Even though this is my first experience here I could not give it anything less than 5 stars. This bar/restaurant catered a birthday event for a friend of mine, and they did an amazing job. We were given only one waitress, Yesenia, and she was on top of everything. She separated everyones bill from the beginning so no messy exit at the end. Very cleaver of her. As for this establishment, the bar area is very open so no one will be bumping into you while you enjoy your drinks, or dance on the side. I like my space and to chill; not be bumped into or having drinks spilled on me. The restaurant section is also roomy with TV's and a projector. They have another room in the back for bigger parties and events. Down to business: What blew my mind was their unique squared pizza. I know, who could rave about pizza from a bar? I would come here to order this pizza as a takeout rather go around the corner for a pie! The Grandma with Prosciutto had a very robust flavor. The marinara sauce (made with San Marzano tomatoes), and pesto combination was a flavor burst with every bite, and I could not get enough. Each slice was built to hold all the toppings perfectly, and once I got to the crust I was shocked even more. I could either toss or enjoy the crust depending on the way its made, and this crust was the icing on the cake; devoured! I would like to come back just to try out more of their pies, and their unique way of making this "squared pizza". Definitely a pleasant surprise here. Coupled with a nice chill atmosphere, and staff makes this place a great find.

I've…read moreheard people rave about it for over a decade, and after finally seeing Rochelle Jordan there, I get the hype. It actually lives up to its reputation as one of the best-sounding rooms in the city. The venue is such a vibe. You walk into the ground-floor lounge, which is a great spot to grab a drink and decompress before the show, and then you head up the stairs into the main ballroom. The acoustics were flawless for Rochelle's set; her vocals were crisp, and you could feel the bass through the floor without it being muddy. Even though it's an intimate space, the high ceilings and the mezzanine give it a grander feel than your typical club. Pro Tip: If you want a bit more breathing room but still want a perfect view, the mezzanine is the place to be. But honestly, there isn't a bad "seat" (standing room only) in the house. After 12 years of hearing about it, I'm just annoyed I waited this long to go. It won't be another decade before I'm back.

It is an interesting experience, and I would say this spot definitely has a relaxed vibe. You can…read morepre-order the tickets on your phone (ticketmaster). It is just standing the whole time for the concert unless you are VIP (then there will be a small table with chairs set aside for you.) When you walk in, they check your bags and make sure you are of age (need photo ID and will get a wrist band), and there was no wait when I arrived at 6:30 PM, and the show was scheduled for 7 PM. There is a spot downstairs when you walk in to rest on a couch if you need. There are drinks: wine, beer, cider. The bathrooms are decent if you have to use them. Some positives: There is a coat check for $3, and they accept credit card. There are multiple stalls in the ladies' bathroom, and there is soap! I saw non-alcoholic drinks: Poland Spring water, Monster energy drink.

But apparently i missed writing a review. Maybe because there are many glowing reviews already. But may I put my 5 star review on the pile. This time we caught the 2pm Sunday open jam. We were smartly near the front of the line so we got my favorite spot, right on the bar rail near the stage. The drinks were good and strong, the service was quick and succinct. The jam was incredible. I didn't know all the guys but the guy on drums is a legend named muppet. He held back on his solos on the first 2 songs. On the third, when the baton was passed to him, he ripped off an impressive solo that would be amazing for anyone, and he is 93. We had to dip out to catch our flight, but cant wait to stop in again next time.

This was our last stop during our must recent NYC trip. Were only able to stay for a an hour or…read moreso, because we had to run to the airport. Still, this was enough to get a good feel of what the club is all about. Just standing in line we got to talk to a musician, who had just played at another location, but told us the people playing there that day were amazing, including the 91-year-old drummer "Muppet". We went during the day so no cover charge, but think they do at later hours. We got some spots at the bar, knowing we would not be able to stay long. From any seat you are able to enjoy the whole atmosphere and set. They had one server and one bartender, and I honestly thought at first they would be scrambling with all the drink orders but the way they worked, quickly and still being personable with each guest was impressive. The band playing was great, we stayed a bit more than we should have because of how good they were. Very intimate, chill way to spend time enjoying live music. The only reason I took one star off is the restroom situation. I went down hoping I could use the facilities but the mold smell and other strong smell made me sick and I had to run out. Just make sure you go before you are inside or hold it. Apart from that, very intimate, chill way to spend time enjoying live music.

