My boyfriend told me about this place and we decided to try it out since i really wanted poutine one last time before leaving Vancouver. We got the lumberjack poutine which had gravy, cheese curds, bacon, and onions. It was really good, not too heavy, and the portion was just right. read more

It's a burger joint, what do you expect? It's faux diner-fast food fusion. With a liquor licence. I ate my sloppy cheeseburger with a side of onion rings and a good friend. We made fun of the pretty people lined up for Cafe Medina on the sidewalk in the rain. I wouldn't make a special trip for Fatburger, but it was there and so was I. read more

A friend phoned me up to go food shopping at T n T. He took me out for lunch at Fatburger cuz he had a Groupon for the restaurant. Overall, it's ok... The hamburger meat was juicy the only thing is that the patty seemed a bit small. It's like the old Burger King commercial where the little old lady looks down at her hamburger and the bun is huge and the meat patty is small and she says that famous line..."Where's the beef?" That what I felt like saying! Lots of bun and veggies but light on the meat patty! Ok what do you guys think of this? I'm finished chomping on my burger (or more like I didn't want to eat all the bun that was left) I wiped my mouth with my napkin and I threw the napkin into the burger basket and I get ready to eat a bit more of my fries. The store manager who was walking around grabs my tray and dumps everything in the garbage and says thank you! My friend breaks out laughing and he says you deserve that throwing your napkin means you're finished your meal! I said the store manager should have asked me before grabbing my tray! I still had half the fries left! Ah as my friend says to me she's doing you a favor! You don't need to eat those extra fries! Yeah thanks a lot buddy!!! The food is probably 3.5 stars but I'm going to take away .5 of a star cuz I was not allowed to finish my fries! read more

Just for the milkshake, had the chocolate one, it's a pass. Literally no flavour, bland. after you've had Modern Burger or Smile's, it's a tough high standard to meet. Good addition to the area, at least skytrain ppl have some choice when they get off at Stadium. Smaller than its Denman, less action too. metered street parking along Beatty no problem. read more

Pretty good burger place in pretty good quality as well. The portions are huge so the pricing is relatively good. I paid $17 for a combo but they told me I could get a good deal if I get a veggie burger. It's a good experience if you're looking for something very fresh and very different from a big restaurant or a fast food restaurant. So it's right in the middle in terms of the burger joints in Canada or North America. read more

Personally I thought the place would be better. It wasn't terrible and their burger was decent. The only thing I got surprised on was the price. Almost $15 for a macho burger, regular soda and fries. I love burgers and stuffs but damn, for that amount of price, I could just go buy my own ground meat, fries and soda for nearly $25 to $30 and cook it myself and it would still taste about as good as theirs and there would've been a lot left over in the end. read more

Dine in - 3 stars Convenient location 1 min walk from stadium sky train station. If you are going to a Canucks game or concert this is a good place to grab a burger before hand. Friendly staff that are usually communicating in Tagalog with each other. Take out - 1.5 star First Take out - The bottom bun for my Cajun chicken burger was soaking wet. I couldn't even eat it, I simply ate the chicken and discarded the rest. I am guessing this was because I added pineapple but not a good experience having to throw out half your meal. Second takeout - I gave this place a second go today for takeout and have decided to eat in only from now on at this location. read more

Awesome shakes, burgers are good as well but most importantly the lady who helped us was so sweet and tentative to all the customers in the shop. Greeted as we walked in, checked how our meal was, just overall super sweet. That itself is worth fivestars read more

For proof that price affects taste, look no further than Fatburger. The prices are outrageous for the quality, and the whole experience will really make you reevaluate the A&W Teen Burger (particularly when it's priced at 2 for 6 dollars). Nothing to see here folks, move along. Actually the fries were halfway decent. Had I paid half what I paid I would have given this place three stars. read more

This place is not too bad, the burgers are not bad, and the fries quite good, but for the price - way overpriced for what you get. I got a groupon for $13 for 2 burgers with cheddar cheese and 2 skinny fries. I ordered a gravy and a soda and was charged an additional $4 for a total of $17, really? With one drink? And this is with a groupon, wow, me thinks it's a little too much for the money. read more

