    Thai Curry
    Nissa B.

I don't know why this place is called Tractor. I think that's kind of a weird title. Not quite a restaurant. Not quite a cafe. I will describe this place as an eatery. upon entering it is unclear at first glance what the theme of the food is. Is it Indian Food? Is it Thai food? Let's just say it's Asian cuisine. I came in just for a drink but I stayed for some food. The service was casual. There is many places to sit. Some of the tables had not been wiped down. The prices were average for the area. I had a Thai Curry. It was good. Not the best Thai curry I've had but the portion size was filling. Overall I would say it's pretty good.

This was my first time at Tractor as a midday health lunch option. I was a little surprised to see that a bowl of chicken salad was 18 bucks. The model is basically build-a-salad. You choose if you want rice or salad or both as your base. They add two sides which you can choose. The chicken breast is pre-grilled and is kept warm in a water bath. You pay and you are off. As much as I liked the salad, I don't believe it justifies the $18+ price tax. It is great if you want to try it for the brand name but in my opinion it is not worth the money.

Delicious super healthy food. Never had anything like this in San Diego. I ate here twice and totally enjoyed a repeat. Pea, edamame mint salad. Cauliflower, potato Curry salad and potato with mint. They had all sorts of salads, sandwiches, wraps and soups. A definite high-end health food Spot. They do not take cash.

Grilled chicken bowl with kale and mushroom and wild mushroom ditalini

I love Tractor. This is coming from someone who has never loved salad. The salads I ate throughout my life were because of HeaLtHy reasons, but never did I feel like I would crave or love them, that is, until a colleague recommended Tractor to me. Being a new employee at the time, I felt that I had the obligation to not reject any suggestions that my colleague made. Oh boy, was I glad to give this a chance. Grilled chicken bowl. Half and half brown rice with power greens. Kale and mushroom. Wild mushroom ditalini (AN ALL TIME FAVOURITE) So good. I come here for lunch or dinner sometimes when I'm craving for something healthy but also filling and delicious. Price ranges from $13-$15 depending on whether you're getting a half chicken or full. I've tried some of the other sides, which are also good and my colleagues love them, but for me it's gotta be the kale and the ditalini. They also serve pretty good matcha latte here. Goes well with the food. I'm really looking forward to trying the lemonades. Lots of seating. Perfect for the summer with their outdoor seats as well. Don't miss out! The staff are also pretty nice too :)

Lemon kale salad, curried cauliflower salad, tomato soup

Tractor is pretty convenient if you're craving something healthy on the go. First, pick your base (greens, brown rice, or half and half). I chose 50/50! Then, pick up to 2 salads (I chose the lemon kale which had beans and I think cranberries in it too, and the curried cauliflower). They have a number of proteins to choose from, I only saw the braised short rib after I had already picked the grilled chicken. It's cafeteria style so you pick as you go through the counter and then pay at the end before they bring it to your table. Everything was flavourful and filling, plus I was surprised by how much meat you get! I was curious about the tomato soup too so I added it to my order for $4. It's always nice to have something hot on the side especially if the weather is cold! Keep in mind it's relatively pricy (total was $19.50 without a drink ) but it's worth it if you want some tasty, convenient nourishment. Why not?

The almost $5 classic breakfast sandwich

When your cooks leave the kitchen and forget that multiple orders are on the board, a two star review is generous. Waited fifteen minutes for a breakfast sandwich before I realized there wasn't anyone in the kitchen. Asked the cashier for my meal to go, as I ran out of time. Apparently it was forgotten. They slapped something together and handed it to me twenty minutes after I ordered. If it was busy, I get it, but it wasn't. Also, $4.75 for a toasted bun with scrambled eggs and special sauce is a bit rich for me.