A Must-Visit NYC Gem: Incredible Music, Food, and Energy! If…read moreyou want the ultimate New York City night out, Prohibition is the place to be! We had an absolute blast from the moment we stepped inside. The whole experience--from the warm welcome at the door to the high-energy live music--was 10/10. The Food Experience: Truly Next Level The food here isn't just "bar snacks"--it's a full-on culinary experience. We tried several dishes and honestly, every single one was a hit: * Grandma's Sunday Sauce: This was the star of the show. It's pure comfort in a bowl and tastes like it's been simmering for days. * The Bacon: You can't go wrong here. It's perfectly prepared, smoky, and dangerously addictive. * The Burrata: So fresh and creamy--the perfect way to start the meal. * Crispy Shrimp: These had the perfect crunch and were packed with flavor. The Vibes & Service The host set the tone right away with a great welcome, and the service throughout the night was seamless. It's rare to find a spot that balances a sophisticated "speakeasy" atmosphere with such friendly, attentive staff. And of course, the music! The live band was electric and kept the energy high all night long. The "Roaring 20s" vibe is so well-done--it feels intimate but exciting at the same time. Final Verdict I would definitely suggest Prohibition to everyone! Whether you're a local or just visiting the city, this is the spot for great food, amazing service, and a vibe you won't find anywhere else. We'll definitely be back for more!

Of course the one time I went with my friend they didn't have any live jazz, but I'm wondering if that's the reason we were able to get a table as I've read other reviews saying this place often had a long line. Their cocktails are expensive, but strong and very creative. I got the Birth of the Cool, which had citrus vodka, grapefruit noice, elderflower liqueur and fresh lime juice. It was so tart and refreshing... but priced at a whopping $20 for that small glass. Whatever. We also got two Nutty Irishmen ($23), which had espresso, brandy, Bailey's, and hazelnut liqueur- super rich and very boozy indeed. Although cocktail prices are steep I would absolutely go back. It's a really cool spot.

Dear General Manager or Owner,…read more Consider this a humble suggestion: your waitstaff could seriously benefit from a class on customer service etiquette. The remarkable arrogance and negligence, particularly from the sullen short blonde with the puffy face and rat-tail hairstyle--whose name remains a mystery since she refused to introduce herself--left quite an impression last Saturday evening. As a seasoned observer in this industry, it's obvious that individuals like her--and the thick-headed old-timer at your entrance, who boasts of his 25-year tenure as some hybrid between an aging bouncer and a person with minimal managerial duties--are dragging your establishment toward failure. Last Saturday, as a brief detour before our main event, my acquaintance and I decided to drop by for cocktails at around 9 PM. We were seated near the bar and waited a good 15 minutes before our waitress sauntered over with a face seemingly etched by life's travails or perhaps difficult monthly cycles. Pressed for time, we attempted to order a second round of cocktails using what I believed was a universally understood gesture--a simple wave. After seven ignored waves, I resorted to a polite, "Excuse me, could you please come over?" She responded with such reluctance, as if she was a guest instead of being on duty. Suddenly, your waitress--who must possess some unknown royal lineage--arrived with our cocktails and began SHOUTING, flailing her arms, and spitting as she declared that we couldn't summon her like that. Perplexed, since we used a universally recognized gesture to signal a waitress, I attempted to clarify the situation. She turned away without letting me finish. I have no idea how long she has worked for you or where she was previously employed--perhaps there she was summoned with a bell and wore a ring in her nose--but that's her issue, not mine. Before long, your "manager"--who might find more success chasing butterflies than running a bar--stepped in to handle the situation. Unfortunately, his intellectual prowess rivaled that of a doorknob, which is common for those lacking in cognitive abilities. As I was delivering my highly reasonable explanation, by the third sentence he decided that our presence was no longer welcome. Apparently, in his world, asking a waitress to do her job constitutes shocking insolence. Naturally, he made no mention of a refund for the cocktails we had only just ordered, nor did he extend the courtesy of enough time to finish them. In conclusion, your establishment is quite irrelevant to me as a visitor, after all, New York is teeming with options. I do, however, extend my gratitude to your circus troupe for the unexpected entertainment. Were I the owner of this fine institution, I'd likely call a team meeting first thing Monday morning to clarify that despite their frequent presence, the venue is neither their personal lounge nor their sovereign domain. They were brought on board to ensure this establishment thrives through prompt and pleasant service. Otherwise, expect chaos to reign, customers to vanish, profits to evaporate, and your clueless waitress and the senior bouncer to find themselves seeking employment on society's fringes.