My nearly $10 burger that I ordered from Fat burger wasn't very fat at all. It was okay I guess but they should either beef up their burgers to match their store name or just change it completely. They did have a big selection of beers on tap from what I could tell, but I was too scared to look at the price of a pint. I think your better off going to Vera's or white spot. read more

I've been to Fatburger before in Calgary and was not impressed but I needed to eat and there was tables I could sit and read the paper at so thought I would give them a try. Last time. I won't be back. Too expensive for what you get and the burger was as tasteless as I've ever had. Exactly what I remember thinking about the one in Calgary. read more

OK, so, here's what you need to know, because this is a good place but you need to approach it a certain way. 1) Buy a beef burger, and only a beef burger. Don't go here specifically for a chicken burger or for anything else. It'll be good, but it won't be great, or anything special. 2) Buy a beef burger, and only a beef burger. Do not buy fries or a drink or a milkshake. They're overpriced and you'll feel ripped off. Onion rings are a nice treat, but that's the only side I'd recommend. Supply your own drink and you'll have a good time. I live nearby, so when I go here, I get a burger for takeout, bring it home, get my own drink, and the burgers are big so a burger by itself fills me up (and I have a big stomach). 3) Load up on free toppings. There's a list of available toppings on the counter in front of the register. Don't be afraid to be picky about customization and take advantage of the free offerings. Free toppings include stuff like jalapenos and onion rings and special sauce. 4) If you want premium toppings, like cheese, bacon, and guacamole, look over the Specialty Burgers and see if anything there suits your fancy. Going for a Specialty Burger is a little cheaper than making the same burger with the premium toppings add-ons. I love the California Burger, which comes with guacamole, bacon, and pepperjack cheese. The Old Style Bacon Cheddar Burger is also really good. Don't forget to load up on free toppings with these too! 5) Take advantage of the promotions. If you go here often enough, take a stamp card, which will give you a free burger for every six burgers you buy. Every day, there's a Daily Special, and some of them are pretty good. Mondays is the best one, Monday Madness where you can get a burger and fries for cheaper than usual. This is the only time I'd get fries. I give this place three stars because you need to take such a narrow approach with it. But, if you're OK with the recommendations I've listed here, you can get enough value out of it that I think it's pretty good. The burgers here really are great, and I love avocado so much that I'm down for anywhere that'll put guacamole on my burger. If getting a burger without fries seems like sacrilege to you though, don't bother going here. The fries and drink is where they really try to nail your wallet. read more

Killing some time at lunch waiting for an event at the nearby Vancouver Playhouse Theatre. This Fatburger is one block from there so tried it after hearing a few people liked the burgers from this chain. Easily found it, right next to Ricky's Grill and the skytrain station. Has some outdoor patio seating next to a terraced grass hill with cement seating you can also sit on (I think). Indoors there are around 4 booths and a few other tables. Came at noon on a Thursday afternoon and easily found seating. Menu is easy to read and lots of nice graphics. Only thing that was confusing was the burger types were easy to figure out but the extras like fries and drink seemed not that intuitive to order. Order at the counter, pay, they give you a number and drink cups where you fill it yourself and it is bottomless so you can drink a lot! Find a table and they bring the food out to you when ready. Youngest had the kids mini-hamburger meal. Good quantity for the price. Unfortunately had a hard time understanding the staff so the burger came plain, cheese, burger and bun, you had a specify the condiments and toppings when you order. I thought it would come with some basic toppings so didn't pay attention when it came and my daughter griped a bit after. Oh well.. Other daughter had the Original fatburger with everything but onions. I expected to specify toppings on this one so asked for everything but onions. She was happy with the burger. I had a dripping mess of a burger called the Hawaiian cheeseburger. Very tasty, loved the meat, but so much sauce it became a drippy tasty mess after a few bites. Maybe 1/2 the sauce and it would have been perfect. Also got the fries, good, but nothing to write home about. Would give the burgers 4* for quality and price. Took off a star for the over-sauced specialty burger and the hard to understand counter-staff person who was pleasant enough but I just didn't really know if I was getting what I had ordered by the end evidenced by the plain kids hamburger. Oh well, would visit again and now I know what to order, won't have to rely on the staff to explain. read more

