Immediately, I was overwhelmed with the smell of the food and the welcoming greeting, he gave me More goes to the wrap was huge.

Veggie plate with BEST falafel, hummus and potatoes- ever!
    Nicole F.

Delicious food!!!! This place is fantastic. Probably the best falafel I've ever had. More texture in the mix, so they probably use fresh chick peas vs. powder. The roasted potatoes are to die for and the chicken shawarma wrap was not only full of tender, deliciously seasoned chicken, it was huge. And there are toppings galore. We came here before a Canucks game to eat better food at better prices than what you can ever get at a corporate arena. It's a five minute walk, so it's super convenient and soooo worth it. If we lived in Vancouver, we'd be here every week. This place is authentic, immaculate and just darned tasty. Mm! Enjoy!

Amazing wraps and service! I found this place on yelp and we were staying in an Airbnb across the street. I ran over there and got takeout so we can enjoy it at our place and I was not disappointed! Both the chicken Shawarma wrap and the lamb wrap were delicious. He makes it to order and you can put in as little or as much of all of the items as you want. There are so many different fixins to put on including cheese, vegetables, different types of sauce, and some spicy stuff. I also got a Greek salad which was delicious. Everything was very fresh and good quality. We actually got take out here twice in two days, that's how delicious it was! The guy working here is super nice and very accommodating. Highly recommend!!

I have to say Einstein is a pleasant surprise near Keefer Street (or International Village neighbourhood) and Yelp brought me here for cheap eats. I got Chicken Shawarma wrap ($6.50) for lunch earlier and it was filling and delicious. Meat slices in the wrap was tender and moist, whereas some Donair joint had dry pieces in them. It was also fresh and full of greens as well. Service was fast and friendly. Maybe I should switch to Einstein instead of Babylon Cafe? **Visa and debit are accepted. NO wifi here.

Great place to pick up a quick bite. Fresh, delicious food. Friendly service. Minimal seating; stools in front of window or against wall.

It's a wrap / donair / pita place... It's right beside the entrance to the International Village Mall parking lot.... Pretty new place (they've only been open for about 2 weeks).... the owners (family place... wife, and husband) have been involved in this kind of business before (the husband worked at Pita King on Expo Blvd for a few years). Now they've struck at it on their own. Limited menu... chicken shawarma and lamb... a few combos with salads or rice as the side. It's a tiny place, but the space is used fairly well... there's a few bar stools spread around the front window, and on the wall. I had the chicken shawarma wrap.... as a combo. The chicken was pretty tasty and flavourful... the salad was pretty good (maybe a touch too much vinegar in the dressing... but only a touch). And thankfully they're making taboulleh for the wraps (I think this guy was the only one at the Pita King making taboulleh... when he left... no more taboulleh). For the price... it was VERY filling, and I felt I got a lot of value for the $$$. Would definitely go back if I was feeling hungry or snackish! Edit... Forgot to mention... saw a "Halal" sticker on the window... FYI.

Surprisingly good. I honestly did not expect the food here to be this good. After one visit, this place has become my favorite wrap/donair place. I had the lamb and chicken platter and every component of the platter (except for one) ticked the right "tastiness" box. The chicken was tender and not dry. The lamb was bouncy and not tough. The rice was moist. The salad was fresh. The platter was not overly sauced - the right amount of sauce was drizzled on. The hummus had a good consistency along with a good flavor. The pita was nicely toasted so that it was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The lone outlier was the falafel - it was super dry and super tough...but that was totally forgivable given the tastiness of the other components. 3.89 stars

    Lamb donair platter $8.49
    LL Cool J.

Wraps start at $6.49. To be honest, I don't know the difference between a shawarma, donair, and falafel... So I ordered the lamb platter, which was $8.49. The plate comes with salad, potatoes, pita, lamb, and rice. It was flavorful and the lamb was tender. Portions are large for me, and the prices are reasonable. They opened around a month ago. Staff are very friendly, and I like that the place is clean (I hope they keep this up). Since it's staffed by two people, don't expect to be in and out with your food in a minute. I have no complaints and can see myself coming here regularly for lunch (I'm Asian and love my rice after all). My only suggestion: aside from word of mouth being a good way to promote their business (and yelp of course), it's the smell of tasty meat that draws me to wrap places, eg. World wide wrap in Gastown, and Babylon in downtown. If Einstein Wrap House can somehow make the aroma of tastiness float through the open door, I'm sure they will have long line ups.

    Lamb Platter for under $10
    Dick L.

Large servings, delicious food, and under $10! This is a bright little restaurant that caters to those on the go (ie. lunch takeout, before/after a concert or game). It is a family-run business, and you are always greeted by one of it's owners when entering the shop. Many of the patrons I've seen here are regulars who all love this place. Alex (the owner) is always personable, friendly with his customers, and is genuine. The dining area is limited to stools with counters lined up against the front window and the wall; there are no tables/chairs. I love the food here. Chicken shawarma, lamb shawarma, donairs, falafel, I've had it all. Always juicy and flavourful. And Alex always makes sure there is plenty of food on every plate he serves. With meals like this, who needs McDonalds or any of the other fast food places around here anyways?

Veggie wrap full of goodness...homemade and very fresh
    Lucy W.

