Don't make the same mistake I made. There are several Honda Dealership around.... Just go to them. Simply they lie. I was offered.an e price for a brand new 2017 Honda CRV and to lure me the manager Samantha Lambert offered 2 complimentary oil changes if I bought the car. ( I have this documented because this was all in an email I received). When I went to buy the car... The manager probably thought I was from South of the border because of my looks and greeted me with happy Cinco de Mayo as I was there only 2 days after. I ended up buying the car and asked the sales guy where is the vouchers for those complimentary oil changes. Nothing Nada till date. Only some song and dance " oh I will get it to you...the manager is out today." Three weeks went by I called again....oh it's on the mail. Nothing. A month went by... I wrote to Samantha (email) and till date neither a response not any oil change vouchers. My point is when you won't do something...why lie. It's like bait and switch. I guess Ms.S never expected that I would be much familiar with Yelp to formally express my experience. They don't offer any quality customer sales experience just sell a car that any other dealer would do. Why would I be ever going back there or recommend anyone. Bad business. Hope the owners read this. They certainly lost my confidence and hope many more potential savvy buyers will be aware about their treatment before walking in. read more

They do a reasonably good job on the cars, but a word of caution: they may not work on your car unless you repeatedly remind them to do so. I've experienced this twice- the first time, I needed an oil change and was told it would be ~2 hours (which was reasonable, given that they were really busy). I show up 3 hours later, and it turns out they hadn't even started working on my car (and seems like they had forgotten about it!) The 2nd time, same story- only when I went back to pick up the car and inquired about the status, did they start work on it (this was WITH an appointment). They spotted a number of things that rightfully needed to be addressed (so clearly, they have good techs there), eventually (2 hours later) that they didn't have enough time to finish it that day and indicated that the car would be ready first thing in the morning (by ~1030 or so). I call at 11, not having heard from them- and again, they only started work on the car right after I called (as if they had forgotten it). So in sum- take your car there if you have LOTS of time to burn, and the patience to consistently badger them so your car isn't forgotten. Not sure if the problem is on the service manager's side, but there's clearly communication issues between different parts of the team. It's worth mentioning their tech's good attention to detail and the fact that their pricing is transparent and reasonable. Still would probably take my car elsewhere in the future given the subpar level of service. read more

Have two extended warranties on my Crosstour. One is bumper to bumper and the other is for my wheels. tried to put a claim in on both and neither were honored. A gash in the side of my tire they said was not deep enough for coverage. Took it to Townfair and they said it was too dangerous and needed to be replaced. Their extended warranties are not honored and are not worth the paper they are printed on. They did try to sell me on an expensive $1200 brake job. Don't go here, they are awful! read more

Service center is completely unorganized. Total waste of my time. Called ahead for a recall to get fixed, was told no appointment was necessary and to come in. I asked if it was busy, the girl I spoke to said that it was actually pretty slow, come now. Great! I head down there and they said I needed to have an appointment and the next one was over a week away?! Super annoying! Everyone needs to get on the same page there. I paid for my car service and was waiting out in the cold for almost 30min. I even asked them 3 times to bring my car out. Worst customer service ever. I think this is what happens in here all the time. I bought my car here and it took them 5 hours to get my brand new car. I've read through these posts, and I'm surprised at the number of negative messages. I'm not sure if it's because you can't please every one or if those who are angry are more likely to write a review. I purchased a new Accord from Honda Cars of Boston in 2007 and I've consistently had positive experiences. In the first couple of years I was surprised at how well it went each time I visited, and now I've come to expect good service. I think people forget when they buy a car they'll need to bring it back at some point, so you better make sure you feel comfortable bringing it back. My experience has been that the service department is respectful and courteous. I've never felt like they were talking down to me. They work hard to communicate what you can expect for repairs and cost estimates. I think there have been a couple of times over the last five years that I might have waited longer than I would have liked, and the big picture is you can trust they will do the right thing and treat you like a valued customer. read more

I took my 2001 Honda Accord in for service because the check engine light was on and the car had been running a bit "off" for a while. I was really bummed out to learn that my transmission was an the way out as well as a few other problems which were going to add up to several thousands of dollars. I asked Reggie, the service manager, to take me over to the sales side and introduce me a salesperson because I wanted to explore the idea of buying a new car. I told him that I did not want a schmoozer salesperson. Keith was great. Two test drives later I decided on a 2012 Honda CRV. I picked it up ten days ago. I am very happy with my my new car. I felt the urge to write this review because Honda Cars of Boston has some pretty harsh reviews on Yelp which I had seen prior to making the final decision. I moved forward with them despite other people's poor reviews. I had a great experience working with Keith. I feel as though the deal I ended up with was a good one. I was able to negotiate a little bit extra on the side of my trade in. I can live with the payments I ended up with and the new awesome CRV is 100% worth the amount I paid for it. read more

