very pleased with management and mechanics they go beyond they make sure they do a thorough job. It's a wonderful place. I give them a 10+ I don't care what anyone else says. I've been going to them for years number one in my book. read more

Great and quick service. Had my car towed here since it wouldn't start. Took a few days for them to look at it which is understandable but once they did, it was ready that day. Would recommend read more

Love these guys, honest and hard working. Have been going there for years! Billy is great.

Quick, helpful and friendly. Had a light out, they replaced it in 10 minutes and cleared me for inspection. Great shop

I've been going to Frank's for the last three years for my vehicle inspection. They are super friendly and the work is always done quickly.

I came here for my yearly inspection and was told there was a 30 minute wait . It took quite a bit longer but they apologized and it was clear that the man inspecting the cars was going at super speed. Also, we are coming out of a pandemic ( hopefully for good ) and everyone needs to be more patient and give businesses a break! They may be short staffed and overwhelmed or just overwhelmed . Try some kindness . read more

Really glad I found this place because it's my new go-to for all my car needs. Went here for the first time a week ago for an oil change. I'm used to dropping off my car for the day, but they told me if I wanted to stick around for 20 minutes they could get it done right away! It took 15 minutes, tops! They also took my car a few days later to fix a squeaky belt, which was the best priced service I've ever had done in the Boston area. I like these guys so much, my boyfriend has an appointment here for his car this week! If you're looking for a no-BS, affordable, reliable mechanic, these are your guys. read more

I needed an oil change and state inspection done. I dropped by on the last Saturday of the month, and despite being busy, they helped me. I was in and out in under 45 minutes. The employees are very friendly and I plan to go back for routine maintenance needs. read more

Best customer service ever! I had a small job putting some molding on my 1971 El Camino and Thomas took care of it immediately while I waited. Fast and friendly, this is the right place to take your car. read more

I've been a loyal customer since finding Frank's in 2016 - that's 4 cars serviced to date (Mercedes, Suburu, Dodge, Volvo). Fantastic, honest work. Won't go anywhere else. read more

Billy was very helpful getting my inspection done. All process ended very efficiently and quickly. Prices are very reasonable as well. They did a thorough job and the inspection costs only $35. Beyond all full honest workplace! read more

Frank's Auto is the best I've found in my thirty years.I recommended them to all my family and friends and they agree that they're the best.

All I have to say is, do not go here for any exhaust repairs. They are a rip-off. Go to one of the many Lou's Custom Exhaust locations instead. There are ones in Lynn and Medford and it should be worth the trip. In 2015, I had an audible exhaust hole somewhere and my check-engine light went on a result. On 3 Dec 2015 I got my flex pipe replaced here for $824. I got a proposal at Reggie's in Chelsea first, and the price was similar. So I thought, this is what it costs for this sort of job and there is nothing I can do. I mean, I'm not an expert at this stuff and if two places give me a similar quote then I assume it's about right. Well, 2020 comes around and the flex pipe is flaking out.... again! I went to Lou's in Lynn and they asked, who did this job? They put in a low-grade "plain steel" pipe instead of a stainless steel section. For $824. Unbelievable rip-off! Lou's replaced the flex pipe AND put in a new stainless steel muffler for $475. All stainless steel, parts and labor and tax. This will likely last me for ten years or more instead of four, and at about half the cost. Well congratulations, Frank's, you made a good profit from me. You are only getting 2 stars instead of one because, well, it did indeed last 4 years so that's something right? In return, you get a customer who is rightfully putting you down online and warning others to stay away. I will also post the same thing to Google so that even more people know. Now ask yourself, is it worth the bad publicity and will you do something to make it right? read more

Came here for an inspection 2x now, great service with reliable time estimates to get the job done. Would totally recommend this place for service. read more

Frank's is full of professionals. They are honest and always provide me and my family with consistent great service. They always charge under what they quote me, such reasonable prices for their hard work. read more

Disgusting and racist owner, I went to this shop based off a google search, the shop is located on a corner of a very busy intersection. I went around the block 3 times in attempt to look for a space to pull into. When I pulled in and was asking a customer waiting where I should wait, the owner came and told me "To move my fucking car, it's 100 degrees and no one has time for this bullshit" all I said was I was just trying to figure it out and get some assistance. He was just disrespectful & I'd love to pay a visit when I'm with my husband, to see if he'll talk to a woman that way. read more

I have been coming to Franks Auto Repair for several years and I will NOT go to anyone else. Frank and his staff are efficient professional and give the best care to my trucks. No matter how busy they get, they always find the time to fit you in and I have my vehicle back within a few hours. Very hard to find good people that you can trust. These guys are 5 star service all day! read more

I drive a 2003 White Chrysler Sebring that needs some work here and there. Oil changes, headlight/breaklight issues, air-conditioning.. etc So far, so good! They are all very friendly, professional, fast, flexible, inexpensive, and honest. I feel very comfortable and confident bringing my car here. Thanks so much guys! read more

I LOVE these guys. They checked out my jeep, warned me of all the issues, and took it on when I told them to fix it anyway. They found ways to save me money, and took care of the oil change and sticker! They even did a once over of some smaller things to prepare me for my trip. AND they did it quick! They are actually a family, neighborhood auto place that is out to help and fix, not screw you over. I heart them. read more

