She manages the sales paperwork and preparation of documents. Yes, I've had great service with individuals in the past but very few exceptional ones. Marie sets the bar at extraordinary service. BS) when suggested by the Car Insurance Agent attempting to unnecessarily provide insurance costs not warranted for my position. I purchased a 2005 Lexus LX470 from Master Auto about 3 years ago( initially did not want to write a scathing review ). Prior to purchasing this vehicle, I was given a Carfax( worthless ), and told that the vehicle was " Checked-out ", and ready for sale. So, I purchased the vehicle. I then took the vehicle to get it inspected. The vehicle failed inspection( rear wiper blades and headlight ). So, I took the vehicle back to Master Auto to get things resolved. Anthony apologized for the vehicle. So, now I have an inspection sticker on my vehicle and I am happy. Well, Happiness is always TEMPORARY, because less that two weeks later, The Engine Light popped-on. So, I took it to Master Auto, and Anthony checked it out. He told me that it could be a number of things, but he started to say " Charcoal Can ", but he quickly stopped. So, he scheduled an appointment for me to bring the vehicle back to him. Well, I made about 5 unsuccessful trips, to get this issue resolved. Anthony then decided to have me take the vehicle to a Lexus Dealership in Danvers. I did so, but was told that they needed to do a more extensive check( rip-off ). I took the vehicle back to Master Auto. Anthony held onto the car for over a week. He replaced a part or two and informed me that everything is good. Well, by now, we all know about HAPPINESS; it went, just as The Check Engine Light went on again. So, I brought it back up to Master Auto. Anthony seemed dejected and frustrated. Anyway, he had one of his mechanics take a look at the vehicle( and also do some work on The A/C ).Well, when he was driving the vehicle into the bay, he needed to back-up( tight space, filled with cars ), and I could have sworn he hit something; but I was not sure. Anyway, I went for a stroll to Revere Beach, and when I returned, the vehicle was out front. As I walked up to the vehicle, I noticed a large scratch on the left side of the rear bumper. So, I asked the mechanic if he scratched the vehicle, and he replied, " No ". At this point, I just wanted to get home. So, I drove home, thinking everything was fine( A/C blowing cold air ). About a week later, there was a leak coming from behind the cooling fan(left side). So, I had to bring the vehicle back to Revere. Once there, Anthony had ordered an A/C Condensor. He changed-out some piping and put in the new condensor. That problem solved. But, guess what? Check Engine Light comes on AGAIN. So, at this point, I am irate. I call Master Auto, and speak to Anthony's Brother. I tell him that I have contacted a Lawyer and needed Anthony's last name( my Lawyer Friend is on speed dial ). Anyway, his brother gets pissed-off and eventually hangs-up the phone. I then get a call from Anthony and he asks me to bring the vehicle to get the problem corrected. But, he too voiced his displeasure with involving a lawyer into the situation. He also stated that the vehicle " probably got scratched by someone next door at The Autobody Shop ". Anyway, I bring the vehicle back to Master Auto( about the 8th time at this point, if I had not already lost track ), and he had this new mechanic replace The Charcoal Canister( expensive part ). Finally, that problem was resolved( almost 3 months later ). Anyway, I am finally driving and not worrying about The Check Engine Light. However, I am hearing some squeaking and experiencing a bumpy ride, when I go over a pothole. So, I decide to take my vehicle to another shop in my neighborhood( something I should have done right after purchasing the vehicle, but did not because Master Auto was still working on the initial problems ). Anyway, after this new mechanic checked the vehicle, he realized that The Front Shocks and Front Axle needed replacing, and The Sway Bar was completely detached from one side of the frame. Mind you, Anthony specifically told me that the vehicle was CHECKED AND READY FOR SALE( That is also what he had stated in his advertisement on Auto Trader and another sight( might have been Craigslist or something ). So, now, I am spending to get these things resolved( Shocks are understandable, because those parts were fine when I purchased the vehicle ). But a broken Sway Bar? Cmon. But, here is The Cherry on The Cake. THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, AND THAT INFORMATION WAS NEVER DISCLOSED TO ME BY ANTHONY, OR WAS IT ON THE CARFAX! Bottom line: Master Auto sold me a vehicle that they did not even inspect thoroughly before they listed it for Sale( or worse, knew what was wrong, and sold it anyway ). Also, Anthony, as nice and as personable a guy as he is, the dude is the epitome of " A Used Car Salesman ". I would advise anyone that is considering on either purchasing a vehicle, or