    a man at the bar

I've been coming here for now 7 yrs straight my favorite bar to go to when i want Drink especially an IPA the selection is always different. I can't recall a bar that has so many IPA's on tap. Then we have the owners George And Barb. They make you feel like family no matter if its your first time or a regular. I highly recommend who ever read this to go and see it for your self. George and Barb if you guys ever see this. Thank you for always making me feel like family everytime i come by. Jose..

Small but extremely welcoming and homey. There an extremely small lot that is available for parking after 8 pm. It's tied to the backdoor of the bar. Bar itself was well stocked with plenty of friendly locals built in as part of the permanent fixtures. While they only have 10~12 beers on tap, they were some of the better craft selections that I have seen as compared to many other places. They can give you little sample to try before committing to the big one. I actually had a really good Belgian style strong dark ale here that I haven't seen anywhere else so far. In addition to what's on top, they also have a large case full of bottles. Outside of beers, they also have a full bar and can make most mixed drinks if you're in the mood for that. Although they don't have a kitchen in house, the Mexican place next door does deliver. May try that combo out next time.

I can't believe I waited 7yrs to come to this bar. The bartender was very friendly and made us feel welcomed. The beer was crisp and fresh (if your a beer drinker you understand). Not sure if every beer comes with a pretzel but ours did and that's just the cutest detail for me.

Definitely a cool local bar to go and get a drink and socialize with friends. They have all kinds of liquors and beer. I had an Armeretto Sour which was made perfectly. The bartender was really cool and so were the patrons. The prices were responsible for as many drinks that we had. The bar is small but clean and has a laid back atmosphere. If I lived in the area I would be a local patron like the people in Cheers (tv show if you too young to know).

    Great crafts to try!

Andy's corner bar was really great. It had a large array of different age groups and was actually pretty crowded on a tuesday night. The bar feels like an Irish Pub gone classy. The craft beers are always a MAJOR plus to the place. not many small bars in the area offer a decent selection of craft brews. The bartender was really great, super friendly. They don't do food here as an FYI but they put a pretzel on each beer which I thought was a really cool touch to the place. The inside of the place is much nicer than you're initially anticipating. Really nice dark wood bar, and just the right amount of space for a pit stop or an all night enjoyment with the crowd. Keep in mind this bar is meant for you to go an enjoy your company, like you would of a decade or 2 ago. It has one small TV that wasn't even on and a music juke to play music from. Come here, grab a beer, put down your phone, and enjoy your company. I'll be back soon.

Pros: Rotating draft selection, tons of bottles (in and out of season), cozy, decent location, welcoming owner, free pretzels Cons: most of the people We came on a Saturday night, there was a mix of groups and couples, varying ages. We were stared at and pointed at by 3 people for the 2 hours we were there, they looked like dick heads. Possible reasons for their staring: they are dickheads or put $200 into the jukebox that was behind us and they were pointing everytime a new song came on; my bet is the former. Besides that, everything was cool, it's got a small town vibe, alot of tables and it's a BYOF, people brought trays of snacks and stuff. Drink Local!

From the exterior, I would think this dive only served Bud and Coors, but I was pleasantly surprised to find there was a great selection of craft brews. Andy's has a rotating draft selection as well as a case towards the back with plenty of other choices, both in and out of season. The bartender, George, is extremely knowledgable about the beers he has in stock. He even knew that the brewery for the beer he had suggested had moved from Harrisburg to Hershey, PA. He let me sample a few different beers, and ultimately made the perfect recommendation based on what I had described I wanted (which might I add is somewhat difficult as I am a girl after all) I loved each beer is served with a pretzel. Not only did I think it was cute, but also was perfect as I like to snack whilst I am drinking.