There were no gas stations in the area but I noticed the service department to the dealership was still open and I drove in looking for air. The manager and the 2 technicians ended up mounting the spare for me in record time - and free of charge. As good a car buying experience as it gets! Buying or leasing a new car from a dealer can be a nightmare and many of my friends can spend the whole evening venting after or during such an experience. Yesterday was the fifth (yes: fifth!) new car I have purchased in the last 3 years in MA and the experience we had at Honda in Everett will clearly qualify as "as good as it gets"! We dealt directly with Sale Manager Alex Avanesau (who assigned a sale person for the final paperwork after details were finalized with him. All the details of the purchase and lease were finalized in short phone calls and a couple of emails. After I stated my needs and position carefully (tip: you need to approach a dealer knowing EXACTLY what is it that you want!), his first quote was BY FAR better than the competition and when we got to crunch time (paperwork and payment) not a cent was added and no games were played. I chose a car from the inventory (online) and emailed the VIN - this car was ready for delivery when we got there. Upon arrival to the dealership Alex was courteous and friendly. The sales person assigned was efficient and nice. Paperwork was taken care of in a timely fashion and even the financial guy (the one whose role is to sell you insurances, accessories, protection plans, covers and a variety of other usually unneeded item in a total price that can buy you another car) was as nice and not pushy as they come. But finishing such a review about a car dealership without some criticism is not really in my nature so I finally found something vicious to say about them: Guys: your coffee sucks! I had a service appointment for 7:45am to have my air conditioner checked. Wasn't blowing cold air. Told them I would wait. They told me may be a few hours. So the rep ordered me a Lyft ride. 3 hours later no Lyft ride. So I went and checked on status of my vehicle. The rep said they had just started the diagnostic. I had an appointment and they thought I left on a Lyft so they probably put me to the end of the list. I was sitting in the waiting room and noticed at least 5 vehicles before me had come and gone. Come to find out my vehicle's AC only needed a recharge. Now it's over 4hrs, the rep comes out and recommends another $1700 worth of preventive maintenance which will take another 4hrs. I declined. The rep went back to complete my paperwork and came back to say. The tech recommended to replace battery. So I'm not sure if they even tested the battery or if they were just looking to make sales. So $500 later for a AC recharge and battery change and 5-1/2 hours of time. I was finally on my way. When this was HONDA OF BOSTON I have never had issues. The waiting area even sucked. They had the most boring channel on the tv. I've been coming here for service for 7 years now. I even purchased an extended warranty specifically because of the service department. I will not be returning here for service. I will go elsewhere no matter what the cost. Money is not the issue it's the transparency or lack of. I had an issue with my 2004 Honda Accord and went into Honda Cars of Boston to have it repaired. Before going into Honda Cars of Boston, I took my car to Auto Zone to have it hooked up for a reason code. Auto Zone advised me that there was an issue with my torque converter, and that a lot of honda cars had been having the same issue. I took my car into Honda Cars of Boston. Honda received the same reason code and they told me that it was a solenoid that would need to be replaced. I paid $400.... I repeat... $400 to have the solenoid replaced. Honda Cars of Boston "test drove" the car and claimed that the issue had been resolved. The next morning when driving to work, I was once again stranded with the same issue. I called Honda Cars of Boston, and they advised me that it may be a transmission issue and quoted me $4000 -$5000. If you ask me, I think the mechanic knew that it was a transmission issue to begin with and wanted to use the Solenoid to get extra money out of me. DO NOT, I REPEAT... DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE. Ataan was great! I did my homework emailed the local dealers when I figured out what I wanted. The dealer I found the most user friendly was Honda Cars of Boston. They respected my intelligence and did not try to sell me things I did not need. My last new car purchase was a terrible experience , hence I did not return to that place because of this fact. The previous car dealer pressured me to purchase everything they thought I did and did not need. Honda Cars of Boston did not try to sell me useless stuff. I only purchased what I needed. It was very simple and comfortable. The car was priced below what I expected to pay, based on information found on consumer reports. Financing was a breeze at an incredible rate. I would recommend this