I truly do not understand the appeal of a place named 'Fatburger.' I get that the burger is *meant* to be huge but why not a more positive adjective? Massive, beefy, burly or even corpulent would have been an improvement... Poor choices in terms of burgers; even for a fast food joint. read more

For what I spent on this burger, I was expecting it to actually taste good. I had pretty high expectations about this place, after hearing so many people talk it up, so I finally went in for myself. I was quite disappointed with the burger... the fries were fantastic, but that's about it. I would have much preferred spending my $15 on something I would have enjoyed. Probably won't be going back read more

I love this place! Ignoring the fact that I'm from California, I've eaten at this Fatburger multiple times and my food was always hot and tasted good. The fries are cooked to just the right crispness. Even when I get my order to go I'm given a generous proportion if fries and my order is still hot by the time I get home. It does have a major problem with seating. During lunch or dinner it's standing room only. But that's my only complaint. read more

I wished that we had Dick's in Vancouver. Well, maybe not because then I'd probably be fat. I have burgers as a real once-in-a-while treat and last time I had these burgers needless to say I was seriously disappointed. For the amount of money (almost $15) I dropped I expected some effing delicious and outrageous burgers. Did I get it? Hell no. I did get a very mediocre burger. Tell me fatburger, why would I waste my precious calories, fat contents, meat consumption, and money on your mediocre burgers? Go back to Cali, fatburger you hella lame. read more

Came here yesterday for lunch since I was in the area. Wasn't craving burgers so I had chicken tenders. Yes, I had chicken at a burger joint. The combo came with fries, drink, and a choice of dip. The tenders were very crispy and definitely made to order as it was very hot, Which is also the downside. I probably waited nearly 10 minutes for the meal, which I feel is a little too long for a semi-fast food joint. The food was not worth the wait. It was probably 3 out of 5 at best. I think there was only two people working, the cook and cashier, despite it being the peak lunch period. It's probably safe to say I won't be back anytime soon. read more

Blechh. Got towed in here by a couple of pleading kiddie-trons. Thought to myself: how bad could it be? Well...after: - biting into an awful fatless, processed gristle-puck meat patty, - paying extra for fake cheese-like protoplasm, and - exchanging my rancid onion rings for refried french fry fragments ...I regretted turning my nose up at McDonalds. UghhHH. Never ever again. read more

There's not a whole lot on the menu- a few types of burgers, and 3 chicken options, and the standard burger sides. But hey this is a burger joint- so what do you expect (don't bring your vegetarian friends here!). The burgers are good, but I usually get the spicy chicken sandwich. It's good chicken in buffalo sauce. Has a nice zing to it. But is it really an $8 sandwich? Couldn't I go to a casual restaurant and get a burger AND a side for that price? So price is definitely the thing I dislike the most here- but in all honesty it's not that different from Vera's (another great burger place that I disagree with the prices). The shakes are great. I usually try to convince a friend to share one with me. Yumm: rich and topped with whip cream. Currently they have an Oreo shake (limited time). Though it looks good- so far I've only had the Chocolate. In true diner style- I wish they served the shakes in those big metal cups. If you're a shake person, you should definitely stop in to try one. For those who would prefer beer- they have that. In the bottle, they have: Corona, Heineken, and Stella. Not sure what they have on tap. Dinner time (except game nights) it's easy to find a seat. Lunch time is never a sure bet- sometimes it is empty and sometimes it's full. They do have a small patio available (but I didn't see any heaters. Brr!). read more

