Andy's is a great Beer bar. They have quite a variety of different tap beers and a menu of beers. There is no food here, but a pizza place a couple stores down. George and Barbara ( The owners) are knowledgeable and friendly. Not a huge place but they have a long bar and some tables and chairs. Small but extremely welcoming and homey. There an extremely small lot that is available for parking after 8 pm. It's tied to the backdoor of the bar. Bar itself was well stocked with plenty of friendly locals built in as part of the permanent fixtures. While they only have 10~12 beers on tap, they were some of the better craft selections that I have seen as compared to many other places. They can give you little sample to try before committing to the big one. I actually had a really good Belgian style strong dark ale here that I haven't seen anywhere else so far. In addition to what's on top, they also have a large case full of bottles. Outside of beers, they also have a full bar and can make most mixed drinks if you're in the mood for that. We came in for a drink on Saint Patty's Day this year. The place was pretty empty but those that were there you could tell were locals that consistently come back. I was told this place was a staple to the neighborhood and had to go. We sat right away and the waitress came right over. She was friendly. We only stayed for one drink, as we had a few other spots to hit up. We had some IPAs and lagers. Definitely a cool local bar to go and get a drink and socialize with friends. They have all kinds of liquors and beer. I had an Armeretto Sour which was made perfectly. The bartender was really cool and so were the patrons. The prices were responsible for as many drinks that we had. The bar is small but clean and has a laid back atmosphere. Andy's corner bar was really great. It had a large array of different age groups and was actually pretty crowded on a tuesday night. The bar feels like an Irish Pub gone classy. The craft beers are always a MAJOR plus to the place. not many small bars in the area offer a decent selection of craft brews. The bartender was really great, super friendly. They don't do food here as an FYI but they put a pretzel on each beer which I thought was a really cool touch to the place. The inside of the place is much nicer than you're initially anticipating. Really nice dark wood bar, and just the right amount of space for a pit stop or an all night enjoyment with the crowd. Keep in mind this bar is meant for you to go an enjoy your company, like you would of a decade or 2 ago. It has one small TV that wasn't even on and a music juke to play music from. We were stared at and pointed at by 3 people for the 2 hours we were there, they looked like dick heads. Possible reasons for their staring: they are dickheads or put $200 into the jukebox that was behind us and they were pointing everytime a new song came on; my bet is the former. From the exterior, I would think this dive only served Bud and Coors, but I was pleasantly surprised to find there was a great selection of craft brews. Andy's has a rotating draft selection as well as a case towards the back with plenty of other choices, both in and out of season. The bartender, George, is extremely knowledgable about the beers he has in stock. He even knew that the brewery for the beer he had suggested had moved from Harrisburg to Hershey, PA. He let me sample a few different beers, and ultimately made the perfect recommendation based on what I had described I wanted (which might I add is somewhat difficult as I am a girl after all) I loved each beer is served with a pretzel. I heard about this place from my cousin, and he had mentioned something about the 100 beer club, where you drink 100 different beers in a year. I thought that this meant the bar would have 100 taps. In reality, there are something like 7 taps that are changed often so you can check off the beer from your club card. That would make it pretty difficult to hit all 100 beers if they aren't readily available. From a really great beer selection, to the owner George who not only serves you but is quite knowledgeable about really good craft beers, this bar gets an A+ in my book. While I've heard about it for years, I always chalked it up to just being just another bar. After stopping in this week on a dreary Tuesday afternoon, I discovered that it's a little bit more than just your average bar. With vocals popping in and out, we made many new friends. Ok - So the first time I went here I hated the owner, he was such a jerk, But there was only like 5 people in the bar. Went there last night and it was a packed house. (sausagefest still) but it was packed!! George was so happy to introduce us to new beers. He was a completely different guy. If you are beer snob like me this is the place for you. There are always changing microbrew taps as well as two cask editions. When they run out a new one is put in place. Making it the kind of place to stop by frequently. They also feature a many bottled beers to choose from. The owner George will offer you samples of beers in small glasses to help you decide, and will also offer you suggestions based on what you like. You will get addicted to the hands on service, which may lead you to participate in the Faternal Order of Foam. This is list of beers which you must taste in a set amount of time. Please don't pass this little bar up. It might seem like a hole in the wall, but with all the devotees you can't go wrong. There is no food at this bar, but almost every beer is served with a pretzel. You can also request popcorn or pretzels to have with your drink. I was introduced to Andy's corner bar approximately one month ago by a good friend. He described it as a small bar stocked with constantly changing craft beer. Although it sounded somewhat interesting, I admit I did not expect this establishment to become one of my new dive bars to frequent in 2015. As it turns out this place is about as unique as it gets. First off, it is BYOF (Bring your own food). While at first this may sound a bit strange, in actuality it seems Andy's has acquired a bit of a