Tried to get my inspection here and the tow truck driver parked in the middle of the driveway. Went in and asked the tow truck driver to move and the owners didn't give 2 that my car was halfway in the road and kept going through the charges with the driver instead of "Can you move your truck and then we'll pick this up " Nope. They kept going through the list of charges... And why the hell would they block one curb and then let a tow truck block the other (I tried to go around and SCRAPED THE BOTTOM) They just lost 4 cars worth of business that are 3 blocks away. We'll be using good news garage as we have been. Shame we have to drive 30 minutes, but it's obvious the owners don't care about customers. read more

1 Star - Wouldn't Recommend Waited patiently in line for an inspection sticker, only to be skipped over so they could take care of a friend who just pulled in. Totally unprofessional and disrespectful to paying customers. If you're not part of their inner circle, don't expect fair treatment or basic courtesy. My granddaughter took her vehicle in for an inspection and she raved how professional she was treated. The owner took his time obviously knowing she was young and new to the area and the state's requirements. We would recommend to anyone that needs their vehicle inspected to seek out this business. So my review is biased because they never actually serviced me. Online their hours say 7:30 to 6. Ok. So I went to get my emissions done early before work one day. I got there at 7:25. Thought it was weird no one was there yet. Then I see a sign on the wall that says "inspections 8:00-5:00". Ugh ok annoying but I was already there so I decided to wait. Still no one in sight. I waited until 8:15 before leaving- never got it done. I called later that day and asked for their hours and the guy said 9-5. They need to have their hours accurately advertised everywhere so people like me don't waste their time waiting around. read more

I have been to Auto Doctor twice and both times I have driven away feeling good. Although I just had minor issues, it's very easy for a mechanic to take advantage of someone who knows nothing about cars. And these guys are honest, friendly, and fix the issue at hand instead of creating panic on a hypothetical situation that you should take care of RIGHT AWAY. I'm really glad they are close to my house because they have become my go-to mechanic. I highly recommend Auto Doctor if you are in the East Boston or Revere area. read more

I first went to D and M many years ago when I was new to East Boston. At first, they seemed to be a great change from the dealership I had been dealing with, who found every excuse to charge extras. D&M did most jobs at reasonable rates. But over the years, my opinion of them has really soured. Final straw has come over the past few months, during which: 1) I showed up during posted business hours, and no one would be there. Repeatedly. 2) On one of the rare times I did catch them, I set up an appointment for the following day, a Thursday, at 8am. I show up, and they're not there. I waited until 8:30, with no sign of them. I tried calling the numbers on their signs and online...to find that their phones are not connected. 3) A while back, my Check Engine light was on when my inspection was pending. They offered to simply "get rid of the light" for the inspection...for a measely $100. Shady. Not the way I went, but it really sat poorly with me that they even offered to take my money for no real solution...just a way to skirt the system. 4) They have no respect for their community...take a look at their lot. Note the salt marsh right behind them, onto which they dump their trash and chemicals. I have now found notices over the years when they were fined for dumping oil directly in the marsh. From what I can tell, the fines haven't changed their behavior. I'm not too keen on supporting a business who is trying to trash my home and resources. There are mechanics around who do what they can to be responsible with their business activities. If you do work with them, they try to make you feel like they're looking out for you. It gets clearer and clearer that they are not the honest or respectful mechanic that we all yearn for. read more

Went once to get my car inspected and the guy charged me $80 for the inspection in cash and gave me 3 months to reinspect my car when my mechanic said there was nothing wrong with it at all and said I got ripped off. He didn't say why, he just said to come back to him again in 3 months. Yeah right! Fuck off! Bad business! The place looks like trash too. You might need to shower asap after stepping on the premise, that's how bad it is. I wouldn't stop here. Drive down the street and deal with other people who work by the book. These guys probably been scamming people their whole career, mostly likely the reason their business looks like shit! read more
