18 bucks. The model is basically build-a-salad. You choose if you want rice or salad or both as your base. They add two sides which you can choose. The chicken breast is pre-grilled and is kept warm in a water bath. You pay and you are off. As much as I liked the salad, I don't believe it justifies the $18+ price tax. It is great if you want to try it for the brand name but in my opinion it is not worth the money. read more

I love Tractor. This is coming from someone who has never loved salad. The salads I ate throughout my life were because of HeaLtHy reasons, but never did I feel like I would crave or love them, that is, until a colleague recommended Tractor to me. Being a new employee at the time, I felt that I had the obligation to not reject any suggestions that my colleague made. Oh boy, was I glad to give this a chance. Grilled chicken bowl. Half and half brown rice with power greens. Kale and mushroom. Wild mushroom ditalini (AN ALL TIME FAVOURITE) So good. I come here for lunch or dinner sometimes when I'm craving for something healthy but also filling and delicious. Price ranges from $13-$15 depending on whether you're getting a half chicken or full. I've tried some of the other sides, which are also good and my colleagues love them, but for me it's gotta be the kale and the ditalini. They also serve pretty good matcha latte here. Goes well with the food. I'm really looking forward to trying the lemonades. Lots of seating. Perfect for the summer with their outdoor seats as well. Don't miss out! Tractor is pretty convenient if you're craving something healthy on the go. First, pick your base (greens, brown rice, or half and half). I chose 50/50! Then, pick up to 2 salads (I chose the lemon kale which had beans and I think cranberries in it too, and the curried cauliflower). They have a number of proteins to choose from, I only saw the braised short rib after I had already picked the grilled chicken. It's cafeteria style so you pick as you go through the counter and then pay at the end before they bring it to your table. Everything was flavourful and filling, plus I was surprised by how much meat you get! I was curious about the tomato soup too so I added it to my order for $4. It's always nice to have something hot on the side especially if the weather is cold! Keep in mind it's relatively pricy (total was $19.50 without a drink ) but it's worth it if you want some tasty, convenient nourishment. Why not? read more

We were there for lunch today. The butternut squash soup was too watery and it had no chunks of butternut squash like the one that the server gave to the customer before me. He took my soup out of the pot that was different than the pot that he took the soup for that customer. Why would that be? Favouritism? The server did not ask me if I wanted the toppings on the soup or not; he just added them onto the soup. What if I am allergic to those toppings? He asked me if I wanted the bread for the soup and I said no but he still gave it to me. When he handed me the soup, he used his fingers to hold the rim of the bowl (instead of holding the bottom of the bowl) and gave it to me. Even though he wore gloves, this was unhygenic. Furthermore, the server put too much ice into the lemonade which was unnecessary. It was chilly outside and we did not request much ice. Instead of putting the lid onto the cup of lemonade, he handed my friend the stack of lids and let her took a lid from the stack. It was odd that he put the lid on for the soup but not for the lemonade. Moreover, the music in the background was so loud which it was difficult to hear what the server was saying especially he was wearing a mask. In addition, there were broken utensils on the floor everywhere. This was not only a hazard to the customers but also to the employees as well. The quality of the food and service was indeed disappointing according to the price. This was my first time and also my last time with Tractor. read more

Sometimes they're not the freshest. I came here to eat healthy but often it's not healthy because it's been either sitting out too long or it's just old ingredients. For example I ordered an oatmeal once and it was 2 days old and the fruit tasted like wine. Should have been thrown out and made fresh every morning. Not hard to make oatmeal, takes like 3 minutes. I work close by and have been wanting to try it out for months. The online ordering is convenient enough and the food was decent. However the staff are horrible. I did my online order and went there to pick up my order. I was not familiar with the pick up rack and waited by the counter for 10 minutes. During that whole time not a single employee acknowledged me at all. No eye contact was made , no one stopped to ask if I needed help. You would think a customer standing there for that long would need help. It wasn't until I noticed a customer grabbing their order that I realized there was a pick up rack. The line up moves along - the servers behind the steam table hustle to fill your bowl. Pay at the cash much further down the line. Take your number on a stick and find a seat. Your bowl will be brought to you. Blueberry lemonade worth lining up for, orange juice refreshing. I found it very loud, we moved outside which is great in fair weather. Nice ambience, good selection of "sides" for the bowl, this location lots of health authority staffers. Easy transit, bus stops right out front, easy walk from Canada Line Cambie. I came here for a healthy lunch to go to eat on the steps of 3 salad combo, one Quinoa based, veggie based, protein bean based...all of the salads were well flavored and filling. Prices are universal with the other locations and the customer service was good. My only complaint which is more of a suggestion is that they may want to have one Keto option. My friend who I was with who, like me, is on Keto (I am a little slowly and optional on the whole Keto thing) had a tough time with the selections but managed and we worked it out. read more

