I tried japadog for the first time in BC in 2020, and I kid you not, I have been thinking about it ever since. When I went this time I ordered the terimayo , and it was just as I remembered, if not better. Maybe it was because I haven't stoped thinking about it, but it hit just the spot. Despite it being very busy, the workers accommodated to every customers. I ordered: Kurobuta Oroshi- juicy hotdog, the radish made it refreshing All Beef Terimayo- delicious, juicy hotdog, crispy skin, good amount of toppings. Fries - crispy Yuzu Matcha Lemonade - light matcha flavour and a little too sour Overall, I'm so glad this mall had a japadog, it was a great place to grab a snack and re energize. The only thing I will say is that most tables are not kept clean (at least when I went) but I do understand that it is hard to maintain with how many customers are coming in and out. Borderline five stars! The hotdog was juicy, although it could have been cooked longer imo, and the condiments were delicious. It was quite messy though so I would recommend getting extra napkins. I really wanted to like this. Sadly not my favourite. I know the picture shows I ate it all. Yes this is true, however it is due to sheer hunger and my inability to waste food, not a result of the flavour or texture (both were not for me). As someone who has spent time in Japan this japadog tasted a lot more like my dog smells when coming in from the rain, than anything I had in Japan. The japadog was not even warm when served and the aftertaste was unpleasant and lasted for hours. Just not for me, maybe it's an acquired taste, but when travelling...I just don't have time, patience or the interest to acquire this particular taste! I definitely won't be back. read more

We had to try one of these hotdogs and it was right after we ate lunch. So glad we experienced this!! Delicious pork sausage with a nice snap to the skin when you bite into it. I got the #1 Kurobota topped with grilled onion, Japanese Mayo, teriyaki sauce and I asked for a dollop of bonito flakes. Delicious! So yum! Even the bun was done right. This is Japadog's Waterfront Station stand, located conveniently outside Skytrain station. I had Japadog twice during my stay at Vancouver. I was not disappointed at this famous Vancouver must-eat. The hot dogs could be a bit pricey compared to ordinary hot dogs. However, this is no ordinary hot dog, the additional Japanese flavour is what makes it special. The meat is a bit smaller but it's more tender. It fits perfectly with the soft buns and the special ingredients including Japanese mayo, seaweed and dried bonito fish shavings. I had the 1. Kurobuta Terimayo (dubbed as one of the must-eat items in Vancouver), and 2. Okonomi. Both were excellent! Do note, however, Japadog isn't that filling, so don't expect to eat it as lunch/dinner. It should be more like a snack. I'd like to try more menu items in the future, such as Yakisoba (with Japanese noodles), Ebi Tempura, or Salmon. These flavours aren't available at the Waterfront Stand. Finally, remember Waterfront location is Card only! read more

This is a pretty popular Japanese-inspired hot dog stand located all over Vancouver, even right outside of the airport if you missed your chance! I enjoy the fusion of the Japanese toppings on your classic hot dog, which makes for a great snack. I tried the #1 Kurobuta Terimayo hot dog ($8.29CAD), which comes with seaweed, fried onions, japanese mayo, and teriyaki sauce on a kurobuta pork hot dog. Just like how LA has its street dogs, this is Vancouver's version that you must try once. It's simple, but a classic. I've walked by this cart multiple times during my trip, and the deliciousness just wafting around the street was so enticing. I think what I enjoyed most about this hot dog is that the meat itself was super flavorful, juicy, tender, and cooked to perfection. Lots of toppings, and you can add relish and other condiments on the side if so choose. No seating at all nearby (not even steps), so we just awkwardly ate by the street. My family is visiting Vancouver all the way from TEXAS, USA! I was watching Vancouver youtube videos and came across multiple videos mentioning about Japadog, where hotdog "meats" (lol) Japanese food. We were visiting the area, of course, to see the Steam Clock; so, while at it, we stopped by this small food stand selling Japanese-inspired hot dog. We ordered #1 Kurobuta Terimayo and #2 Okonomi. For a chilly sunny day, lol, these hot dogs were amazing for our body to warm up. The hotdogs were made as soon as we ordered; so, they were not cold, but warm and fresh-made! I loved the both Kurobuta Terimayo and Okonomi for its unique taste of Japanese food on a hotdog. I would love to try other ones if I'm ever in the area. Wow that was disappointing! I love Japdogs, my go to location is Burrard Cart. So I don't know if they all have changed or does it just depend on the location, but did not like this location. I also noticed that this location had no reviews. I was here and its been almost a year since my last Beef terimayo, so I debated and hunger won. First off did they get smaller!?!!? Tasted ok not as juicy and flavorful as I remember it. And they didn't have wasabi mayo. For a $6 hot dog that will be the last Japdog I have. Sad. read more

This was a great place to stop by for a quick meal during our Vancouver trip. We were starving after we got off at Waterfront station, so the location of this cart right outside was super convenient. We ordered the #1 and #3 both of which were really good! The hot dog itself was juicy and flavorful and the toppings were also great. The radish on the #3 was light and refreshing and made it less heavy. The wait was a bit long, considering it was just a cart on the street and there wasn't really a good place to stand and wait, especially as more people started coming. I've loved Japadog since it's low key, humble beginnings on Burrard. It's unfortunate my first review of it is a negative one. Hear me out, I've been a regular, happy customer going to the Burrard cart or the resto on Robson. But I'm writing this review to warn other fans of this particular location. They tarnish the Japadog brand. This one on Cordova is just plain garbage. Second time eating here and the same result - garbage hotdog. I ordered the Kobe Terimayo. After ordering and paying, I noticed they pulled out a semi cooked dog from a small tray and just plopped it on the grill for a measly 30 seconds. Lousy. Took a bite was disappointed. The actual hotdog tasted and chewed like rubber. Rancid sauce. Weird smell overall. Just disgusting. I expected a better, longer grilling experience using a fresh, raw hotdog from the chill bin like how the other locations do it. Never coming back to this location ever again. Gonna stick to the Robson or Burrard locations. Also avoid the YVR Outlets Japadog. You'll get the same lousy experience as this Cordova location. read more

I got to taste their most popular menu item, the Terimayo dog, which came on a toasted bun and was topped with mayo and teriyaki sauce, then finished with a sprinkle of dried seaweed. The dog was very tasty and the sausage had an delightful snap with each bite. I also got to try ther veggie dog and I'll have to say for a meatless option, it was also very tasty. My friends and I got their signature hot dog called Terimayo, spicy cheese Terimayo, and Okonomi. It's like a fast-food cart service, so the food was given to me shortly after I paid.