even getting your vehicle serviced their, to seriously consider other options, because you might not like the results. Master auto is the absolute best!!! It is a triple A partnered shop with really good rates. But the best part is their service. The receptionist is exceptional! She is a very sweet and genuine person and the mechanics do their job very well with extremley fast service. They really care about the customers needs and concerns. I had a power steering issue a month ago and they fixed it for me same day. Unforunatley, it happened again the other day. When I brought it in they right away determined the root cause and said it was because of mice. They told me it was free of charge and gave me tips on how to prevent the issue in the future. Excellent service and truly care about the customers. If they charged me I would have been in a financial mess. Here I go with my first real, negative Yelp review - I came here a couple months ago for an inspection. HUGE MISTAKE. DO NOT come here for an inspection if you are a woman. They will take advantage of you, like they did to me. If I could give them ZERO stars, I would. I knew that I had a problem with the left front of my car near the tire and needed to have it repaired. However, I was confident that everything else was in fine, working condition. After tinkering around with my car for a bit, the man assisting me told me that I had a issue with the wheel bearing and it was very, very dangerous. Fine, I would have had it repaired then and there...but then he continued to tell me that my muffler was "maybe dangerous for the environment, maybe not, I don't really know, but it's old, it could be dangerous for the environment." He slapped a Reject sticker on my car and told me that I would have to come back to have a mechanic fix the wheel bearing. Wait...if you're NOT a mechanic, how can you properly perform an inspection?! When I took a look at the sheet he provided me that outlines what passed and failed, I found out that he failed me not only for the wheel bearing issue (which is understandable), but ALSO for the muffler/exhaust system AND suspension, the latter of which he never ONCE mentioned to me. My boyfriend and I ended up taking my car to a different mechanic in Malden that was recommended by his friend who lives in Dorchester (yes, her and her family visit this mechanic in Malden all the way from Dorchester). He came with me so that no other mechanic would take advantage of me.There, they told me that not only was my muffler/exhaust system AND suspension PERFECTLY FINE, but that there was NOT an issue with the wheel bearing. Rather, it was the ball bearing. So, I got that fixed as I had wanted same day, and I was off on my merry way with a passed inspection sticker since obviously I CAN'T TRUST "MASTER" AUTO to properly re-perform the inspection. (Needless to say, I will be going to this mechanic instead from now on) In summary - A NON-MECHANIC "inspected" my car at "Master" Auto. He diagnosed my car wrong on all 3 things that he failed me for. And he also took advantage of me as a woman for unfortunately not knowing as much about cars as I wish I did. If I could report this place to the DMV for fraudulent inspections, since this is not the first review I've seen echoing these sentiments, then I would. I will not give this place my business for ANY reason EVER again. read more

When I went The Master Auto Sales & Service, My daughter in-law read reviews and referred them to me. So she took me there to check some out. Their were two awesome ladies that were most helpful. We went in to test drive a specific car we saw on line. I've had Nissan' Altima for the most part of my life and was kind of going for that model. ( Well. I really wanted a convertible) but it wasn't practical so I chose The Nissan Rogue instead of the Altima. So we put a deposit on it. It took approximately 3+weeks of calling to find out when we could pick it up. We were told it was a title issue. Something about a 3rd party sales. Shortly after getting the car I noticed after the breaks were grinding and the AC stopped working. I brought it to my mechanic whom has been my mechanic for many years and have the upmost trust & respect when fixing my cars.,he told me the AC needed a new com-pressure which I considered that a luxury so I told the gentleman whose name was never told. I would pay out of pocket even though it had a 3 month warranty. But when I told him about the breaks being rusted as well as the rotor cuffs needed replacement both front and rear. The man said he wouldn't take the word of some other mechanic and to bring up to him. Yet I trusted him to sell me a car. Knowing he charged 100.00 per hr just to check it out I told my mechanic to fix it.The man was very passive aggressive and treated me as a dumb female and I didn't want to take the risk of getting into an accident to his location. Not only is the location dangerous to get to but the man was far to rude to even bother. He then told me he would not pay someone else to fix it even though my mechanic was far cheaper than him. I would never recommend any of my friends to go out of their way to buy a car there. read more

