    Must try cider!

Excellent service from the owner and waiters. Loved all of the drink selections. Nice patio of outdoor dining that has a bonus feature of being able to be closed off if it rains so that you can still enjoy the space. Also, there were a few tvs outside to enjoy the sports games. The food is just ok nothing special. Tried the buffalo chicken tenders with fries. Not sure where the chicken was in that tender. Waaayy too much breading/coating. Fries was basic. Just covered them in sauce to eat them.

Ferryman is a comfortable place for families! Irish pub, so a good place for a great happy hour without the "young crowd." Menu has sandwiches, wings, and burgers. This menu is not too health or vegan conscious; but hey! It's an Irish pub! With that being said, I ordered the boneless wings. TV's all around, always playing the most popular sports game, ChiveTV, and a mix of other sports. Dart boards to play on, too!

My group picked this spot because we had just come in from NYC and wanted to grab food and drinks that were close to the Hoboken Terminal. There was a nice blend of people in the bar so whether you're white, black, queer, or going for a ladies night, you'll feel comfortable at this place. A big plus!! You have to walk to the bar to place your food and drink orders that will be delivered to your table. The drinks were good and the food was decent. There weren't any superstars but the food was solid for bar eats. Everything was appropriately priced for a night out.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon - great outdoor seating and vibe. Plenty of beer options and typical pub menu. I ordered the burger and my buddy the club. the food was good ( not great ) and the service and very good . There are a lot of bar food options in Hoboken , this is a decent option but I do believe there are better ones close by.

Only place open on Xmas Eve and they were out of a lot of stuff on menu, so I got chicken tacos to go. Went home to find Scrambled EGG TACOS WITH HASH BROWNS!!! GROSS. I'm bringing them back to them. Horrible.

Hoboken is pretty saturated with dive bars that play off the Irish theme (Shannon, McSwiggins, Willie McBride's, Moran's, etc), and Ferryman would fall in this category. This actually replaced Marty O'Brien's, which I did like. I came in as a means of finding temporary shelter (and a cocktail) during a bad downpour. The place was virtually empty, which I found surprising considering it was technically happy hour. I ordered a Tito's and soda, which was alright. That's one thing that this place can do right is basic bar drinks. The bartender was friendly enough. As for the food, there's definitely room for improvement. My boyfriend and I ordered shredded chicken nachos and sliders. The nachos were cold with cheese having already congealed to the chips, rather than warm and gooey, and the chicken was especially dry and bland; definitely needed some seasoning and spice (needless to say, I used up all my salsa to get some much needed flavor). The slightly were slightly better, although there was an odd flavor I couldn't pinpoint (my boyfriend thought it was okay). Fries were flavorful, but on the soggy side. Service was alright as a whole. Overall, while this is an okay spot to grab a drink or two, I definitely think this place could benefit from stronger menu options and food quality, either by limiting the number of dishes to focus on making a few really high quality items, changing the menu entirely in order to differentiate themselves from other bars, or being a bar that focuses on cheap, easy drinks (a la Mike's on River St.).

Sam is the best bartender I've ever had and clearly understands the menu considering the recommendation for the garlic pretzel sticks. Some of the softest perfect pretzels that remind me of a little league baseball game. 5/5 would recommend and definitely ask for Sam to walk you through the beer, bourbon, or food lists.

Since my last visit, I had only ventured there once for a drink, but it had been far from a first choice. I loved that they had live music and a casual vibe, but my past culinary experience had been a letdown. However, I was very pleasantly surprised on my recent excursion. We grabbed seats at the rustic bar and enjoyed friendly service and pints of Kane Head High, my favorite beer. The crisp, refreshing brew went well with my cup of Chicken Noodle Soup. While that might sound like an odd "snack", I selected it because it was one of the few appetizers on the menu that was not fried. The broth seemed to interestingly be made of tomatoes and potentially other vegetables. It was packed with large, spiral noodles, shredded chicken, and fresh spinach. It was an interesting rendition for sure, but it was also very tasty, despite the fact that it was rather greasy. I was also bummed that it did not have more chicken and that it had not been served with any crackers. Oh well! Overall, it at least had left me with a much better impression than my last trip had.

A mid-80s Mets obsessive who yearns for the days of Mookie Wilson and Bob Murphy, I haven't kept up with baseball so much in recent years. That all-star game tie and DH in the NL didn't appeal to me so much. Game 7 of the World Series provided an opportunity for me to be a "normal American" and watch the game at the bar. But I didn't want to buy $80 of drinks so I figured I'd try for inning 6 and beyond and get the finale. So the plan was Cork City for part and maybe another for the ending. The game was on many TVs, caught that cool double play. The sound was on but the talking kind of drowned it out, which seemed less than ideal. However, after I left, none of the 30-ish bars I walked past even had the sound on! So much for all the "sports bars" in this town. (To be fair: it was Halloween weekend, and business decisions to appeal to 20-something women in lingerie and their admirers may have been a factor). After going to 14th and back I was ready to enjoy extra innings at Cork City. But they were at capacity. Game Over. Yes, I'm copping to my inexperience in Hoboken bar-going. Turns out Cork City offered the best baseball experience in town. As for the bar itself, I enjoyed the Peach Fuzz cider from Pennings. The service was friendly. I'll try again on an off-peak night. My plan didn't work out but at least I got some steps in and learned that many sports fans are liars.

There was only one other family dining, and the space stayed empty the entire time. The service was genuinely great. Friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, and a really cute, cozy space. I especially loved the Christmas décor and overall vibe--it felt warm and inviting. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the prices. The house salad was $13 and honestly one of the most basic, smallest, and most boring salads I've ever had--very underwhelming for the cost. We also ordered quesadillas, a cheeseburger with fries, and grilled cheese with tomato soup. My son enjoyed the burger and fries, and the quesadillas were flavorful, generously filled with chicken and veggies, and came with sour cream, pico, and guac. The tomato soup was tasty, while the grilled cheese was just okay. One small but appreciated detail: canned soda. Cold, crisp, and not flat which is always a win. Lunch for 3 came in just under $100, which felt high given what we received. One frustration was being seated in a tight corner right next to the kitchen even though the dining room was completely empty. We were so close I could literally see into the kitchen and count items on the shelves. On top of that, the hostess repeatedly walked by calling out "corner," which became distracting and honestly a bit irritating. Overall, I liked the vibe, but the food-to-price ratio missed the mark for me. It wasn't bad--just alright.
