Easy 5 stars. A friend took me here on the late night and the place was mostly empty. We got kim chi tofu stew of some sort and some crispy fried chicken with a sweet sauce. Both portions were generous, both items were really really good and satisfying. The kimchi seemed like a really healthy dish and had a really nice depth of flavor without being too spicy. I went here by myself and it was excellent - delicious pork belly with kimchi and tofu - great service and the vibe there is relaxing fun and sort of 90s in the best way possible - highly recommend! you'll probably be better off bringing friends - being alone was great - but I will definitely bring friends next time - its that kind of place :D read more

My friend chose My Way for dinner on a Wednesday night. We walked in a bit after 6 and were able to sit right away. The restaurant is casual and comfortable. The waiter and rest of the staff were friendly and very helpful with recommendations. They gave us complimentary soup with noodles that was very tasty. We selected four skewers (chicken, short rib, pepper in bacon, mushroom in bacon) and beef pancakes with scallions to start. An excellent and flavorful selection of appetizers. We knew that we wanted to order a solid amount of entree to share and went with the fried chicken with garlic and the thin beef brisket with clams. The fried chicken was a HUGE pile of perfectly fried and seasoned chicken. I haven't had better Korean fried chicken! The brisket and clams was also delicious, had never considered that combination before but enjoyed it to the point where I was looking for more clams. Like most pochas this is a small and cozy restaurant. The parking situation isn't so great, so try to carpool. In terms of alcohol, don't be expecting wine and cocktails on the menu. They have a great selection of makgeolli and sojus , so enjoy! The staff is very friendly and gives great recommendations. And most importantly, the food is delicioussss! It's as if your Korean grandmother is in the kitchen whipping up all the best korean comfort foods while you sit back and relax with the drinks. Forgot to take a picture of the gamjatang because we were so hungry. But when this chicken dish came out, I remembered! Haha. It was crunchy on the outside drizzled in garlicky sweet and spicy sauce, and juicy on the inside. It has a perfect amount of heat. You may think that the breading is a bit thick at first but it becomes an anju all on its own. Make sure to have some gum or mouthwash after! One thing I regret is getting too full too quickly.... Stopped by around 6:30pm on a friday and I think we were one of the first tables. It only really starts getting busy 8pm onwards. But even then not overly packed. The vibe is really nice, not loud. You can have conversations with friends. But the food is what's good! Probably the best of all the Pochas around. That's coming from friends who's frequents pochas. They give you complimentary noodle seaweed soup. Ordered: Seafood pancake - was alright. Not really crunchy and lacking flavor. You have to really dip it in the sauce to get something. skewers - were good but not the best I've had compared to a yakitori spot. Chicken was good, the mushroom wrapped in bacon was ok, the pepper wrapped in bacon was also not bad. parking is straight up horrendous because this place is popular and the parking lot is quite small. street parking is a little tough cause you might need to walk a bit, and the side streets are pretty residential. after waiting about 30 minutes on a saturday evening, we were originally seated in the front room by the yakitori grill, and the proprietor of the establishment was giving us undivided attention. she reminded me of my aunt, so maybe i'm biased, but i felt so welcomed. the food was also very good - i don't typically like meat jeon, but it was good here! after about 30 minutes or so, we were moved to a table in the main dining room. definitely a popular spot so try to come early! and maybe don't bring a car if you can help it. read more

Came here with friends on a Friday for dinner (7ish). My friend suggested this spot. We were seated promptly once we entered. The place had a dark and warm vibe to it. Music wasn't too loud so you can have conversations without screaming. Started out with complimentary hot noodle soup, which was really good. Ordered some sort of fried chicken (sweet n sour I think?) dish which was really good. Got the army stew which was also solid. Cheese corn was pretty amazing. And got some chicken and beef skewers, tasty. Overall the food and service was really good. If you want really good Korean food at a low key spot, this is the place. Mediocre pocha place in town; came on a Sunday night and surprisingly we were the only people there. So if you're looking for a low key place with no lines, I'd come here. They have an interesting set up right next to the amazing katsu curry place, called sazanami which I highly recommend checking out! I'm a person that can handle my spice but their budae jigae [4/5] was the most spicy I've ever had and made it less enjoyable. Overall this place was a 4 stars. The food ranged from 3.5 to 4 depending on the items that we had. Limited beer options. They do not have