A late night discovery, thanks to George - put a big smile on my face :D

First off-the owners are so FRIENDLY and kind--you can talk to them about anything and they are happy to answer questions about any of the food and/or drinks. You can tell they love owning this place and meeting customers. I have heard so much about the Pub and went for the first time yesterday with two friends. We had one of their rotating cask beers and one of their bitter regular casks which is a staple of the establishment-each beer was delicious and tasty! I had the vegan curry dish which was very tasty with veggies, rice and great spice. My friends had a dish similar to Shepherd's Pie but slightly different and cooked with more like steak stewed meat rather than lamb and we all licked our plates clean LOL. We also shared two of the desserts which were vanilla ice cream with some type of coconut cookie in it and the other was vanilla ice cream with a yummy type of strawberry sauce I think. The atmosphere is so laid back as well-like traditional British Pubs you order your drinks and food at the bar and they deliver your food to your table with a number. You are able to sit wherever you would like and I hear it gets very packed for European football games. I can't wait until I get a chance to go again-there aren't a ton of food options being that I don't eat red meat-but I was able to find the curry and could also try the Fish and Chips which looked amazing and I have heard it is great. If you are in the area-stop by for a drink or two and you will not be disappointed-you feel like you are transported to England with these type of pub.

It was bright and sunny outside, but traditionally dark and well worn inside. You order at the bar and they bring everything to your table. Owners were very nice as you'd expect. I got their house bitter cask ale. Very good however please note this is close to room temperature than a typical cold beer; I personally love the style and this was a good example. My son doesn't understand that British people call fries chips, so we ended up having to get him French fries and potato chips. They luckily had the latter, even if they didn't have plain ones, so we got him ketchup-flavored chips that of course he proceeded to barely eat (they were actually good). He did like the French fries/British chips, and my wife liked her breakfast sandwich even if it was a bit heavy for her. My fish and chips were really freaking good. Sizable piece of fish (haddock), nice and crisp, with a ton of chips and lots of sauces (spicy mustard, vinegar, etc). Maybe not my favorite fish and chips ever, but it hit the spot. Would come back here in a heartbeat, especially where I could relax and drink a bit more. Completely understand why they are recognized as a top bar in the US.

But after I gave it another shot later, I realized they take online orders. The estimated time here does seem to be off though, as I showed up about 5 minutes before the ETA and it was already sitting around being less hot. So maybe estimate picking up even earlier than that. When I came, the place was packed, but it was a game night. The kitchen/pick up area is way in the back, but I will say, their hot pretzel is fantastic. The flavor itself is good and crunchy, but with the cheese sauce, it was truly delectable. It was just pure thick cheddary liquid goodness. It also came with a mustard if you're that sort, but just the combo of pretzel and cheese makes for such a good and quick snack. They also have a trivia night promotion, so I'm interested in checking that out, but for bar food (even to go) is pretty solid.

We walked in and sat at the near-empty bar and were soon greeted by the bartender (woman with long brown hair), who also provided us with menus. After a few minutes, she circled back, and we ordered two glasses of water. Just seconds after ordering the waters, we were asked for ID. Unfortunately, I left my ID in my jacket, which I didn't have with me at the time, so I explained this to the bartender. We were then told that we could not sit and eat without ID (which I have never heard of in any restaurant I've been to... EVER). I left without making a big deal of it since I was hungry from my drive. Stopped here again on Saturday, May 16th, around 9 PM to meet up with friends before leaving Bloomfield for the night. We were told we could sit where we liked and were quickly attended to by one of the servers upon entry. I ordered a water, and my friend ordered the Six Points Burger with fries. This time, we were not carded until we decided to order beer/drinks. Additionally, there was a child in there, no older than 12 years old, eating with a parent/caregiver on this evening- ultimately proving the whole 'you need an ID to eat here' thing false... What can I say about Six Points after these two experiences?... There's a lively crowd in the evening times, and food seems decent, and it's in a prime location on Bloomfield Ave... but it's quite evident that (at least) one of their bartenders is prejudiced and seems to have issues with people of color simply trying to sit and order food. *I called Six Points on May 18th and asked to speak with a manager regarding my experience. I left my number with one of the employees who answered, and he also told me I would receive a call back- sadly, that never happened. To clarify, the employee acknowledged that my experience on April 18 should not have occurred, as I should have been allowed to order food. Lesson learned: Just go to Egans or Just Jakes in Montclair instead of Six Points Pub.

Don't disappear, please don't! The pub pulls a fantastic pint of Guinness, likely because the keg is directly under the bar and the beer travels very little distance into your glass. It's really amazing how wonderful and different the Guinness is when it's fresh and poured correctly. The bartender when we visited was very generous with information about the area and entertained us with stories and chit-chat about local events and the economy.
