For 3am, this hotdog tasted great. Was worried that it was just hype, but definitely tasted great. The workers were nice, and took less than 10 minutes for our order.

I had an overnight layover in Vancouver, and this is the place I chose to go for my only meal in the city; that's how good it is. I first tried Japadog years ago, and it made a lasting impression for the most unique hot dog offerings. Everything on the menu deserves its own individual shoutout: the drinks, the hot dogs, the poutine, the dessert ice cream, everything is simply worth a visit! Even late at night, there was always someone in line. This time around, I visited a bit late at night, which was a new experience. My only two complaints and reasons for the one star short is that we were left to dine in the cold since the indoor dining closed after 10pm, and many of the fan favorite menu items were completely sold out. I would suggest for the owners to invest in an outdoor heater to keep customers warm in the wintertime if it's not possible to extend dining hours indoors past 10pm. And given the demand for some of the menu items, it might be prudent to maintain supplies to keep up with the demand. I'm sure I'm not the only person who returns hoping to taste something, and it would be disappointing to leave without a chance, especially as we travel from other countries. Overall, Japadog is just as great as I remembered. Although I didn't get a chance to order the items I wanted, I had fun exploring new menu varieties. Definitely looking forward to next time....

Overall: B // 4 stars Extremely interesting offering of fast food that is much better in every aspect compared to America. Would definitely be happy to have this as an option at the airport. (Yakisoba Dog: A) - Intriguing Japanese take on a hot dog that beautifully blends western and eastern street food together. (Pink Lemonade: C) - Very mid lemonade with not much to say; a bit highly priced for the slightly artifical nature of the drink. Food: +1 Presentation: E Price: E Atmosphere: E Service: E Menu: +1 Insta/Yelp/Beli/TikTok: @amei_eats

I came here at 230am today and this lady helped me make 3 orders of hotdog and each one was amazing. First one was the chicken cheese kastu dog, next is chicken karage dog with saffron, and the wagyu dog. Brought it back to the hotel Azur hotel to share with my wife and think it is decent and enjoyed the wagyu dog with mayo and seaweed topping.

Stopped for a snack while on the way to a Stanley park from the Capilano park. Heard this was unique to Vancouver and they have multiple locations, so figured we'd try it out. We split number 13 and my son had a number 7, which we all enjoyed. We also had the shaken fries, a match milkshake, and a yuzu coconut lemonade(my favorite. Certainly not fine dining, but I gotta give them 5 stars for creativity alone.

It's been 9 years since my last visit, and maybe my taste buds have matured or the quality has changed but it's not as good as I remembered! Got the spicy cheese terimayo dog. The dog was skinny with pieces of cheese inside and with an American level spicy. The caramelized onions, seaweed and BBQ sauce make it quite sweet. The bun felt stale; wasn't toasted or warm. The age ice cream was okay. Crispy and sweet but not fresh either. They also ran out of matcha and black sesame ice cream on a weekday evening :(

Kurabuta Terimayo - Kurabuta pork sausage, teriyaki sauce, kewpie mayo, fried onions and seaweed. It was very good!

Japadog is a fun stop if you are in the mood for something quick and different. The combination of Japanese flavors on a hot dog is unique and definitely stands out from the usual options. The dog itself was filling, with soft bread and generous toppings. The sauces and seaweed added an interesting mix of savory and slightly sweet flavors, making each bite more exciting than a regular hot dog. It is a bit messy, but that is part of the experience. Service was fast and efficient, perfect for a casual bite while exploring downtown. Overall, it is a good spot for a quick, satisfying snack when you want something playful and a little out of the ordinary.

5/5! Finally tried this place after countless recommendations from friends. I'm not from Vancouver so I was super excited to try this. It definitely lived up to the hype! I tried the signature kurobuta terimayo hotdog and it was perfect. The meat in the hotdog has the perfect bite to it and all the toppings just worked perfectly together. They have so many other variations of the hotdogs.. there is something for everyone! I would definitely come back next time I'm in the city to try the other varieties. They also have shake fries, poutine, desserts, and drinks too!

    #4 meat lovers + yakiniku + meat/cheese fries.

You just order on the system, it doesn't allow you to order drinks. They didn't seem super welcoming and the food was 1-2/5. We ordered the #4 meat lovers + yakiniku. The yakiniku was way too saucey and it had too much rice and bread to meat ratio (but maybe to cut the flavor the sauce - it wasn't too good anyway). I like that they had a sink to wash your hands after.

Place was a little small but has a big table in the middle that fits all of us! We got some stuff to share and try. We ordered the kurobuta terimayo, spicy cheese terimayo, wagyu terimayo, japamiso blt, garlic fries and a poutine. All the hot dogs were nice but my favorite two were the kurobuta terimayo and japamiso blt! When I tasted japamiso blt I think it was better than I expected and I really enjoyed it! We all liked the garlic shakes fries. I think the poutine was ok but not sure if I will order again.

On my first visit to Vancouver, I googled must eat foods and Japadog was listed. So I came to this legendary institution. It was a casual eatery with very little seating. We ordered on a computer screen and the food came out quickly. I enjoyed my mashed potato croquette hot dog, but my family thought their chili was too sweet and the beef was under seasoned. The lemonade was solid and the garlic fries were good (but not very garlicky). It was definitely worth a try and I would recommend anyone coming to Canada (although it's in the states too) give Japadog a try too.

Went on the recommendation of a co worker in the states. Check out their menu online before you go if possible. There are so many options. It is a small restaurant with just a few tables. Hot dog was good. The butter and soy sauce fries were something I had never had before and were ok but probably something I wouldn't get again.

I was really impressed with the price (7 dollars including a pop) and the choice of toppings and bun - potato or whole wheat. In addition to the halibut, they serve up salmon, lamb, turkey and buffalo, as well as a variety of premium toppings. I only wish that they had more options for the specialty side instead of having just pork brawst as most die hard health nuts aren't really the fan of the pig. Even though the prices are way higher for these dogs than the guy down the block I still don't feel as guilty eating these dogs. Oh and I loved how I was given a few free chips on the side. Defiately will be back to try some of the other items.

Oh well, what did I expect them to put on a lox and cream cheese bagel? The place itself was very busy and clearly popular. They serve German foods: sausages, perogies, etc. and sandwiches as well. I've had the sausage here before and it was very good. The shop was clean and the service moved quickly despite the crowd. Staff were very friendly. Good food and worth trying but just be prepared for Granville Island pricing.

First things first, this doesn't have the oomph and character coolness of Japadog that locals and visitors have grown to love. No long line ups here, no uniformed Japanese speaking staff, no photos of hotdogs with different toppings, and yes, no photo of Ice Cube too. There was only a friendly smile from the owner and one unique item offering which was the tandoori dog, choice of either kosher beef or kosher chicken. For $5.50, it was just plain and ordinary with only a hint of tandoori flavour basted on the hotdog. Despite the onions being nicely cooked in butter, bread rightly toasted, it was just boilerplate okay. It lacked creativity, texture and presentation, the wow factor. I was expecting toppings as chutney, yogurt, maybe paneer, or some curry infused side condiments, but there was only mustard, ketchup, and bbq sauce, typical for the dirty water dog varieties, not a stand named as Tandoori Tikka Dog. Sigh. Didn't mean to be the bearer of bad news here, but I'm giving it 2.5 stars and hoping they could improve as there's still lots of room left for more ethnic fusion street foods here in Vancouver. Meanwhile, I don't think it deserves a visit from Anthony Bourdain as of yet.