draft beer and only bottle and not many options at all. They give you this noddle soup on the house on the house in the beginning which was pretty good. We had the garlic fried chicken which had an excellent garlic flavor but the chicken itself was disappointing. It was very crispy but there was barely any meat! Bunch of breading with tiny measly pieces of chicken! What was that?! We ate a bunch of just fried dough. We also had the rolled egg omelette and that was pretty decent. We also had the chicken, beef and the shrimp skewers. All were pretty good but a bit pricy for the little skewers that you get. This space has been around for more than 20 years. It used to be a bunsik type place, then something else and now more of a pocha place. The place is small but cozy and liked the vibes. Friendly staff who got my jokes and gave us enough space to enjoy ourselves. Got bude jjigae which was good, fried gizzards which was amazing (huge and juicy). Also had the scallion chicken which was ok but next time I might ask to have the coleslaw on the side (see picture for reference). While I appreciate the creativity and effort in the presentation, it looked like lava vomit and did not appreciate that approach. Not for me. I don't understand how this place gets terrible reviews because My Way is SOLID! Parking: never an issue during weekdays but Fridays and Saturdays are dicey. I recommend coming between 7-9PM. Service: The service is what I prefer. Because I traveled to Asia frequently, I'm used to not being swamped with questions. They're attentive but not pushy. Other restaurants, take note! Ambience: I felt as if I was transported to a restaurant in Seoul. The place is busy but not too hectic and you can actually carry a conversation without shouting. Food: This is the first Pocha I visited in Jersey that I genuinely want to visit every week. The ribeye skewers are fantastic. I could easily eat a few with a bowl of rice for a quick bite. My go-to orders are the cheese buldak and garlic pepper chicken (the latter I HIGHLY RECOMMEND). The kimchi pancake is a solid 8/10 as well. Another dish I truly love is the beef pancake. Great experience always looking to try new things. Our water explained everything really good gave us the background on the style of restaurant they were. We were eating at midnight and being adventurous he suggested the live baby octopus. It came came with 2 sauces Cho Chang is what he spelled a slight spice to it and sesame oil with salt and pepper. So word on the street was that a new pocha popped up in Fort Lee and so naturally, my friends and I had to go check it out. Not going to lie, when we first walked in we were a little worried bc it seemed like the pocha was for an older crowd BUT NOPE. What a fantastic find it turned out to be! Two words. Service & Food. When both of those are spectacular, it transforms a night from being just another night to one that's memorable. First off, the service. I've had many great servers in the past but there are only a few that have compelled me to ask for their names. And at My Way I didn't just ask for just one server's name but two. When my friends and I walked in, Jae was the one who helped us to our seats and also helped us through the menu. At a new restaurant, choosing what to eat can be overwhelming. But Jae was patient and kind and entertained all of our questions amicably. He helped us in deciding to order a few skewers for the table (side note: meatball, pepper & bacon, & chicken skewers are the way to go. Trust.) We also asked him about the fried rice looking photos on yelp and he explained that they offer to mix rice in after the stews and recommended for us to try the tang galbi aka beef shortrib stew. Wow it was actually really good LOL. Highly recommend. We also ordered the spicy pork stir fry (jaeyookbokkeum) on our own and that was just okay in my opinion. Alright but this is where Tae comes in. Tae comes swooping in during the middle of our dinner to make sure we have everything we need and he mentions to us that the dak gang jung aka sweet & spicy chicken is a must try. He looked like he was willing to stake his life on it. So we ordered one on the spicier side and WOW! It was perfectly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. Accidental find when it is too late to have dinner. My girlfriend and I decided to do all the errands that we needed to do on our one day off before getting dinner. Unfortunately, we finished too late and at the same time, I was craving for Korean Food. The ambience of this place is not their strong suit. It is in the middle of a crisscrossing roads (or whatever technical term they use for that) and parking was at the back and was not quite well lit at 1 am. Coming in the restaurant, you would first lay eyes on the huge aquarium with live clams. Wait staff was very friendly. They even went through our options depending in how hungry we were and our spice level preferences. We ended up ordering cheese corn, pork belly and the outstanding beef soup with rice. we didn't finish everything since the servings were quite huge. The food was so good we had to the home the garlic fried chicken. I will recommend this place to anyone that like Korean food in Pocha style.
