Had a great time watching the Masters. Service was excellent as was the atmosphere. Lots of TV's. Food was as expected. The manager runs a good business. Will be back.

Pickleback shots. The whiskey was super watered down, and tasted like nothing.

I came here with my husband for some drinks to end our night before heading home. The place was super crowded considering Covid restrictions. We were sat a table outside since inside was full. The table was still dirty from whoever sat there before, I sprayed it down with my own alcohol. I ordered a jalapeño margarita, it only tasted like sour mix on ice. My husband had a Strongbow cider which was not cold. We decided to order pickleback shots, one of our favorites...big mistake. The whiskey was so watered down and tasted like nothing, so disappointing. We told our server about it and he said it was Jameson, that was definitely a lie. I aldo used the restroom which was really dirty and smelled terrible. Completely disappointed with my experience here and will not go back.

Finally got here early enough to snag "OK" seats for the Pats game. I say just OK because while there were ample TVs playing the game (with the sound on - love!), the way the high-tops and low-tops are laid out (high-tops in front, lows behind and two steps down) mean that there's little to no good viewing available from the outdoors seats. Simple suggestion to the bar: maybe switch the two -- that way all three rows get good viewing and everyone is happy. While we were waiting for the game to start, we saw three separate parties sit then leave in the table by us because of the viewing issue. One quarter in, we are standing up during key plays to see the game over the front rows' heads. With few bars playing the Pats game with sound, we just deal with this annoyance but honestly the quick fix would make a world of difference! Food is decent/typical for a sports bar and appreciate the $19/bucket of beers, though limited to Bud Light and Miller. This place gets jammed for Football Sunday when the weather is nice, so plan accordingly!

Bouncer tried to break real ID this Friday night. Highly disappointed in this establishment.

I like this place. I came here w my bf on Sat night. The vibes and music were just right. Beers were pretty standard, but a few more options than other bars. Food was not great tho. I ordered Salsa & Guac, my bf ordered beef burger. Both of us barely ate...

Since my last visit, I had only ventured there once for a drink, but it had been far from a first choice. I loved that they had live music and a casual vibe, but my past culinary experience had been a letdown. However, I was very pleasantly surprised on my recent excursion. We grabbed seats at the rustic bar and enjoyed friendly service and pints of Kane Head High, my favorite beer. The crisp, refreshing brew went well with my cup of Chicken Noodle Soup. While that might sound like an odd "snack", I selected it because it was one of the few appetizers on the menu that was not fried. The broth seemed to interestingly be made of tomatoes and potentially other vegetables. It was packed with large, spiral noodles, shredded chicken, and fresh spinach. It was an interesting rendition for sure, but it was also very tasty, despite the fact that it was rather greasy. I was also bummed that it did not have more chicken and that it had not been served with any crackers. Oh well! Overall, it at least had left me with a much better impression than my last trip had.

A mid-80s Mets obsessive who yearns for the days of Mookie Wilson and Bob Murphy, I haven't kept up with baseball so much in recent years. That all-star game tie and DH in the NL didn't appeal to me so much. Game 7 of the World Series provided an opportunity for me to be a "normal American" and watch the game at the bar. But I didn't want to buy $80 of drinks so I figured I'd try for inning 6 and beyond and get the finale. So the plan was Cork City for part and maybe another for the ending. The game was on many TVs, caught that cool double play. The sound was on but the talking kind of drowned it out, which seemed less than ideal. However, after I left, none of the 30-ish bars I walked past even had the sound on! So much for all the "sports bars" in this town. (To be fair: it was Halloween weekend, and business decisions to appeal to 20-something women in lingerie and their admirers may have been a factor). After going to 14th and back I was ready to enjoy extra innings at Cork City. But they were at capacity. Game Over. Yes, I'm copping to my inexperience in Hoboken bar-going. Turns out Cork City offered the best baseball experience in town. As for the bar itself, I enjoyed the Peach Fuzz cider from Pennings. The service was friendly. I'll try again on an off-peak night. My plan didn't work out but at least I got some steps in and learned that many sports fans are liars.

I've lived in Hoboken my entire life and have watched bars succeed or fail based on one simple…read moreprinciple: how they treat their customers. Unfortunately, this establishment has a bartender who seems determined to test that theory every shift she works. Rude, hostile, confrontational, and openly unwelcoming, she creates an uncomfortable atmosphere for anyone who isn't part of her preferred circle. I've watched customers get treated poorly simply because they rubbed her the wrong way. When a bartender's attitude becomes the most memorable part of the experience, that's a problem. I've ignored it before, but after repeated incidents directed at both me and my boyfriend, it's clear this isn't a bad day, it's a pattern. In Hoboken, customers have dozens of bars within walking distance. Hospitality isn't optional; it's survival. Making paying customers feel unwelcome is a bold strategy in a town where people can easily take their money elsewhere. Management should remember who actually keeps the lights on. Customers are hard to replace. Bartenders aren't. If this is the culture you're choosing to tolerate, don't be surprised when people choose to spend their money somewhere they're actually welcomed. Please, Do better.

There was only one other family dining, and the space stayed empty the entire time. The service was genuinely great. Friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, and a really cute, cozy space. I especially loved the Christmas décor and overall vibe--it felt warm and inviting. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the prices. The house salad was $13 and honestly one of the most basic, smallest, and most boring salads I've ever had--very underwhelming for the cost. We also ordered quesadillas, a cheeseburger with fries, and grilled cheese with tomato soup. My son enjoyed the burger and fries, and the quesadillas were flavorful, generously filled with chicken and veggies, and came with sour cream, pico, and guac. The tomato soup was tasty, while the grilled cheese was just okay. One small but appreciated detail: canned soda. Cold, crisp, and not flat which is always a win. Lunch for 3 came in just under $100, which felt high given what we received. One frustration was being seated in a tight corner right next to the kitchen even though the dining room was completely empty. We were so close I could literally see into the kitchen and count items on the shelves. On top of that, the hostess repeatedly walked by calling out "corner," which became distracting and honestly a bit irritating. Overall, I liked the vibe, but the food-to-price ratio missed the mark for me. It wasn't bad--just alright.

If you had any question that this place is an Irish pub, you will receive the answer with a big Irish and Jameson flag draped proudly as you enter the bar. We love that leashed and friendly dogs are allowed, but only before the night life begins, so get there when they open to enjoy a drink from their full bar, play pool, watch the game, bring your own food, and meet some super cool people. There is a space up front with one bar and a back room with another bar, so plenty of space to enjoy some dog friendly fun! When you get inside, it has a bar in the front and huge dancefloor in the back with a live DJ performing. The bartenders serve pretty quickly, but that may be due to people not buying drinks frequently or a result of the young crowd that is typically here. They started tacking on a fee for credit card payments also. So, you might want to go with cash. Overall, the Shannon is a good party option if you like Hip Hop and are cool with the young and hood crowd. However, since they charge a bunch of fees that other bars in Hoboken don't it loses stars - after all, it's just a dive bar.