cult following among its customers. Last Friday I stopped in after work for a few beers and there was actually a group of people celebrating a birthday who had brought a cake, along with several homemade appetizers and entrées! It was quite the site and it looked like they were having a very good time celebrating. They also have menus for local restaurants that routinely deliver your food right to the bar if desired. George, the owner (son of Andy) is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to beer. He is constantly rotating kegs of approximately 10 craft beers. Last time I was there he mentioned that he had changed three beers on the whiteboard in the last 24 hours. They are listed on a dry erase board for you to choose from; tasting prior to ordering is encouraged. In addition to the whiteboard beers there is a large selection of craft beer and micro-brew beer by the bottle in the rear of the bar. A popular activity at this bar is the annual Try-100-beers-at-Andy's club (well, that what I'm calling it). Basically, you receive a stiff, 8.5 x 11 tracking card with a grid of commonly offered beers at the bar and on the flip side there is a blank grid for you to write in manually any beers that were not pre-typed on the front of the card. Whenever you order a new beer you write it in or highlight it on the card and when you leave you have the bartender initial as proof. If you reach 100 beers by the end of the year your name will appear on the plaque at the end of the bar. Last Friday, I started one! The constantly changing beers offered are generally of very high quality and are not to be compared to the likes of Miller's Alehouse. Also, every beer ordered comes with a large pretzel on a skewer in the glass... A welcome addition, sure to help you populate that grid with an extra beer or two... Just remember these beers are sure to intoxicate you rapidly when compared to typical beer. Andy's Corner Bar is small, but not cramped, with a good energy about it. The customer base seems to be generally working-class people of solid character with a dash of hipster here and there. Customers range widely in age from late-20s on. I plan on making the 100 beer club this year and predict I will be stopping in at least twice a month for 2015. 4-stars pushed to 5-stars for a unique dive bar establishment in Bergen County With good beer and good people. read more

This place is a beer drinkers paradise! They have all kinds of beers in every shape and size. The bartender George may as well have grown the hops himself as he knows so much about everything he is serving! Just ask and he will talk your ear off! We are not talking your standard couple taps of lite beers here, you have foreign, domestic, IPAs, not just standard kegs but actual casks of beer, craft beers, all kinds of cool stuff that will mean nothing to you if you are not a beer geek but if you are one... you will probably cream in your pants! Some things to know if its your first time as this stuff is not common knowledge: 1.) They do not serve food... at all... nothing! I have heard you can actually BYOF.. bring your own food!? Haven't seen it done but so I've heard! 2.) You can go to the back and pick out bottles of beer from the cooler and bring it back up, give it to George, he'll pour expertly and serve. 3.) This is cool - they have a list of 100 or so beers that you can keep track of what you've drank, try to try them all, and keep your running list right there at the bar (pretty smart, keeps them coming back) 4.) If you don't know much about beer, tell George what you like and have him suggest something! A friend of mine was thoroughly embarrassed when he visited the beer cooler and on 2 consecutive occasions picked out what he thought would be good and ended up being the girliest, fruity beer you could imagine... he was almost laughed out of the place, good fun for everyone but him! I come here with friends to have conversations, and if I'm waiting the bartenders are friendly and have a quick chat while I'm waiting. Truly a great bar and for more reasons that just great beer. The people that go there are not only from the neighborhood but from other states and while there are a lot of regulars and it's somewhat a cheers atmosphere, this is the kind of place most people would be comfortable in. The Bartender George is an exceptional fellow. Very knowledgeable, and one of the things I love about this place is that all the beers are served in their proper glassware not just everything in a pint glass kind of a deal. If your thinking, "snobby" I know, but don't get the wrong idea, they just have a certain respect for craft beer you wont find anywhere miles from here. Did I mention how good the beer was? It's rotated regularly and there's always a representation of all different kinds of craft ales, IPAs stouts, Belgium, pilsners, etc. There is also almost always a English style cast conditioned beer with the cleanest line to get that robust, flavorful taste you can't find anywhere else. The way beer should taste! You can walk in here not knowing anything about beer, but a few down the hatch and a couple minutes of conversation with George you'll be plenty educated! George's establishment may no longer be unique, but it's still the foundation of the craft beer scene in the tri-state area. You can read further below, but the reason you're here is because you want to know if you should come here, and why. The answers: Yes and George George, one of the last remaining bartenders that actually lives up to the idealistic view of the wise sage behind the bar with story-a-plenty to tell. You'll often hear 'It's the closest to Cheers that you can get" from patrons. And if you're still not convinced - Michael Jackson (no, not that guy) the premier beer critique while still alive, who traveled all over the world, had named Andy's as one of his favorite bars. Read further if necessary: George took over his father's (Andy) bar in the 90s and made the decision to revamp it from a favorite local watering hole to a craft beer bar before most of the country even had the faintest glimmer of craft