Great little place right near the water. The Top Gun is pretty special. Those potato scoops are the shizzle and beat tortilla chips every day, all day. Food was alright, decent value. However, I'm not sure why, but the service for us was terrible. Table that came in after us had the attention of every server the entire time. Every single thing we needed (including the drinks we ordered at the start) needed to flag someone down to accomplish it. One of the times I caught the eye of a server and she just said "ITS COMING". Amazing, I didn't know she could read my mind (she couldn't, I wanted some dipping sauces.) And now, we've been visibly done for 15 minutes an still not one time has a server voluntarily come to check on the table. I've been waiting for the bill long enough that I have written this entire review while waiting. Update. Absolutely delicious chicken. The chicken sandwich is simple, but of huge portions and balanced very well. The sauce on a chicken sandwich is so important, and this one nails it. The piece de resistance is definitely the fries, however. Some of the best I've ever had for a burger, and definitely the most unique! Truffle fries are the BOMB here. Wonderful and full of flavour. I'm not a burger guy and didn't have them but my son had the XD and said it's really good but SPICY. Watch out. I know the establishment is known for their burgers, but will have to try that next time. Instead we ordered the following: Birria Tacos (to die for, incredible) Philly Cheesesteak (delicious and loved the spicy kick it had) Steak Frites (oui, oui, so good!) Service was so quick which was surprising for how busy the restaurant was on a Monday night! I didn't even get a chance to take pics of the interior because I was too busy stuffing my face. Their signature cheesesteak was packed full of beef and cheese but honestly speaking, the group favourite was their chicken burgers! Their (fried) chicken burgers come with two massive pieces of fried chicken thighs (chicken breast is also an option), which are both crispy and juicy. The XD is the perfect combination of textures: a crispy/chewy smashed patty, the fluffy bun, and the creamy contents make for a VERY satisfying (and spicy) burger that looks huge but will be gone before you know it. OMG! This is by far the best cheesesteak I've ever had. They use ribeye for the meat and you can taste the truly great quality of meat. We grabbed take out. We got the Classic Burger, Vonns Special Cheesesteak, and Truffle Fries. The restaurant seemed spacious and inviting. They had hand sanitizer at the middle of the restaurant. It felt adequately socially distanced. This place is halal. The Classic Burger was a saucy burger. I think the main sauce was thousand island sauce. There were lots of caramelized onions underneath the top bun. Having worked at A&W, it felt like a gourmet A&W Teen Burger. Overall, I approve. As for the Vonns Special, combining the crispy onion along with the ribeye beef gave me a greasy feeling in my stomach. The grilled peppers were there to try to balance it out, but it wasn't quite enough. Banana peppers and their tangy-ness I find really help with cheesesteaks (at least the ones I've tried in Philly). Regardless, I would say it's very good in terms of flavour considering it's difficult to find good cheesesteaks in Vancouver. As for the Truffle Fries, it was shaped was more like chips.