dealership and sales representative to my nearest and dearest. Ataan set all of the controls in my car including the radio stations and blue tooth for my phone! Simply put, I would not recommend going here unless you know how to deal with car salesmen. I am no expert at dealing with them but I read a lot online about people's experiences, so I went here knowing what would be coming my way. I made an appointment to visit their showroom through Honda's website and when I reached there, I was "greeted" by one of the typical car salesmen you can find in most dealerships; slicked back hair, "gold" watch and that "friendly" attitude. I told him I had made an appointment to see a particular model and I would like to test drive it. After he got the keys, he started going into the details of the car and by details I mean more like what the controls on the steering did. I kept hinting that I know what they do in the hope that he would tell me something I did not know. But honestly whatever he said came off like something well memorized. Test drive goes smoothly and on the way back the to the dealership, I saw they had a previous year model of the same car in the lot. Now from my research I knew that nothing changed apart from a few basic trinkets that I can live without. So I told him, I wanted to test drive this model. He obliged and brought the new set of keys. After I came back from the second test drive, I had made up my mind to buy that car. So I went in to discuss the details. Here things start getting sour, (Note: A lesson for you if you are buying a car) 1. First he takes a piece of paper and divides into four squares [called a four square worksheet]. Each square represents a value (MSRP, Trade-in, down payment, and monthly payments). He started asking the values I will put in there. Be careful here because once you give numbers, they will adjust them in a way that they get the max profit. At this point I stuck to my guns and said simply quoted a final price (around the invoice) with giving away any of those numbers. 2. He initially disagreed and said that he will speak to his manager about it and to "validate" that I am serious about buying asked for a credit card that they will use to run a credit check. I did not think twice and handed him mine. [Mistake!!! Salespeople try to hold onto something from you so that you cannot walk away, including "valet service" so that they have the keys...]. Anyway, he came back after his "talk" with the manager with the letters "NO" in big red letters on the sheet. 3. I tried asking him what his manager was quoting, but he kept asking me how much more I would pay. I firmly stuck to my ground and said nothing more than what I have said before and added that I wanted a couple of accessories for the price I quoted. 4. [This is the point when the more experienced salesman comes in] He comes in and said "We don't negotiate on our price". So I said "Oh OK. It's unfortunate that we could not agree on the price. Thanks for your timeâ. I tried to leave and realized "Damn it, my credit card!!!" So I started asking the guy to get mine so that I can leave. But the young guy kept insisting that we can work things out. So both the sales guys now sit at the table and start the negotiation. At this point, the senior guy says "I am sorry I yelled at you. I was angry at some other things". I saw this as a nice chance to give him back the same attitude that he was showing and said "Wow! Yelling at your customers. I do not know of any school that teaches you that?" So we kept arguing about the price and at one point he gave away and said "OK I can give you the car for the price you are asking, but you have to pay for the accessories". I just gave an impression that I am thinking hard and said, "OK but since that would make it over my budget, I am going to drop a few accessories off my list". Sure that will drop a few dollars, but we all made nice and decided on the deal. [Now comes the bait and switch]. Younger salesman comes in to start some paperwork. I asked him again "the price you are quoting is for Model XXX" and immediately he says it is for a different model. Now that I got my card back, I just stood up and pretended to leave. He said he will confirm and came back and agreed to what I said. At this point the sale was made. During all this time, I notice that the other car salesmen are in a group playing some board game, one sales guy telling the other to "kiss my ass". It just gave me an impression of being at a used car lot and not at a dealership. The saving grace is the finance guy, who were at least professional and explained through every single paperwork. Delivery of the car was right at the discussed time and this time he actually took time to walk through the installed accessory. And once we agreed on the price, the senior sales guy says "Congratulations on the new car. Give our dealership a great review and I will even throw in a few free car washes". I hope he at least knows how to search his business on on the Internet or maybe I should mail this to him. read more