beer in their eyes. And while you'll find plenty of bars in the area serving craft beer now, some with more taps and a larger bottled selection, you won't find any with the same character as Andy's. The bar features 7 taps that rotate regularly and are kept fastidiously clean, a 4 by 4 shelved fridge with an assortment of bottles, and 2 cask taps which still remain unique in the area, even 5 years after the big surge in craft beer began. The decor is masculine and classic, noise levels remain at a comfortable level, and in the 6 years I've been going I've never run into an impolite soul. This is a place you go to actually converse, both with your friends and with other patrons. Its a place you go where George will remember your name after your first visit. Its a place to go to experience George's salt-of-the-earth charm. And its a place you go to have a good beer. And if you're up for it, its a place to try 100 different beers in a year and get your name on a plaque on the wall. Simply put, anyone disappointed by this place probably doesn't belong here. But if you're into this type of bar, you're bound to love Andy's. A few notes: - There's no kitchen. George, when so inclined will make popcorn or bar pies. There's always pretzels to be had. But you're free to bring food in as you like. - Its a small bar with only about 5 or 6 tables and a long bar. Its best experienced on slow to moderate nights. Busier nights can get cramped if you don't have a seat. But the bar is never loud and everyone is polite, so it's more tolerable than other packed bars. - Andy's does offer liquor and mixed drinks for those that don't like beer. So you can feel safe bringing your lady friends who only drink cocktails. But note that George will inform you that he has yet to find someone for whom he can't find a beer that they'll enjoy. - George carries cases of coors and corona (I believe) in the fridge, but don't expect to find anything of that nature on tap or in general here. Going out with my long time friend to one of the greatest small time, big flavor, pubs in the local Area: Andy's Corner Bar. Reasons why I love this bar: 1. Old school Bar--this means there is no blaring pop tunes, only the sound of solid conversation between new and old friends. 2. Andy's Nights are usually punctuated by tracks from the jukebox in the corner. Yes, a jukebox. Get those quarters ready. 3.Amazing selection of beers-- plus, people don't upturn their nose if you order a standard macro-brew. 4.Seating is packed, but that just keeps your group together and it defends the bar from the influx of randoms who don't exactly fit the relaxed scene. 5.You can buy great beer, late at night, by the 6-pack from their refrigerator in the back of the bar. Their Facebook group has coined this local pub " Andy's Corner Bar Is The Greatest Bar On Earth". Is it just me, or is this some kind of awesome? Check out their seasoned selection of local craft brews and micro-brews from all over the country. The prices are standard($$), given their options. The bartender is a welcoming character who makes the customers feel at ease, and that's before he hands them their liquid courage. I always enjoy unwinding at Andy's. Great place for beer lovers, and my inlaws' favorite bar in the world. In fact, I am pretty sure my husband's parents go to Andy's multiple times per week and they are always discovering new beers there and recommending them to us. They are also proud to have received recognition for their beer drinking prowess with their names on a placard on the wall - apparently drinking a certain amount of unique beers over a year period earns regular customers a plaque on the wall - fun! They hand out checklists so you can track your progress. I wish a bar near me did this. Pretzels come with the beers, and there seems to be little snacks like chips or popcorn available as well. It is a cute cozy little place, and they have a regular beer menu and a chalkboard with rotating specials. The owner seems very knowledgeable and very excited about his beers. I have been here three times so far and always look forward to going back when I find myself up in the Dirty Jerz! Best bar in North Jersey! Theres always a ridiculous variety of beer, way more then you can find at most pubs. On Wednesdays, I find that the actual Brew promoters will come to display their wares. I have never been disappointed with the service or selection here and I do bounce around to alot of bars. The best part about this bar is George. He's extremely knowledgeable about the micro brews and welcomes you warmly like a true bartender! For the atmosphere this is the best place to go for after work drinks or anytime you want a relaxed atmosphere. I am so lucky to live down the street from Andy's. It's a great place for beer geeks to try new and diverse beers. The constantly rotating taps never disappoint and the occasional cask poured beers are a true delight. I've never had the same beer twice here, and save two or three, every beer I've had has been a new one for me. George the owner and bartender is the nicest guy and will help the indecisive pick out the right beer for them, even offering up samples in tiny mugs (I want one). Every month or so there are promo nights with a tap takeover from a great brewery, which includes special rare brews, prizes for patrons and usually complimentary food. The atmosphere is perfect, it really is your comfortable down to earth neighborhood bar. A great place to unwind, share a conversation with some friends and enjoy some of the best craft beers out there. My girlfriend primarily drinks wine, which they graciously pour from a great selection, but George still is always able to help her find a beer to fit her tastes. And to "Mary H" below, odds are he could tell you were there to just drink and get drunk. Wrong bar for that, sorry you didn't enjoy your time there but that's not the kind of atmosphere they want nor do the other patrons at Andy's want. It had nothing to do with you being women or George being sexist, he's never treated my girlfriend with anything less than the upmost respect and kindness.