The chili-lime tofu, my go-to, is grilled fresh and juicy with a tangy marinade. I find these bowls very filling, but the price adds up quickly as you add more salad scoops, so I find it best to be conservative with my estimate of how much I think I need to eat. Besides the salad bowls, they have some hot entrees. I tried the Moroccan chickpea hot bowl and the tomato soup and both were a little bland, which was especially disappointing for something labelled "Moroccan". I would go back and try some different entrees to see if anything else is better, but I would say the salads are likely the best choice here. They have a very limited selection of "healthy" baked goods too. I really liked the chocolate pistachio cookie. As you would expect, it's significantly less sweet and has a slightly drier texture than a regular cookie, but if you like that kind of "better for you" treat, it's good. Very cocoa-forward. I've had good experiences with the service. The staff is friendly enough and usually pretty fast. It's counter service, but they'll usually bring your food to you at your table. There's a good amount of seating inside and a few tables outside when the weather allows. It's minimalist but clean.

This is the place where I usually buy cakes for the office. Their cakes are pre-made and placed in the displays for you to choose from. They make cakes throughout the day, but if you're unlucky they could be low on choices if you're there at the wrong time. If you have time, order ahead, but I don't usually have any problems with walk ins. The most recent cakes that I purchased were the Lemon Meringue and the Chocolate. Both cakes were sweet, light and fluffy. They were a hit in the office.

The HBC Gourmet Market is a little known great eatery in downtown Vancouver. It is located on the bottom floor of the Hudson's Bay Company (next to the Pacific Centre food court). It appears to be relatively unknown because Yelp doesn't know about it and so many people are always asking where I buy my lunch! Here you will find a very tasty selection of typical deli fare... The soups, salads, and sandwiches are their main selects but there is a whole lot more! My favourites are the Thai Chicken soup and the Chipotle Chicken Soup... usually ordered with a Greek salad. I am always so pleased with my lunch that I made this my very first review on Yelp!

Korean guy at the front waves at us, asks how many people, and directs us to a seat. Then another Korean guy comes over and scolds us, telling us to next time please wait at the front until being seated. Clearly they have some organizational issues here and not a great start to this visit. We place our order. Food for 2 of our 4 arrive about 10 mins later. The food for the other 2 people arrive another 20 mins later. Meanwhile the food for the first 2 ppl just sit there. Thankfully they were in clay pots so it was still warm at least, but this is ridiculous. There is no reason for this. If you're slow to get food out, fine, but bring it all out at once. The restaurant itself is huge, looks like a lounge and bar but mostly empty. The staff are all dressed differently too in street clothes so its hard to tell who works there. They are clearly struggling with understaffing. We had a caucasian waitress who came by to deliver food. She was very nice and friendly. About the food. We ordered: kimchi soondubu - asked for extra spicy, it was barely spicy. beef/seafood mixed soondubu - asked for spicy, it was straight up not spicy. The broth base was the same for each, and lacked depth of flavour. The tofu itself was pretty good, silky smooth, but tofu takes on the flavours of whatever it's cooked with and in this case, not much... The beef in these was just ok and there wasnt much of it. The seafood in the mixed one amounted to 1 clam and 1 shrimp shell-on. There was nothing else in it. 2/5 for both of these. Gamjatang - medium sized portion, good for 2, maybe 3 people. Meat was ok, broth was not bad. Solid average. 3/5. banchan served with the meals were the biggest disappointment. 2/5. This might be the most disappointing banchan ive had in a Korean restaurant in a long time. They served regular cabbage kimchi, radish kimchi, and bean sprouts. thats it. None of them were particularly good (not bad, just nothing great). And for a party of 4, they served a single portion of each banchan for the whole table. We had to ask for refills 3 more times. You have 4 diners, all with food that comes with Banchan normally. Wouldnt it be reasonable to bring out 4 portions of banchan right off the bat? Especially when you're understaffed? Overall: Main dishes 2.5/5. Banchan 2/5 for overall selection and quality. Service 2/5 - really comes down to severe understaffing and really poor management of how the kitchen is run. The staff there do their best but they need help. Venue 3/5. Overall, 2 to 2.5/5. This place might be the worst Korean place on the Robson strip of all the ones Ive been to. That's saying a lot, since Vancouver doesnt have amazing Korean food to begin with, and this is one of the worst of the bunch.

The flavors were all tasty, and getting a side of their spicy dip elevated the sandwich even more. 10/10 would eat on the regular if I lived near by. The grilled cheese was alright though in comparison to the porchetta sandwich. Great cheese pull, definitely needs some dipping sauce to elevate it though.