Made a mistake of pulling in here for an inspection sticker. Three year old vehicle, no issues, just bought brand new tires. Figure I would stop here for a quick sticker and be on my way. Handed over my registration and money, waited in the tiny waiting room for a bit. After about 15 minutes the mechanic comes out. Sorry he said, we had to put a rejection sticker on your car. Why, I asked. It was the windshield wipers blades, they aren't any good. You have to be joking, right, I said. No, he said, we can replace them for $12 each plus the price of the new ones. I brought my 2018 Jeep Wrangler here to get an inspection sticker last Saturday and it failed for front end. I challenged the guy because it's fairly new, and I didn't feel/hear anything to give me cause for concern. The guy was so rude and aggressive telling me to "PAY NOW!!" So I took my Jeep to the dealership since it's still under warranty and surprise surprise they found NOTHING WRONG WITH IT!!!! Stay away! Rip off! I brought the car in for something rattling in the front passenger side. They told me it was just the bolts that had loosened up and they replaced them. They also said the brakes were no good. My Dad is a mechanic in NH , he said the brakes were fine and the shop take 20 minutes to do brakes and they charge $300 for a brake job.300 for a rear brake job ! What a rip off! I was in a pickle when my car died at the gas station across the street from this repair shop. It was late on a Friday afternoon and it wasn't clear what the problem was. They worked fast, were extremely gracious, and had me out quickly, happy and for a reasonable price within an hour and a half. Anthony and Robert were so nice to deal with. They said they knew it is hard to break down so far from home when you don't know people or who you can trust. I put my trust in them, they treated me well, got the work done fast and at really fair price, when they could have taken me around the block.. I hope I never break down near them again, but if I do, I know I will be in good hands. I went here for an oil change and inspection sticker. They took the time to show me that my valve cover gasket was leaking a tiny bit, but not to worry. I always go here for gas, and auto repairs. They are always fair, and do the job the first time. I am really confused why people are upset that they may be a little more meticulous, when it comes to inspections. My first impression was that the goings on at this auto sales and service business locate at Brown Circle in Revere resembled a kind of ill-defined but managed chaos. The four principal activities -- gas station, auto repair, safety inspections, and used car sales -- somehow manage to avoid collision in what is a decidedly limited amount of space. Customers seeking one or more of the services on offer might at times feel like they are sidestepping their way into a set of middle theater seats at a sold-out concert. I purchased one of the used cars lined up cheek to jowl between the office/garage and the entrance to Route 107. I have to say, Anthony, the owner, has a good eye for acquiring cars that may have racked up more than a few miles, but which have lots of useable life left in them. He then does whatever service work is required to insure that the vehicle doesn't come back to haunt him. In my case, before taking delivery, he replaced the timing belt (a complicated and costly piece of service work), replaced the serpentine belt, flushed both the radiator and transmission, and checked all the other points of wear...taking corrective action where needed. I drove away confident that I'd be able o extract the second half of the vehicle's useful life expectancy without undue expense. The only caveat I would offer...don't be in a hurry. Anthony has a lot of balls in the air and his attention gets divided among the many activities taking place on the property. Once you make your deal, give him time to carry out his end. He will get it done; it will get done right; and he'll stand behind it. It just might take a few days to percolate to the top. read more

My car died and I had it towed to Master Auto on the recommendation of a friend. I spoke to Marie, the receptionist mostly and she was calm, friendly, and professional as she helped walk me through all of the steps of the process. John and Anthony in the garage took a look, and within 24 hours they had contacted me letting me know the prognosis: blown engine. They didn't even try to sell me on repairs,which they definitely could have. Marie then swooped in and helped me figure out what do next, and got in touch with a junker they worked with so that I could at least get a little bit of money back in the end. Marie, John and Anthony's kindness and professionalism helped me get through the tough process of saying goodbye to a car as painlessly as possible.