Geez, 19 unfinished reviews sitting in my account. *rolls up sleeves* It's a burger joint and decently priced, but it just didn't seem worth it. I love the burgers at Red Robin (and their 1300 calories), but the burgers here were just lacking that little sumthin sumthin. A bit dry and crumbly but still oozing oil into the paper and a bit thin on all the topics left me filling up with my chocolate shake. We got a california burger and man food steak burger - while the steak burger was definitely larger than the cali, it didn't seem to be what I'd consider man food. The husband ate it up and just sat there, refilling his drink for hours on end while I finished my meal. I don't think he was full. Thank goodness for free drink refills! But if you're looking for a good shake, here's your place. The shakes here a delish, and totally good for the money. They've got tons of flavours to boot, though I stuck with the tried and true chocolate. In conclusion, it's not the best joint around - but it's definitely trying. If they built their patties a bit bigger, they might suddenly be in the win. read more

The Fatburger at Dunsmuir is in a fantastic location, serving the crowds amassing for concerts and sports events at GM Place and BC Place. Unfortunately, it will serve you better to go when you've a bit of a light beer head...y'know how street pizza always tastes like gold when you're tipsy? Same idea here. I had a turkey burger and it was rather indistinguishable from any other meat, my boyfriend's bun tasted what he could only describe as 'earthy'. I don't need to tell you that that isn't what you look for in a burger. The service and fries were good, but the burgers left something to be desired. Go next door to Ricky's next time....unless you've had a beer or 4. read more

Way, way pricier than I expected, not gonna lie. Got an Oreo shake, fries and a mushroom Swiss burger. The shake was a little thin and the fries were good but average. The cheese on my burger felt a little plasticky but the mushrooms were shockingly good. They gave me a lot and they were well cut, not wilted and gross or anything. They had really good flavor and admittedly, I'll probably go back because it's so close to my place. Not my first choice, but it's there. read more

I can't stop coming to this place for a good burger and an ice cold bear. One of the best places in town to have a burger. Thumbs up

I'm not sure why people are being so hard on this place with the low ratings. I found the food to be excellent (cheddar burger and fries were great), the staff was extremely friendly and hospitable until the end, the atmosphere was good and the facilities and the restaurant in general were clean. Management clearly is on a path to make this the best burger joint in Vancouver, and I appreciate that. Date rating 2 out of 5 (it is a fast food restaurant after all). read more

I downloaded this app just to review this place to warn others. DO NOT GO HERE. I love Fatburger, always have and go to a location in Victoria often. This was my first time at this one, and I got very bad food poisoning as the bacon on my Canadian burger was barely cooked. When I threw it up back at the hotel a few hours later, I discovered it was basically RAW bacon. Not only did I have horrible food poisoning, but the staff were not super friendly and since we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time, and it was the only meal they were cooking, you'd think they'd remember to cook the bacon?? Every other Fatburger is great except this one, please just don't go here or if you do request they treat you better and inspect your food thoroughly before chowing down. read more

overall: ** food: ** service: *** environment: *** price: *** I'm a regular at Vera's, but thought I'd change it up one night. What can I say? I should've stuck with Vera's! I just went with a Fat Burger and Fries, and you know, it wasn't that bad, but it wasn't good either. I can't put my finger on it, but their burgers are just missing something... perhaps it's the fat? Who knows. And the fries are the standard pre-processed type, nothing special. The staff are reasonable, and the restaurant is more roomy than Vera's, but I just didn't feel satisfied after eating there. Sorry Fatburger, but you just ain't phat. read more

Disappointing. If you think the only thing wrong with McDonalds is the meat in the burgers, then you might like it, but that's about as far as it goes. The cheese is the same cloying fatty nonsense, the other dressings are pretty much the same, and the buns are very ordinary. The ambience is pure McD's. Absolutely not worth it. read more

burger-wise, the one burger that comes with avocado is my favourite. i love anything that comes with avocado really. the burgers are pretty decent too, because they're not like... mcdonalds burgers, they are actually legit burgers that tastes like you barbecued them yourself at home. i'm really picky actually when it comes to burgers, but these make the cut. and 2 oz. $6 margaritas? you really can't beat that. the fries are pretty good, but the onion rings suck. beware of the seasoning salt, it's really good, but it just FLOODS out when you shake it out, so you have to do it carefully unless you want a sodium overdose. their patio is tiny, but actually gets quite a bit of sun, even in the late-afternoons right after work... really nice to go for an after-work drink (re: $6 margaritas!!) and a burger. read more
