I come here often for the salad bar. The salad bar food has such a good variety, and everything (except occasionally the lettuce is wilted) is fresh and tasty. I especially love the beets and the pickled asparagus. The hummus is creamy and goes with everything. Price is very reasonable for downtown, and the owners are friendly and patient. This location is usually empty; so I thought to try it for the takeout Salad Bar. Frankly, it was disappointment in contrast to the reviews I saw. Lettuce/spinach was dry. I should have cut out when I saw the carrots were those bagged mini carrots. Selection was poor, but I was in a rush. I took it to the counter; and guy tried to upsell me 'chicken' . I said no, and asked for a rubber band (as I was on my bike) The price for about half a pound of raw vegetables came to $18 I kid you not. I LOVE this place. We live close by and have been coming here for prob 8 years now. I prefer a low carb diet and this is the best place to go for fresh, healthy, delicious food. The chicken is so flavorful, so juicy, and delicious! I get craving for it all the time. It ALWAYS hits the spot. I usually order the food to go since I live so close. I was warmly greeted upon entering, and I quickly purused their menu, which was simple and easy to understand. We were craving falafels while in Vancouver and saw that Green Leaf was just steps from our hotel. We wandered over and since it was Father's day and rainy (and an odd time), we were the only customers. It's clearly a family owned business which is awesome. One of the daughters came up to take our order and get our food ready. We took a seat and noticed the family (mom, dad and two sisters) was sitting at the table having tea. The one sister was the only one who kept getting up when we needed something or other customers walked in. The food was pretty good. We both got falafel sandwiches which were good and a plate of hummus and pita. For the amount of hummus that was served, the amount of pita didn't make sense (4 triangles). We were putting dollops on our falafel sandwiches though, so we didn't care. I wanted more hot sauce, so I asked the girl and she added some to a small dixie cup and gave it to me. After tasting it, I'm fairly sure it was just Frank's red hots, which was a bit disappointing because I love all the fresh hot sauce I get at various falafel joints. I discovered this place "by accident" near my office and I was PLEASANTLY surprised. Since then I have visited more than twice a week, mostly for their sweets and authentic lebanese coffee! (The kind of coffee that beats an afternoon snooze) I love the Baklava and other lebanese sweets they offer - they are not overly sweet or dripped in honey ...just enough and quite light and tasty. I have even ordered trays of their pastries for events we had. Wafaq (who is the woman owner who cooks all the food) cares a lot about her food and cooks "with love" ... Everyone there including her daughters, Mira and Sarah, and husband, are quite friendly ( as other reviews below assert to) which makes you feel like you're going to eat " at home"...this high level of "personal touch" and yummy deserts is what keeps me coming back!