I recently had my Honda serviced at Honda Cars of Boston in Everett. The name alone kind of irks me. It's not in Boston.... anyway, I made an appointment and arrived on time for my oil change. The reception area was pretty grimy and I could see dirt caked onto their keyboards. I told them I would wait and they showed me to the dirtiest waiting room I have ever sat in. The chairs were covered in stains and pet hair. There weren't any vending machines or refreshments like at other Honda dealerships (Herb Chambers in Allston). The magazines were raggedy and the shows they had playing on the TV seemed like the pilot series of a show that hadn't made it onto the Food Network. They managed to do my oil change in under 2 hours (had I known it would take that long, I would've dropped off my car and run errands). Obviously, an oil change is pretty basic so no complaints there. They also did the standard car wash to go along with the service and I wasn't strong armed into purchasing things I didn't need. I'm not sure if I will go back, but I know one thing for sure - I will never ever sit in their waiting room again. read more

Honda Cars of Boston pulled my credit through Experian, Equifax and probably TransUnion on January 30, 2013 without my permission. I gave the business ample time to fix the issue, and the credit inquiries remain on my reports. They have no signed documents from me giving them permission; it was a rogue sales representative who acted on his own. At first they defended him, but once they got the facts, they realized that this individual was in the wrong. I found this very unsettling business practices and it's my hope that with this review, people will be cautious contacting them when asking for a quote. This business should have owned up to their mistakes in the beginning and not defend their rogue employee who did this. I ended up leasing a vehicle through a different dealership, so they lost business. read more

Our sales representative Ataan was a great guy and very knowledgeable about the cars my wife drove. We first were looking into getting an Accord but needed the AWD and the cargo capability. The prices were fair and competitive. Coming from California, documentation fees are capped at $65. Here in Massachusetts (where it's suppose to be "progressive"), has no limits. After going from dealership to dealership, Honda of Boston had the lowest doc fees. So overall, great deal, great experience, and Ataan was great. He followed up, called up, and took care of a lot! This 5 star rating was given based on the experience we got comparatively to other dealerships that we've gone thru. I freaking hate cars. They are huge, expensive, dangerous, smelly, dirty, etc. Unfortunately - with my lifestyle - they're a necessary evil. I recently got a letter from Honda saying that there was a factory recall on part of the airbag system. Apparently it malfunctions and kills people. The work and parts is free - I just gotta drop my car by a dealer for half a day. Now - I know I'm not gonna be around forever, but I've decided that there are only some ways that I'm OK with being shuffled off this mortal coil: getting roundhouse kicked by Chuck Norris death by exhaustion in the Playboy mansion Killing Hitler Saving a family from a rabid cougar with my bare hands (guns? I got two guns right here *points at biceps*) Ways that I'm not OK with: malfunctioning airbag. And yet I delayed bringing my car into being fixed for quite a while. Why? Well - you just know that when a dealer looks at your car - they're gonna find something that's gotta be fixed. And my front suspension had been acting funny. But I decided it was time - and yesterday I dropped off my car. An hour later - I get a voicemail from Jay from Honda - saying that we need to talk. ^#!%$@$^#$&#!!! I mutter. I call him back. Front struts are shot - leaking oil like most pipes in Boston leak water. $600 to replace them. I tell him I'll get back to him. I call another shop that I trust - and they say it'll cost at least $600, maybe more. I ask a friend who is more into cars than is healthy - and he says that that price is at least fair. I call Jay back. I give him the green light. Sorry bank account. Jay called me back a couple times during the day to let me know the status of the work. Very communicative. I pick up the car that evening - and sure enough - bumps don't feel half as bad as before. Oh, and they ended up charging me less than $600 - so they actually came out *under* their quote. That happens? Really? Everybody was very nice and friendly in the service group. Work was done when they said it would be done. Can't ask for more. From the other reviews it sounds like their salesmen are standard car salesmen - but at least their service group is solid. Perfect experience. This is a review of the SERVICE department, although that might be a misnomer... I first took my Honda here in Fall 2011 for a replacement part for my Civic. That experience was fine - think 3.5 stars. They did was they were supposed to do, but nothing made me say "wow." I went back because they are the most convenient Honda dealership for me and they didn't do anything wrong. My second experience involved a multi-hour (3?) wait to get two new tires, despite calling ahead to make the appointment, confirming that they had the tires on hand, etc, etc. I wasn't impressed with the wait, but I did leave with two properly-mounted tires. While waiting, I learned that they offer oil changes for hybrids for under $40, versus the $70+ at Jiffy Lube/Valvoline. That seemed pretty great. Having been there twice, Honda Cars of Boston decided I probably wanted to be on their mailing list. I've received multiple pieces of mail advertising their online scheduling system, as well as encouraging me to use it. Fast forward to the present; my car needs an oil change. Like most people, my weekends are pretty busy. I checked appointment availability yesterday and then looked at what else I plan to get done today. I booked an appointment online this morning around 8am, waited for the confirmation code and email, then scheduled the rest of my day. Shortly thereafter (approx 30-45 min), I received a phone call from Honda Cars of Boston. Um, they overbooked so I shouldn't come in. They are super busy and can't change my oil. I point out that I have a confirmed appointment for today. They are overbooked and Saturdays are busy and customers need appointments for Saturday appointments. Agreed - would you like my confirmation code. I planned the rest of my day around this appointment and need the oil change to safely drive to the rest of my appointments. Well, I could come in, but it would probably be about three hours of waiting and even then they might not get a chance to change my oil. Oh, and PS - They actually didn't have any appointments left when I made mine, but someone forgot to update the online scheduling system. The first person with whom I spoke continued to waffled between encouraging me to cancel my appointment, telling me not to come in, and telling me they could change my oil but it would be a three-hour wait. Since I find contradictory directions frustrating and unclear, I repeatedly asked to speak to someone else. Recognizing that receiving the service I booked and expected was unlikely, I glanced at my cell phone in-call timer - I had just spent 12:54 of my Saturday trying to get clear information and was now on hold, in hopes someone else could give me clear information and resolution for a Honda Cars of Boston error. As an aside, I know that I get very frustrated on the phone (versus in person or over email) when I am given contradictory or unclear information. Therefore, I had very specifically marked my account preferences with this business to show email as my preferred method of contact and unchecked "phone" for every option. Within one's account, there is an option to specify phone/email/text for various situations - e.g., appointment reminders, follow-up, for approval on repairs - and I very specifically unchecked phone for all of those, checking email/text depending on the item. I spoke to Mike next, who was refreshingly direct. They are overbooked and busy. If I come in, 1.5 wait. I needed to leave by 75 minutes after my appointment time, for another appointment. Can he guarantee that? Nope. 90 minutes, so maybe I want to cancel. Okay, what if I come in earlier? Or at a specific time? This is a standard oil change and since my other visits to their service department weren't great, this oil change is going to determine if I do any future business with them. Ninety minutes, might work to come earlier. Fine. I'll be there earlier and be the least happy person in your waiting room for ninety minutes. HOLD ON! Yelpers, that was a threat and he is cancelling my appointment - the one I've refused to cancel, despite two employees encouraging me to cancel it. Yes, when a business extends poor service, if you say that you feel UNHAPPY about that and might not come back, you are THREATENING THEM. I asked him to clarify, as I don't perceive feeling grumpy and reading a book as a threat - this is the Boston area. I also think most businesses like to know when a customer is unhappy enough that they are about to lose future business. If you have a break problem or something about the engine don't take your car there the will make it worst