Group of us came in for some much needed sustenance. Service was quite decent. However food safe protocol ... was very poor. The person who was preparing our food also took cash payments and then went back to handling the sandwich order WITHOUT changing gloves until we called them out on it. Only then did they confusedly say, "oh, right" and switch to a new pair of gloves. They had already touched and cut a few items with the old gloves ... and initially we were going to ask them to remake it, but decided not to. In hindsight, probably should have. The washrooms were also unfortunately not very ... well taken care of. Empty dispensers and the toilets had a thick, pink spreading ring in both stall toilets ... which would suggest that it hadn't been scrubbed/cleaned in at least 2 weeks. The food was alright. Stews/soups were lukewarm. The brown rice was extremely hard and chunky, which we surmise is due to being under cooked. One of us had noodles as the base and it just fell apart: you couldn't pull out a piece of pasta without it disintegrating. It was extremely mushy unfortunately. Possibly over-mixed or over-cooked? The cauliflower was pretty good overall, though. We're in the F&B industry as well and we deal with food safety and washroom cleanings on a daily, so we're fully aware of protocols and all that jazz. Would we come back? High chance probably not. Hopefully if we ever do, though, these issues will have been addressed because I really don't want to see a place with an overall nice atmosphere, fairly decent pricing, and relatively good customer service disappear. Three times I have eaten at Tractor and I have noticed some inconsistency in the salads. My go to salads are Curried Cauliflower, Mushroom Dittalini and Snap Pea, Potato and Mint. Just writing the names makes me hungry! The inconsistency lies in the size of the scoops. The strange, long, and unwieldy serving dishes look nice but they are really too narrow to serve from properly. When the dishes are full, the server has trouble navigating the overflowing column of food. When they can't get a proper spoonful, they give up too soon! Really non-intuitive physical setup - I walked in, couldn't figure out which line to stand in, so stood in cashier line to order a salad, after getting to the front of the line told that I need to be in the lineup starting in the corner next to the salads which at this point had about 6-7 people in it. Went in for my 1st time and confusing as to where you are to place your order...the people behind the counter are as equally as confused and in no rush to offer any help. Watched one of the line cooks scratch his head with bare hands and then prepare some poor sole's lunch! Waited to be at least acknowledged, wasn't even busy. so walked out and went to next door and was served right away. This is the first time I've tried Tractor even though they have many other locations around. I came in around 1pm and the lunch rush was still on. The line moves pretty quick so it wasn't a concern for me. I tried their "build your own bowl" with power greens as my base, kale with grilled lemon and Brussel sprouts with apricots for my two sides and the ahi tuna for my protein. I only had to wait about five minutes for my order to be ready. I took my order to go but they have a good amount of seating and also outdoor patio seating too! The bowl was pretty big and the sides I chose were delicious. The ahi tuna was grilled nicely and tasted good with a bit of char. The food at Tractor is pretty healthy and high quality. This is my or our Go To Luncheon place whenever in this area. It's the best location for consistency, quality, quantity, Yum factor and teamwork or staffing. My friend can't eat the portions so I help out but it's nutrient denser and filling. My base is half power greens and half brown rice with basaltic dressing or olive oil & lemon juice. The noon crowd fills up the place quickly so arriving earlier than 12!or after 1pm recommended but service is quick. Value wise - Great 4-5/5. Cleanliness- Average to Good due to crowds. Service: 4-5/5 (Team has good attitude or passion to serve or present displays). I mostly eat when the foods come out fresh around 11-1pm so I don't know what it's like for other meal times. We come so often it'd be nice to something new but they just changed their menu 2-3 months ago. That's how often we eat here! The cooks are responsive and work hard to please!
