They were busy and seating is limited. This is not a table service established. Chipotle model and that's all great if you're in a hurry. If you eat in and don't get a carry out box, the portion on their platter is larger. We didn't ask for carry-out but that's what we received. We're not sure why? We had dinner here on our first day in Vancouver before boarding our Alaska cruise, and it was a fantastic way to kick off the trip! The food was genuinely delicious. The seasoning was spot-on, and the meats were perfectly cooked: juicy, flavorful, and satisfying. We especially loved the warm sweet mint tea that a staff member brought around; it was so refreshing and calming after a long travel day. The only downside was the salad dressing. It was overwhelmingly sour and far too heavy, to the point where we couldn't eat the salad at all. Such a shame, as we were really looking forward to the greens! The setup is counter-service style: you order at the counter and then pick up your food and drinks. It's casual and efficient. We ordered Shawarma mix wrap(Beef and chicken ), Mix Shawarma meat rice bowl(beef and chicken) I did not try wrap, I was told it was delicious as usual. The portion was very large. Beef and chicken rice bowl was great, too. I liked hummus on the top and sour cream on the top and provided great flavor to meats. However what was the biggest negative for me was that the tables and chairs were not clean and was kind of all over the place. I had trouble finding a table to sit down at that had been cleaned. Overwhelming number of fake reviews on Google lured us in, but after we ate we checked Yelp. We knew something was up when there were only 30 reviews on Yelp, compared to 7k+ on Google after only one year. The food is mid tier, nothing to write home about. The restaurant on the other hand, is a terrible layout. There is nowhere to sit, tables are dirty, and the staff is rude and dismissive. OMG. I saw this place on some list on social media about needing to check it out and I am so glad I did. I think it was the best Shawarma place I've ever been to in my life... Better than Germany.. better than anything else, I have tried at least in Canada... I got a beef Shawarma plate and everything on the plate was absolutely phenomenal. The hummus was a ridiculous creaminess that I can't even compare it to anywhere else. The potatoes with a garlic sauce on top... I could eat that all day seriously!! The beef on the rice were amazing together and the crunchy pita on top of the salad added a really nice texture. Wasifa came by with some tea samples, and I also got to try a falafel and baklava sample and everything was heavenly. The price at first felt a little bit steep, but you're getting a solid plate of food. Bigger than most platters you'll find out there so definitely feels worth the money. I spent several years living in Ottawa which has abundant amazing Shawarma, arguably Canada's shawarma capital, and this place reminds me of it. Salad - standard, not much to say here. garlic sauce - excellent Falafel balls - hot, crisp, flavorful. But just too salty. Tahini - average Hot sauce - not hot, at all, and too sweet for me. Hummus - average - a little too runny for my taste but it is rich and creamy. For Vancouver Shawarma, this is the place to go. Easy recommend. Just avoid their hot sauce, and falafel is too salty. Ventilation could be better, it was a bit warm (I felt the food smell stuck on to our clothes) and the wait time was a bit long since they call you over to choose the toppings, but it was worth it and we just waited by the entrance until we heard our number called. We had the poutine with chicken and beef along with a beef shawarma and a chicken shawarma - all very tasty and had generous portions! There's a reason why this place has got pretty much a 5/5 star rating! I got the meat lovers combo plate for togo and BOY was it hella loaded. So many different components and yet everything worked sososo well together. Every bite was an enjoyable one. I just wish they provided extra sauces for free because the meats weren't super seasoned. I got all the sauces they offered and it was like a medley in my mouth. My favorite protein was definitely the donair (chicken and beef were alright too, but just not as good). The garlic sauce was amazinggg with the potatoes. Hummus and salad were also delicious. I think they forgot my pita, so I just had the hummus with the potatoes. Deliciously Chaotic! It was easily the best meal from our weekend trip to Vancouver but they really need to revamp their ordering system. On a busy night, there's no room for anyone (staff or patrons) between the counter and the seating area. Also, a nice woman offered us her table but as we're cleaning it off before we sit, an entitled teenager jumps in a seat, waves over her friends and said it doesn't look like there's room for us. WOW. The food is so full of flavor. We ordered a chicken shawarma wrap and mixed shawarma plate. Either can easily feed 2 people each - and my husband and I are both big eaters. Pineapple juice is also very sweet and dense with fruit pulp. I went 2 days later and had the falafel wrap with spicy sauce. Everything is amazing.