Veggie lover's haven...Had the super tasty veggie wrap with hummus and all the trimmings! All sauces are home made and the owner is incredibly nice. Great value and portion. I can't speak for the meat or falafels but it's rare to get different types of veg, hummus, yogurt, potatoes, rice and delicious and healthy sauces without getting fried falafels. I felt great supporting this family run restaurant. The owner was not only patient with my questions, he was extra kind to what looked like a homeless customer who came in, taking care to ensure he got everything he needed. I didn't expect such a nice experience esp. from shawarma place -- they definitely have a repeat customer!

It would have been nice to have some Arabic or oriental music playing in the background. Maybe also some rose saboun in the bathroom would have been nice!! (Ok I'm overdoing it...just sharing my two cents!) Overall food was good, but I think service could be improved. We ordered the cold mezze sampler platter for 3, and we were a party of 4 adults. The portion was good and everything was delicious. I'm GF, and they serve the dips with lettuce for free (or you can order a side of cucumbers for a small charge). The presentation was lovely. The only thing I didn't like was after a while all of the dips just get mushed together and you kinda don't know what you're eating anymore...Also we all loved the jalapeno hummus the most. We asked for arak and it wasn't served the right way...Our server forgot to bring an extra empty glass so that we can mix the arak with water (in the proportional way that we'd like). I asked for an empty glass for mixing in addition to another drinking glass because mine was broken (crack was big and the glass should be chucked out). Server forgot to get an empty mixing glass. We ordered a taouk pita wrap, but we got served a taouk platter instead. Anyhow she just wasn't very attentive. The mixed grill mezze platter was mostly yummy except for the kafta. All of us at the table couldn't have more than a bite of it. The meat was undercooked, and the taste of the lamb was too strong and off. Definitely didn't taste like the kafta we know. The chicken and the cauliflower were delicious. I'd be tempted to try Nuba at another location and sample other things off their menu. Happy eating!!

From the moment we sat down, the experience was something special. They start you off with warm, grilled bread alongside a gorgeous pool of fresh olive oil, and here's the touch that sets the tone for the whole evening: the oregano garnishing that oil is cut tableside from a live plant. It's a small detail, but it tells you everything about how much this kitchen cares. We went all in on the menu and have zero regrets. The spread platter was outstanding, multiple dips, beautifully presented with soft bread, each one distinct and well-crafted. The warm marinated olives were rich and aromatic, the kind of thing you keep reaching back into. The calamari was perfectly fried, light, crispy, served with a creamy tzatziki dipping sauce. For mains, the whole lobster with fries was a showstopper, generous, fresh, and served with clarified butter and a tangy sauce. The halibut was elegant and delicate, plated with roasted vegetables and large capers in a way that felt genuinely refined. The cocktails and drink program held up beautifully throughout the meal too. This is the kind of restaurant that makes a night feel like an occasion. The food is thoughtful, the ingredients are clearly quality, and the atmosphere delivers. And Yuri, our waiter, was absolutely fantastic. If you're on the fence because of that rating -- ignore it. How we got here: my lunch appointment went long and I was hungry, needed to grab something quick before the next meeting. I had seen a sign somewhere in the area for a lovely Greek gyro previously. I wasn't able to find the sign/restaurant I had seen previously. We walked past this place and while I was trying to figure out whether or not they offered a Greek gyro, one of the workers there essentially pulled us in off the street and put a menu in front of us. They have so many images-everywhere it was a bit of a challenge to figure it out quickly. I saw the shaved lamb on the right of the "cooking area" so I figured I would get what I was asking for. In the restaurant, that was basically empty at lunch, I figured out why he grabbed us, they are probably desperate for business. They also charged us like we were the only paying customers. Most places offer a lunch combo meal, gyro, drink and fries for a single low price but our order of two combos was nearly $60!!!! I have receipt!!! (See attached). What we got was definitely not shaved lamb. The meat was chunky, beef stew LIKE meat and as I am unfortunately eating this as I write this review I can't tell you it tastes AWFUL!! They probably get this s#it cheap!!! On it, was some kind of sauce, also not tzatziki. As they are Persian and not Greek I suspect they don't even know what tzatziki sauce is! You can tell from the pictures the sauce isn't right, the vegetables don't look fresh, the bread is stale The $7 order of fries is disgusting as well. I wanted to treat myself to ordering lunch out. I will NEVER patronize this place again, I dare call it a restaurant, it should be permanently closed. I think I have to vomit now to save myself! Please consider this WARNING a gift. My time is EXTREMELY VALUABLE and I don't have time for this kind of food crime or BS. I call FRAUD!!! What appeared to be the manager? or owner? was drunk out of his mind by 6:00 and as other staff came in for shift the bro-crew all sat at the bar and kept drinking. How do I know they were staff? They kept going behind the bar and in and out of the kitchen and fraternized with the waitresses. At the bar they were loud, carousing, offensive (really) and did not have any respect for any customer in the place. Mind you there were only 4 tables at the peak of dinner on a Saturday. Says something. It got out of hand within the hour that we were there. The 'owner(?)' actually grabbing one of the waitresses and lifting her across his lap at the bar. And others going over to the bus station to give a waitress a squeeze. Happy hour snacks very very so-so but one of our party liked the burger. However, from working some years in restaurants with good leadership, I know it should be expected that staff do not sit at the bar to drink - ever. And this is an example of why. It too easily gets out of hand, and in this case was certainly encouraged by the owner/manager, who should be fired immediately. He is either ignorant of what it takes to run a restaurant or was placed there by a friend/family member. I would be surprised if it was his money at stake. He is unwittingly running the business into the ground. I for one will never be back and noone I know will either.
