Finnegan's Pub is a fantastic place to spend a casual evening with friends - a neighborhood vibes with a laidback atmosphere, great beer list with rotating taps, good food and servicw, live bands, pool table, dart boards, lot of TVs indoor, cool outdoor space with a TV - great for any type of sports games. On our recent visit, we sat in their sidewalk cafe, ordered few beers, spicy margarita and nachos to share. Margarita was one of the best I ever had - pretty well balanced. We had a great time and definitely recommend this bar.

Try the Reuben Sliders! Thank me later wow! Came here for some drinks and simple bar food for the night. I enjoyed the great atmosphere of the restaurant, everyone was very social and seemed to know each other! It's a pretty standard Irish bar. We had ordered the mild wings which were pretty tasty and as expected for bar food. The bangers and mash was pretty good, I was glad that the menu had offered some more Irish specific cuisine. However let me save you some time, get the Reuben sliders...wow! The buns are buttered and toasted to perfection, paired with the gooey cheese and tender corned beef. My jaw actually dropped as I bit in. I definitely will be coming back for some more good times...and some more sliders.

Live music, food, and drinks: need I say more? Came here for the first time with a few friends, didn't know what to expect from a bar in Hoboken in a Friday night. I had an okay experience. It wasn't so crowded which was why I enjoyed myself so much. The bartenders weren't the friendliest but I was there for the food not for them. Once you order the food and drinks come out pretty quickly. There's no table service so don't expect someone waiting on you the entire night. They drop off the food and run away. The food tasted good, we had the wings, spinach dip, and cheese fries. I needed ketchup but as I said, they dropped off and ran away. The food was tasty. Especially the wings and spin dip. The beer was cold, cocktails weren't strong, wine was just right. I would stick to the beer or wine. $10min to order anything from the bar and pay with a credit card. The back area has a pool table and darts. Darts need $10 cash deposit to play, I'm not sure if pool was free or not. Live music is a nice touch, the band playing that night was pretty awesome! I enjoyed my self overall, hope you do too!!!

This place checks all the boxes when choosing a bar: cheap beer, rotating taps (something seasonal always on deck), bomb nachos, and they turn off the music to live stream Jeopardy every night. I'm not sure if I even need to say anything else. They also have some bar games pool and darts in the back. I feel like this place has all the things you love about a dive bar without the negatives of a dive bar (no beer soaked carpets, no funky smells). There's a few high top tables and the bar itself is pretty long. Groups vary from the after work happy crowd to the regulars who probably stop in for a drink every night. Bartender makes an effort to make conversation and the service waitress if you sit at a table are always really friendly and never let your glass go empty. Perfect spot to grab a drink while planning your move for the night.. or to grab too many drinks and end up spending your night here.

The decor was nice but not nice enough to get me to go back when it's so tiny. There were probably 4 tables max and these aren't regular tables they're coffee shop tables. It gave cafe. There's also a whole other bar at the back but I guess they don't use it. Even though we made reservations we were told there's no seating left (clearly) and could only sit at the bar. Not sure why there's even reservations. Should just be walk-in only. The bar was empty so we just sat down and grabbed a drink each. The bartenders were very friendly and cracked a lot of jokes. I ordered the Seasonal Spritz while my friend got the Sugar Cookie Martini. We were surprised by how good the drinks were. I actually preferred her drink. It was definitely sweet though! I don't think I'll be back but it was nice to experience.

This time, my friend and I found ourselves in the township of North Bergen which neither of us had been to before. After we secured seating, they were kind and patient enough to offer free samples to my friend who wasn't an IPA drinker. Afterwards, I continuously approached the bar to place an order during our stay. There wasn't any table service, so on each trip I returned our empties. Everything was no-frills straightforward which was fine with us - all was good! PARKING (FREE; N/A this instance) We took the light rail to Tonnelle Ave. Station and walked about 10 minutes along a busy street into a somewhat industrial area. They didn't have an onsite lot. Otherwise, there appeared to be plenty of spots along the main drag of 43rd St., the major thoroughfare of Tonnelle Ave., and nearby surrounding side streets - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A no-frills somewhat cavernous industrial warehouse where you walked through a door within a drop-down metal garage door, you were immediately staring at the brewing tanks. The bar area was off to the right with several high barrel tables, a handful of stools at the bar, and a chalkboard menu https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=nJg33bmX7AUR7f4gzEhgTQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw up on the wall. There was an uncomfortable hot dankness in the air. Natural lighting only entered once the garage door was opened while soul-sucking fluorescent electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were muted TVs while rock music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=rblApp3OACOCC_PN48XKnQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL I was happy to try New Jersey Brewing Co., and I would consider another visit at least to try the rest of their beers. However, their tap list was limited both in quantity and variety. They were very heavy on the IPAs which wasn't my favorite. Unfortunately, there wasn't any onsite food (some snacks) or trucks (BYOF style). And, they appeared to be family and pet-friendly. They had comparable prices and adequate service. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $54.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS

Since my last visit, I had only ventured there once for a drink, but it had been far from a first choice. I loved that they had live music and a casual vibe, but my past culinary experience had been a letdown. However, I was very pleasantly surprised on my recent excursion. We grabbed seats at the rustic bar and enjoyed friendly service and pints of Kane Head High, my favorite beer. The crisp, refreshing brew went well with my cup of Chicken Noodle Soup. While that might sound like an odd "snack", I selected it because it was one of the few appetizers on the menu that was not fried. The broth seemed to interestingly be made of tomatoes and potentially other vegetables. It was packed with large, spiral noodles, shredded chicken, and fresh spinach. It was an interesting rendition for sure, but it was also very tasty, despite the fact that it was rather greasy. I was also bummed that it did not have more chicken and that it had not been served with any crackers. Oh well! Overall, it at least had left me with a much better impression than my last trip had.

There was another item that they were sold out, but it escapes me at the time. It just felt like a place that is an upscale British pub, to be out of fish and chips is inexcusable. With that said, I pivoted and got the special which was a full English breakfast and it was absolutely delicious. And the portion size was massive! We also got the Irish soda bread to start and it was so delicious. I will admit that while I was not able to get what I wanted, I was able to get a meal that was absolutely amazing. However, I also know that the full English was a special and won't always be an option. The staff was very friendly.