I've lived all over MA and have dealt with many auto body shops and Frank Jr. is one of the most honest and reliable people out there! I came to him with an older car and was very frank (pun intended) with me regarding the vehicle's condition and what needed to be done. I did some of my own research and he was by far the most reasonable as far as parts and labor go. Even after I got some work done, I would call and he happily gave his professional opinion. Frank's work is excellent and has the customer service skills to match. They've been around for a long time and it's evident why. read more

Frank is honest, efficient, friendly, and professional. Came in for a car inspection after being ticketed for the expiry on 11/1 (yes, one day over expiry and they ticket in Chelsea, so put a reminder in your calendar so you don't lapse like I did!). Arrived at 8 AM opening and was out at 8:10 AM, and there was one woman ahead of me. If that's not efficient, I don't know what is! $35, in and out, no upselling or frills. Frank also does oil changes, tune ups, etc. I just had my oil changed at NTB on 10/29 and they charged $103, tried to sell me repairs I didn't need, and didn't bother saying a word about my about-to-expire inspection. Strong work, NTB. In contrast, Frank quoted me in the $50 range for an oil change (synthetic mix for a Mercedes). Needless to say, I'll be returning for all of my vehicle needs. Thanks Frank! Keep up the great service! read more

Really nice, efficient service. Have done plenty of inspections here as well as brake jobs. Transparent, fair pricing.

Recently visited Frank's to get my car inspected. I was in and out in a matter of 10-15 minutes. Very helpful and quick service. The inspection was only $35 (standard MA inspection cost). I would highly recommend if you are in a pinch and need to get your inspection done and out of the way. read more

Came in to get an oil change and so glad I did. The mechanics were fast, friendly, and did a very thorough job. I knew there was something up with my windshield washer pump and they checked it out no charge. They also pointed out some other things that need to be repaired (time for new tires and brakes before winter). They took the time to show me areas of concern without talking down to me. They also provided me with a free estimate for all the repairs but didn't pressure me to schedule the services. After doing a little research their estimate is more than fair and I'll be going back to them to get all the work done. read more

Needed a quick oil change and they were able to take me right away. I dropped the car and it was ready in 2 hours (even though I told them they could have all day)! read more

The Guys are smart and fast, that's all I need in a reliable auto repair shop. They are all so friendly and services very afford

Walk in service and was luckily there at a good time so they started immediately on an inspection and oil change. Great price! Was able to sit in their office and read my book while they worked on my car. Will be back for my regular services and for our other car. Just moved here and I'm very happy to have found a great service with great people. read more

I know next to nothing about cars (i.e. I know how to drive one and that's about the extent of it). When my brakes started making some crazy scraping sound, I ignored it for weeks before finally admitting there was a problem and taking the car into Frank's. Thankfully they are trustworthy good people and took care of everything quickly and without breaking the bank. They even noticed that my sticker was passed due and took care of the inspection while they were fixing the brakes! They picked me up from home when my car was done so I wouldn't have to take the bus there. These are good guys who have been in the area for years and years and have an old neighborhood mentality where you don't screw people (unlike most car repair places). Highly recommended. read more

I went in for an oil change and state inspection and was in and out in about 30 minutes. Frank seems like he runs a honest, straightforward shop as nobody tried to upsell me on other services or claimed I needed some other work done. I would definitely suggest them for others. read more

Frank does our MA stickers - and had a quick turnaround on some front end work (broken spring + struts) on a Ford Focus. Really quick quote, good price, and stellar service. Heck he even suggested that we park the car in his garage overnight so we wouldn't get an expired sticker ticket from the cash-strapped BPD. Frank's good stuff. read more

Very efficient and friendly service! I came by to do my car inspection and they finished everything in less than 10 minutes. They are also very quick with replying (through text) to any questions and/or concerns through the contact number listed on their Google business page. read more

I'm new to Chelsea and was looking for a mechanic as my Mustang had been making odd noises. After doing some online research, I decided to try Frank's. I brought the car in at 10am. Frank quickly discovered I had an anti freeze leak, ordered the part, and had my car fixed by 3:30pm. I recommend this place to anyone in the East Boston/Chelsea area. They have been in business for 30+ years and do good work. read more

I just moved from North Carolina so I had to register my car and get it inspected. Also, being from North Carolina, I didn't need front plates and my car didn't even have the holes for them! I brought my car to Frank's for the inspection and also hoping that they would put my MA front plates on. They did the inspection so quickly and put on the front plates with no questions asked! Thank you :) read more

You know how auto shops usually try to rip you off and bullshit you? These guys don't. They are fun friendly and get stuff done with great rates. One time I was supposed to pick up my car after work but I got caught on the phone and it was about 15 mins after their closing. They waited up for me. I feel bad for being that person. But that's how cool they are. I pass about 20 mechanic shops to come to this one. Bonus they do inspections. read more

I come here often with our company trucks. There is no one we trust more when it comes to the repairs and maintenance of our fleet. The service is always great, fast, and well priced. Happy to do business with him. read more

I agree with many of the other reviewers. These guys are honest, good guys. I stopped by on the fly with a punctured tire that needed to be plugged. They took care of it on the spot and didn't charge me. Just trying to help me out and be good to one of the locals. I really appreciated that. As someone who knows nothing about cars and is afraid of everyone out there trying to rip me off, I feel safe bringing my car here should anything else come up. read more
