I've watched customers get treated poorly simply because they rubbed her the wrong way. When a bartender's attitude becomes the most memorable part of the experience, that's a problem. I've ignored it before, but after repeated incidents directed at both me and my boyfriend, it's clear this isn't a bad day, it's a pattern. In Hoboken, customers have dozens of bars within walking distance. Hospitality isn't optional; it's survival. Making paying customers feel unwelcome is a bold strategy in a town where people can easily take their money elsewhere. Management should remember who actually keeps the lights on. Customers are hard to replace. Bartenders aren't. If this is the culture you're choosing to tolerate, don't be surprised when people choose to spend their money somewhere they're actually welcomed. This man walked out of cork city and was incredibly emotional. Threatening to fight anyone that talked to him. A woman took exception and called him out to which this drunk man proceeded to elbow the woman in the chest (her husband was a coward and didn't do anything). After this the customers at the bar were extremely upset and called the police. Ten minutes later the police showed up and walked the man to the opposite corner. This is where the management/security at Cork City showed their true colors. The Cork City employee (it was said that he was the owner but not sure if that is true) was overheard saying that the person that called the police in the bar would never be allowed back. Cork City itself never called the police to deal with this drunk lunatic. After another 30 minutes it became clear that this man was going to be let off scot-free. The customers outside started to grow restless at this fact and yelled to the police officers that they all witnessed the man assault a woman. During this time to Cork City representative told us that he did not see anything. Everyone outside saw what happened and he refused to hold the drunk man accountable. He was too worried about serving beers and his reputation than ensure the safety of others. This is disgraceful and I would hope nobody that knows this information ever gives them another dime. If you are looking for somewhere to get a nice chill drink in this area I would highly recommend Louise and Jerry's! Much better spot to enjoy a drink.

When you first walk into the bar you're hit the smell of a freshly cleaned environment. No sticky bar tops. There's a fun jukebox, everyone played their favorite songs and even sang out loud. Instead of simply saying, "Hey, the entrance is around the other side," the bouncer immediately started yelling at us, asking if we were dumb, and acting like we had stormed the place. Meanwhile, another employee was literally putting a chain across that same entrance, so it had clearly just been open. The bouncer was on a pathetic power trip and seemed to get way too much satisfaction out of screaming at two women over an honest mistake. If your biggest accomplishment is acting tough as a bouncer, maybe it's time to reevaluate a few things.