Update: I went to a local independent mechanic yesterday. He fixed the cat converter and heat shields and replace the O2 sensor and broken engine mount for $880 and guaranteed his work for two years. Honda Everett said it would cost me $1675 - 1075 for a cat converter, $400 for O2 sensor and $200 for engine mount!!! I saved $795 by going to a local independent mechanic !!!! In addition, I told the mechanic that Honda Service Everett said my compliance bushings are broken and need to be replaced, another $600. The mechanic said he took a look and saw some cracks but said that they don't need to be replaced for a while!!!! He said they tried to up- sell!!!! So I saved another $600!!! I would urge anyone to get a second quote somewhere else. I guarantee it will be cheaper than this place! This is not good business practice! I am never going to buy another Honda again because I have lost all trust in the company!! read more

This review is for the service department at this Honda dealership. The service is extremely slow here. An oil change takes an hour, which upon entering they'd tell you 'about half an hour'. Only coming here because it's close to my house, and each time I'm here I just beat my chest why I didn't drive a little further to go somewhere else. I can say for certain that this is not random coincidence because I've been here on 3 occasions and they are consistently slow, whether it be oil change (1 hr), headlight bulb change (45 mins), or state inspection (1.5 hrs). read more

Our sales consultant, Ataan, was so easy to work with. He was straightforward with us. There was no pressure to buy and we had a comfortable, friendly discussion during our test drive. He took the time to understand our needs and showed us features which helped us make the right choice. He helped us get a great price and was available throughout the buying process. He took good care of us after we purchased the car as well. He gave us a full tour of the car, customized our settings for us as well as showed us how to change them later if needed. Another thing I loved was this dealership gave us the best initial offer over the internet when I inquired--much better than most of the dozen other dealerships I contacted. There's something respectable about giving a good offer to a customer right off the bat, rather than just saying you'll beat any other offer from another dealership as other places do. I just have the worst car shopping experience of my life. Summer clearance sales event my ass ! They are asking for $33k for a $30k car ! Stop wasting my time and give me all the numbers. So sneaky and treated me like a fool. I want my two hours back so I can just go shopping. Don't talk to the used car sales manager. I don't know his name because he never introduced himself.
